Where to Eat Korean Food in Denver | Eater Denver

"What is Chinese-Korean cuisine? For an armchair introduction, click here. For a hands-on, face-in introduction, hit up this neighbor to Seoul (see below), where the richly earthy jajangmyeon (noodles in porky black-bean sauce) has a veritable cult following and the jjambong deserves one, especially among hotheads, who will happily swear the shellfish-noodle soup must have been ladled from a cauldron of hellfire." - Ruth Tobias

Everything was absolutely wonderful. Service was excellent and everyone was so kind. Food was incredible for the value. Big portions and tastes so good. Will definitely have to go again.

Google
The food here is 10 put of 10. It is absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is great, but it's really the dishes that make it unforgettable. You must try their black bean noodles, spicy jjamppong, and especially the Yang Jang Pi — it's a standout!

Ted Hummel

Google
I got one of the soups, it was full of seafood and delicious. The dish is called JJAM BONG. The food came quickly and the staff was friendly. It was a great value, too. Lots of seafood and veggies. I was satisfied and full.

Google
We use to order Tonkotsu from this restaurant for years- The restaurant has changed hands, but I am not sure when….We use to get 2 Tonkatsu dinners for 28.00 . Which I thought was a reasonable price- the dinners come with the katsu- 2 sauces, side salad dressed with thousand island dressing and a side of rice. This order included those items with 2 sides of rice and an order of gyoza ( goonmandu ) and it now costs 55.00. Is it worth the difference in price now…? The sides of rice are in a much smaller container than before. Also the salads are smaller. I would say if the food was considerably better - maybe, but the food is exactly the same as it was before. An increase of 27.00 dollars.. The food is good and always has been, but you will have to make that decision for yourselves.

Google
In-laws like this place so given them a try. The sea food dry ja Jang (item 4) was okay but not that stand out. Lack the fried Ja Jang favor and seafood are frozen bag. Portion is good. Kkan Pung Shrimp also just okay, thick fry coating takes up most weight a d spaces render the overall favor. May be Jjam Bong would have better taste as in-laws suggested. Use plastic cup to serve hot/warm water.

Google
Can't believe we didn't visit sooner! Amazing food, loved the jajangmyeon and jjam bong, can't wait to bring the rest of the family!

Google
Such great authentic korean food ! I totally recommend it.

Google
Little hole in the wall, but very delicious. The service is excellent, everyone is extremely respectful and nice. The food is given out out in big portions which is extremely appreciated. Most of the time I dine in, but this last time I had take out. Everything was so thoughtfully packaged! The ingredients were all separated making the meal feel fresh when we arrived home.
google avatar

Yelp
Portion sizes are huge here! The kkan pung shrimp is always a winner but we've actually never ordered anything that wasn't delicious! This is Korean/Chinese and while most of the dishes lean towards the Korean side there is definitely some Chinese flare added in. Service is great, they are always attentive and friendly. The restaurant is clean, open space and always have ample seating for any sized group.

Yelp
Pretty good service and food. Recommend the Jjamppomg fried rice and fried sweet potato jjahjhang. The fried sweet potato can be pretty filling so recommend sharing with someone else. Chill casual atmosphere.

Yelp
Omg this place has my taste buds for tang soo yuk (sweet and spicy fried pork), spicy seafood soup called jjamppong, and black bean noodles called jjajjamyung. Their fired chicken is honestly soooo good - way better than the other Korean friend chickens places in the area. And soooo cheap for the amount of chicken you get! Highly recommend trying this place out. I think I heard they got new ownership, but still looks the same. Anyways, their noodles are way better than when I previously visited. Service is sooo quick and fast. I cannot recommend this place enough for Korean Chinese cuisine cravings.
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
Great customer service. Very friendly server. Ordered a jjampong. The soup was yummy and had a thicker textured. Not watery like other places. However, not much seafood ingredients and the shrimp and mussel both had the shell on so it was inconvenient to eat.
google avatar

Liz C.

Yelp
This is a classic place in Aurora for some Korean-Chinese comfort food. It seemed like the go-to menu on the item was the Donkatsu (Pork and Chicken options). The staff are friendly, there is plenty of seating and parking, and the prices are reasonable. In terms of the taste, I think this place gets a 3/5 but considering how BIG their portions are, they definitely get an additional star. I would say that if you are ambitious, you can even save half of your dish for another meal or be super full for 1 meal. Overall, I would recommend this place for a big group of hungry friends!
google avatar

Thao T.

