This place was SO good!!!! Chicken was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Naturally gluten free, chicken and fry flavors were rubs instead of sauces (which I personally prefer). Outdoor seating with tables and benches near other food truck options. Options to dine “in” or have it made to go.

Flavorful, tender chicken with plenty of flavor options, but a bit pricey. I got the 3 piece meal basket and loved the flavor with unique sauces offered. Fries were decent, but small portioned and nothing spectacular; however, it is hard to outshine the amazing chicken. That said, $14.99 for the 3 piece combo, + ordering at the kiosk fee (.50) + service charge of $3.50 (~25%?) brought the total up to $19 total. I hope the entire service charge goes to the cook, but an automatic 25% is pretty steep, and I was a little surprised by the somewhat hidden fee. Overall, the chicken was GREAT, just be aware of the incoming service charge and kiosk fee.

If you’re looking for a small bite, Your Side Chicks is your go to at La Carreta. The nuggets were flavorful but something was missing. I still recommend trying! I definitely will be back.

We love your side chicks. Best place to get gluten free chicken in the country! The owner is extremely hospitable and makes delicious food. Each sauce, side, and main are all well thought out and packed with flavor. I recommend this place to all of my friends.

The only fried chicken I get anymore is when it’s home-made, so this was a nice surprise. The chicken is fresh and juicy! Very clean for a food truck. Website says it’s their third year in a row with 100% on their health inspection. The gentleman with the dreads offered great service. The only thing I didn’t like was that they only take cards, but there is no option for including a tip. And he didn’t have a tip jar either like the other food trucks out there. It’s too dang hot outside to be working an hourly wage with no tips!!! I will definitely be back next time I’m in Portland.

Absolutely phenomenal food and service 🥰 I HIGHLY recommend the fried pickles! (Also leave the staff a sweet note on the note spot on your order form... that's what it's for!!)

This place is legit. Just found out about them and tried it out. Huge chicken strips that are breaded to perfection. I had the OG strips, I look forward to trying out the other flavors. The seasoning on the fries was really good. I got their secret sauce and the black truffle ranch. The secret sauce was amazing. The ranch was good as well but definitely prefer the secret sauce. Kaleslaw was surprisingly decent, nothing really special but not bad. As someone with celiac I really appreciate that it's 100% dedicated gluten free, don't really come across many chicken joints that are. Customer service was excellent. Definitely going to be one of my go to places.

Amazing gluten free chicken and fries! It had a thinner coating which I actually really liked because it felt less heavy compared to thick breaded chicken. The seasoning was excellent, and service was nice.

Tried this place a few weeks ago after hanging out with friends and family. We ate here while some others grabbed food from other carts and ended up being jealous. We actually made the drive back to Hawthorne just to get chicken for the Super Bowl. I got there early but Daniel already had the order stand set up and was there to chat moments later. No other fried chicken travels this well AND I totally forgot it's gluten free! Honestly can't wait to try more spices/spreads and Daniel is there to answer your flavor inquiries.

Yelpers, ya'll are SLEEPING on this amazing dedicated gluten free food truck! I'm so happy this place exists! I've been gluten free for over a decade now, and let's face it... it's usually just easier to eat foods that are naturally gluten free, than to try and find a gf substitute. I've been craving fried chicken fierce, and chef Daniel did not disappoint! Holy hell, the chicken tenders were so flavorful and juicy! No dry chicken here, peeps! (Pun was not intended, but now I'm for sure leaving it ) My husband said this was some of the best fried chicken he has ever had... and he's not gf! Perfectly seasoned, crispy, crinkle fries with a side of tasty coleslaw rounded out our lunch. We split a 5-pc meal, and I have leftovers for dinner - score! I'm not sure what is in the secret sauce, but holy crap, that 'ish is amazing too! We also tried one of the hot sauces plus a black garlic ranch. Both were equally tasty, and I can't wait to try all the different sauces. Whether or not you are gluten free, Your Side Chicks is a MUST stop whenever you're in the area! Thank you chef Daniel! Yummmmm! We visited a few weeks ago and the food was absolutely amazing! I was able to meet the owner and he was very kind. He spent the time asking me about my day and was very genuine. Right away, you can tell that he is very passionate about his restaurant and what he serves. The chicken was perfectly cooked and so tender! The sauces were very tasty and fun. I will be going back very soon!

