Google
Went into Young Guns to get parts for my latest AR builds (16” USPSA rifle and 11.5” home defense pistol). Drew and Eli set me up with all the necessary parts and even offered useful advice on the builds. Both ARs are up and running. Thanks, Young Guns!

Google
I took my concealed carry class through Young Guns and had a great experience! The class size was small, which made for a more personal and focused learning environment. The instructors were very knowledgeable and made the material easy to understand. The staff in the shop were also incredibly helpful, taking the time to suggest firearms that would be a good fit for me. Highly recommend!

Google
Hard pressed to find a better gun shop in wake county. Employees are fantastic and go out of their way to help with any issues you have. Have bought multiple from them and every time is easy, pleasant, and great banter from all. Highly recommend

Google
I buy everything here. Probably the only store in the area where you can simply browse the available inventory via the Internet, order what you want online, and get it quickly. I tried many stores and found Young Guns Inc. the best for modern firearm shopping. Probably the closest to Amazon you can get in this industry. Plus, they do everything other stores do - but you don't have to overpay for various bells and whistles. Very lean, super practical. So prices are often much better than if you purchase at the vendor's website. Visiting them is always the best part of my day, as they are super friendly, expertly knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive people working there. Lots of value in this hidden gem.

Google
I walked in to buy my first rifle after a few weeks of homework. The guys at Young Guns were helpful, curious about my goals, and helped me pick out a rifle that fitted my goals perfectly, and came in well under budget so I could buy a nice sight, sling, and case. Came in just to browse, but I will definitely be a returning customer.

Google
As a first time buyer. We were meticulous about where we wanted to be able to not only browse and shop, but also find individuals who were knowledgeable and respectful. They were patient and took the time out to help me find the right guns. Great staff!

Google
outstanding selection, fantastic service, and very competitive prices. Full service. Highly recommendthem. it’s easy to miss from the road. It’s one of the shops in a series of shops in Plaza 55

Google
This is a great shop. I had a great experience. The salesman was super knowledgeable and very helpful. The selection was huge. Shop was clean. I was able to find a great deal on a lower. I am very happy and look forward to shopping here again! Edit: Just wanted to show off the final creation. Thank you!

Yelp
Great little fun store. Hubby ordered a gun online and we picked it up here. I think they must do a lot of online transactions. The store is small a jam packed full of ammo and knives and this and that. They don't have a lot of guns but there are a few long guns and hand guns in the case. The guy we dealt with seemed pretty knowledgeable of local politics and gun laws. We are under COVID-19 "social distancing" right now. Thank goodness gun store have been deemed as "essential" so they can stay open. Stop by and check them out. A nice little store.

Yelp
Good little gun store. I have purchased a couple of firearms here as well as used them for FFL transfers.

Christopher L.

Yelp
I don't know what these other reviews are talking about... but my recent trip to this location, in order to pick up a rifle, was very pleasant. The gentleman that helped us were all very kind and respectful. They know their stuff! They have a large selection of ammo. Prices are reasonable, as well. I will solely be using them as my FFL dealer moving forward. I assume the old guy that previous reviews mention is fired... Overall, this place is quite nice

Yelp
Friendly service, wide selection of rifles, pistols, shotguns, and revolvers.Nice selection of knives and tactical accessories. Really cool dog named Tucker greets customers looking over the top from behind the counter. He's a licker not a biter! I will definitely be back and recommend this store. They also offer gunsmithing. Store is clean and neatly organized. Very friendly.

Matthew M.

Yelp
Updated: Went here again recently, Staff aren't friendly, products besides firearms are extremely dusty, outdated. Ammo selection is decent. Prices aren't a deal nor too expensive. Honestly wouldn't go here unless I had too. Nothing changed.

Zelly T.

Yelp
Absolutely love this shop. Everyone there has always been extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful for any and all questions. They're also just great to shoot the shit with (pun intended). Have purchased several firearms here, as well as accessories, and plan to keep coming to Young Guns for all future purchases as well.