Yelp
They have the best sweet and sour crispy pork in CO. Portions are really generous for all the dishes we got. Service was quick and attentive. We will be back!
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
짬뽕 was good...decent flavor. Would have liked to try 간짜장면 but wasn't with anyone to order it. 새우깡 봉 was awesome and the 떡볶이 was alright. Surprised they had zero 반찬 not even 김치.

Yelp
Besides P&Y Cafe mentioned last time, Yong Gung on South Havana is another Korean Chinese restaurant that has been in business for a while and also a local favorite. Compared to P&Y Cafe's simplicity, the renovated Yong Gung is roomier and has a warmer and more modern feel. The menu is similar with Ja Jang Myeon (noodles in black bean sauce with pork) , Jjam Bong (spicy soup with seafood and pork)and sweet & sour pork as their most popular items, but the chef here added some twists to quite a few staples. Here are their sweet potato Ja Jang Myeon and sweet & sour pork.

Yelp
Had dinner here yesterday and was not disappointed. The server was friendly, sat us quickly and was extremely attentive. I drink lots of water and I never had to ask for more water. We got combo A that comes with black bean noodles, sweet and sour pork and a stew (that I don't remember the name of) the black bean noodles are my favorite here because they add soo much onion. Also ordered spicy rice cakes as a side/ app. I would say this was on the spicier side for someone who doesn't like spicy - I would not recommend. Almost forgot! They revamped their look and had a large projector with music videos. I enjoyed the vibes too ^_^ 5/5 because it is great value and always tasty. I would say the food here is always consistent.
google avatar

Travis P.

Yelp
The best fried rice I've tried in the Denver area. Drinks are very reasonably priced - and that's before the happy hour special! Service is fast and friendly too. And where else do you see music videos on a giant screen while you're dining?
google avatar

Jonathan Y.

Yelp
Large space with plenty of seating. Server was attentive and did her best to accommodate our large group. They even took our request to play a Korean birthday song. Housemade noodles were the cherry on top to the tasty noodle dishes. They really delivered on the heat. The breading on the fried meat dishes was crispy. My only issue was the pork used in the sweet and sour was not the typical cut used but the flavors were still good. A must try for Korean style Chinese food!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants here in Aurora. I feel like this restaurant gets better and better. The spicy brisket jjam bong was spicy and so delicious. It was spicy but not that spicy were you can't taste the flavors. Is a most have! If you have been in Korea you know you need to have the Sam Sun Gan Ja jang and the sweet & sour pork is the perfect combination. The service is excellent! The waitress who got us the table was super nice and always with a smile on her face. The ambiance was very chill barely people at the time I went. Honestly if you are around Aurora don't forget to go around this restaurant. You will not regret it. Pure flavors! Amazing service!
google avatar

Yelp
Very good spicy stir fried seafood noodles and brisket noodle soup. I've been here multiple times. I'm never disappointed.

Yelp
I came to this part of Havana on a Friday for lunch. Not much action was happening around the shopping strip and I was looking for any fried chicken. I found Yong Gong after being familiar with a couple KBBQ restaurant in the same area. The restaurant is clean and inviting. As I was seated the only other table that had patrons paid and left. I was the only one there for the majority of my meal and felt like a VIP. Granted, I went for a late lunch/early dinner so it was most likely past the lunch rush. My meal came exactly how I wanted and the portion was big enough to feed a baby dinosaur! My chicken was spiced perfectly with a hint of sweet and garlic. The chewy noodle bits (forgot what they were called!) were also amazing. The danmuji (Korean yellow pickled daikon radish) and onions were awesome too. Food and service was great and I certainly will keep this place on my radar. Price is a bit higher but the portions make up for it. You could easily split each dish up to at least 2 or possibly 3 meals!

Yelp
Yong Gung is a Korean Chinese fusion restaurant located in Aurora, Colorado. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere and is a great place to go for a delicious and affordable meal. The service at Yong Gung is attentive and friendly. The staff is always happy to make recommendations and help you choose the perfect dish. The menu at Yong Gung features a wide variety of Korean Chinese fusion dishes. There is something for everyone, whether you're in the mood for noodles, rice, or seafood. The drinks at Yong Gung are also delicious. you can get two drinks for the price of one. The flavors at Yong Gung are more on the sweet side. If you're looking for a spicy meal, you may want to try a different restaurant. However, if you enjoy sweet and savory flavors, you'll love the food at Yong Gung. My favorite dish at Yong Gung is the fried chicken. The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Overall, Yong Gung is a great place to go for a delicious and affordable meal. The service is attentive, the food is flavorful, and the drinks are cold. I highly recommend checking it out.

