"Known by Hialeah locals as the go-to breakfast spot offering generous meal portions for a very affordable price. Yoyito’s is a favorite amongst locals, particularly those who grew up grabbing a quick café con leche before heading to the first period math class." - Eater Staff

Google
I know this is not a Five Star place but I love this place so much I have to give it to them. It is just good Cuban food and very reasonable prices. Best hole on the wall restaurant in the area.

Idael Perez

Google
Yoyito Cafe is not even close to what it was 5 or 10 years ago. Smiles on the staff have faded away and a sense of concern and superiority is very visible. BREAKFAST SUNDAY: Basic breakfast (Two eggs, ham/sausage/bacon/chorizo, tostada, fries, café con leche) could not be prepared as per my request since they did not have bacon. On the other hand, the food was well prepared. Ambience was nice, Christian/Gospel music was on the speakers. Lights were dimmed which made is nice. I still will have to come back for lunch or dinner and will update the review.

Google
This use to be a great place. But it gone down, svce sucks, food is not great, & god forgive if you change your mind about anything. $90 later only buying pastelitos & cafe had to deal with nasty additude & if your Spanish is not good they treat you like crap, I seen it myself. I speak Spanish so I was good .. not worth they hype!!

Andrea Almeida

Google
The best arroz con pollo! My 82 year old mother makes me come here on Sundays although I live far just so she could have it!

Pedro Paez

Google
Quick lunch here? You got it. Do not expect a fancy meal. Quality is not there. Service balances it out but, honestly the whole point of eating out is to have a good experience when comes to flavor and you kind of expect that from a Latin cuisine. We hope they improve and let us know so we can come again.

alina paez

Google
I have to be fair with this restaurant. The food tasted pretty much like nothing. Chicken steak that is... But the service was very friendly and helpful... Prices are somewhat high...

Aime Rojas

Google
This place is asking for people's driver's licenses and it's not when you're ordering alcohol, it's when you walk into the restaurant. A bunch of ignorant people working there! Needless to say, our party of 6, just walked out and went to a real restaurant.

Mickey Itchon

Google
Food was inexpensive and there was a lot of local color for a Cuban restaurant. The customer service was not..., The food presentation was cafeteria style...we were going to Vicky's bakery next door but decided to try this out.

Yelp
El Yoyito has amazing food, but the workers are rude and unprofessional. I ordered sandwiches (ham, egg, and cheese), however, I arrived home to discover no egg on one sandwich. I called to see if I could possibly return to receive the right order and was told, "You won't be able to fix the problem," with a very aggressive tone. I wish the service was as excellent as the food, but unfortunately, that wasn't my experience. After eating their food for years, I am bit disappointed.

Raquel P.

Yelp
We go to Hialeah when we want to eat great tasajo (without the onions and peppers) and their boniato is always on point ! My only complaint is that their chicken is always only the legs and the fried chicken needs some mojo !!

Jude F.

Yelp
Tostones are hard as a rock, some are cold and some are super hard . It's shameful they are selling this to the public. I paid 16 bucks. Don't waste your money. And customer service is horrible super rude.

Charlie F.

Yelp
Great meals. Just like my grandma's house. Tasajo, rabo, arroz imperial, and the arroz con pollo all authentic Cuban. The buñelos also take me back to childhood cuban Christmas delights. The price has gone up through the years but where hasn't the price gone up?

Maria C.

Yelp
This is a cafeteria style restaurant. Nothing big or fancy, but super delicious Cuban food. Like my mother use to make. Sundays they have the Arroz con Pollo (chicken with rice) special for like $10.99. Three people can easily eat from it. They also have a fried flounder that is amazing. Will definitely recommend it.

Laura B.

Yelp
Me encanta el arroz a la chorrera de este lugar, es solo los domingos pero vale la pena ir

Shawn M.

Yelp
My girl was sick and asked for some chicken soup so I figured I'd swing by this place since it was so close. I asked for one large chicken soup it came out to about 7.75 with tax included. I left the nice lady a $10 told her the change was hers. I get home and serve the large soup in a bowl to my sick girlfriend. When I tell you there was maybe one ounce of chicken literally one ounce maybe three fourths of one ounce. Almost no vegetables at all either. It was all broth I called them a few times but got no answer. I wasn't gonna go back and form escandalo for 8 dollars so I took it as lesson to just never go back there and to warn people who read yelp reviews before going somewhere. Congrats Yoyito. You took my 8 bucks but you won't get another dime from me. Punks.

