We stopped in for a quick brunch on our way out of Chicago, and Yolk did not disappoint! I had the pork belly sandwich from their test kitchen menu, and it was one of the most delicious sandwiches I’ve ever had! My Americano was also super tasty, the espresso had a really nice strong, almost brown sugar flavor to it. I would recommend Yolk to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast or brunch.

Google
pricey, eggs taste like coconut oil. Don't like that taste at all. When I pay a high dollar amount for small meal it should taste like what I paid for. Sausages are fire though. Shame about the coconut eggs EDIT Went back once more to give them another chance this time I get cold fruit sitting in my eggs when I open the box. ALL my food was cold and the fruit was warm from sitting on top of the warm food. Totally unnacceptable. This place has horrible food packaging throwimg cold, wet fruit on top of warm food, GROSS. 27$ out the window. Never going back no matter what their auto AI response says. Steer clear! Cozy Kitchen blows this out the water and many other breakfast places much much better. 0 stars from me.

Google
A fairly nice breakfast cafe with ample seating. Food is reasonably priced with ample portions, pancakes have a lot of added vanilla but I think that helped them stand out and be a bit tastier. Self branded hot sauce at the table is a nice touch and the habenero stuff was very flavorful. Comparing to the other options around wicker/ bucktown, I wouldn't put it on top, but it's a solid pick, if you're out early.

Google
This is a great place to eat breakfast/brunch. I enjoy coming to eat here. Please dine in and eat outside if you can. The servers are nice and decent. There is a great variety of food if breakfast is not your thing. Parking can be difficult to find. However, Sundays the parking is free so that's a plus.

Google
We had a lovely experience here having brunch with omelettes and skillets. Everything was fresh and made to order and came in quick. Definitely come hungry because their portions are rather large which is a plus in my book. Our server was super nice and the atmosphere was bright and inviting.

Google
I was extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. I always come here specifically for the Red Velvet Stuffed French Toast, but unfortunately, it wasn’t available and no one informed me when I placed my order. When the food arrived, I immediately noticed it looked different. After taking a bite, I realized it wasn’t the same dish I was expecting, so I decided not to eat it. However, my child had already started eating one piece. What upset me most was the way the manager handled the situation. Without any explanation or courtesy, they simply walked over and said they needed to take all the Red Velvet back. I understand policy is policy, but I believe the situation could’ve been handled more respectfully—especially considering my child was already halfway through eating. A bit of understanding and better communication would’ve gone a long way.

My sisters and I enjoyed a delicious Saturday brunch at Yolk in Wicker Park. We arrived a little later in the day so there wasn’t much of a wait, maybe 15-20 minutes which isn’t bad at all. The space was clean and airy with availability for outdoor dining. It was hot so we decided to dine inside with the air conditioning. The server who took our order was very helpful in making some great suggestions on what to order. Our food came out hot and all at the same time. Everything we had was delicious and the portions are generous. We all left with leftovers!! Next time you’re in Wicker Park, Yolk is a must!

Google
6/22 my friend and I went for brunch. they ordered french toast which was a plentiful dish in size but lacked greatly in taste. It tasted of bread and syrup no, french toast flavor at all, however, it was dipped in an egg concoction of some sort being as though you could see the fried egg on the corners of the bread. This the ONLY reason I never order french toast from chain restaurants, the quality isn't there and I despise syrup & egg flavor together; especially when I'm supposed to be eating french toast...and yes I tasted the french toast it lacked in flavor greatly. I ordered the 5 egg omelet which was good but, inconsistent in size to when i previously ordered through food delivery app. However, what was consistent was the missing syrup & butter for the pancakes. This occurred when i ordered take-out and while i dined in 🙄. I work in the area and everytime my co worker orders from here they forget his syrup & butter consistently. So now he sticks with Tours De Jour it isn't breakfast but it's consistent >his words. It's disappointing really we, work less than a block away from Yolk and always need a meal before starting our shifts. O well! I can say that this is the only location I've encountered this lack in quality & service.

