The food at Yu Seafood is absolutely first-class, with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. Although it can get busy on weekend lunches and may require waiting for a table, there are usually plenty of available seats during other times. The staff are particularly warm and attentive, proactively refilling tea and changing plates, making for a great dining experience. Highly recommended!

Recommended by a friend, and I can definitely see why—I love this place! The food is delicious, portions are generous, and the service is great. It can be a bit of a wait since it’s so popular, but it’s absolutely worth it. The prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommend!

We came here to celebrate Father’s Day and had a great experience overall. There was a small mix-up with our reservation—we had booked earlier that day by phone, but it turned out to be scheduled for the following day. Thankfully, the staff was accommodating and found us a table for our party of seven with just a 15–20 minute wait. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The Peking duck was flavorful, and the pork ribs, while rich and fatty, were enjoyable. The stir-fried vegetables were light and simple, complementing the heavier dishes. We were already quite full by the time the chow mein arrived, so we took it home to enjoy later. To end the meal, we were pleasantly surprised with biscuits, pudding, and red bean soup. The restaurant interior was bright, spacious, and welcoming. For those with mobility needs, there is a separate wheelchair-accessible entrance that leads directly into the dining room, along with an accessible restroom. Parking was also convenient, located just in front of the main entrance.

The food was delicious and well-prepared, definitely worth trying. However, the overall dim sum experience was affected by the atmosphere—two to three waitresses was speaking quite loudly, which made the environment feel noisy. A bit adjust the volume would really appreciated.

Went there on a weeknight with my husband and was seated right away. The quality of the food was good though the dungeness crab was sub par. There was too much curry and spice, you couldn't taste the crab at all. Other than that, service was great and atmosphere, nice. Will likely return.

Came here for a nice dinner. We got the Peking duck, king crab, and steamed fish. Everything was fresh and really well done. The duck was crispy, crab was super sweet, and the fish was cooked perfectly. Service was solid too. Bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Would definitely come back.

Google
The wait time was insane, so be prepared if you’re walking in without a reservation. That said, the prices were more reasonable compared to the Yorkdale location. Once we ordered, the food came out pretty quickly. It was just the two of us, so we ate fairly fast and didn’t stay too long. We’ve actually booked a room here for our upcoming wedding celebration with a group of friends—fingers crossed the quality holds up! Almost forgot to mention—the interior design was surprisingly nice, especially compared to other dim sum spots in the area. Definitely a plus.

Google
Absolutely great! We were lucky looking at other reviews, arrived on a weekday! There was only 4 or 5 others there, and we only had to wait about 6 minutes for our lobster to arrive (which tasted absolutely delicious) There was music playing in the background, and the staff were very knowledgeable on which parts of the lobster tasted best. In the end, we got some free dessert, and left with no complaints ❤️

Yelp
I dined at Yu Seafood for early dim sum on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 10 am. Yu Seafood was the last stop on my dim sum journey during my Toronto visit, and I thought it was a fairly decent. Upon entering, the lobby was empty and I thought it was strange that I still had to join the queue on the touchscreen for 2 people. After waiting for almost 10 minutes, the hostess led me to the table, which was passed the crowded main dining room and in one of the smaller rooms in the back that looked like it could be used for private events. Regardless, the room was much more quiet and preferable. From their vast menu, I only ordered a few staple dim sum plates for a light brunch. Of course, I had to get the shrimp dumpling har gow (漁膳房蝦餃皇), which is a must for any dim sum. The har gow was larger than what I'm accustomed to, but I ain't complaining about that. The dumpling was steamed to perfection, the wrapper was still intact when I picked it up with my chopsticks and the filling tasted full of shrimp. The shrimp rice roll (晶瑩蝦球腸), another staple, is a simple relative of the shrimp dumpling prepared in a different format and is traditionally served with a sweet soy sauce. And of course I was not surprised with how large the shrimp was inside! The pork siu mai (至尊黃袍燒賣皇) was pretty average that I thought could pass on next time since it didn't have any shrimp in the filling. The bean curd wrapped vegetables and mushroom roll (珍菌上素卷) was over-steamed and tasted soggy. The fried octopus tentacles (五味炸龍鬚) were crispy and served as a nice departure from the already steam-dominant orders. I noticed that the service was a little less "friendly" than what other diners might have received who were able to speak their native language, which was understandable. There might've been a language barrier, but the server didn't have to slam plates when clearing the table, which ruined the ambience. Overall, Yu Seafood has some of the most delicious and well presented dim sum plates I have ever eaten and I think would be an excellent option for a large group.