Yelp
I came here because I needed a gun. I said that correctly. There's some bad shit headed my way and there's no stopping it. I need a way of defending myself. The guy behind the counter could not be less helpful. He was preoccupied with talking to the other guy "working" there. He didn't show me the guns that I wanted to see and I couldn't even talk because the two idiots working there wouldn't shut up about their political opinions. I left without a gun and no intention to ever return to this chuckle hut.

Yelp
I *was* a happy customer of this shop until today. Around 1130 the door is locked and the old bald fishing vest guy greets me. He asks if I have a mask, I reply "I'm medically exempt". This is a 100% valid exemption. He replies "what is your medical condition?". I reply "I don't have to share that". "Well, I don't have to let you in". "OK", and I walked away. In less than 30 seconds this gentleman not only lost a customer, violated HIPAA, but also just added to the stigma this shop has had for years. A stigma I had never experienced until today. If you look at the business Facebook there is all kinds of chest thumping patriotic bravado....in person they prefer to fold like a cheap suit. Sad. I know this gentleman is not the owner, but I can't imagine the owner has not seen the plethora of negative interactions with this person. I'm sure the owner also knows hes deep in the heart of transplanted Yankee country, in a strip mall no one really goes to, and in all fairness an area with much better shops. You'd think he would have reigned in this Fudd by now. Now, thanks to Mr Fishing Vest Fudd, I took money I was prepared to spend to other local shops and online. I will also be sharing this experience with anyone with open ears. It's a sad day when a store like Walmart honors the law and a place like a gun shop turns away business for no good reason. tl;dr: Take your money elsewhere to a shop that stands behind their word and honors the law.

Daren B.

Yelp
No stars, no good...I've been in this place 3 times. All 3 times with money in the pocket looking to spend some. Walked out with nothing every time. The first 2 times I went in for some information and possibly a new firearm, all the while feeling like I was being judged by the owner for not being a die hard subscriber to the prepper lifestyle if I'm being honest. Quick to have, and offer, his un-warranted opinion...but not much else. This last time I was in it was for some custom gunsmithing and a new upper for my AR. After being in what looked to be an un attended store for a minute or better, I said "hello". Apparently this bothered the old guy since he came waddling out of the back saying I was being "impatient" under his breath with an attitude, like I was bothering him for even being in his store to start with. I stated I wasn't "impatient", I simply wanted to let him know I was there and that I didn't know whether or not he was aware that I had even walked in. I wonder if he's mad that he has clearly spent the better part of his adult life waiting for the world to end or the government to kick his door down and it just never happened. Either way...for being so "impatient"...I sure was patient enough to wait and spend close to $2k else where later that afternoon with an establishment (Fuquay Gun) that acted like they gave a shi*.

Yelp
Stopped in recently because I'm interested in a compact carry 9mm. No other customers in the store. Older guy behind the counter, seemed like the owner. I started talking to him about 3 guns I narrowed my choice to and he said "we don't have any of that". OK, I understand everything handgun related is in short supply, but maybe try to help me? I asked if he had anything the same general size, he said "nope". OK, now I can see pistols in the case that I would have liked to see, but it seemed like this guy really didn't want to sell anything. Had my purchase permit with me, too. Be completely negative and difficult, not wanting to sell merchandise. Interesting business model. First and last time in that place for me.

Yelp
I went there today because the gun store close to my house was out of what I wanted and I was passing by. So I figured would stop and give them another try since it has been a few years since my last visit. I was let in and greeted by a guy in a vest that has been there every time I have , there where 2 other people in the store so they where not very busy. I told him what I wanted and he told me they didn't have it even though I saw it before asking. He got pissy when I pointed it out to him after insisting they didn't have it. This trip was about the same as my last from years previous this same guy with a attitude still works there and thinks he knows everything. He told a lady that was looking at buying a shotgun that it would cost her $300-400 to have a different set of sights put on it which is total BS as it wouldn't have cost half that. I am done with this place after the second bad experience here, there are much better shops around that don't BS their customers and actually care about giving people a good experience. This guy behind the counter is the type that gives gun owners a bad rap.