Yelp
Everything was delicious. We enjoyed the Corned Beef Hash, All-Star Combo & Santa Fe Frittata. The cinnamon roll French toast was unique, the pancakes were perfectly cooked & the side came with 2 large pancakes. We had leftovers and could have shared one of the breakfast dishes. The portions were large & everything was wonderful! The service was great as well. The seasonal horchata oat milk cold brew coffee was a nice treat.

Yelp
I was in town for a wedding, staying in Wicker Park neighborhood. We were hungover (after said wedding) and while food didn't sound amazing at the time, it was necessary. A short walk to Yolk and we were seated right away. Our waitress was professional and prompt, she also kept our coffee mugs full! The pricing seemed steep to me for breakfast food? But it probably was on par for the area. I had the corned beef hash-- it was a ton of food! Unfortunately it was super heavy on onion. I like onion, but that was a bit much for even me. For a Sunday around 930, it was pretty sparse. It was cool to see the kitchen as you are-- employees seemed to be having a great time! The interior is light, bright and modern. Yolk is a solid option but I'd try somewhere else next time!

Yelp
This Yolk location is nestled in Wicker Park. There is tons of street parking in the area, but no dedicated lot or parking garages that I noticed. It was a beautiful day and we sat by the window. They were not especially busy. Yolk is always bright and clean, but there is definitely a corporate vibe. It's great to know what to expect from location to location, though! Our server was friendly but possibly new to serving. She did forget to come back with sugar for the coffee after we asked, but otherwise the service was nice. After ordering, food came quickly! This is a great spot for just hitting a quick table service meal before your Wicker Park adventures. I ordered the loaded potato pancakes, which were a huge serving and incredible. I absolutely loved this. They weren't too greasy, the potatoes were cooked nice and I loved the loaded toppings. I got a side of cheesy grits and they were just okay. The flavor was bland and I wasn't taken back to the south like I had hoped. My partner ordered the Benedict which he loved. Portions were generous and we left feeling great. This is a quick breakfast spot and pretty affordable if you're on the go. There are many non-chain options for breakfast in the area so probably won't be a regular at Yolk, but we did have an enjoyable meal for a great price. Thank you, Yolk!

Yelp
I loved everything I ordered from the tenders and nuggets to the Mac & cheese. Only thing I wish they could do better is find a different way to keep their fries hot & crispy for pickup. Those were the only thing I dislike, due to them being soggy cold.
google avatar

Yelp
I was so happy with the presentation, but sadly disappointed with the taste. I tasted not much seasoning in the gravy. The biscuit tasted bland. I had to add salt to the gravy and pepper. My friend said the same with his breakfast meal. Interior was very nice and server was very nice and attentive.

Yelp
Definitely one of the top breakfast places in Wicker Park. Started off with a delicious butterscotch latte that was beautifully served. The service was exceptional and friendly. The All Star Breakfast gives you a little bit of everything and it doesn't disappoint. I have no complaints about anything. The omelettes are good portion sizes and come with delicious choices of pancakes or crepes and you can upgrade for a sugary treat. I can't wait to come back during the weekday to take advantage of some of their specials. Be sure to use the Yelp check in for 10% off (available at time of this post)

Yelp
What a great deal for brunch! The food is good, the portions are massive, the wait is short, and it really just hits the spot for a Sunday morning, especially if you're craving diner food :) Yolk is a chain brunch spot that has multiple locations in Chicago and it's an excellent spot for it's consistency. This is the second location I have been to (the other was in Streeterville). There is an online wait-list that you can join before arriving, though we decided to put our name down when we arrived since the wait was minimal (even for Saturday 11am). There's a lot of seating inside and outside. A short 10 minutes wait, and we were seated in a cute booth surrounded by the bright signature colors of the restaurant, sunshine yellow, orange, and a deep blue. Happy colors for a happy place! Even the lamp above our table was shaped like an egg and a warm orange sunset hue. Love the thematic elements. My partner and I shared the California omelet, as it came with a side of potatoes and two pancakes. Its seriously a portion for 2 people for the price of $17! We decided to add a $3 side of fruit to balance out the meal. Everything tasted wonderful, and we were so full after finishing everything. The only thing I would do differently next time is ask for less or no cheese on the omelet. It was a little too much cheese for my preference but I'm sure is a hit for those who enjoy cheesy omelets! They also have their signature hot sauce which was SO GOOD on the omelet and potatoes. Definitely give it a try! Service was excellent and the place was clean and bright :)