I was looking forward to trying your food, unfortunately the individual working closed at 1pm on mother's day. it was sunny and beautiful with tons of customers. Also no contact info on your website. And the employee left the premises.

Amazing food here, especially if you follow a gluten free diet. There was a mixup with my order and I ended up receiving the wrong item, the owner promptly responded to this and was very helpful and kind. Def check it out!

Daniel is a rude, incompetent, human being! I left a negative review of his business when my brother-in-law was dying 1400 miles away (in Portland) & I got hung up on twice trying to order a dying man a piece of chicken! Daniel called my home, called me by name, and proceeded to call me the B WORD and told me to F OFF. Nice friendly business person there!! HE CANNOT TAKE CRITICISM!

Absolutely killer fried chicken. From someone with family in the fried chicken biz, I can tell you this is some of the best I've ever had. Congrats chef.

We seen other people with it looked amazing till we got ours and it had tons of seasoning on it so it was super super salty, so stay with the original and maybe get a seasoning on the side. Chicken was good but as I said it was over the top too much seasoning and I am all about seasoning. I so should had gotten a pic so you could see it sorry

My dudes... this fried chicken is so on point. Cannot recommend it highly enough. It's perfect. Owner is super cool and super accommodating, and the place really has the vibe nailed down too. Don't sleep on this fried chicken!

My first time and my last time ordering this. I'm sorry y'all, but I just tried to eat my order that was delivered, and both the chicken and the fries were extraordinarily salty. Like, I had to rub as much of the breading off the chicken tenders just to eat some of it, which still was mostly inedible that I had to toss it out. I've been hearing from family members about how amazing their food is, but I had over $75 of an order delivered, and we looked at each other, amazed that this is what others say is good?? NOPE. Coming from a gluten free household, I'm really sad to eliminate one of the few options for eating out.

I love this place. I'm OBSESSED. The chicken is so good. BUT please, for the love of god, give a bigger portion of fries. The sides of crinkle cut fries are $6 and I swear to god they give you maybe 12 of them. We bought a large size, knowing this, for $10 and it was the tiniest box ever with about 20 fries. Insane. To make things worse, they're really good lol so I want more. Just please, stop charging 50 cents a fry.

Ate here for the first time yesterday with my husband after hearing great reviews for months. I'm not someone that writes reviews ever but this place is legit and the owner was super cool. I know good gluten free food is hard to find and this was worth. Every. Penny. Made my little celiac heart happy, thank you! We will be back

We tried it for the first time today and it's DELICIOUS! Super big and juicy chicken tenders, well seasoned fries, and a great secret sauce. Dedicated gluten free but you wouldn't even know it.

If this review was based on the food alone would probably rate it overall at a 3. Reason behind the one star is for the owner himself. He posted a review on his Instagram calling out a customer for leaving him a bad review making odd comments about how he didn't tip etc. The time I visited the food was decent but pricing is definitely high and they charge you a service fee and a to go fee on top of everything else including charging an additional $2 for any extra seasoning you want on your chicken / fries. Wasn't going to even leave this place a review due to me not wanting to leave a poor opinion on the pricing. Messaged him today about how posting about a clients poor review isn't a good look and it obviously triggered the man. Guy can't take feedback well obviously. There are plenty of options to get tenders in the city. If you want similar quality and don't want to be served by an asshole owner just head over to the Rambler. Plenty of other options within Hawthorne Asylum to enjoy.

Delicious GLUTEN FREE fried chicken and mushrooms! it's a one man show in a food truck so sometimes it's closed. It just makes it better when you score some of this celiac safe goodness.

Fantastic fried chicken. Great crunch, cooked perfectly, gluten and dairy free? Yes! All that and more. Super thankful to have this cart as an option! Can't wait to go back to try more spices and sauces.

Delicious seasoned fried chicken and fries in a dedicated gluten free kitchen! Amazing for celiac and gave a taste to my husband, who never would've known it was gluten free breading!