Sam P.

Yelp
Used Young Guns twice now to transfer purchases. Their prices are fair and seem to be what you'll find at other shops. They have a decent stock of firearms, knives, ammo and other related gear. The three employees I talked with were friendly. My transactions were quick and easy. Definitely a good experience

Taylor S.

Yelp
I'll give them 2 stars because there is actually some stuff in this shop that can be difficult to find in person. That being said, the "Old guy behind the counter" as he is referenced below, is EXTREMELY rude and abrasive. Thankfully the internet exists, so I will just do my shopping there or in Fuquay.

James B.

Yelp
Poor service both times I have gone into Young Guns. The owner/"guy behind the counter" was rude to the point that he seemed bothered that he had a potential customer in shop. This was completely uncalled for since I was the only person in the shop and was actually looking to support a local business rather than just buying what I needed online. I do not recommend this establishment and will not return to it.

Yelp
DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! The employees are rude and acted as if they were the gods of guns. The first time that we went to the store I asked about a certain gun and they told me that if the gun was not in the case they did not have it. I would have expected a nicer tone of voice or perhaps offering to show me another similar gun. The gun that I asked about was listed on the window and they just didn't have any in stock. The employees act as if they are too busy to help customers even if there are no customers in the store. I had heard from several people that this store was awful, but had to experience it for myself. I will drive an extra twenty minutes to go to a store that treats me with respect and will take time to show me any and every gun that I wish to see. Please take this yelp as a warning and do not go to this store!

Yelp
I ordered a handgun online from their website and picked it up in the store. Trouble free transaction, no extra fees, good price. Looks like a good local store with knowledgable staff.

Yelp
Ok, so here's the deal. If you are hoping the salesman is going to ask you how your day is going and what your favorite ice cream is, it isn't going to happen, probably because they don't care. If you have questions, are looking to buy something, or want to talk to someone who really knows their stuff and can handle straightforward answers, this is a great place. I enjoy coming here whenever I get the chance- I have had Xfers done, purchased muzzleloading supplies, random holsters, etc. They are a by the book, no bull, good little gun shop, and I look forward to visiting them again.
google avatar

Eric A.

Yelp
The main guy behind the counter IS quite opinionated and pretty much a jerk. I did find a good deal there and made a purchase....had to just hold my breath...and deal with it. Not a pleasant shopping experience, but I think they have some good prices on items and have a few things other stores don't. But as others have said...beware!! Jerk Alert!!!!!

Yelp
i have been buying guns and picking up ffl transfer guns from young guns since 2006. I got to know randy and johnny very well. they are good people and it's a good shop. i have recently visited gander mountain and bass proshop. if you are buying a pistol or rifle make sure you don't have anything else going because they WILL make you waste your time by filling out forms after forms, signature after signature, and waiting for someone else to double check those paperwork. i rather go somewhere they respect my time. they have a good price on the item on stock and they will find you gun you want if they don't have it on stock. i highly recommend young guns for your next pistol/rifle purchase.

Yelp
I had a great experience at Young guns. I am a female first time buyer and I have ran into other stores who chuckle at my questions and have not been much help. I have been ignored as well. The staff immediately asked how they could help me and spent over 30 mins answering all of my questions. There was no pressure to buy and they helped me in every way they could. They also have the best prices around. I have been shopping for a shot gun for awhile now and have finally decided to choose Young Guns for my first purchase!

Yelp
I went there on a friend's recommendation. Randy was really helpful despite having three other customers. He only had one Pearce magazine extension I wanted but said he would order me another one. Two days later he called me to say he got the extension in. Don't know about the other reviews but I had a really good experience with this store and they had a good selection of items at reasonable prices. I'm going back.

