Really great take on an Italian! Super fresh, not over dressed and dripping, awesome flavors. And a nice little kick! The bread was flavorful and super moist. Beware if the Eagles are playing, they sell out fast. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great sandwich! Will be back for their great service.

Not what we expected. I think some of the good reviews here are from his friends. Those cheesesteak are nothing close to what you get from Philly. Did not see onions or peppers and it was overdone with spices and salt. Overpriced for what you get. There are two tables with four chairs outside. There is a dirty sofa inside that is so dirty that you need to wash your cloth when you get home if you sit on it. Definitely won't be back.

Phenomenal sandwiches here. The main man Philly is a character! He makes his own bread and pickles. Best pickles I ever had. Best veggie sandwich I've ever had. I think they're more known for their meats but he was willing to make a veggie sandwich and even changed his gloves for me. Really nice guy! Really great sandwiches! I didn’t know it was possible to FALL IN LOVE with a sandwich… until today. This was an 11/10, life-changing kind of sandwich. Every bite was perfection — perfectly dressed, insanely fresh produce, a little kick of heat that took it to the next level. I meant for it to be a light lunch… but I literally couldn’t put it down — ended up devouring the whole thing. No regrets. And the guy who made it? Total legend. You could feel how much he loves what he does — this wasn’t just lunch, it was an experience. When he handed me my sandwich, he smiled and said, “You’ll be back.” Boy, was he right.

Love this place! I stopped in to grab dinner on my way home from work and finally decided to try it instead of my occasional Chick-fil-A, which I joked about with the owner. I’m so glad I did because the food was fantastic. If you’re from up north, you’ll feel right at home here. I’ve lived in Charleston for 15 years and haven’t found a place quite like this until now. I told Don to pick three of the most popular subs; he picked two, I picked one, and every single one was amazing. I even grabbed some PA chips and sodas for a little taste of home. Don’s got that true Philly personality, direct, funny, and full of pride in what he serves. Some people might mistake that for rudeness, but that’s just the endearing northern way. I would’ve paid the same price at Chick-fil-A and instead got some truly authentic, made-with-love food. Whether you’re from up north or born and raised in the South, if you appreciate real flavor, you’ll love this place. I’ll definitely be back!

If you get it, you get it. If you don’t just go somewhere else because this is absolutely delectable. I’ve read some other reviews about the owner being rude or whatever but I had a great experience and let me know if you find another Italian sandwich shop owner from Philly that isn’t a bit coarse. I got the Italian and I licked the packaging after. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. 10/10 new fav spot

If you’re from Massachusetts Connecticut New York Pennsylvania this place is a must. The service and the ambience alone will make you feel like home. And the sandwhich is by far the best I’ve had since I’ve been down here. Wish I could them 10 stars

Must stop, stop driving by and grab a sandwich here! "No corners cut", legit and I mean legit everything. That Italian was so fresh, amazing bread, toppings and amazing hot peppers even the greens were on point! My wife's Chef Salad was also tasty. Did not have the cheesesteaks but dang they looked so good and the sliced beef in the case was really fresh! Hats off to this local spot and owner, hope to keep coming back for years.

I stopped by You Guys for lunch today and was immediately greeted by Frank, a Philly native who is master of all things, "sandwich" related. I told him that I was from Pittsburgh and we talked about how great the hoagies are from Pennsylvania. I ordered the Italian Hoagie. All I can say is Wow! This is hands down the very best hoagie I have ever eaten and I am now spoiled for all other hoagies. The bun was a poppy seed bun, very fresh. And the meets and cheese were high quality and extremely flavorful. They were freshly cut. The lettuce was at the bottom so when you bit into the hoagie all the toppings didn't fall off. The onions were shaved nice and thin and the seasoning were perfection. This sandwich was BIG and loaded with meats, cheese and toppings. It was a little hard for me to find this place, but don't give up. It is totally worth it. Parking is limited. There is one table inside and two tables outside for dining. This is mostly a take out place. The menu has all kinds of hoagies sure to meet anyone's taste. They also have chips and drinks available. The hoagie was a but pricey, but for the high quality it was worth it. I will definitely be back for more. I highly recommend.

