Great value for the family!
We came to here on a Saturday around 1pm with my hubby and kids, and it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise! The staff were friendly and helpful—most spoke Mandarin, but they made sure to find someone who could communicate with me in English/Cantonese. The place felt cozy, casual, and clean (including the bathroom was spotless—and requires a code).
If you enjoy pickled or slightly sour flavors in your food, this place is definitely for you! Their broths and sauces have that appetizing tang that really wakes up your taste buds.
Highly recommend their combo meals! For around $21–$24 per person, you get a drink (non-specialty options like mango passion fruit tea or hot tea), an appetizer, and your main fish dish. Such great value these days!
Here’s what we tried:
* French fries – Surprisingly great, crispy like McDonald’s!
* Crispy pork – A bit on the chewy side; I think I’ll try the popcorn chicken next time.
* Mango passion fruit tea– Too sweet for me, but hubby really enjoyed it.
* Hot tea – Loved their paper cup design that keeps all the tea leaves at the bottom—very clever!
* Chili oil fish soup– Nicely balanced! Not too spicy, but with a gradual, warming heat that builds in a pleasant way.
* Scallion sauerkraut fish – The basa fish was fresh and tender, and the broth with napa cabbage and bok choy hit the spot—perfect for a chilly day.
*fried brown sugar mochi - light fried on the outside and soft on the inside with the warm brown sugar ooze inside.
* Herbal jelly dessert– A complimentary surprise at the end—such a refreshing way to finish the meal!
With inflation these days, it’s hard to find a meal that’s both tasty and affordable, but this place delivers. Great find for families!
