YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN Sakuragicho Station

Yokohama Air Cabin is very easy to access, located just a short walk from the station. We bought the combo ticket with the Cosmo World Ferris wheel, which made the price very reasonable. We rode around 5 PM on a Saturday and there were no lines at all. The ride was smooth, and we got off at Yokohama World Porters, which made it convenient to continue exploring the area. Overall, a nice experience and a fun way to see Yokohama from a different perspective.

Air conditioning inside each cabin and music with a beautiful view. Roundtrip is worth it. Great service and very clean units. They even have a romance cabin filled with flowers. A great way to view from above especially at night. I say check it out.

You look up, you see these futuristic gondolas sliding over the harbor like some Bond villain’s commute. Slick, Instagrammable, efficient...Japan at its best. Then you look at the price: ¥1,000 one-way. For five minutes. That’s $9 for a commute you could replace with a 10-minute stroll across a bridge that’s free and arguably healthier for your cardiovascular system. This is the problem with pricing in tourist traps: when the price crosses the line from “experience” to “extraction.” A train in Tokyo? A few bucks. The Yurikamome ride across Rainbow Bridge? Four bucks and you actually go somewhere. The Air Cabin? You go 600 meters, and the only thing lighter than the gondola is your wallet. We skipped it...like the locals do. Why? Because paying $9 for what amounts to the “Uber Black” version of a 10-minute walk feels absurd. If they pegged it to the price of a train ticket, fine. But at this rate, it’s the LVMH of public transport—luxury branding slapped on something utilitarian. The weather was perfect, the walk was free, and the view? Identical. The Air Cabin is less a ride and more a tax on FOMO. Verdict: Pretty from a distance. Better for your legs, lungs, and wallet if you skip it.

It's a short ride but is worth a trip. 1000 yen for one way and 1800 yen for return. The close time is listed as 9pm but was 10pm when we went. We went on at night for the lights but not sure if daytime is better. I find the location to be a bit awkward 😅 but it was a novelty adding to the metropolitan feel of Yokohama!

This is a fantastic way to see Yokohama, especially for the night views. Even though it was very crowded when I arrived, the staff were highly professional and handled the crowd well. I appreciated that they assign a private cabin to each group, ensuring a personal and private experience.

Too short of a ride. I suggest riding during sunset down to the main station to make the best out of this ride. Still worth a try but I wouldn't purchase a round-way trip.

The Yokohama Air Cabin is one of the most convenient and scenic ways to see the city! The short ride offers stunning views of the harbor, Cosmo Clock Ferris Wheel, and Minato Mirai skyline. It’s also super practical since you can skip the long walk between Sakuragicho Station and the waterfront area in just a few minutes while enjoying the view. The cabins are clean, quiet, and air-conditioned, making it comfortable but the music in the air cabin can be a little bit annoying.

10/11/2025 - The cruise ship shuttle buses sent hundreds or a thousands of cruisers from the Cruise Ship Terminal to YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN Sakuragicho Station, where guests can walk to the Sakuragicho Station to take a train, etc. You can also take a city sightseeing bus - City Loop Bus " Akai Kutsu" - (see the photo for your reference) at 220 円 ($1.46) per ride for the entire route for visiting many major sighting places. The bus starts at Sakuragicho station and tours around the major sightseeing places and stops at the same regular city bus (市营巴士) stop.