Jose Alexander C.

Yelp
Best cuban place. Best Arroz Con Pollo A La Chorrera. Eating rico since October 1 2001. Best owner named Eduardo Rodriguez. The best in Hialeah!!!!!

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Ate the pan con bistec here for a quick lunch super good if u want it done the real Cuban way they have funny signs in the restaurant that'll keep u laughing as u wait

Carlos V.

Yelp

Yelp
Really cool little Cuban place in Hialeah. This is as Hialeah Cuban as you're gonna get. I came here on Sunday to get the special arroz con pollo a la chorrera --- wet style chicken and rice, big bowl served with roasted red peppers and peas, and I got some fried plantains on the side. I also got a fresh Guarapo or sugar cane juice. They have a breakfast menu, sandwich menu and also a daily list of specials - typical Cuban dishes along with some there are less common such as bacalao (salt cod) in sauce, Italian style liver, cream of malanga soup, Cuban style Ajiaco soup, arroz imperial (a rice casserole with cheese and other things), Cuban style fried rice, and many more things. The arroz con pollo is very good, the chicken is on the bone I'm sure there's some MSG-containing Goya Sazon or something but that's to be expected, the side of fried sweet plantains are good, it comes with free Cuban bread with garlic and butter (probably margarine to be honest) which ends up making it taste like an Italian garlic bread, the guarapo was nice not too sweet and I could feel the vitamins and minerals from the sugarcane, it was made fresh in front of me, if you want a real taste of Cuban 305 come here and not Versailles, and don't try speaking English! Also best cafecito you're gonna get anywhere

Jackie D.

Yelp
Good Cuban cafe. Been going for years and have always liked the food. The menu has enough things to choose from.

Richard H.

Yelp
I was craving Arroz con Pollo. I was so underwhelmed. There was no seasoning just simply no flavor. So dissatisfying. Service was okay considering how empty the place was.

Alex B.

Yelp
Just for the record, its my opinion that none of these little roadside stops can get 5 stars. With that being understood, I've been to Yoyito's both here in Hialeah and the one on 8th street numerous times. The Cuban coffee is good except make sure to tell the servers in Hialeah to watch the sugar. They have a tendency to put a lot of sugar in any coffee item purchased. The croquetas are average. The pan con tortilla (egg sandwich) which is what I usually get is pretty good. I like mine with ham, onions and cheese on it. They usually put a nice amount of ham. The only negative that I've noticed about Yoyito's specifically the Hialeah location is despite calling in your order 20-30minutes before I arrive I still have to wait once I arrive. That's happen a few times.

Lissete D.

Yelp
Good, cheap Cuban food. What's not to like? This was my first time at Yoyito's. I hate the term "hole in the wall", but that is exactly what it is. We went on a Sunday for their famous Arroz con Pollo. It was good, just not ah-mazing. It was served piping hot, the portion I've was good, enough chicken but not as flavorful as I expected. My husband went with a basic breaded steak. It was very good and I really liked the breading. Their flan is creamy and tasty. Just not as delicious as the one that I make ;) Our server was nice and attentive for the most part. I hear that service can be hit or miss, so I guess we lucked out. It is slow however. It can take a while to even have your order taken. The wait can be long. There is no wait list. You wait in line. Packed like sardines. My claustrophobic self waited outside while my husband stood in line. Wait time was about 1/2 hour. Not too bad. BTW, as you eat you will be stared at by those in line. Very disconcerting. You can pratically feel eyes burning into you. Willing you to hurry the heck up. All in all, we had a nice meal. Nothing special, but tasty & filling.

Melissa C.

Yelp
Not the greatest service in the world. They close at 10pm and I got there at 9:30pm. I didn't order anything out of this world and it was to go but they totally made it known that they were annoyed by my presence there because they wanted to close early. So sorry that I'm hungry and that your sign says 10pm -.- The food itself was good. The congri was not the best, but will do if you're hungry. The maduros were undercooked. I had breaded chicken and even though the chicken was a little flavorless, the breading totally made up for it. I thought the price was a tad much when I saw the small container, but when I opened it they had stuffed a huge ass piece of chicken and lots of rice in there, so its totally worth it because of the quantity. Overall I think it's a good place to hit up as a last resort but apparently not at last minute lol

Crystal H.

