York Kabob deserves high praise for their exceptional customer service. Despite the initial oversight of forgetting to include the stew in my order, they promptly rectified the situation by delivering two kinds of stew to my doorstep at no extra charge. Use Less salt 🧂!! I want to like the quality BUT why everything is Super SALTY!! All of the kebabs, chicken & even rice 🍚… I told them before, but they don’t listen to customers… I wanted to give them a chance again but I regret it! I am still young and healthy but I feel my blood pressure go high every time I eat here! I’m hoping this review makes them to think they can offer a healthier and more delicious food! I can’t eat this!

Today my pregnancy craving led me to this wonderful place! Upon entering I was warmly greeted by the owner himself. His wife also greeted me at the cash register. I asked her what she recommended which was the house salad- tomatoes, cucumber, mixed greens, shredded carrot. I added chicken to it. As they prepared my order I had a nice chat with the owner about his business, family. He felt like an old friend! Took my food to go and promised I'd be a regular. Salad- veggies so fresh everything was bright and CRISPY. Dressing was light and vinegary just how I like it. The chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked. Tasted great like bbq. This is fresh healthy food! I highly recommend this place and will be back many times.

Great Service. The place is extremely clean. They zeroed out all those annoying tip options on the checkout tablet; kudos for doing that. Lentil soup was very delicious. I ordered falafel wrap which was ok. My fries were a little soggy and not crispy. I would return here for sure and get a kabob next time.

Visit was Birthday treat from daughter, who ordered for us inside while I waited at one of the couple of tables outside. We ate outside (had doggie with us), so can't speak for Service or Atmosphere. I can say that my meal (Lamb, rice, salad, babaganoush, pitta) was hot and delicious. Would absolutely go again and recommend.

This was my second time coming here. Last time was amazing so I came back for more. Really disappointed. The chicken was very overdone to the point of jerky texture and way too salty. The steak kabob also dry and salty. Falafel were more like chickpea fritters and missing the spices and flavor that make falafel what they are, oddly the falafel were missing the salt. The rice and salad were good and the service is amazing. I’ll try once again - maybe tonight was an off night.

It's a shame these guys aren't even trying. I arrived at 11:25 to pick up my online order scheduled for 11:30. 2 men; one 50+, the other in his late 30's were sitting outside at one of the tall tables just outside the restaurant that opened at 11. No customers were inside, only a 50's woman behind the counter. The younger man came inside to help package up my order - I was on my way by 11:30 - this is the good part. I ordered the ....................... The beef was plentiful yet clearly cooked on another day. Dry and lifeless. The salad portion (iceberg lettuce with some spinach leaves with black spots on them) was cleverly placed beneath the beef and right next to the warm rice - rendering it warm. Why it wasn't placed with the slice of raw red onion in a separate compartment - I don't know. Dressing tasted like lemon juice. The tabbouleh tasted fresh - however it lacked flavor and was way too heavy on parsley. The rice was good. The small container of garlic sauce already had a darker, drier top to it - definitely made on another day and left in the container - to serve. Too lazy to even stir day old sauce and place it in the container fresh for the customer? The star of the plate was the chicken. Plump, juicy, tender and well seasoned. My guess - fresh this day. It's sad when they don't even try.

This place is amazing. It was recommended to me. The owner and staff are so friendly and welcoming. We had a hiccup with one of our orders and they were so quick to come up with a solution for my problem. The food is delicious. Definitely worth a try!!! Thanks for everything!!

Not all kebabs are created equally. I really like the juicy, tender beef kebabs here. Their chicken lule is really tasty. Their Shiraz salad is fresh-no mushy cucumbers or tomatoes. They give generous portions.

Several years later, everything was positive. The takeout was nicely arranged in its box, looked appealing, and the salad leaves were fresh. The kabob meat (chicken and lamb) were both wonderfully tender and juicy. The rice was a very charming base. All taken together, the place was delicious and worth the money. This place meets most of these criteria: the wrap I chicken chose from a whole variety of Mediterranean choices was fresh, juicy and I would not hesitate to try more items from the menu; it is comparably pricy (14.21$ with beloved diet coke); but most importantly the service was (despite emptiness of the place and acknowledged by the chef with an apology) exceedingly slow. My car was in the shop and I was starving so we ordered a late lunch via Delivery through DoorDash yesterday. I received $7 off bc it was placed during "happy hour promo" window on the app but still came out to $35 with taxes, fees tip. I ordered the chicken kebab + beef lule kabob combo, medium size Babaganoush and received a free small eggplant tomato dip. The meat was of high quality for sure, but I found the combo to be a bit lackluster for the price $25. I thought the salad would've been a cucumber type when it was just bagged lettuce with a weird vinegar type dressing and some rice. No hummus, or other vegetable or spread side came with it. Note: I could've received the grilled pepper and tomato instead of the salad. The medium size baba ghanouj was also small when comparing with other places (and didn't come with bread). Both dip and garlic spread seem to have a lot of ground pepper in it. I also didn't realize that this would be served with lavash instead of pita bread - but it makes sense learning later that this is a more a Persian establishment. Overall, it was a decent meal, but I probably will try other places.