Yelp
Been here a couple of times over the year. Had their dim sum and dinner service. Most recently we went for their dim sum. We arrived on a cold winter day and there was a significant wait to just get a table. There was no way to call in advance to join the queue. The only way was to enter the info upon arrival. Tried a couple of dishes. The food was good overall. No complaints. Just wished the wait time for a table was more reasonable and the ability to book a table online would be nice. Their yorkdale location you are able to book a table but the food selection for dim sum is very different. Prepare to pay in cash or debit at the Richmond Hill location where as their Yorkdale location accepts all form of payment. They have also started selling their new year delicacies. Overall good experience.

Yelp
My family and I stopped by Yu Seafood for dim sum yesterday morning. We arrived at around 10:55 AM, and the waiting area was completely packed with eager customers. The waitlist system is divided into three categories: small (1-3), medium (4-6), large (7-10). Unfortunately, we waited for almost 2 hours before being seated, and by then, we were all pretty hangry. To make things worse, one of the hostesses was incredibly snooty and unfriendly, which made the already frustrating wait even worse. Once seated, we were given paper menus to mark down the quantities of the dishes we wanted. While the dim sum was fine, the dishes under the "Chef Special" section (items 49-71) really stood out as the highlights of the meal. If I had waited two hours just for dim sum, I would have been pretty disappointed. 52. 皇子菇芙蓉带子河 (STIR FRIED RICE NOODLES W/ SCALLOP & KING MUSHROOM) - 36 My mom did some peeking around, saw a nearby table ordering this dish and thought it looked delicious, so we decided to try it too. This one went hard. The first bite had most of us exclaiming "Oh!" in pleasant surprise. The noodles had the perfect chewy texture, soaking up the egg white-based sauce that was infused with the flavors of scallops. That first bite made me forget about the long 2 hour wait, and I could see why so many people were eager to eat here. The scallops were cooked perfectly and topped with roe, which was a nice touch. The king mushrooms had a meaty texture, and the yu choy was, well, just yu choy. Overall, it was a phenomenal dish that impressed all of us, and I couldn't help but take more than my fair share. 67. 鮮拆蟹肉扒豆苗 (BRAISED SNOW PEA LEAVES W/ FRESH CRAB MEAT) - 30 The snow pea leaves weren't very fresh, but they were stir-fried extremely well. Once again, they were cooked in an egg white-based sauce, topped with generous bits of crab meat. The crab meat didn't taste like fresh crab meat -- it had more of a dried crab meat texture and flavor. The dish had bold flavors overall, and the only improvement I can think of is to use fresher pea shoots to elevate it further. 54. 笼仔蒜香虾皇饭 (STEAMED GARLIC SEAFOOD W/ RICE) - 38 The rice here is first mixed with egg yolk, then topped with shrimp (or prawns) and, once again, the egg white-based sauce. Whatever rice they use here is definitely of high quality. Each grain was distinct and perfectly soaked up the fresh flavors of the shrimp and sauce. The sauce was phenomenal with a rich, garlicky depth. We thoroughly enjoyed this steamed seafood rice. The dishes mentioned above were the highlight of our meal, but I will mention which dim sum options we liked, as well as those we didn't enjoy as much. **FAVORITES** 1 上品金箔流沙包 (BAMBOO & CHARCOAL EGG YOLK BUN) 3PCS - 7.80 We waited too long to enjoy these, so the egg yolk was no longer "liquid" by the time we ate them. I loved the charcoal flavor of the bun and the egg yolk was tasty, too. 8 酱皇蒸风爪 (STEAMED CHICKEN FEET) - 6.99 Chicken feet is always good, and these were freshly steamed and marinaded with a delicious sauce. 18 藍鉆松子燕麥包 (STEAMED PANDAN OATMEAL BUN W/ PINE NUT & COCONUT) - 6.99 This was very unique! The oatmeal bun was perfectly steamed and a bit chewy. The pandan mixed with coconut and pine nut was the perfect, delicious filling I didn't know I had been missing out on. 24 黑芝麻流心煎堆 (GLUTINOUS RICE BLACK SESAME BALLS) 4PCS - 6.99 These were good and nicely baked. There was a lot of black sesame filling inside each one, and I enjoyed it. It is on the sweeter side, however. 45 即焗鲜奶挞 (BAKED EGG WHITE MILK TARTS) 3PCS - 7.99 I haven't had egg white egg tarts before, but I like that it's not too sweet. The puff pastry exterior was flaky and buttery, and we enjoyed it. **COULD SKIP** 4 漁膳房蝦餃皇 (STEAMED SHRIMP DUMPLINGS HAR GOW) 4PCS - 7.99 The skin of the har gao stuck to the bamboo basket and the shrimp wasn't flavored well. If there's one thing I don't like eating, it's poorly seasoned shrimp. 9 香芋蒸肉排 (STEAMED SPARE RIBS W/ TARO) - 6.99 These were pretty flavorful but the pieces I had was a bit fatty. My dad also noticed there was only one piece of taro in our order, though. 79 菊花鯪魚肉燒賣 (CHRYSANTHEMUM SIU MAI WITH DACE FISH PASTE) - 7.99 Where is the chrysanthemum? All I tasted was cilantro before I had the chance to bite into the siu mai. We did not like the fish based siu mai and would not recommend this dim sum. 82 蠔皇鲜竹卷 (BEAN CURD SHEET ROLL W/ OYSTER SAUCE) - 6.99 This was fine, but nothing special. It was also pretty oily. We were in and out within an hour. Food does come out really fast here. Note, they charge 2.75 per person for tea here. If you can overlook the rude hostess and focus solely on the food, it will be a delicious experience.

