I used to work in Makati, specifically in Legaspi Village. When work gets stressful, I take short walks in the blocks surrounding the office to relax, and sometimes I look for new restaurants or cafes to try.
I noticed an increasing number of people hanging around the usually quiet Esteban St. during dead hours of the work day. I started to get curious, and I wanted in on what felt almost like a secret I wanted to uncover.
A few days after, I decided to step in and it was a decision I was glad I made! Without even taking a look at their menu just yet, I could already feel sort of a New York vibe. It was packed, and I was advised by one of the servers that although the place was pretty new, I should go early to be able to get a seat right away.
The place was so new that I hadn't heard anyone really talking about the place just yet but when I finally laid eyes on the menu, being a Salmon lover, I had to order the Torched Salmon Donburi. That dish probably tops all the other cooked salmon dishes I have EVER had in my ENTIRE life! Nothing can compare! (I promise) I also had myself a side of the Parmesan Fries with Chorizo Ketchup, and the Chili Crab buns. The Chili Crab buns included cucumber spears, leeks, cilantro in fried mantou. Those Buns were nothing short of amazing.
To top off my meal in Your Local, I had myself their dessert dish called Chocolate Earl Grey Pudding and Lime Mousse. It was something delightfully new for my taste buds with the black sesame paste and milk crumbs included in dessert dish. I truly enjoyed how different it was from the usual desserts, especially partnered with a delicious cup of coffee (which you can order inside Your Local from the next door coffee specialty cafe called Yardstick. All you have to do is tell the server, and they will attend to your request. They have amazing coffee there.)
This is always a place I would recommend to everyone both residing in Metro Manila and outside the country.