Yelp
This has to be the saddest croquta preparada I've ever had. It came with 3 croquetas, it was all bread. You're better off just going to Vicky bakery a couple doors down and making your own. The bacon looked like it was recooked. It's overrated, go to Morro Castle!

Janet V.

Yelp
I'm Cuban and I have to say this one of my favorite Cuban restaurants in Miami the food is delicious and staff makes me feel like I'm at my moms place. Arroz con pollo sooo good and the palomia con arroz y frijoles y tostones so good definitely, totally recommend this place I moved recently so now I'm closer to their second business but I'm sure I will have no problem! Oh I forgot prices are super reasonable you walk out feeling super full happy belly and not broke .

Jordan N.

Yelp
The breakfast here was nondescript. There's actually only two things to order for breakfast - the standard Cuban breakfast (french fries, sausages, eggs, tostada, and Cuban coffee) for $3.50 and mangu con salami y queso (a Cuban take on fufu/monfongo (mashed plantains) drizzled with some oil(?) and onions, with a good thick slice of pan-fried salami and pan-fried queso blanco. I must admit that I liked the salami and the queso blanco. The mangu could use a bit more seasoning or flavor to counteract with the pretty plain taste of mashed plantains. But of the two, I must say the mangu made the breakfast more "unique" as I haven't seen something like this in many Cuban cafeterias around Miami. But overall, I would recommend people to come here for lunch or dinner as the breakfast didn't really knock me out of my chair. Not even a nudge. I'm saying to revisit because I saw a seemingly good Herald review on this establishment for its lunch/dinner entrees.

Martha L.

Yelp
Worst service ever ! When we first walked in server was not happy there was a line to be seated. There was 8 servers..... but commented she had to leave at 2pm... ordered churrasco Served nothing close to it..... when ready to go we had 3 servers all of a sudden .....

Melissa Montes B.

Yelp
Hidden gem in Hialeah! I've only been twice, both on Sundays, with my grandfather - because he wanted the Arroz con Pollo, which is the special on Sundays. Their servings are generous, and the prices are great. The Arroz con Pollo is under $9 (maybe even $7.75), and there's at least two servings. It's "a la chorrera" style, which means the rice is more wet (like a risotto) as opposed to the other version, which is dryer. Last time I went, I had the Pollo a la Plancha with maduros and congri. The chicken and rice was delicious, the maduros weren't as good as the first time I went. The service was also great. Our waitress was very attentive. Overall, I'd recommend this place if you're in the area or if you're searching for a good cheap Arroz con Pollo on Sundays.

Ana S.

Yelp
Horrible service , very slow and waitress was rude. Couldn't even ask her a question without her giving attitude.

K J.

Yelp
I dunno who told them they had the best arroz con pollo a la chorrera but they lied. It was edible but not worth buying again. Staff also had a staring problem.

Melli B.

Yelp
A coworker recommended this place to me so I gave it a shot. I can't complain. I ordered sautéed vegetables and plantains. I was starving and I would have paid the extra to have this as a meal sized portion but It was served to me as if they had scooped out two sides to accompany an entree. I didn't know how to explain to the young woman that I wanted this as my meal because of the language barrier. I was STARVING and the vegetables were actually pretty fresh and tasty. I devoured what little food I had and was still quite hungry afterwards. When I went back again, I ordered them in larger portions and this time, they gave me more than enough. The food was fresh and as tasty as it could be for what it was. Service was quick and even with the language barrier, I still felt welcomed. This may be a lunch spot for me because my options in the area are all so unhealthy. At least I can get fresh veggies here.

G C.

Yelp
I love their bread with steak and all their food and the service, but there is something that is happening us twice, I don't recommend to pay with your credit card, or if you do it check your statement during the whole month, because first happen with my daughter, and this month happen to my husband, the credit card is used after we paid at Yoyitos in different places, that we had to call the credit card c reported those transactions that we didn't do it, and cancel and replace the card. the first time I called Yoyitos and told them what it happen, I was ignored and this time we even bother to let them know. and it is curious because we only use the card at Yoyitos nowhere else.