Yelp
We enjoyed dim sum here where the front and dining area was quite upscale compared to the average dim sum fare. The shu mai was juicy and large. The fried shrimp ball had large pieces of shrimp. My favorite was the egg yolk custard bun, the bite was a combination of salty and sweet. The staff seemed pretty attentive as my son dropped a few chopsticks and they came by regularly to replace utensils and to check if the table needed clearing. We also left a coloring book and they called to see if they should save it for us. The bill was probably higher for the Toronto area but compared to the US(Massachusetts) it was about the same price for 4 people yet was much fresher and fancier looking in presentation.

Yelp
A reservation was made a week prior for our large group for weekend dim sum, and we were seated in a smaller area in the restaurant. When we arrived, it was busy, and a screen showed the number of parties waiting ahead. There was also parking available in the plaza. There were various dim sum options, and service was speedy. The food was delicious and tasted very fresh. Our final price was reasonable per person. There is a wheelchair-accessible washroom on the main floor and individual restrooms upstairs. Overall, we are delighted with our dining experience at Yu!

Yelp
To call this dining experience an epiphany is perhaps grandiose; it is, all the same, revealing. We'd come early (before 1130) on a Saturday, just to get some dim sum; we were surprised to see a line out the door, literally. A little shaded area outside provides relief for what could be hot summers in Toronto, but better bring your own portable stool if you expect to be seated while waiting. I was wondering: how great is this place that there are such patient devotees? The draw, I soon found out, was a hefty crustacean. There advertised on a stanchion at the reception was a sign that's bigger than the lobster itself: a 4-pounder, any style, for a bargain basement price of $60 or about 45 USD. The price was so attractive that we, too, fell for it even if lobster wasn't on our mind when we set out for lunch. Soon it arrived, in all its 64-oz glory. We had it done "Haven" style, which is slightly spicy, with some extra small fries used to dress it up - one of those unique HKG style invented maybe 3 or 4 decades ago. All around us, EVERYONE had lobster on their table. We saw a table with only a handful for diners trying (not too hard) to consume that mountainous platter. And before you know it, pretty much everyone was packing lobster away in take-out boxes. My brother-in-law said that he's seen tables of only 2 people ordering that, only to pack the majority of it away. So what's so revelatory? I came to realize that my foodie compatriots do not really have the demanding palates that I thought we all had. Reheated - while it's still lobster - that dish just doesn't taste that wonderful - the next day, we all struggled to finish what we didn't the first day (5 adults and 3 kids)! If it had tasted so great, there would have been nothing left over to begin with! I also came to recognize that, from the way the lobster was prepared, to the quality of all the dim sum, Yu Seafood is your average of averages: well deserving of the 3 stars out of 5. Not by any means terrible, but really, nothing to write home or rave about. Which leaves only one explanation for its egregious popularity - good value, or to put it more crudely, mediocre food at a cheap price, was what diners cared about more than quality. Man, do we know a bargain when we see one, regardless of how good it actually tastes. So, at the risk of bruising our collective ego a bit, I'll state what is apparently true: our Chinese palates aren't so picky and discerning after all!

Yelp
Wanted to try Yu seafood after remodeling. Our party of 4 got there at 9:45am. There were about 10 people waiting so we went inside to find out how full the restaurant was. To our surprise, there were many empty tables of different sizes. So we asked receptionist why she won't release the smaller tables and the reply was they are for party of 10. When we pointed out there are multiple parties of 5 using same size tables, she quickly changed to they are for a minimum of 5. We have to draw a line somewhere, right? While the statement sounds reasonable, size of the table will change your view (see pic). I then confirmed that we are waiting for turnover of existing tables which will take a while since the restaurant opens at 9am. I requested to speak to management but none available until 10. I accept that it is the restaurant's freedom to do what they please. I don't know whether this is restaurant policy or receptionist decision. Either way, I think there are plenty of customer-friendly places to choose from and will not patron those which don't value my business.

Yelp
The food is delicious and ingredients are fresh. Do make reservations or you may not get seated. Service was so-so because we felt rushed to leave. The restaurant is nicely decorated so it does give a relaxed ambiance.