Yelp
I have done business with them since moving to the Triangle in '99. I've done transfers, ordered online and done in-store purchases. The staff is always professional and knowledgable. As others have noted, if you want a warm cookie and a glass of milk, go elsewhere. If you want a local and professional shop to work with you; these are the guys.

M G.

Yelp
Small selection of firearms. Prices are cheaper at Fuquay Gun and Gold. Example: Hornady Critical Defense .380 at this place is $25.99 a box and at Fuquay Gun and Gold it is $18.99. See attached photo.

Dean B.

Yelp
It's a fun little store. It's packed pretty tight not just with guns, but a lot of accessories and some fun things like knives and tactical supplies that a lot of gun stores don't carry. Randy the owner has always been great to me. I needed a shotgun turkey choke a while back, and I didn't know anything about it. Randy took a lot of time explaining it to me. He didn't make me feel awkward, or think it was his job to show me how much he knew. It was the day before the season opened and he was the only guy in town that had one. John (the bald one) has good days and bad days. Some days he's helpful, some days he's just rough. I guess I would be careful sending a friend who knew nothing about guns into the store, but when I need something this is a pretty good place to get it.

Eric F.

Yelp
I went there to see what they were about. Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews first. My mistake. I looked at things for a bit before I wanted to ask any questions. When I decided to finally ask some, I was brushed off by the sales person. Only "mmhmm" and "yeah". I will never enter that store again. I only interacted with one man as the two others were busy. I hope they're betrer sales people, because I will never go to this man for anything again.

Caroline M.

Yelp
wow! Is all I can say~ Horrible horrible and horrible. My father in law- Seattle police officer puchased my husband a gift certificate for his birthday at this place and also bought another gun for him later on for over 250.00. When he looked at his birthday certificate not only did it have the wrong name on it (how professional) it had already expired. After my father in law spent tons of money in this place, they would not honor the gift certificate. What a horrible thing to do. Never ever buy anything here. The great thing is, my husbands employer ( law enforcement related) is in the know too.) Good luck, but my suggestion would be run the other way!

Scratch C.

Yelp
If you want a slick gun salesman that will sugar coat you into buying something you don't need or want, then this isn't your place. But if you want knowledge, experience and great deals then this is a good place to be. They'll never steer you in the wrong direction. I've purchased two firearms from there and have had a good experience each time. I'm about to go back for a third.

William S.

Yelp
Purchases a gun from this guy once an will never shop there again. The bald guy acted like he was doing me a favor by selling me a gun. Very rude and unwilling to share information. Very dirty store, I think he cleaned the windows 10 years ago

Ed J.

Yelp
Over priced, sales person behind counter acts like your bothering him if you ask a question, I will not be back!! I'll go to Bass Pro shop or Gander mountain for the real deals! Poor service

Noah W.

Yelp
Check out their website online - they have access to the national dealers firearm network, which is one of the largest inventories (if not the largest) that can be accessed online. Not only do they have access, but their prices are significantly lower than other dealers in the area who have access to this network. Additionally, they are the cheapest on Davidson's gallery of guns. They get top marks from me for being the cheapest in town when it comes to this large inventory. Check the prices against the bigger brick and mortar shops and you'll understand. Workers are knowledgeable and eager to help and answer questions. One of the few places left in town where workers have personalities and character. My favorite small biz in the triangle!

Todd C.

Yelp
Take your business elsewhere! I paid this gun shop to do an FFL transfer for a rifle I purchased out of state. They will not answer the phone when you call and they don't return messages you leave on their answering machine. When I gave up on getting a call back, I drove over to the store and the counter clerk, John, says to me, "If you want to wait around for about 4 hours while we go through all the boxes that arrived today, you're welcome to do so." It's a small shop with no customers in the store and they couldn't walk in the back and look for a rifle-shaped box? Very poor customer service.

Dick S.

Yelp
One of the rudest and curt group of people in a store I've ever met. Not only were they difficult, but they did not have good inventory and the 1 service they did on my gun was poor and overpriced. Do not go there ever