Yelp
We ordered the corned beef hash and eggs, all-star combo and a latte. Service was great. The staff were kind and attentive. Restaurant was clean. Toilet also clean. The food, however, was disappointing. My boyfriend, who has lived in Wicker Park for almost 5 years now, recommended the restaurant. But the corned beef was burnt. The burnt taste was so overpowering it was hard for me to finish the food as I could only eat the (few) chunks that were not burnt. The pancakes were okay. My boyfriend had the sausages with his all-star combo. Unfortunately, the skin on the sausages were burnt. Waffles were good. Will probably come back to try the french toast cafe but that's it.

Yelp
This is a great place to eat breakfast/brunch. I enjoy coming to eat here. Please dine in and eat outside if you can. The servers are nice and decent. There is a great variety of food if breakfast is not your thing. Parking can be difficult to find. However, Sundays the parking is free so that's a plus.

Yelp
Waiter was nice but service wasn't good, she only checked on us once and the food presentation was nice but the food itself isn't flavorful at all

Yelp
This place is always great!! I go back again and again. Their orange strawberry juice is awesome!!

Yelp
Great service and plenty of seating options. We went at 10:30 on a Saturday and it was not crowded at all. Subbed my chorizo for turkey sausage and it was not a problem.
google avatar

Yelp
Yolk has fairly good breakfast/brunch and I've been to a couple different locations now, I just wish they were a bit more consistent across the board. Sometimes it's a hit and other times I've left underwhelmed. This most recent visit I stopped in for a quick solo breakfast and ordered the west coast crepes which sounded amazing on paper--smashed avocado, mushroom, scrambled eggs and cheddar nestled inside a crepe. I opted for the 'seasoned' potatoes as my side. Wanted to love this so bad but it was honestly just kind of bland. Definitely have had better breakfast here but eh what can you do. Service is good though and it's still a decent spot to come for your brekky classics.

Yelp
Great breakfast spot with large portions. Put yourself on the waitlist on Yelp as they do get busy. Food was great tasting. Next time i would share an entrée instead of getting my own. Both egg dishes came with pancakes (2) toast or an english muffin. Red velvet french toast tasted soo good. Literally like cake so it is on the sweet side. Staff was friendly and attentive.
google avatar

Arielle M.

Yelp
I love the menu because there is so much to chose from. However, the food does fall short and I think it is overpriced. If I would recommend one item to get, go for the lemon blueberry pancakes. The scrambled eggs are nothing special and the service is just okay.

Yelp
LONG STORY SHORT: Incredibly accommodating Yolk in Bucktown-Wicker Park simply put, is an experimental eggtastic kitchen that welcomes customers of all dietary backgrounds and is BYOB! SHORT STORY LONG: Yep, this location of Yolk will witness frequent menu changes and updates as the incredible management team continues to experiment with eggs and their market. What I appreciate most about this place is that they have a large dining area and are very accommodating. They know waiting for a table sucks, that is why they use a Waitlisting system (powered by Yelp) to put you in the queue. Don't worry they auto-text you 15 mins prior when you're up! I personally love that this place is BYOB. Yes, that means you can bring champagne and OJ and make your brunches extra boozy (good thing there's an Aldi next door!). Let's talk food and service. Oh boy, they have a hugeeee menu and I'm sure upon looking at it you'll have some 2-3 items that you're debating between. I highly recommend their: * House coffees- Choco Peanut Butter latte, oat milk horchata cold brew * All-Star Combo (it's often missed but it's a nice spread of food) * California Omelette (great for vegetarians) * Eggs Benedict * Country Skillet * Nutella Crepes From their "Test Kitchen" menu it's really up to you. You can try anything and then give them feedback. Trust me.. your feedback matters! From a service standpoint, the servers here are really good. Very attentive, quick and friendly. FINAL VERDICT: Yolk is my first choice for breakfast/brunch in the Wicker Park area. Not only are they great for groups (max 6-8 people), but they truly do have a menu that is good for anyone. I love bringing out of town visitors here and bombarding them with the choices they get and being able to bring your own drink, well that's the best. Cheers to that!