Yelp
Want to have a fancy place for dimsum, then this is for you, beautifully decorated, wall displays of Chinese vases and other arts. A far cry from those dimsum places where people are reading the Chinese newspapers with bare feet resting on their chairs, oh the horrors from my previous Hong Kong life. Special dimsum discounts before 1030, be prepared to wait for seating Service staff very efficient with the assistance of those cute robot dimsum servers All dimsum ordered, red scallop rice rolls, abalone congee. Fried almond encrusted shrimp balls, peanut scallion dumplings. truffle shrimp dumplings, Lotus wrapped rice, chicken feet, char siu baos were tasty and cooked perfectly. Alas no more rolling steam carts but dimsum straight from the kitchen. Pricier than other dimsum places but the morning discount alleviates some of the price pain. Well worth it for the food quality and elegant decor. Dimsum lovers amen

Yelp
After reading the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. We've been wanting to have dim sum in Canada but never got a chance. So, I made sure to plan some dim sum time while there. I saw on YouTube that this place serves dim sum in wooden boxes and I've never had that in the US, so this concept looked fun. When we got here, there was a slight wait. We had to put our name down and wait to be called. Wait was around 15-20 minutes. The restaurant is huge and separated into different dining rooms, which is what we were seated in. Our room was surrounded by "cubbies", which had cultural items sitting in them. Next to the door was a setup that had carafes, condiment squeeze bottles, and small bowls. This place has nice restrooms, also. Each bathroom has stalls that look like individual bathrooms. We ordered the following: #1- Bamboo Charcoal and Egg Yolk Bun (3 pcs) - this was pretty good. I was curious to see how this tasted and it wasn't bad. The egg yolk is a little sweet. #12- Steamed Mixed vegetable and mushroom wrapped in bean curd sheet- this was pretty good. We like this better than the ones served in the US. We've never had it wrapped with vegetables. Out in the US, it's always wrapped with beef and we don't like it. #13- Steamed sticky rice with chicken in lotus leaf (3 pcs)- Daughter liked it a lot. This item is her favorite and this didn't disappoint. #27- Deep fried pork puff (Ham Sui Gok) - 4 pcs- Hubs ordered this because it reminded him of his dad. It's pretty oily but it brought him pleasant memories. LOL. #32- Steamed Angus Beef Rice roll- we've never had Angus beef in rice rolls before , so this was different. Daughter liked it a lot. This wasn't bad. #33- Steamed rice roll with donut and bonito flake - This is red rice roll with a Chinese fried donut wrapped in there. We've had red rice rolls in NYC but it's nowhere as soft and delicious as this place! Daughter was a little bummed that she couldn't eat this because we were warned that there's cross contamination fears and they don't recommend it. #54- steamed garlic seafood with rice- we all loved this entree. It was very garlicky and they were generous with the shrimp. Place is awesome with peanut allergies. I got a little nervous about that but it was all for naught. Service was pretty quick and friendly. Will definitely return when in the area to try other items on the menu!

Yelp
Yu seafood is a good Chinese restaurant serving dim sum and Cantonese seafood. Came in weekday at noon got seated immediately. Service here is good, above average Chinese service standard. Decorating is modern with high ceilings, but it's as noisy as other dim sum place as well. Overall dim sum has good quality, except the steamed beef strips ,texture tasted like plastic, and it is hard to chew. All other dishes are good, especially pork ribs and deep fried sticky rice balls. Price is towards pricy end

Yelp
One of the go-to dim sum places in Markham and their quality is usually pretty good. However, on one occasion when my group of four dined in, we found a piece of bone in their charcoal lava yolk bun. It was definitely a one off situation as subsequent visits were fine. Service is stereotypical in most dim sum establishments where fast and efficiency are deemed the golden standard. We recently came with a baby in a stroller and the staff kept on delivering dishes right by the baby instead of another area of the table that was empty (table of 5 seated at a table that could fit 8-10). Overall the dim sum dishes themselves are decent. We really enjoyed the rice rolls. However the curry cuttlefish was really soft and squishy. Not a fan of that dish. The siu mai and har gow were flavoured well but the har gow at some other places were more bouncy and full of shrimp and less paste. Bathrooms are located up a flight of stairs and stalls are individual rooms. Many were lacking toilet paper and with the floor being quite wet. Not sure the frequency that they are cleaned and maintained.

Yelp
Great spot for Chinese food in richmond hill. Staff were friendly. It's always busy during lunch so I recommend making reservations ahead of time. I recommend the quail, lobster and dim sum.