Stopped by for lunch on a Friday afternoon and the sandwiches did not disappoint. We ordered the classics cheesesteak and Italian roast pork sandwiches. The cheesesteak is the best cheesesteak you'll get in Charleston and I was more impressed with the Italian roast pork. The bread is fresh and both sandwiches were served warm! This place is mainly a to-go restaurant with only limited seating outside. One note, the owner suggests (very enthusiast about it) that you should call and order before showing up at the restaurant.

If you're looking for authentic Philly Cheesesteaks and Hoagies you must give "Yous Guys" a try. Went there for the first time and had their Italian Hoagie. I would say that it was one of the best hoagies that I have ever had. They make their sandwiches with high quality ingredients. Their breads, meats and cheeses are all fresh and flavorful. Portions are ample and packed full of goodness. The owner, Frank, provided fast friendly service with that "Philly Attitude." He also has passion for his business and customer interaction. This is a worthwhile destination for a quick bite to eat. The only two points of concern that I had was the limited seating making it primarily a takeout sandwich shop and the prices were a little on the high side for a hoagie. Overall, I would recommend Yous Guys Sandwich Shop.

Tried this for the first time since I've noticed the sign many times while driving on James Island. It's a small little sandwich shop the type that you'd find up in the Northeast, which is pretty awesome since we don't have a whole lot of them around here. From the accents behind the counter, I could really tell this was going to be an authentic experience - worth it alone to go check it out. What I liked: They have well over 2 dozen sandwiches to choose from, both cold and hot alike. Classics like Italian, Roast Beef, Chicken Parm to name a few along with some more regional and local specialties. I went with the Meatball grinder on this visit, which was served hot on a subway styled long thin roll. It was delicious and would absolutely recommend (I was told they actually make their own meatballs which is the key to this sandwich!) You could taste the garlic and the tomato sauce profile was on point! On the flip side: Seating is somewhat limited if you are going with a larger group and it will run you about twenty dollars for a footlong, which IMHO, is a little bit steep, especially if you are feeding more than one person. Guten Appetit!

Best hoagie place around. I usually float between the sausage Parmesan, Italian, or the Philly. Can't go wrong with any of them. You's guys is slinging out fresh cuts of meats & cheeses while delivering an authentic Philly experience right off Folly road. The food is made fresh to order, fast service, and the ambience is superb.

Wow! I just called to place and order for pickup, and his first asshole repose was umm yeah that's all we do so you don't need to ask. Cool, let that go cause I've heard in the past from others and also read other reviews that "these guys" can be straight up douche bags, but I loved the food my husband picked up last time and we were going to help our northern friends build a shed and thought we'd be nice and pickup lunch for them on way there. Then I ordered my order and then theirs was almost the same (cheesesteak and Italian) and I say almost because my friend asked if there was any other types of cheese she could get on hers and his quick shitty response was "honey this is a Philly shop you aren't gonna get any other types this is how we make it and this is what you get! And as I was starting to say that's fine... and he rudely cut me off, by saying "so you wanted two cheesesteaks and two Italians, great so you could've just saved us both two minutes and said two cheese steaks and two Italians, so next time you call you need to just call and order two cheesesteaks and Italians. I'm pretty sure he just wasted both our times because I told him he could now cancel the order and he was a rude asshole and I was all set with him and his sandwiches. Bye Felicia! You lost biz from us and all our friends for good. Even after I hung up the phone I loudly said WOW what a d!ck! I can't believe he just talked to me like that. SMH!!

Lost gym I was looking to treat myself to a little lunch on James Island. Wanted to try something new. Came here around 12:30. Place looked empty but had a lit OPEN sign. TV was blasting a diabetes medication commercial which was rather off putting but the manager (I guess?) apologized because the Phillies were playing. If you look around the place it is clearly a Philly spot. I appreciated good fandom- still annoyed me and I'm a Mets fan so hope they win lol! Just get a speaker for behind the counter so it doesn't have to come all the way from the TV right on top of the customer line! Menu had hoagies and Philly cheesesteaks. The Italian was $20 but it may well have been the best Italian I've ever had. They also had Zapps Voodoo chips as an option which is always a plus. Will definitely come back to try a Philly. Great sandwich stop!