Yelp
This place is pricey but will not disappoint! Found this gem while visiting Chicago for the weekend & was about 1.5 miles from our hotel . We decided to walk here, there was no wait and service was prompt . I had a hard time deciding what to order because everything looked & sounded delicious. This was a great option for brunch and you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Ashton S.

Yelp
I always have a great time at Yolks. I think I've visited all the locations in Chicago. I love everything we had. The server was nice and friendly. The food was good and the place was clean. Would definitely be back to this location.
google avatar

Phil S.

Yelp
I met my sister in Wicker Park @ Yolk. While I didn't feel like the food was anything remarkable, I mean it wasn't bad just nothing that really made it stand out. I ordered a skillet that was good but again nothing noteworthy. I'm not sure why we selected Yolk when Cafe Istanbul was just a few doors west on Division street. Yolk does have a nice outdoor dining area & the service was very good.
google avatar

Brianna B.

Yelp
If you want a simple, quick, yet tasty breakfast, this is the place. It's not a fancy joint, but if you're hungry on the go or need to order something fast to cure a hangover, it does the job. Their busiest hours are of course during brunch and on Sundays so be mindful of that. The place itself may be a bit loud on busy days for a sit down but it's cozy enough and feels like you're about to have breakfast. For a sit down, we've gotten the Chilaquiles or any of the Benedicts. If we're feeling it, we'll get the red velvet French toast, which is very good and sinful. Take a look at their seasonal beverages too because some of those can be delish. We'll keep it on our list for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
We had a delicious breakfast, very clean with great service. They have outdoor seating as well as in

Anand B.

Yelp
It is a good breakfast/brunch place. Wide selection. Prompt and good service with a smile. It is a welcoming place with enough tables. A must visit place for a hearty meal before you start your day.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing food! I've been crazing a skillet for some time before coming here. Although, we came closer to closing time, the service was great. We didn't feel rushed.
google avatar

Yelp
Variety of different breakfast options that are unique. From omelette's to French toast. A great choice when looking for a delicious meal with great hospitality and comfortable environment.
google avatar

Varun S.

Yelp
Average avo toast and potatoes. A great place for brunch with the friends and quick bite to eat. Friendly staff!
google avatar

Jane V.

Yelp
The food here is generally very good, but the service is hit-or-miss. On our last visit we had the smoked salmon scrambler and the steak and eggs. Both are served with grilled potatoes and your choice of toast. The steak was cooked to perfection, but the smoked salmon Scrambler needed more salmon in it. The service here however is hit-and-miss we've had some really great servers but lately they have not been so great. It bothers me when you're eating breakfast and you have to beg more than once to get coffee or refill. There also is a cute little sidewalk patio in front of the restaurant that you can have your food in, if you so desire. Over all, another really good breakfast at yolk in Wicker Park at least as far as the food goes.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that I rarely give 5 stars. Everything about this experience was great. We walked to this restaurant from my sons apartment and checked several other restaurant menus on the way over. There were so many great sounding meals on their menu that it was really hard to decide what we wanted to order. There was about a 35 minute wait for the patio on a Saturday and thee indoor portion was not open yet from the pandemic. The tables were spaced far enough apart where we felt safe. The hostess and waitress were both very friendly and accommodating. We had my sons puppy in a leash with us, which is allowed in the outdoor patio area. I got the Hey Ricky Omelette which had Avocado, jalapeño, chorizo, onions, pepper jack and cheddar with a side of their salsa. I substituted turkey sausage for the chorizo. My son had a South of the Border Benny which was Eggs Benedict on an English muffin with chorizo and cilantro sauce. Both of our meals came with seasoned potatoes that were delicious. Service was great and the food came out quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, very full menu. Bacon and eggs, Ironman omelets, and egg white scramble with veggies. All were yummy . Service was outstanding. Went Sunday morning and sat by windows. He was so helpful. Try out this location.
google avatar

Hrõnn K.

