Hyesung Noodle House Review - Koreatown - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Unlike trying to navigate the labyrinthian architectural abomination that is the Downtown Target parking structure, ordering at Hyesung Noodle House is quite simple. Just get the kalguksu. Also known as knife-cut noodle soup, this traditional Korean dish makes up more than half of Hyesung’s compact menu, along with bossam (boiled pork belly) and a greens-heavy buchimgae, or vegetable pancake. The first U.S. outpost of Seoul’s oldest noodle shop, this Ktown restaurant is located in a bare-bones space that’s almost as sparse as their menu, with plain white walls and one lonely TV playing the nightly news. Not that anyone is watching it - no offense to Lester Holt - because it’s clear that everyone is only here to down bowl after bowl of that kalguksu. There are two versions of the soup, an “original” that comes in an anchovy broth, as well as one served with shredded pieces of chicken, a.k.a. the perfect complement to Hyesung’s dense, chewy, noodles. Is it basically an elevated version of chicken noodle soup? Totally. But is it delicious and will we be coming here the next time it rains or we get dumped by a person we didn’t even technically date? Absolutely." - Kat Hong

Cold noodle was chewy in a good way. Refreshing on a hot day. Took 20 min for the chili version but worth the wait. Think it’s a better deal to get the set with meat and a soup if you don’t want noodles though. It’s a lot of food so better for sharing.

One of the better places for their kimchi. Fresh, good amount of chili paste, and just felt perfect. Tried the seafood soup which was pretty good but used frozen seafood which was expected. The noodles were cooked well, could be a bit more chewy. Will likely pick another noodle dish next time Service was kind. The atmosphere had a fun food court vibe

I went there while I was on vacation in Koreatown. I originally ordered the spicy ramen with rice cakes. Someone had went up and took my order so the lady running the store apologized and gave me something different. Honestly I was a bit upset but took it any way. It was SOOOO good. The sides they give as well were very tasty. We ended up going again later in our trip so I could get what I had originally order. That was amazing as well. In the span of a week being in Koreatown we ate there 4 times. There are plenty of ramen and noodle places there but this one is the absolute best. The service is amazing and the workers are so nice! I honestly think about visiting again too just eat there. It was that good!

Most vegetable and meatless menu items can be made vegan. Ordered the spicy cold noodle. Very flavorful and refreshing.

First time trying the clam noodle soup. The broth was perfect, not too salty nor sweet. I was thinking about going to an actual restaurant, then saw this on Yelp and decided to try it here instead since I'd been eyeing Nicole's Coffee next door for some time. A good alternative to the ramen and pho. It's located in the food court, so you always have a place to sit and eat. I would come back!

We loved this place because the Spicy White Noodle and the Chicken Sujebi looked amazing. We finished it and felt satisfied 😋

I keep hearing great things about this place from my friends and colleague's who live is LA. All i have to say is that this place is worth 5 hour trip from Vegas! You cannot compare the taste of their naemgmyon or ddukgalbi with anyone else. The naengmyon paired with their secret mustard sauce is perfect for the humid/hot weather. If you are in the mood for some hot korean food, the mandu soup and ddukgalbi would be the one I recommend. One of the most unique food items i saw were the egg rolled kimbap. The kimbap filling is filled with fresh vegetables and meat. With the egg coating the whole roll feels complete! 😋

Good soup I ordered the chicken noodle soup to go. Noodles had a good texture, broth was very rich, and they give good portions with two banchan (non spicy and regular kimchi).
