How Coronavirus Is Impacting Dallas’s Restaurants | Eater Dallas

"I reported that Yolk at One Arts Plaza remained open even after an employee tested positive, prompting staff concerns that management did not properly notify employees or encourage those who had contact with the infected coworker to self-quarantine while the restaurant continued to serve diners; one hostess later became ill, was hospitalized, and tested positive." - Eater Staff

Downtown Restaurant Yolk Stayed Open After Employee Tested Positive for COVID-19 | Eater Dallas

"A Downtown Dallas breakfast spot faced worker safety concerns after a hostess, Vanessa Rodriguez, was hospitalized and later tested positive for Covid-19. Coworkers allege management failed to properly notify staff of the diagnosis, did not encourage exposed employees to self-quarantine, and continued serving diners while potential exposures occurred; two other servers reportedly were not informed of their contact and kept interacting with customers. Rodriguez’s boyfriend, a server who lives with her, said he told managers he would self-isolate and be tested, but was allegedly kept on the schedule and asked to return despite his doctor’s recommendation for testing; management and the owner, Taki Kastanis, counter that the server was required to isolate and was removed from the schedule and that the restaurant followed CDC notification guidelines. Rodriguez also says she was never screened for symptoms since March, contrasting with owner claims that employees are screened, and raising questions about whether the venue met Texas Health and Human Services’ recommended reopening protocols." - Brittanie Shey

Such a pleasant surprise to discover a breakfast and brunch spot that truly goes above and beyond. Every plate I’ve ordered has been absolutely delicious. from the pancakes and French toast to the breakfast skillet and Monte Cristo sandwich. Even the simple things like eggs and bacon are cooked perfectly. The staff is warm and attentive, and the prices are very fair for the quality you get. I’m officially a fan and can’t wait to visit again soon!

We had a great time at brunch. The food was wonderful. We got eggs Benedict as a majority favorite. I recommend making sure your server is attentive if you get the bottomless mimosa. The woman in our party waited for her small mason glass to be refilled more than she spent time enjoying it. Overall, the food was worth it and they accommodated our party of six without a reservation.

I will give this restaurant a 5 five, for it's friendly staff and fast service, we had a party of 12 and they put together tables very promptly. Drinks were out before we know it and the menus are not confusing or to cluttered. Food came out quick and was hot!. Although my order was not correct the first time, they quickly corrected and I was very pleased with the meal, and the staff made this a learning opportunity. Thank you all for the service it was delicious! I ordered the Monte Cristo, which was amazing!

Yolk in downtown Dallas is one of my favorite breakfast spots! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the menu has something for everyone. Whether you’re craving pancakes, omelets, or something unique, Yolk really delivers. A great place to start your morning!

What a wonderful delight to find a breakfast and brunch place that exceeds all your expectations when it comes to delicious food and great customer service. Every dish I've tried from here is terrific. Pancakes, French toast, breakfast skillet, Monte Cristo sandwich, eggs, bacon, you name it - chances are its amazing. Great customer service and reasonable prices. I'm a huge fan and will definitely keep coming back.

Outstanding customer service! Very friendly and attentive staff. There is plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor seating. The food was pretty good, just a bit bland. The food was good for a chain restaurant. Everything was fresh and appropriate portions. There is complimentary garage parking in the back, just make sure to ask your waiter for a validation ticket before leaving the restaurant.

I was really dissatisfied with my experience at Yolk- One Arts Plaza in Downtown Dallas. The food portion was small, and when I shared my concern with the manager, Jodi, she responded very rudely. She told me that the serving size was “because she’s here today,” which was shocking to hear from a manager. When I asked for some gravy, she said it didn’t come with my meal (which I understand) but then added that she’d give it to me “so I can leave.” That’s not how you speak to a paying customer. I had to call back just to get her name, and I’ve never had an experience like this at Yolk before. I’ve ordered from them and even dined in several times, but this visit really changed my impression of the place. Poor service can ruin an otherwise good restaurant. Jodi should learn to be nicer and have better customer service.

Good food, nice coffee and cozy ambience. Pretty satisfied with my breakfast skillet. flavorful not too greasy and tasted fresh. The portion is prefect so you wouldnt feel overstuffed. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and they were really good. It’s slightly on the expensive side compared to some other brunch places I’ve been to but I guess it’s okay once in a while. Also special mention on the service that was fantastic given the place was packed.