Yelp
Love the food - the service and the atmosphere. Whenever I'm in Chicago I find a Yolk and it never fails.
google avatar

Joel C.

Yelp
I've been here twice for breakfast and both times I've enjoyed it, theirs always parking right out front the place, the ambiance is friendly and welcoming and kind of gives you a family oriented vibe like all the employees are happy to be there. The food is excellent I've had the Nutella crepe and it was filling and filled with flavor. I will definitely have to come back for lunch or dinner. The menu is filled with variety many options to choose from great spot.
google avatar

Ted R.

Yelp
Delicious and indulgent. Good service. Custom omelette and speciality devious are Morning happiness.
google avatar

Stephon H.

Yelp
The service here was great! The server was very attentive and made her rounds at the perfect times. Me and my cousin that was visiting stopped by here for breakfast. He ordered so many things from the menu before I could tell him the portion sizes were bigger than usual. The food was very good and came out in a timely fashion. I would like to say that I don't care for some of the menu changes. The Santa Fe frittata was my favorite and with the current menu I have a hard time finding a good substitute. Overall good visit.
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
Update based on owners response: I guess good customer service is reserved for dine in customers as well lol. Good riddance yolk. Ordered 2 meals to go on a Monday AM (tipped normal 15%) and it was done faster than expected so we sat down at one of the 20+ open tables outside to eat. We were then immediately approached by a rude staff member and told to leave because we had ordered our food to go. She didn't apologize, was just rude and told us to leave. I pushed back slightly and said....even if 20+ tables are open? And she was again condescending and rude. Would avoid this factory of mediocre food and rude service like the plague.
google avatar

Mike W.

Yelp
They have an amazing breakfast menu! The omelettes are packed with great ingredients, the multiple types of egg Benedict's are awesome - especially the South of the Border Benny. I'm addicted to it. I highly recommend any Yolk and this location is great. Nice outdoor area to sit on sidewalk on sunny mornings.
google avatar

Daniel F.

Yelp
Very reliable place for a BYOB brunch without having to spend 2 hours waiting like other locations. This location is usually busy but never overly full. Food is good and has a lot of variety. Menu wise there isn't anything too crazy besides their strawberry orange juice which is really good. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was that their hot sauce is sweet which was a little unexpected.

Yelp
I love YOLK ! The service is great Kyle was our server and he was on point with everything ! Food came quick still hot, I'm obsessed with the cheesy grits and the farm house is my go to. Wish the drinks were a little bigger but that's just my preference. Now the the weather broke outdoor seating is available and that's great too !
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
I've only been here once but it's already on my list of Chicago places to visit on my next trip. The vibe is great and the  food is delicious. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Courtney L.

Yelp
Since the previous experience regarding strollers, I have noticed that Yolk has been MUCH more accommodating to little ones! They even gave me an easy area to park my stroller. Thank you for making this change. In a family friendly area where people walk, this is essential when bringing kids to a restaurant.
google avatar

Kathryn C.

Yelp
I wasn't expecting much coming into this place and that was good because it met my expectations. It was ok, the food had no flavor and spice at all. It was basic breakfast food. The avocado toast pretty good and refreshing, not too heavy. The pancakes were good too, fluffy. My friend wasn't a fan of her breakfast bowl, she said the potatoes weren't cooked that well and she said the gravy was boring. The strawberry orange juice was tasty but the glass was way too small for the price, it was smaller than a little mason jar.... Overall, it was ok, the avocado toast could've had more to it, the breakfast bowl was dull, and the juice was way over priced.
google avatar

Brooke L.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast spot with a few locations. Check the menu for the Fan Favorites section. I went with the banana nut bread French toast which consisted of 3 slices of banana bread dipped in batter, topped with more bananas, and served with a side of peanut butter. My fiancé ordered the corn beef hash and was pleasantly surprised at the array of flavors. Pro tip: check-in to this place and get 10% off your dine-in order.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite breakfast spot! Service is always great and food is DELICIOUS!