Yelp
Haven't been in a minute so we came to have lunch. He went for his normal of jjangmyeon and I had jjambong. They were nice and took out the squid for me. The decor photos have changed and it makes the place more classy. Servers are nice. We had a nice meal and came away satisfied. Parking right up front and restroom clean.
google avatar

Melanie T.

Yelp
This place used to be my go to Korean restaurant but I haven't been here in a while and something has changed about the food. The jjajangmyeon is still good along with the salad and crab wontons. So those are items you should order. However, the spicy fried chicken and the sweet sour pork have changed. The spicy fried chicken wasn't crunchy. It was not like the double fried chicken what KFC are known for. It was soft and there was a dash of sesame seeds on our order. The chicken pieces were a lot bigger too compared to when ordered them last year. The sweet sour pork had more veggies on it than pork. It was just okay. I would only come back for black bean noodles.
google avatar

Catherine C.

Yelp
Had a craving for jjajangmyeon for the longest time, and decided to order it through Uber eats. The prices are a lot steeper on there compared to in store it seems (18.99) but there was a BOGO deal that made it worth it. The sauce was generously portioned and super flavorful. My only wish is that there would've been more side veggies for two portions.
google avatar

Frann B.

Yelp
My first time here! I was greeted immediately and sat down. The server was very welcoming and answered all of my questions. I ordered Sam Sun Gan Ja Jang. Loved it! The noodles were perfectly cooked and the pork was tender. The sauce was sweet with vegetables in it. It wasn't spicy, but tasty. The restaurant was very bright and clean! It wasn't busy, but after I arrived more people came in including families. Lot's of Korean dishes to choose from. They offer many appetizers and a great selection of Soju! They offered many varieties of Soju and soda. I chose hot green tea. I liked the way the menu was set up and had pictures of each dish. Everything looked good. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and especially families because you can share, nice portion size. I will be back to try other dishes. Everything is cooked to order, so it comes out piping hot! Looking forward to bringing some friends with me!

Yelp
100!!!! Definitely recommend. The food the service is amazing! We love the jjambbong and jjajangmyun! Definitely a go-to! Other menu items are also phenomenal!
google avatar

MinhTho N.

Yelp
I've been to Yong Gung multiple times, and they delivered every time! Yummy food, fair price, generous portion, quick and friendly service. The only thing I'd say is the restaurant is kinda dimly lit, so you got more of a soju/bbq bar vibe instead of a family restaurant. I'd def come back!
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
I've been going to this place for Korean/Chinese food since I was a kid! It has always been reliable and I've liked the food. While it isn't the best Korean-Chinese food I've had ever, it's still pretty good. My friends and I enjoyed it and talked about how we would definitely come back. For three people, we got one of the combos and had a few leftovers. Worth the price and the service was nice. I asked for extra sweet and sour sauce on the side to dip our pork in and the lady was super kind and kept checking in on us. There's nothing special about the ambiance about the restaurant. The only downside of this place is how busy the parking lot can get, especially during dinner time. It can be hard to find parking, so just be prepare for that.

Alejandra M.

Yelp
Delicious ! Came here during a snowy day and got the JJAM Bong. Great portion size with just the right amount of spice. Definitely coming back

Yelp
First of all I have to say I am kicking myself for not trying this place sooner! The food was FANTASTIC. We honestly didn't have a single thing that wasn't tasty and we ordered a lot to try it all out. The pork Katsu was perfectly breaded and crispy and paired beautifully with the cabbage salad that it was served with. We also ordered the Jajangmyeon and I could eat that everyday if I could! It had a thick sauce that coated the noodles in a lusciously rich, porky, black bean goodness I also recommend the Tteok-bokki here. Honestly the best spicy rice cake I have yet to find in Colorado! It was a perfect balance of spicy and sweet while still having a kick unlike most Tteok-bokki found in other restaurants in town. So if you like it spicy and find most people to make it far too sweet I suggest you try it out. And another taste bud show stopper is the Jam Bong Seafood Soup. The flavor profile was complex, full of umami and overall mouthwatering. As for the service our waitress was super speedy and on top of it! Never had to ask for a refill or a straw or anything she was 3 steps ahead of us the entire time. I highly recommend this establishment, the food is phenomenal, the service is speedy and the ambiance is cozy while still being trendy but not overly flashy. 10/10 would recommend

Caroline J.