Yelp
Came by for dinner the other night and it was a decent experience. Yu Seafood is an upscale Cantonese restaurant with parking available in the private strip mall. The main dining room was air conditioned while the upstairs was very humid with the lack of air conditioning... Some staff wore mask, gloves, and name tags. Started off with the peking duck which was a touch lean and bland. The hoisin sauce did help with the thin wrappers. The 2nd course of minced duck was served with lettuce cups which was good hot. The beef cubes with okra was well executed with tender and flavorful beef cubes with tasty okra that was nicely stir-fried. The "2 lb" steamed fish looked more like 1.5 pound. The fish was well executed and fresh. The garlic pea sprouts came out as a huge mega portion and was well executed. Ended off the meal with the complimentary taro sago which was on the sweeter side. There was also a mango and cookie post-dessert too. ~$75/head after tax and gratuity for dinner with plenty of leftovers.

Yelp
Yu Seafood is a more fancy dim sum place with a higher price tag than your average place in Markham/Richmond Hill area. The decor and ambiance reminds me of the high end dim sum places in Hong Kong. I generally enjoy all their dim sum items as I find there is an extra level of care. For example, over steaming dim sum happens a lot of other places making the dim sum item soaked with steam and wet. Some of my favourites include the lotus leaf with glutinous rice, their mustard green and clam congee, their black bean ribs, and the snow mountain char siu bao. The place is busy so it helps to make reservations a week in advance for a weekend date or prepare to wait using their ticketing system. Service is good and attentive as well and we've never had any issues when going. Price ranges from $5-$8 per dim sum. Our bill is usually around $150 with tea, tax and tip for 12-13 dishes.

Yelp
First, their phone reservation service is terrible. Apparently, once booked you are "not allowed to change time", like your need is not their concern at all. But the onsite service was pretty good, so kinda redeemed my negative experience earlier. The interior is an elegant Chinese style. Unlike many of the other dim sum places in town, it's bright, decent, and clean. The food was excellent. Take Shrimp Dumplings as an example, the shrimp inside are so big and fresh. The Bamboo Charcoal & Egg Yolk Buns: highly recommended too. NOTE, it's different from the egg custard buns which don't contain salted egg yolks inside. Steamed Silk Chicken and Steamed Chicken Feet: Both accentuated the chicken's original taste. Well cooked. Deep Fried Durian Puff Pastry: If you are a durian lover you can hardly miss it. Chinese Wampi Dongrong Pastry: Filled with lotus paste, perfect for tea pastry but pretty filling. Overall, it's a great place with plenty of options. Would have given it 5 starts if it were not for the terrible phone operator.

Yelp
They opened at 9am on Sunday and we walked in at 9:10am to a wait. Luckily, the place is big and can accommodate lots of people. We waited less than 15mins and got seated in one of the private rooms with less tables, so it wasn't loud. The decor and atmosphere is very clean and more high end compared to a lot of Chinese restaurants. They have very tasteful decor. The dim sum was mostly good. I particularly enjoyed their siu mai, liu sha bao, pork hock and egg braised in ginger & vinegar, and milk custard tarts. The fried squid tentacles were also good, not heavily battered. The bbq pork puff pastry was rather bland and didn't have enough filling. The XO red scallop steamed rice rolls were not that great for being a special dish. I love the convenience of their robots delivering the food to the room, so the servers don't have to go back and forth to and from the kitchen. The bathrooms are all located on the second floor and require you to hike up a flight of stairs but can be inconvenient for elderly and young kids, but there is a handicap bathroom on the first level.

Yelp
I might get slammed for this since this is quite popular with the aunties but I was very disappointed. To put it shortly, 名大於實. This means the name is grander than what it's worth. So much to rip on for food. SIU MAI: very fatty (literally globules of fat) and lots of tendons! SHRIMP DUMPLINGS: this had a weird veg taste that was not traditional. I'm sure some people on this big old earth might like it. The wrap was too thin and was broken when it was served to us. Not impressed. Shrimp taste was not very fresh either. SPARE RIBS: my mom has never seen worse ribs at a dimsum restaurant. The ribs were bad quality. They were fatty, lots of bones, lots of tendons, which resulted in very little actual meat. FRIED SHRIMP ROLL: it had chives?? Wtf. Also the taste was bland. I don't think they seasoned the shrimp before frying it. Curry chicken pie was packed away because we were full. At least the decor was nice. The washroom is upstairs and felt like I was entering a hotel. Very beautiful. It's clear that the owner invested a lot into the interior design. Perhaps invest some funds in a traditional dimsum chef? The dimsum felt like what a white person made... From memory. Thousand layer cake was stupendous. Great flavour of the winter melon and excellent consistency in the layers. The teacup was chipped lol. At this price. Maybe they're better at seafood dinners. Dimsum is not their strong point.

Yelp
Visited Toronto with fam and decided to get some dimsum. Food - most of the dimsum was good, not great. Presentation was simple and clean. Service - was spotty for my experience. The bus girls or porters were on par and quick to change out dishes but the waiter was hard to locate at times. Ambiance - big place, come early or you'll have to wait in line. Decor was modern and nice with some private room dining for larger groups. Overall, it was a good experience but I will try other places when in town again.