Romie B.

Yelp
Very open to people watch or feel unnoticed all the same. Family friendly. Delicious. Try famous Chicago Yolk!

Yelp
Very nice place in the 'hood for breakfast! I knew there were several locations throughout Chicago but didn't realize they had other locations across the country, as well. I went with my friends + their child this weekend and they were fantastic with the family. They have a special kids menu, gave her crayons and she was able to color on the menu, plus brought a highchair. When they realized she wasn't feeling the highchair, they brought out a booster instead unprompted. Our server was seriously cheery for 9am on a Sunday, very attentive and overall a lovely server. My cup of coffee never went below half full - it was great! And bottomless coffee ran us $3, woohoo. Besides my lovely hot joe, I had the Chicken and Waffles off their expansive menu for $12.50. Their menu is huge so it was hard to pick what to get. It's great because I could go back every other week for the next year and never get the same thing! My dish was interesting because it was any regular ol' waffles but rather waffles with bacon in them! Then a piece of juicy boneless fried chicken laying on that, all topped with a sausage gravy. Loved this dish and it was so large it made both breakfast and dinner for me! All in all, excellent meal with no wait on a Sunday with my friends within walking distance of home. I'll most definitely be back soon!

Yelp
This is the little guy and Zi's favorite breakfast spot. We always get a booth, cozy up like it's home and watch a movie while enjoying our breakfast. We absolutely love the strawberry orange juice. This is our first visit back since the pandemic. Social distancing is taking place and they require that you wear a mask. Our server was very polite. He checked in often. We practically order the same thing every time. Only this time we didn't do the strawberry chocolate chip waffle. I ordered scramble with ham, kale, and cheese, cheesy grits, and a stack of pancakes for us to share. I'm not sure if they got a new chef, but my eggs were super runny. There was a puddle of green liquid when I was done. The grits were runny as well. The pancakes were perfect. Despite this experience this one time, I still will return and recommend. On our way out the staff usually treat my son to a sticker and a mint. He was sad to see the jars weren't on the cashiers desk. The young lady pull a jar of mints from behind the desk and put a smile back on his face!

Yelp
When we visit our girls Yolk is the morning go to spot for breakfast, never disappoint. The Chorizo is my go too.

SatieBre S.

Yelp
Service was good, however the food was not great at all. In comparison to the other Yolk locations where I ordered the same meal, the food we received was bland and not nearly the same quality as I expected. The potato's were not cooked all the way, and the pesto egg bagel sandwiches we ordered had very little pesto, a single wilted tomato slice, and a dry burnt bagel. I also found a hair stuck on the edge of my plate. Definitely going to stick to going to the Lincoln Park location instead of this one.

Yelp
My friends and I came here for brunch this morning and had a great experience. We had to wait about 40 mins until a seat was available, wasn't ideal but it also wasn't a terrible wait. After the wait it was smooth sailing from there! We had the sweetest waitress (Maria, I believe) who was a joy to talk to. She was friendly, respectful, and attentive. Everybody deserves a server like Maria! The food was pretty good and the portions were nice and big, it quickly filled me up. I had the "California Omelette" with seasoned potatoes and an English muffin (the potatoes and muffin were included with the omelette). They give you a lot and the prices are very affordable. My bill was no more than $25, can't beat it! Also, the food was really well cooked and tasty! Really great place to have breakfast or brunch, their menu also has a lot of great options. Give this place a go, I'm sure you'll love it!

Yelp
They were not accommodating to vegetarians or vegans. There is an upcharge for removing meat and substituting a vegetable in its place. This was true even after speaking with the manager, Zoe, who stated their vegan options were only oatmeal and a side of fruit and that, "Taki doesn't really cater to vegans."