Yelp
If you're in Aurora, this is a MUST! The atmosphere, the service, THE FOOD is amazing!! I always recommend this place to any friends and family in town. Def a hidden gem!
google avatar

Anh N.

Yelp
Nice little Korean spot! According to my boyfriend, one of their main focuses is the black bean noodles. They do a really great job with them! I really enjoy those noodles. Their service is also quick and the space is very casual. I love coming here when I'm specifically craving those noodles! I tried my boyfriend's jjampong and that was delicious as well!
google avatar

Yelp
Looking for a specific restaurant for Jajangmyeon and this place keeps popping up. P&Y Cafe was closing for the day and I needed to make a stop at M-Mart... so Yong Gung it is. The portions are huge, glad we shared a bowl of Ganjajang and medium sized Tang Su Yuk (Sweet & Sour Pork) for the 2 of us. The food was delicious and the portions are huge, I wish the pork was a little bit crispier before sauced but overall the food was yummy, portion size awesome and the service was amazing too. I'll def be back for other dishes to try, sounds like crab rangoon is a must try.
google avatar

Tina H.

Yelp
Hands down THE place to go for Korean Chinese food. We've tried jajangmeon many other places in town, but this is by far the best. This is also the only place we've found kkan pung shrimp done the right way and MAN, THEY DO IT RIGHT! My four year old asks to drive across town to eat here all the time. We took our Korean family from Cali here for lunch and even they were impressed. They eat in LA's KTown regularly and said the food was really good. Highly recommended. Come here. Get the two dishes mentioned above. You won't be sorry.

Leah P.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Ja Jang Myeon forever. This is the first restaurant I knew that serve this noodles. The Ja Jang Myeon is good. The best was the Kkan Pung Shrimp. It was crunchy and just perfect. The fried rice is ok. I will definitely come back to eat the Ja Jang Myeon and Shrimp dish again.
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
Nothing wrong with this place for their black bean noodles (짜장면), and their spicy seafood noodle (짬뽕) is very tasty. However, their sweet and sour pork (탕수육) is a mess here. Should have taken a picture, but wasn't too impressed with the presentation to even bother. The fruits and veggies that were on top of it seemed a little too old, especially the pineapples as they looked super dried out. We proceeded to eat anyway, and immediately knew the pork wasn't fresh. It was hard and chewy, and def had that old pork taste. My gf was immediately put off by it and didn't eat more of it. I was hungry and their sauce was good, so I ate a little more than she did. Well, we both got sick from it few hours later, me with the worse stomach ache. The two stars is from their main Korean-Chinese noodle dishes as they tasted fine. As for their sweet and sour pork, I'm sure they had an off day but I wouldn't risk getting it again.
google avatar

Ee O.

Yelp
Tried out Yong Gung as we were craving Korean food. The young man that waited on us was very very sweet and efficient. Food was very good, loved the fried chicken and liked the tteokbokki more than the jajjangmyeon. Will definitely come back to try other dishes as well.

Monica C.

Yelp
Great food, I love the glass noodles The service was good The ambience was cozy and nice

Alex S.

Yelp
Service is great. Food comes out fast. But the food is mediocre at best. Noodles overcooked Regular jjajjang was not flavorful Jjambong was not good Used to be decent. But cooks/recipes changed or something
google avatar

Julia L.

Yelp
Yong gung is my favorite jajangmyeon spot in all of the denver area! They provide a generous amount of the black bean sauce with noodles. This dish pairs perfectly with tangsuyuk. Excited to come back and try the jjamppong next time!
google avatar

Darren B.

Yelp
The service here was fast and very personable, I was really pleased with how fast, but courteous the entire crew was. With so many options it was hard to pick what dish I wanted to try, so I went with my tried and true: combination fried rice. I always go with something simple to start out with, but this fried rice was the best I ever had, and it's going to be really hard not ordering it again when I come in again. Thank you Yong Gung for being my go-to spot for my Korean-Chinese food cravings!
google avatar

Anna S.

Yelp
We came in on a random Tuesday night and had the best experience! Our server was super sweet and accommodating, and the vibes were great even for an empty restaurant. And the food! Wow. We ordered the combo B thinking we would easily split everything and we were laughably correct. The katsu platter was MASSIVE (and so tasty -- I was skeptical getting katsu here but would totally get again. The salad was even delicious), as were the jjambong and jjajangmyun. We ate (and drank soju) until we literally thought we'd explode -- and there are still plenty of leftovers in the fridge! I'd say we found one of our staples in Aurora.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Love their black bean noodles here, every time I go here that is what I order! You guys have to try it!