Yelp
This is a more upscale restaurant and is quite aesthetic. We came for dim sum on a Friday afternoon and got seated right away. Their dim sum menu has a good variety with your basics and some more unique, special items. Pretty solid overall. Will need to come back to try the dinner menu.

Yelp
Love the lobster mountain there! We had more than enough and my friend ate half of the fries not even able to finish it and had to take 4 extra boxes home! This mountain was for a table of 12! Which was more than enough. The pricing was reasonable considering the amount and quality of food we are getting. Well worth it. The ambiance was typical Chinese settings. If there were nicer and more authentic decos, it would definitely elevate the whole experience!

Yelp
Our first stop in Richmond Hill, Canada and we really want some delicious dim sum. My girlfriend recommended this place and if you come between 9am to 11am Monday thru Friday, their S M L dishes are all $5.28 Canadian dollars which is about $3.86 US. Pretty great price if you ask me!!! Food....was ok. We ordered 15 dishes at $5.28 and it's HUGE so you get big bang for your buck but man....service was not great. The front desk and the waitress was kinda rude. There are so many restaurants to try so this is a one time deal for me.

Yelp
Despite the name of this restaurant suggesting seafood, Yu's Seafood is famously known for their classic dim sum This spot not only serves the classics such as siumai and hargow , but unique dishes such as red rice roll with donut (you tiao) and bonito flakes. Namely, my favorite dish at this place is the Bamboo Charcoal and Egg Yolk Bun ; it is so fluffy and the salted egg yolk is the perfect filling with the seasoned bun. All in all, featured in this reel are: . Pan Fried Radish Cake Steamed Pork Dumpling Steamed Shrimp Dumpling Salted Pork Bone w/ Peanut and Dried Oyster Congee Bamboo Charcoal and Egg Yolk Bun Steamed Beef Tendon Baked Chicken Curry Pastry BBQ Pork Puff Pastry . Of course to top this all off, we had to get the pu'er tea as our choice of dim sum tea. Pu'er is superior and if you think otherwise, we may not be friends anymore

Yelp
Very good dimsum!! I would recommend getting the shumai, hargow, beef balls, and my favorite dish- vermicelli with pork belly in malaysian sauce! The staff were also very nice and helped us mix noodles that were difficult to mix together. The food also came out pretty quick and there are a lot of amazing items on the menu. Pretty sad that I'm not from Toronto, because I'd get this every week. If i ever come back, I'm definitely coming backing here!

Yelp
We came for dinner. We ordered a set for four adults, but we felt like the set was large enough for six adults. The set included steamed King Crab, whole steamed fish, shark fin with rice, shrimp, sashimi, and soup. It was incredibly filling and every ingredient was of such superior quality that we had to push ourselves to finish everything. Service is interesting because this restaurant utilizes a robot to get food around. I'm not sure how I feel about this - am I tipping the machine, too? Are the overlords coming? When will a machine replace the chef and all servers? Maybe the machines will begin farming us for their energy. I obviously read/watch too much science fiction. With great ingredients come high prices. Nothing here was cheap, but I felt like the price was pretty on par with what was served. Service was quite responsive. Note: debit cards and cash only; no credit cards!

Yelp
As of writing this review there are about another 331 reviews. I am not sure what else can be said about Yu Seafood that has not already been said before but I am going to try and maybe talk about some "off topic" items outside of the food for some light sarcastic humor. My other half and I arrived on a Thursday morning right around 9 AM and found there was no line up. We were shown our seats in quick order. Seating in the restaurant is comprised of either a booth or a stand alone table around a wall. The dim sum menu had a decent selection and also to note as some others have mentioned already that Yu Seafood is probably one of the very few (I count 2 total) dim sum restaurants in the Richmond Hill area that offer an early bird dim sum special. If you arrive before 11am and put in your order all dishes S-M-L are priced at $5 - Albeit this is NOT advertised ANYWHERE. So if you want to confirm make sure you ask the server before paying as I honestly have no idea when they started offering this and when or if it will end. The food arrived in quick order, well presented and tasted pretty decent. Now to be honest the area we were seated in I felt a bit claustrophobic mainly because there is NO windows with natural light anywhere?? After our meal I decided to check out the washrooms. There is one single handicap washroom located on the main floor. So if you are having dim sum with some elderly folks or are some how physically challenged (twisted ankle after basketball maybe?) and this single washroom is occupied then you will have to climb the stairway to heaven - Wait I mean climb the stairs to the second floor to get to another washroom. After climbing half way up the CN tower in stairs you will be presented a long hallway lined with private stalls on either your right or left. I believe all the ones on the left were female only and the ones on the right are male. Since everything is a private stall anyways I am not sure why there are specific ones for male or female but I didnt bother to venture to explore since all the doors were closed and there is no indicator whether the stall was occupied or not. After fumbling through a few doors I finally found one that was available. The washroom was pretty nice but to kick things up a notch in luxury there was mouthwash available! So if you want to get rid of all that smell of lobster, crab, abalone, shark fin, har gow and peking duck out of your breath then Yu Seafood got your back boys and girls! So please note - The washrooms here are not physically challenged friendly. But if your looking to impress your date and win some brownie points be prepared to help your aunties, uncles, por por and yeh yeh and carry them on your back, climb the CN tower stairs and let them do their business then this is the place for you! I digress though, Yu Seafood is insta-worthy with solid dim sum variety and would be on my recommended short list of Richmond Hill dim sum places but if your ok driving a touch further there are other places that are comparable.

