"Monte-Carlo is famous for its casino, its prince, its clay tennis courts and its gastronomy! The restaurant at the Hotel Métropole pays tribute to Japanese cuisine with premium ingredients and flawless technique. Aromatic soups, sushi and maki are created with a focus on “yoshi” (kindness) by chef Takeo Yamazaki, whose cuisine – more fusion in style than authentically Japanese – has adapted to suit his international guests. It nonetheless remains precise, refined and assertive, as evidenced by the excellent “ghindara no saiko yaki” (fillet of black cod marinated in boiled saki and wrapped in a Japanese magnolia leaf). A real enticement to visit the land of the Rising Sun!" - Michelin Inspector

"In addition to YOSHI, the only Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant on the Riviera, Metropole debuted one of the most anticipated openings in the principality this summer."

Solid 5 Stars! We had a wonderful experience and so many different traditional Japanese dishes, served by the chef on the chef table which I highly recommend sitting. You have a tremendous experience. I‘d definitely go back. Service super cute, with a pinch of humor and you could feel and see they have fun! The chef is just wow! Big big yes ❤️

Food was good but not star experience, the staff seemed to have some tension, and the kitchen/prep area was quite messy (we sat at the bar so we saw everything). Its probably the best Japanese in Monaco, but not one star worthy. Overpriced for “normal”, but market price for Monaco 😅 (just trying to set expectations)

Went for my birthday to have dinner and it was a really nice experience. The place is so well decorated, and the service is exceptional. We tried a sushi plate and some desserts and everything was good. A little bit expensive, but you are in Monaco so these prices are quite normal.

Amazing food and impeccable service. An expensive meal but an enjoyable experience. The quality of the food was only of the best, you can tell be the look, colour and taste of everything we had. Must visit in Monaco.

The food was good, however despite us informing them multiple times of a gluten allergy in our party when our food was brought out we realized they had made a mistake, the staff offered a filmsy excuse for their mistake and brought out an additional dish which we did not feel was up to the standard of the initial dish that they had brought out. Unfortunate as the food was otherwise genuinely delicious.

For Japanese place it’s OK it’s not like anyone that’s not worth going I didn’t like it and the price was in sane to eat a tasting menu that was not fun

Pretty average really. Sashimi is hard to get wrong with the right source. Scallops, prawn, salmon and tuna all over cooked in one course. Sake was average and overpriced. May as well go to Sushi Planet just down the street. Staff were pleasant and helpful but food is definitely not Michelin star level IMO.
