Yu Bo, One of the Most Celebrated Chefs in China, Wants to Open LA Restaurant | Eater LA

"Operating originally out of his home in Chengdu, Yu’s Family Kitchen showcased Yu Bo’s modernist, avant-garde techniques applied to elevated Sichuan flavors and dishes, building a legend for preparing an entire fine-dining meal at home. He has been heralded as the 'Ferran Adria' of China, and luminaries such as Sichuan food writer Fuchsia Dunlop and chef Danny Bowien have spoken highly of his cooking. Bo has since relocated to Los Angeles—citing more reasonable real estate and the freedom from a Michelin guide—as he researches dishes at home for food cognoscenti and fellow chefs and plans to open an upscale, exclusive fine-dining restaurant in the next year." - Matthew Kang

The portions are massive — the picture I added is actually after we’d already been eating out of it for a while. We ordered the chow mein, curry, and orange chicken and just shared everything between us. What really stood out (besides how good the food was) was how patient and personal the staff were. We were back-and-forth forever trying to decide what to get, and they never once acted annoyed or rushed us. They checked on us a few times, made sure we were happy with what we picked, and they were smiling every single time they came over. It definitely feels like a true family-owned place — everyone was respectful, kind, and just very genuine. The food was delicious, the customer service was amazing, and the value for the portion sizes is huge! Highly recommend this little spot in Santaquin. We’ll definitely be back! 💛🍜🥡

This was my first time eating at Yu Kitchen. So happy I found this place! I ordered the lunch special and got Kung Pao Tofu and it was delicious! Great price and great portion size 👌 The service was incredible! I wish I got the lady's name who took my order. She was such a kind and helpful person! She made this experience so great and I will definitely be back because of her!😄

First off The cashier Lexus is amazing!! She was so helpful and gave great recommendations. The general Tso’s chicken is amazing and isn’t very spicy even though we love spice but would definitely get it again along with the vegetable lo mein noodles!!! The orange chicken had great crisp and crunch but very soft on the inside! The king lap chicken has way too many vegetables compared to the amount of chicken… way too much celery. Wont get that again along with the sweet n sour soup. I’ve had better but would try the egg drop soup next time. Make sure to get some pork dumplings though because they were great with the sauce!

We are driving through Santaquin and decided to stop for lunch. After driving through the town, we decided on Yu Kitchen. We are so happy we chose this. Everything was wonderful!. Their lunch specials are only $10.25. Food is made once it's ordered, so our food is hot and fresh! Thank you for a great lunch!

My mom introduced me to this place and it is phenomenal! After our favorite Chinese place closed during COVID, we didn't think we would ever find any place as good. This place exceeded all expectations. Food is made fresh when you get there, and is perfect crispy and delicious. We got the orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken, both I would highly recommend. The lunch specials also come with a big helping of rice, and egg roll, and a cream cheese won ton. Staff was so kind and friendly and a very clean interior. Go support this amazing restaurant!

What a gem. We were headed to southern Utah and had a friends wedding to go to in Santaquin Utah. This place was sooo very good. Their breading on the chicken was not too thick so you got to eat and taste chicken. Not breading. We had general Tso’s chicken and orange chicken. Both the lunch special. It was great. You need to try their house made hot mustard. This a small place with 4 tables. But the locals know of this place because there was a steady and constant stream of take out orders. I really recommend that you make it a point to try Yu kitchen. Portions are more than fair. And you get the food in a nice take home container. Not a foam tray. Go get some soon.

This is a wonderful Asian restaurant with a variety of dishes to choose from. We ordered two ramens and a fried rice for the five of us. It was so very filling and a wonderful meal on a cool day. The house fried rice was a perfect mix of flavor and the meats were plentiful. Everything came out hot and ready to eat. I couldn't have hoped for more as it reminded me so much of my time in mainland China. The cream cheese wontons were also delicious - a fun dessert to end the evening alongside the fortune cookies.
