I don't live in Seattle, and with everything happening this year in my life, on top of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the election crap the current IPOTUS has been pulling, I totally forgot about all the birthdays this December. Oh the shame of it! There are 3 in my family alone, in first 7 days; how could I forget that?
Dec. 7th is a national day of remembrance (Pearl Harbor Day), the radio kindly reminded me, and it's also my older sister's birthday. Well, it hit me hard as I realized she was turning 65 this year, and I panicked! I hadn't even sent her a card, oh no, no, no. So, while thinking of what I'd say when I called her, I chose to also order a last minute birthday gift of potted live succulents for her, and a separate cut-flower bouquet from my adult daughters, who also didn't know she was turning 65.
Not knowing the florists in Seattle at all, and not wanting to spoil the surprise by calling for recommendations from my niece (who might not know), I checked Yelp and looked for ones close to, or in, her neighborhood. The one in her neighborhood didn't open as early as Young Flowers, so I called Young's first. Young's was able to put together two lovely orders for me, and got them delivered that very day! Holy Basil, now that's wonderful service!
Turned out my sister was away for a couple days to celebrate it with her husband, alone; so, my niece received the deliver for her. However, upon my sister's return today, she snapped the photos below and texted them to me.
My sister's comment was, "Simply Gorgeous!"
We're all very pleased. Thank you so much Young Flowers!
Now I need to send my niece a belated gift and b-day card too. No idea what to give a Sophomore in college who's stuck taking all her classes online at home, due to the pandemic. Maybe a flowering plant to make her room feel fresher, and she can take it with her when she moves out, eventually.
Highly recommend!