Valentin E.

Yelp
Good food order by phone and pick up at the window will fast service Will definitely order again

Veronica C.

Yelp
For 330pm on a weekday I was surprised when we arrived that it was full. I decided to wait about 10 minutes until a table became empty. Once they cleaned off a table the bargirls told me to have a seat but underneath on the floor was food that needed to be cleaned up. So much for cleanliness before seating ourselves. Right there you lost a star. That wasn't the first it lost. I used to come here a lot to be honest and all the other times I didn't have the problem of lack of service. We ordered empanadas de guava and queso. Came out nice and hot. Delicious when you took a bite right in. The mix of guava and queso is to die for. I ordered masas de puerco Frita with arroz con guizo de Mais - that was a special of the day along with sweet plantains that came with the plate. They lost an additional two stars with me with serving my food but without silverware nor napkins. Common sense? How am I going to eat? My hands? Also no refill on my water.. I feel that it was just too out of control for the server to keep up I had two servers and didn't know who to really tip. I didn't want to tip to be honest because I swear the service and cleanliness lacked BIG TIME. I gave two stars cause ONLY the food was worth it. Maybe I'll have better luck next time when I dine in but perhaps next time I'll just order to take out. Until next time Yoyito's. You should train your waitresses a little more. P.s cortadito was mmmmmm so good!

Andy B.

Yelp
This is a small hole in the wall Cuban restaurant in East Hialeah. They have some decent daily specials. My favorite is on Thursday's, when they serve what I consider the best Bacalao (Cod in Creole sauce) in town. Food is fairly greasy, and the service is kind of aloof, but for a quick bite at a typical Cuban joint in Hialeah, this is a place to go.

Joshua M.

Yelp
You can't be a Miami Resident without doing Cuban food .. and if you are doing Cuban food why not go where it is best ... Yoyito I love the Aroz con pollo special on sunday that can come with the best tostones in town .. It is one of those hole in the wall restaurants that is always packed, comes complete with a family owned feel and good attentive service you can hardly ever find in the high end joints in this town so when thinking of Cuban food in Miami don't think twice run to Yoyito

Erudito C.

Yelp
A hole in 49st hialeah but the BEST! arroz con pollo ,call ahead ,fast , nice people, family oriented and moderate prices . If you look at the pictures on the wall every important person in Miami has been here for lunch and dinner .Highly recommend this little place .Yoyito is also a very nice person.

Jaime L.

Yelp
Excellent. Inexpensive Cuban classics at very affordable prices. The dining room is decorated with pictures of visiting celebrities, Cuban vistas and assorted chachkies. Correct service in convenient location, you can have a hair cut and a psychic read after eating pan con lechon and flan.

Isaac N.

Yelp
Just as expected!!! Classic cuban! Stopped for breakfast, place is pleasant and service was great. Got scrambled eggs with vegi , tostada and coffee, paid $4.65. Very happy. It's simple working class restaurant and it was perfect.

Albee A.

Yelp
4.00$ breakfast you would think it will be tasteless or cheap quality. None of the above, everything from the serving portion to the taste are on point. I love their bacon, non greasy and extra crispy. For 4 bucks you get scrambled eggs, side of choice, French fries, tostadas and cafe con leche. My go to place every weekend for breakfast. Fuego!

Vanessa B.

Yelp
I'm sorry Yoyito's ... I know I said you're my favorite but I think you might be tied with Versalles....You still rock my socks off though and I'll never cheat on your Arroz on Pollo!

Rose Marie N.

Yelp
We weren't planning on eating here. It is a little hole in the wall place to eat in a strip shopping center. Food was decent.

Rachel G.

Yelp
Love breakfast here! They are normally pretty quick but my recent visit they were serving those who came after my boyfriend and I before us.

Miguel R.

Yelp
Great Cuban food especially the tasajo. I drive almost an hour to come here. Frituras de malanga are also really good. Buñuelos for desert are also very good.

Christina S.