The outside appearance says... should I go in there? And if I do, should I eat food from this establishment? I courageously moved past my biases and am glad to report it was a very good decision. Tuna sub was suggested and did not disappoint. Fresh and homemade pickles lined the sub and are honorably mentioned as winners! The semolina sesame topped sub roll was fresh and well... just...perfect! Go ahead... walk inside and don't let the "no's" of the proprietor turn you away. The man knows what he's doing!

Looking for an authentic Italian sub? I found it. Yous guys is delicious. A hole in the wall joint with a die hard eagles fan making some great subs. Don't piss off Don, he doesn't have time for it. Everything is fresh! When the bread is done you're out of luck. Can't wait to go back for a steak sandwich or Italian pork sandwich. So good!

What I got: Italian Hoagie Thoughts: Felt pressured into getting the Italian, despite expressing interest in perusing the menu a bit longer as there were a variety of interesting options. The sandwich was definitely great in the end and the ingredients were all top notch, but I definitely want to see what else they do well in future visits.

A little bit (a lot) of Philly tude. Called to ask if he had inside seating and he said : I have one seat and you MF's can sit on each other's lap. Now whadauwant MF. Overcharged $5 for my gross soggy $20 sandwich. Was told I'd be charged $20 even. Gave the clerk my credit card, he charged me, gave me back my card, and walked away without giving me my receipt. I had no option or intention to leave a tip. I checked my credit card statement later, and saw I was charged $25. I called the restaurant, and the clerk was very confrontational and angry at me for calling him out. He must have left himself a tip and not told me. Very dishonest establishment with gross food. Very sloppy, soggy sandwich with gross, bland taste. Publix has much better sandwiches.

If you want to take a trip to Philly but stay in the Charleston area this is the place to go. 100% would go back, great sub and experience.

Such a great deli/sandwich shop I feel it brings NYC to James Island. I had his Italian Hoagy. Authentic and just perfect as it was made. I wouldn't change a thing! I love this sandwich shop.

Accidentally found this place but it turned out to be the best Italian sandwich I have ever had. It was expensive but I will 1000% be back. The owner was very nice as well, seemed to know his regulars but also welcoming to first timers. Hole in the wall restaurant and the perfect place for a sandwich to eat on the beach.

Overall an underwhelming experience to say the least. Subs are small and lack flavor. Grossly overpriced. ($40 for two small subs) Also, the guy taking orders and making sandwich's is a dense prick. Avoid this place.

Food and service. Had a little trouble finding the nook they were tucked into, but I found it. I had ordered take out from home. Sandwiches were warm and ready when I arrived.

So I don't come here a lot but when I do I always get a Little Stranger it's my favorite sandwich hands down! But today I tried out the chicken marsala and I now have another favorite sandwich! It's so good along with there pasta salad!

Was looking for a real Italian sub. Got an excellent sandwich- quality meats and bread make a difference!

Bought a place in Charleston a few years ago and have been on somewhat of a Quixotic mission to find something that resembles n authentic Italian sub. If you live here, you know that's mission impossible. Well....I found it with Yous Guys. It's tucked away in a tiny little shop on Folly Road, and if you blink you'll miss it. The owner (Don) is a rue Northeasterner from Philly and he treats the Italian sub with the authenticity amd respect it deserves. If you've had enough of the chain made fugazys, this is the place for you. Haven't yet tried the meatballs or eggplant parm or roasted pork yet, but Don makes literally everything to order. No fryolators, no frozen stuff. When I was there this morning, there were meatballs cooking away in the stove. Great guy, great place. Toss the Jersey Mikes amd Subway into the trash can amd head to Yous Guys. Well worth the fedfort.

Tried for the first time. Having been born and raised in PA, this is absolutely the honest to God Philly Cheesesteak I grew up with!!! I couldn't eat the whole thing. A bit of a hole in the wall, and they usually have the best food! Loved the owner, he was so great to this woman from "Pennsyl-tucky"...lol All "Yous Guys" from "up north"...this is the place to go.