Always delicious and freshly made. The customer service is always friendly and appreciative of your business. My husband and I share the beef combo with an extra side of hummus. Very large portions. My favorite is the cucumber yogurt salad (best I've ever had) and the garlic sauce. 10/10 recommend

The service was great. The man behind the counter was friendly and knowledgeable. He gave me good advice on what to try and explained some unfamiliar items to me. He told me it would take about 15 minutes to come out and he was spot on. I ordered the chicken thigh skewer combo with babaganoush on the side. I sometimes find chicken boring, but this was juicy and flavorful. Especially with the Sumac seasoning he recommended I put on. The babaganoush was outstanding. I've tried babaganoush many times and this one stood out. Delicious smoky, creamy flavor. I got my combo with a salad. I'm sure rice would have been a better pairing, but I was going for the healthy option. The salad was really basic, served under the chicken with a light dressing. It seems like most of his customers order takeout online, for what that's worth. The seating area is very clean and spacious, I was comfortable eating here. This is a great lunch spot if you're doing laundry next door. Give it a try, I hope you like it as much as I did!

Delicious! Great chicken kabobs- tender and well-seasoned. They have new chicken bowls for ten bucks- includes rice and tomatoes and a small pita. Perfect size and price for lunch. Friendly owners even gave me some lentil soup while I waited.

Greeted at the door, with a warm smile, the owners hospatiality and kindness were unmatched to any other restaurant. When it comes to Falafels I'm a harsh critic since I make them from scratch at home, but his falafels were delicious, crunchy and seasoned to perfection. The falafel sandwich was filling, and tasty. I'm going to definitely be coming back to eat here again. This restaurant is a Diamond hidden in the ruff.

Ordered a luleh combo plate with 2 extra sides that came out to $32. The plate comes with 4 skewers of luleh (2 chicken and 2 beef) and lots of rice. Everything else is a very sad portion. $4 for a handful of fries, $4 for a single bbq tomato and pepper. The plate comes with two slivers of lavash, enough to wrap one out of 4 pieces of meat. The chicken luleh was one of the best I've had and I've had a lot of chicken luleh, the beef was pretty dry and not so much flavor but the garlic sauce helped. The hummus is very tasty. I would definitely be back and order just the chicken luleh with half rice, half salad and a side of hummus. Skip the barbecued veggies and fries.

This is more of an update the guy that works there he's still great but I have to say the way they changed the menu I'm not a fan. What we use to get for around $34.00 for 2 plates is now $50.00. I understand that everything went up but that's a bit too much for what you are getting. You only get one side now as well. You can still get a 2 item combo at Massis for under $20.00 and their sides are reasonable as well. I don't understand why they are charging so much and they are giving less food. Although it seems to be a trend everyone is giving less and charging more. The food was always good so if you don't mind paying the higher prices I do recommend them. I just can't justify the prices anymore.

We found York Kabob on Yelp as we were driving home because everyone felt like eating Mediterranean food on the spur of the moment. And, what a happy discovery it was! Everything we ordered was really fresh, delicious, and perfectly salted for our taste. The higher quality ingredients and the cook's care and competence are immediately obvious when you bite into the food. In particular, I want to call out the hummus and the basmati rice -- 100% worth going out of the way for!! Also, the staff was super friendly and hospitable. We'll be back soon. I no longer live in the area but stopped by for lunch and had to reiterate my praises for York kabob. Everything is made fresh in house and you can really tell when it comes to attention to detail and quality. All the meat is always fresh, juicy, tender and well seasoned. You can count on your meal being made fresh to order. I've never had anything that was dry, chewy or wilted which can sadly be commonplace at other spots. The service is incredible. Both the chef and owner are very personable and care about what they serve you. Highly recommend!

Great little place. Hummus, falafels and dolmas were really good. I had ordered the lamb kabob but they didn't have it, so they upgraded my order to the lamb chop plate. The lamb was nicely seasoned and cooked. Staff was really nice and the food is reasonably priced.