Felicia C.

Yelp
Service is great. Our server was attentive. Food comes with good portion and taste. It was quiet when we arrived.

Hannah C.

Yelp
Glad we found this place. Ja-jang-myun and fried chicken tasted awesome ! Good background music. Clean and bright. Will be back for sure
google avatar

Lily T.

Yelp
The portion was HUGE! And the prices were cheap. Very friendly service and quick. We were craving for korean chinese good while we were traveling in Denver. This place totally hit the spot. We had the jjajjangmyun (black bean sauce with noddle) and tang suyuk beef and the jjambomg (spicy seafood noddle soup) and it was so good. The jjajjangmyun was especially delicious. The noodles were cooked just right with some chewiness. It was even better than some of the ones I've had in NYC and NJ. And did I mention how big the portions were? We couldn't finish what we ordered. And for vegetarians, you can get the black bean sauce without meat! The only thing that wasn't so good was the tangsuyuk beef. It was over fried and hard. Overall it was a great yummy place for very cheap price. Definitely recommended
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
It took me a while to find my favorite jjajangmyeon spot but I'm glad it did! Portions are big and packed with flavor. The sauce has a good mix of onions, black beans and pork. I've been ordering take out since COVID19 happened and they never disappoint. I also enjoy their sweet and sour pork as it was the first fish I have ordered from them. I like how they separate the sauce from the deep fried pork because it prevents the pork from getting soft and soggy and you get a good crispy bite; I wish more places did this with take out! I highly recommend if you're in the area and craving some good jjajangmyeon.
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
// Summary A solid Korean restaurant that seems to serve a solid jajangmyeon, jampong, and tangsuyuk amongst other things - a rare find in the area! // Meal Experience I came here and ordered the jajangmyeon because I'm on a mission to find the best non-KBBQ food for whenever I have my various Korean food cravings. Yong Gung might have won the battle. Sure, it's maybe not the same quality that you may find in LA or the Bay Area, but sometimes beggars can't be choosers, and Yong Gung's jajangmyeon is more than sufficient to fill my needs. I need to try the tangsuyuk - so I'll be back for sure. // Service Service was pretty good overall. Order was taken and food brought out in a timely manner. // Ambiance It's a pretty large restaurant with plenty of indoor seating, no outdoor seating. There's nothing particularly noteworthy about the interior that detracts or enhances your experience. // Convenience It's in a plaza with a parking lot, but that lot seems to fill up a bit as there's a bunch of other establishments there. You should be able to find a spot.

Hayan B.

Yelp
1.5 gen. Korean review - Haven't been to Yong Gung for about a year and tried it again today. I can only speak to the Jjambong. Spicy seafood soup. Which is my favorite and try as I might I can't seem to order anything else. It was very very good. A rich fiery red broth, slightly smoky, and piping hot. Exactly as it should be. They have alcohol now... Hallelujah!! Soji, Korean beer and domestic beer. New owner is very nice and quite young. As is the Korean music and updated decor. Menu is exactly the same and the prices seem to have dropped a couple bucks on a few items. Maybe not can't remember exactly. I love it and will be coming back.
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
This place is delicious. They food has a great taste without being too over bearing or high in MSG. Every dish I've tried so far has been spot on. Will be visiting here regularly.
google avatar

Jill T.

Yelp
Food simply was not good. Lo mein noodles were really really slimy. There was no salt on our edamame. Upset at the fact we paid a lot of money when the ratings were so high.
google avatar

Manish S.

Yelp
My go to for Korean Chinese. Spicy seafood noodle is my go to and sweet and sour chicken and pork.
google avatar

Li-Shin L.

Yelp
This place was a gem! Went here to get some Jambong and Jajangmyeon due to craving it. This place did not disappoint and everything was so delicious and the portion was generous! The price was also reasonable! We ended up getting a combination deal where it came with the two dishes alongside Sweet and Sour Pork! Not to say, there were also two side dishes that came along with the meals. The portion was big enough to share among three people and the price was about $30! Definitely will come back here when I'm back in Colorado!

Mandy H.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to go. The food is awesome and the staff is even better. It is a long drive for me, but totally worth it. The staff always greet us with a smile and remember us. I would highly recommend!
google avatar

Oscar S.

Yelp
Excellent lo main. Service is very friendly and only locals go there. Their side dishes are good. Great ambience, super clean. Definitely better than the restaurant next door ( pho 75). Highly recommended.