Don't judge a book by its cover... this place has the best Italian hoagie on the island and I'd argue in all of Charleston. Bit on the expensive side but worth it when you're craving a phenomenal sandwich!

Finally had the opportunity to sample YOUS GUYS! As a lover of many things "Philly", this joint definitely hit the spot. Come for some authentic Philly talk, Philly hoagies, sandwiches and cheesesteaks, and come hungry because they're massive! The ingredients are top notch, freshness is the #1 secret and there are plenty of menu options for everyone! Don was welcoming with superb customer service, I will definitely be back to try more items from their menu.

All this sandwich needed to do was be as delicious as it looked in other Yelp pictures, but it went well beyond that. The flavors of the meats mingle so well with the nuttiness of the provolone, which both are complimented amazingly by the robust flavor of arugula, pickled peppers, and marinated red onion. Put all of that onto a house made hoagie roll with perfect balance of crunch, soft inners, and lightly toasted sesame seeds, and the experience is borderline divine. Thanks for a new go-to when we visit Charleston!

4 but close to a 5. We recently heard about this place and had to try it. We ordered before we got there which I had heard is important. We got the Roast Beef sandwich. I was confused and we got it cold. Online I thought it was hot with Au jus but I guess you can get it cold or hot. Next time we will order better and maybe move this rating to 5 star. This place seems like the real deal. Looking forward to my next visit.

Service was great and they have a fantastic menu. Cheese steak was delish. Next time I will ask for mine without the hot pepper sauce/relish.

I don't get to this side of town often so when I ended up heading home around lunch time, I knew I had to pick up hoagies. I always hear about the cheesesteak so that was my intention but when I arrived I met Don and he had other plans for me. He admitted while the cheesesteak is good, their pièce de résistance is the Italian hoagie. I decided to get both. I was chatting with Don as he made the sandwiches and he put together a rollup of meats and cheeses from the Italian to show me the quality of products he's using so I had a snack while I waited. He's not lying and that's why the prices are on the higher side for a sandwich. The provolone was excellent and the meats were all top notch as well. I personally don't love a bunch of veggies on my sandwich and the Italian was loaded. I still enjoyed it but that little rollup he gave me would honestly be my prefered way to eat it... soo good. Start selling those! Both hoagies were great. I prefer non-seeded bread but the bread was excellent so I can't complain. They do things different so don't expect your typical cheesesteak or Italian. I also had some pasta salad and would definitely recommend. Check these guys out and yous guys won't be dissapointed.

We came for the Italian because we heard it was money. I was marginally annoyed when my husband had the audacity to suggest one of us get the Italian and the other get the classic Philly and we split each (gasp). But boy was I glad he did. They were both stupid delicious. We liked them equally so you honestly can't go wrong either way.

Can't go wrong with anything that you order. Homemade bread, great experience. Best Hoagie on the east coast.

Been anxious to try the sandwiches here and made the trip today but was really disappointed. The Italian looks great in all of these pics but you can't taste the meats through all the bread and arugula. The sandwich alone was $20 BUCKS! I don't see myself returning.

I have been dying to check this place out for sometime now. Happened to be in the area today and I am not disappointed the Italian sub great peppers with tomatoes, lettuce cheese, and a lot of meat lol! I recommend trying to Italian sub. Everything in the menu looks great.

