"The lady who runs this modest-looking Korean restaurant in New Malden doesn’t care if the interiors of this homely spot don’t suit your ‘clean girl’ Instagram aesthetic. The pictures of her daughter with footballers are hung up all around the restaurant for her, not you. The food, however, is for everyone. And once you’ve tried it, the only things you’ll have on your mind are the saucy jajangmyeon and when the server will be back with more excellent pajeon. "You Me Korean in New Malden feels like your aunt’s house. If your aunt knows how to make a top-notch Korean meal with everything from perfectly crispy pajeon to obsessively good jajangmyeon. The homely dining room is filled with photos of the owner’s daughter with football players, and regulars visit with their most socially acceptable version of pyjamas or gym clothes that have never seen the gym. "You. Me. Fried garlic prawns. As long as a meal at You Me Korean involves eating the crispy, hazard-warning-red garlic prawns, you’re doing it right. And the warm hospitality at this New Malden spot is just the cherry on top. Once you visit You Me Korean, you’ll be back here twice a month. It suits every mood: a solo meal including jajangmyeon and black bean sauce-stained clothes. "We wouldn’t recommend a place solely on friendly servers. But if we did, we’d recommend this little Korean spot in New Malden to everyone we meet. Plus it serves excellent traditional Korean dishes you won’t find everywhere else. Things like jajangmyeon—a noodle dish topped with thick black bean and onion sauce—that you’ll want once a week, or dak galbi—a spicy stir-fried chicken dish. And yes the food at You Me Korean, a Korean spot in New Malden, is actually worth crying about—unlike that emotionally unavailable Hinge date who you’ve convinced yourself you’re in love with.