Yelp
Came here for dim sum with a group of 12 ppl and we made reservations. Waited for about 10 mins to 15 mins to be seated. The food came out very quick and there was always someone in the room to take our requests. The washrooms were very clean. Parking can get busy here so be there a little earlier to find a spot!

Yelp
Wow, I mean wow. For an unforgettable dim sum experience, this was it. The best ever to date, and I've done a lot of dim sum over the years. This one topped even my previous dim sum benchmark, the elegant Maxim's Palace in Hong Kong back in 2014. They've got it all here - excellent food quality, classic as well as novel and creative dim sum, excellent service, and a stylish, contemporary, and elegant setting, and to top it off - great pricing to boot! In the end, I couldn't reconcile the very modest price with the experience, but I'm guessing their big business is mostly with their expensive dinners. But for dim sum, it's a win-win for the owners who get occupancy and for us patrons. So, for our third and final dim sum in Toronto on this trip, we ordered: - har gow - siu mai - beef tendon - steamed chicken with mushrooms - scallop and crab meat dumplings - red rice rolls with scallops - red rice rolls with mushrooms and beancurd - pumpkin and chestnut congee - clam and preserved egg congee - bamboo charcoal egg yolk bun - sweet egg yolk layer cake As mentioned, it was all tip-top excellent and delicious. I've never had the exotic red rice rolls and bamboo charcoal egg yolk bun, so that was also fun and interesting. When you enter, the large reception room is not typical restaurant-like but more like a minimalistic but bright and colorful exhibition hall where you register for a table on a digital screen. Then you walk through a longish L shaped hallway that actually houses a big seafood tank visible through some decorative cutouts in the walls. When you exit the hallway, you then enter a large, well decorated, classy, and elegant dining room and you're kind of awestruck walking to your table. It's a different, nice, and memorable experience just to set you up for the food! Other distinctions here were that they also use robot carts for some deliveries and it made for some nice occasional distractions. When you need them, they also have a well appointed corridor of private individual restrooms. In the restrooms, mouthwash is provided and that's a first for me, but also quite nice after having some teeth staining dark strong tea here! There was a $15 CD tea charge for two tea pots and the pre-tip bill was $93.20 CD or $69.04 USD. Wow. Yowsa. Woot Woot. If you're going to do one Chinese meal in Toronto, I say this is the one. Just do it, and you can thank me later.

Yelp
Dim sum is great. Nice restaurant with good service. Would be nice if they had online reservations like the Yorkdale location. Washroom is a bit of a maze.

Yelp
Dishes were tasty but unfortunately we found a small roach in the sweet soup (木瓜雪耳糖水). Reported the problem immediately to the manager but he was too busy to care about our issue. This is our last day staying in Toronto and feels disappointed with such service!!

Yelp
I thought the dim sum here was okay. I felt the seafood stuffed in the dumplings were too big for the flimsy cover. My favorite was the fried rice. Was not a fan of their congee or the beef. The tea was good. The service was attentive. The restaurant itself is beautiful.

Yelp
Went to Yu Seafood for Lunar New Year Dim Sum. It was a special day since they had lion dance to celebrate the new year. The food was alright. Service is good and Ambiance is superior.

Yelp
Food was great! We're from NYC so we're familiar with good dim sum. This place had beautiful decor, clean, and neat. Very orderly as well. The servers attitudes could be a little better though, they were kinda snooty. The big wowser for me was the green crust on top of the pork bun, it tasted like a light pineapple bun crust. It's soooo good. Everything we ordered was pretty good. The not so outstanding dishes were the pork ribs and white steamed pork bun.

Yelp
The restaurant does not take same day reservations so we had to wait for our table. Loooooong wait but well worth it! Food was delicious, service was fast and courteous, and the ambience was fancy and well lit. The four of us totally over-ordered but we couldn't help to finish everything. Will make sure to make a reservation in advance next time!