Well, let me start by saying I should have stuck with my last opinion, but didn't. I tried their Philly cheesesteak about 2 years ago and wasn't impressed. It was ok but nothing great as so many proclaimed. Today I decided to pick up their meatball sandwich for my daughter and try the Italian subs that some have talked about. WELL, BIG mistake. I'll start with the good, the meat. The meat was tasty and good, hence the 3 stars. The onions and tomatoes were good as well. Now for the not so good. I asked if anything was spicy on the sandwich and they said, yes, the cappicola. I asked that it not be added, which they seem to begrudgingly remove (sensed a little resistance/disdain). I had a conversation with them about wanting mayo and was told emphatically, NO. They went on to explain how superb their ingredients are, which I wasn't challenging at all. I get it, BUT I also get that I like my COLD sandwiches with some MAYO!! No problem, I'll try the "Best Italian" (what they told me while there) your way, minus the Cappicola (because no matter how I try I cannot palate spicy, not even hot sauce). I asked do you cut it in half and they both said yes! Well I get to my daughter's to give her the Meatball sandwich and to give half of the Italian to them as well to discover it WAS NOT cut in half. The "pickled" peppers were also extremely spicy, which was disappointing after telling them I couldn't palate spicy and they took the cappicola off. The bread was not to my liking, as the seeds were distracting (stuck in teeth) and a little too hard for my liking. I like a softer bread for my hoagies and/or subs. I get that it's their shop and they make the rules, but when a customer wants to patronize you and it's as simple as adding mayonnaise to a dry sandwich, which you admitted you have but just won't do, I recommend defaulting back to that old rule "give the customer what they are PAYING for". I tried it without the mayonnaise, and I'm sorry but it's too dry without it, so I added my own DUKE'S. Listening is essential, thank goodness it wasn't a food allergy issue and just a situation of not being able to handle spicy food. I won't be back and consider the $15 cost a donation, as it was not worth $15. My daughter did say the meatball sandwich was good but we both agree we miss the days of Norms Pizza and Sandwich shop in downtown Charleston. Sonny's Sub Station will always be the best Italians I've had in Charleston (long gone sadly). I do miss the days of Sonny's, Sharky's and Norm's! They all had GREAT sandwiches, Pizza and service!! They also didn't consider it criminal for a customer to choose what they wanted on their sandwich!!

One of the things I miss most when I'm traveling for work away from home is the hoagies and cheesesteaks. There are tons of imposter restaurants putting peppers and onions on "Philly Cheesesteaks." However, Yous Guys holds up to the passion and authenticity of a really Philadelphia sandwich shop. Walking into the shop, I was immediately taken back home. Philadelphia sports memorabilia covered the walls. Wawa logos were spotted. Behind the counter, Dom works his butt off to make the best hoagies and steaks one can find in the south. Gritty as the mascot himself, you can tell how passionate he is about his food. I got an Italian hoagie. Packed full of meats and sharp provolone (I didn't think they even knee what sharp provolone was down here), every bite was full of flavor. The cherry peppers made it the complete package. The best part? The roll. Fresh baked and sesame seeded, the owner said it's his own recipe. Take it from a Philly native, this is where you should be getting your hoagies and steaks from at this point forward.

Wait time for the sandwich was quick and easy I had the Italian and the Philly. Both had the perfect amount of spice to it. The Philly had a true Philadelphia taste to it. Super soft bread is always a plus Definitely will be back to try other sandwiches!

Banging breakfast cheesesteak. Service was great if you don't mind a Philly asshat. Ambiance has got that old Italian deli feel. They should have 94 WIP on the radio but food was amazing.

Service was great! The owner was very honest and helpful in helping me decide what I wanted. I appreciated his interest in conversation and me as a customer more than just my payment. This place is a little hidden, there is free parking, but not a ton of seating inside. I say it's more of a grab and go place or go on your own during a break or on your way to places. I got the cheesesteak and pasta salad which were both soooo good and filling. Definitely going back to try another!!

This guy is the real deal ! He is passionate about his craft, quit whining about not having your butt kissed when you come in...it's just the Philly way. Pick a sandwich and let Don do his thing. Is it the greatest hoagie ever...probably not, but it's the best one around here. The roast pork is the best I have ever had, sorry DeNics...meatball parm was damn good too.

Oh my goodness the sandwiches are ginormous. One sandwich is two meals for me. Tangy veggies, salty meat, and tasty (and won't cut the roof of your mouth) bread. Recommended!

I don't know how I haven't reviewed this place!!! They have fantastic sandwiches made with nothing but the freshest ingredients. The cheesesteak is definitely a fan favorite made with fresh shaved ribeye, not that frozen steak product. The owner Don is probably the best part of Yous Guys. He is authentic as they get hailing, from Philly. He really puts his heart into everything he makes. If yous haven't made it in yet, do not cheat yourself any longer. Get to Yous Guys!!!!
