My family loves eating you zha kueh and my kids especially love eating salted buns. At first when my hubby kept wanting to buy the you zha kueh from this stall, I was like aiya the nice ones are mostly the same with only subtle differences. Anyway we bought 3 you zha kueh, 2 salted buns with sweet red bean and another with glutinous rice. Omg, it is so hard to find salted buns with glutinous rice and I was so glad to be able to find it here.
The you zha kueh was crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside and not filled with only ‘air’ like some others sold out there. The salted bun is really good and has no smell or aftertaste of stale oil at all. This is easily one of the best quality you zha kueh and salted buns that I have ever eaten, because in many stalls these fried stuff often reek of the stale oil which is used to fry dough many times over but this stall doesn’t have that stale aftertaste.
As I was there pretty early, there were only a few people in front of us. However when we finished buying, the queue had gotten longer.
Loved the fritters and the salted buns, would travel all the way there just to eat these again 😋