Food is excellent and customer service is great. I've tried a few menu items that are new to me, and they've all been great. The employees are very friendly and I always have an easy time ordering for pickup. The dining in space is nice but I've only ever had takeout. Definitely want to try dining in sometime!

Food and service were excellent. They were very attentive. There was a family home atmosphere which you rarely find. It was our first time there, so it was nice to have items on the menu explained to us. The restaurant was also so easy to spot due to the flying Kabob flag on the corner. I would come here again.

I was in the area hosting an Open House as a Real Estate Agent. I wanted something yummy & healthy to eat before it started so me and my business partner stopped by to pick something up. We both eat Middle Eastern food quiet often & I am middle eastern myself. I have ate kabob since I was 6 years old and I eat it every week. First of all: the meat itself is mediocre at best, I give it a 6. The generic lettuce was filled with the water used to wash it, disgusting. The onion and hummus was okay, nothing special. The price is okay, about $12-14 for a plate, but I wouldn't come here again unless it was the only restaurant in a 10 mile radius. The location apparently is not that great either. I don't know why this place has so many reviews.

After picking my wife from work I told my wife were you like to eat she says anywhere. I decided to check my Yelp app to find a good restaurant to take out. We enjoy Mediterranean crusine very much we try different Mediterranean restaurants each restaurant we been they have different cooking techniques to be different from others. I found a Mediterranean restaurant in Highland Park called York Kabobs it use be U Pick cafe this our first time at the restaurant. We call get some information outside seat they yes but they only two tables it's first come. Then we head to Highland Park we haven't this area of Highland Park for a long time on York Blvd there's lot's of restaurants and food truck and mom's and pop's stand this a melting pot of different nationality serving their food from their country. I saw Fusion Burgers and Donut Friend including Galco aka the soda store on York Blvd. Then we arrive at the restaurant it's in a small shopping center and parking lot is small also. Next to the restaurant is a laundry mat. We step in the restaurant they people in the restaurant waiting for their orders. We look the menu display on the wall and see what we like to order. My wife and I decided order the same item the chicken kabobs and also a salad. They say it will take 15 to 20 minutes to our meal after the 20 minutes was up our meal was ready. I brought it outside where my wife sitting down one of the two tables outside. The food smell really good and I couldn't wait to take a bite of the chicken kabobs. The meal have the chicken kabobs,rice,onion and pita bread and my wife order the same instead of the onion she ask humus. The chicken kabobs have amazing great flavor that Ibreally enjoy very much and was really good combining with onions and the garlic spread with pita bread great flavor combine. My wife enjoy her meal especially the hummus that she enjoy. The side salad was very good I enjoy but my wife say like romaine lettuce better than iceberg lettuce more healthier. We probably come back again.

I cannot rave about this place more! Every time I am craving Mediterranean food, especially Mediterranean chicken, this is my absolute go to place. I've tried many other places but none match the taste of this place. Not only is the food phenomenal, the service is always wonderful. Extremely welcoming and helpful, you can tell they really care about not only the quality of their food but also the people they serve.

My friends and I love York Kabob. We are fans of Middle Eastern food and this kind of Persian food hits the spot for us. I always get the lamb kebab which I adore because it's so tender and a very reasonable price. My friends tend to get chicken kebabs which are also delicious. The plates come with either rice or salad, both of which are perfect. You get to choose a side and we love baba ghanouj, so that's the side we usually get! But the best part, perhaps, is that they make that fantastic garlic paste which we slather all over the meat! Please note that the baba ghanouj is also garlickarific, so you are forewarned. We are crazy about garlic. PS: vegetarians do not despair! They have falafel and a variety of salads, soups, dolma, tabouli, and ghormesabzi.

Hidden gem in all of L.A. and vicinity. Food is really good. Kabobs have the right touch of seasoning, the appetizers are fresh and bright, and the pita is thin and soft but thick enough to hold everything together (meat, hummus and veggies) Even my nephew, the pickiest eater, said "Yum" after every bite. Try it for yourself!

I'm very disappointed to have to write this review. We've been ordering for delivery from York Kabob for several years now. It's always tasty and until now fair value. Today our delivery arrived at a reduced level. The two pieces of flatbread were reduced to one cut in half. The one side on top of your rice and salad is included no more. A side of hummus is now an additional $4.50. The two kabob plate looks like one kabob cut in half. On top of the reduced portion size the price has gone up. If you include the hummus up charge it's gone up hugely in price. So more money for less food Two stars because it's still very tasty

I had a bit of trouble finding this place but when I had called them the owner was kind enough to give me directions. The service was good and friendly and the food was even better. I highly recommend. Get it. Devour it. Love it.