Yelp
Not a fan of this place. Ordered their famous arroz con pollo this past Sunday and was disappointed. The maduros/plantains were horrible and not fresh, hard as a rock. The chicken - or lack of chicken - was not good. I also ordered the sopa de pollo (chicken soup) and it did not taste good. It also did not taste fresh. Was hoping for better especially since it's close by and I'm always hearing about their famous arroz con pollo on Sunday. Maybe it was an off day but I don't think I'll be giving it another chance.

Henry H.

Yelp
Ive been to this place several times. My in-laws live down the road from it so once in a blue when we come to visit we will pick up some cuban sanwiches and fries. Its ok. Look, its Hialeah. There is no variety here what so ever. Its all beans, rice and cuban sandwiches every where you go. Seriously, im in no way exaggerating. This is all you get here. You just have to find the place that does your pallett right. I like this place for the quick cuban sandwich but id rather go to La Careta because they have bigger cuban sandwiches for about the same price.

Joe P.

Yelp
I found this place by accident; and I thank my lucky stars! They have the best hardcore Cuban food on planet earth. Tourist please do not visit, I want the prices to stay right where they are. Order a bottle of wine, and go into shock over the low price. Just go and see!!

Claudette C.

Yelp
Another typical Cuban food joint, this place is a super small but the food is good!

Manny P.

Yelp
Really, Really bad. Took a friend there today and I was embarrassed. The service, wait a minute what service, was pathetic. All those women piled up by the kitchen talking while the patrons were in need of service. Our food was served in parts bcse the waitress kept forgetting dishes. The breaded palomilla steak was like a shoe sole, hard and dry. The breaded fish was horrible, the breaded part was like a carcass, and the beans were canned beans, which sarcastically was the better dish. Was not even busy, only three tables including ours. NEVER AGAIN!!! Manny P.

David B.

Yelp
Awsome food service was good , I had the tasajo and it was authentic, the congri was ok, the sweet potatoes were delicious, it was very busy so the wait for the food was slightly long but worth the wait, the price was reasonable, the service wasnt bad, and the place seems clean!!

Gricel C.

Yelp
Yoyito's service before was great and the food was amazing, but lately for the last few visits the service and food is terrible the sugar jar, salt and pepper shakers are kedged up can't be used.. I don't know who's the cook.. But they are not getting it right. I hope the owner does something about it

Tomas M.

Yelp
Great service great quality Cuban food, the service team is exceptional, always careful that you have a pleasant experience and great value for great food, you feel like you are in a Cuban place, the decor, ambience and music it's very traditional.

Brittany W.

Yelp
absolutely amazing. quality food at a quality price! there's nothing better. highly recommend pan con bistec and the croquetas de jamon!

Erika A.

Yelp
Good prices for the quality and portions. I love when I walk in and they greet me by my name, but it is a typical Cuban place so expect a loud environment. Also, they get pretty busy on a regular basis with their cantina orders and the parking situation can get annoying so be weary of that.

Cris M.

Yelp
Man, i LOVE cuban food but Yoyito on 49 ST is so crowded you cant taste your food! Its not expensive, its food is OK, nicely served but its nothing out of this world. Although the Arroz con pollo is off the chain. The only thing that i really hate is how SLOW service is. I waited 40 minutes for my order to be taken. I go now every once in a blue moon. Staff can be a little more friendly (A Tip).

jilly b.

Yelp
ok, people might not agree with me with the one star, but let me tell you my experience. I was STARVING and everyone and their mom talked about this place knowing...Let me emphasize this again KNOWING, that i dont eat any type of animal, but they talked about the black beans and soups, on and on how i have to try this place. Did i say i was hungry?so we go, pictures of celebs all over the place, i think ok, this feels interesting, but i have an open heart and with no judgement i ordered the only thing in the menue for me, beans and rice and oh yes, the famous i dont know what kind of root soup that was. I honestly wanted to cry when I tasted the soup (it felt like blended slimy potatoes), the beans and rice where not good. glad peeps like the arroz con pollo, but for a veggie, vegan, raw food individual, this is not the place. i beg you, please dont take us there.

Saly Ale O.

Yelp
Our scrambled eggs and french fries came 25 minutes later than our milk and toast, on top of that the waitress was rude, unfriendly and 4 people were served before us, is sadly because this place is an Icon in this city for Cuban Food, not at all recommended.
