"Oden fashioned in the manner of a simmered dish in kaiseki fare. Toppings such as dried kombu shavings for tofu and ground sesame for soft-boiled eggs are served one piece at a time to offer a twist on familiar flavours. Each serving-dish is different, an influence from the chef’s experience in other cuisines. The meal ends with ramen flavoured with dashi or, taking a page from Edo cooking, peppered rice. Osaka has been a port of call for kombu merchants since the Edo period, and this is a place to savour stewed items from that rich dashi culture." - Michelin Inspector

I visited Yoshitaka in Osaka and had the degustation menu of various oden, along with sashimi and other dishes — all of it was excellent. The oden broth was rich and comforting, and each ingredient had its own delicate flavor, beautifully paired with sake. I was lucky to be the only guest that evening, which made the experience even more special. The restaurant seats around 10 people and, if I am not mistaken, is located on the second floor. Yoshitaka focuses on oden and is Michelin-recommended, making it a must-visit for anyone wanting a true taste of this traditional Japanese dish. A small, hidden gem for authentic Japanese cuisine in Osaka.

This is the best place to get oden during late night around Shinsaibashi. ( Not limited to oden of course) All the food and dishes are amazing. Chef is very talented and specialised in different style, including sashimi, oden, grilled eel and even ramen. I chose omakase menu and that was fantastic. Sake collection also great! Foreigners friendly restaurant as well. They will try their best to use google translate to accommodate you. Overall, A must go restaurant in Osaka!!

Great food and good service. A bit awkward ending our set dinner without dessert or something like tamago at the end but I don't like dessert anyway. I highly recommend to finish the set with some seasonal fruits. Still excellent value given such price as dinner at such convenient location so I'm still giving 5 stars.

On the 2nd floor or a little complex was a bit hard to find since the English name on google doesn’t correspond to the sign but follow the images in the photos here on google for hints!! No English menu, booked on table check for omakase, they have a Japanese menu for ordering individual items. Every single thing we had was so warm, hearty and tasty. Seriously one of the most delicious meals I’ve had, the oden broth is amazing. Aside from the oden the sashimi and grilled fish was a standout 💕 Our food was around 8000yen for omakase, we were so full and so happy. So good. Highly recommend!

Delicious omakase meal with especially delicious oden, excellent sashimi and side dishes. The oden broth ramen was an impressive end but made the food quantity slightly too much for me. The welcome and service is perfect, very friendly but professional. English speakers will have no problems here. Highly recommended.

Stumbled upon this place when craving oden one night. The different oden items were really delicious and beautiful - the egg was amazing and the broth was very flavourful. There isn’t an English menu and the translate app doesn’t work but we followed the chef’s recommendations - we also showed him pictures and requested the different things we wanted. It was the perfect late night oden meal! Chef was super kind and accommodating! Note that finding the restaurant is a bit difficult. It’s located on the second floor of a multi tenant building and they take cash only.
