"There is a comfortable and contemporary feel to this restaurant in the neighbourhood of Töölö. The cooking is inspired by the seasons and the well-constructed dishes deliver layers of intense flavours, with texture and acidity also playing a key role. There is generosity in the tasting menu offer, including some servings split across multiple complementary dishes – as with scallop presented both raw and as a dried powder to add flavour to a cabbage salad. Wine pairings are available to enhance the experience." - Michelin Inspector

Slightly below expectations given the Michelin status however, an overall positive experience with nicely crafted dishes and carefully selected wines in a cosy smart casual atmosphere. Friendly service. Recommended.

After eating here it might be difficult to understand how this restaurant has ended up in the Michelin Guide in the first place. To wrap your head around it you need to know that the Young Hearts restaurant used to be in a different location and under different management. Apparently the Michelin Guide is yet to realize this. The current iteration of the Young Hearts is not an innovative fine dining it leads you to believe. Rather it’s a mediocre attempt by an old Mamma Rosa restaurant next doors (where this restaurant’s kitchen is most likely located as well) to pump more money from unsuspecting clients under a more trendy name. About the food. What would have been a passable dish serving of scallops is ruined by throwing a few overpowering sisho leaves and a few halves of raw unripe cherry tomatos on top of them. This apparently is supposed to make it ”fine dining”. The cod was fine, although with completely redundant beluga lentils mixed in. The dessert tasted mostly like yoghurt with matcha powder thrown in because the branding required some Asian ingredient. The venue used to be part of Tokyo 55 sushi restaurant (still operating upstairs) which explains the Asian style decor and the failed attempt at Japanese fusion food. The service was friendly enough, but amateurish.

Had a great visit to Young Hearts: - Each dish was extremely tasty, balanced and full of interesting flavors. - The progression from one dish to the next was also very well thought out. - Service was knowledgeable, but also friendly and unpretentious. - The waiters had excellent wine recommendations when we ordered by the glass instead of taking the wine package, and even provided a few alternatives based on what we told them about our preferences.

Excellent fine dining. The starter (artichoke soup with miso) was to die for, as well as the trout. Really enjoyed the wine pairings as well. The Japanese apricot wine at the end was awesome! Service was fast for such a large group.

The food was great from the beginning to the end. Great combination of cuisines and ingredients throughout. Possibly even better than some michelin starred restaurants I have had in the past. Service was exceptional, the waiter was really nice. Overall, a perfect place for a cozy/laid back dinner.

My dining experience at the restaurant was truly exceptional. I opted for the 7-course tasting menu, complemented by two delectable desserts. Each dish presented an amalgamation of exquisite flavors, immaculate plating, and a culinary finesse that left an indelible impression. The service staff exhibited an exemplary level of courtesy, taking the time to elucidate the intricacies of each dish, elevating the meal to an intellectual and sensory delight. The piece de resistance was undeniably the fish, cooked to perfection, achieving an ideal balance of tenderness and flavor, rendering it a pinnacle of gastronomic excellence.

Google Maps is starting to be frustrating. It does not accept positive reviews, probably, as it is not telling the actual reason. Would "5-star experience" be an acceptable review? "Excellent experience. A rare thing nowadays to be so positively surprised. Innovative food and still the each course is in harmony with each other. Service is friendly and knowledgable - all questions answered. Reading the menu requires translation. Each line is not always a dish, not a 9-course dinner. And wines also really good, even without ordering the wine package."