Yelp
Is it me or is every restaurant in Toronto faaaancy. This place had some ancient artifacts or something along the walls. I felt like I had been transported to somewhere in China. If you have a bigger party, they usually put you in a bigger table in the rooms, but even in the main dining area, there are wide booths so you don't feel close to your neighboring table. Our room of 4 tables had 2 separate servers so we were very well taken care of. I would say it's a decent price for the amazing quality of seafood that is ordered. You can never go wrong with the prefixe menus. If you order lobster or crab, they will bring you the live fella for your approval. They really mastered the frying technique here because they had me eating every piece of batter that had crumbled off the actual food. All the flavors blended together extremely well, there wasn't a dish I didn't enjoy. Parking is a plenty in this big lot.

Yelp
Beautiful establishment that would be Michelin worthy in my mind. Dim sum places like Yu Seafood virtually doesn't exist in NY or places I used to go to in HK. In NY, we expect oily floors, dirty carpets, golden dragons and phoenixes. At Yu Seafood, it's elegant and well decorated. The food is super fresh. Less salty than even the best places in NY which also means less flavor. And that's what I felt unfortunately. I felt some items were straight up bland. But overall the food is good but just didn't hit my level of expectations.

Yelp
I see food... Yu Seafood. We all want seafood! We were on the lookout for a good Cantonese restaurant after running errands at Hwy 7. Hard to believe we'd never dined here. Known for high end ambiance, its popularity's led to a new location at Yorkdale Mall. How often does a Chinese restaurant have a concierge area. We ordered an interesting menu set that included both dim sum & seafood. There's a first time for everything, so while skeptical at first it hit the spot! Huge shrimp dumplings were served with plenty of shrimp filling. Beef rice noodle rolls were also served along with crunchy Chinese fried dough for the dim sum theme. Next came the good stuff. Lobster (4 lb) was prepped two ways. Lobster congee was smooth & creamy with sweet claw meat and garnished with heaping amounts of fresh cilantro & scallions. Succulent lobster served stir-fried in Maggi sauce is a crowd pleaser that always opens our appetite. If we thought the only thing better would've been some noodles, abalone yee-mein soaked in flavour rounded out our decent meal. An attentive waiter served our plates & bowls. Each booth included plexiglass barriers. The restaurant even had private dining rooms as well as a second floor, although it wasn't quite that busy during our afternoon lunch visit. We were impressed by the good ambiance at Yu Seafood, rivalling that of fine dining in Asia.

Yelp
Yu Seafood serves many traditional Chinese seafood dishes with an upscale twist. I came here for dinner and we got a lobster set. The first course is shark fin soup - I expected it to me free floating strands (which are usually imitation shark fin), but it came as a whole intact piece. I've never seen it served before, though whether this is a plus or minus depends on your views on shark fin. The next dish was deep fried battered oysters drizzled with a honey based dressing. I would have preferred a more savory sauce. The third course was the lobster, this was really good and I enjoyed the crispy bits. Finally it ended off with dessert - which was glutinous rice dessert, mango pudding, and almond cookies. This was a nice way to end the meal. The interior is beautiful and definitely makes you feel more bougie, and the servers were constantly looking out to see if they can take away plates or provide extra napkins. They have pre packaged branded wet naps that look and feel luxurious. I would recommend this for special occasions as it'll really impress the party!

Yelp
Dim sum in a fine dining setting. Their dim sum items were all fantastic and service was great. Seats were in booths with acrylic dividers. It was a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Try the items we ordered in our photos, especially the baked char Siu Bao. I believe there is a discount if you come at 10am. Double check it if you want the discount.

Yelp
Dim sum is very tasty, almost rivals the ones in Hong Kong, staff is helpful and welcoming for yumcha standards, but wait times can often be more than an hour long depending on the time or day of the week.

Yelp
this is a upscale Cantonese restaurant that has good presentation and fancy interior. starting off with the peking duck which was decent. the minced duck was served with lettuce cups plus the noodles we ordered were okay. portion sizes are big so we had leftovers to take home. the service however was really disappointing. servers did not attend to us and when they finally did they did not check up on us nor ask if we wanted something to drink. they were also hard to get ahold of and seemed impatient with any questions. food presentation was executed well, overall not bad but the service fell short and makes me hesitant to return.

Yelp
It's been a while but I came back here for dinner this time. And was with a party of 15 people for a birthday occasion. The decor is same with elegance and beautiful. The food however is up and down. Some dishes are good like their steam fish. But their hk style typhon lobster was weird because it was cooked with Thai chili sauce. And the Peking duck the duck skin was good but the wrap was sweet for some odd reason And the cabbage wrap was decent. But the steam crab had too much garlic. It seems through the ordering of 14 or so dishes it was a rollercoaster ride. Of some good and some weird and some bad. Consistency was not their strong suit. Mind you a lot of these dishes were in a combo meal. So you would think it would be all perfected. Overall its not a bad restaurant if you want a comfortable nice looking environment but is not mind blowing. The one thing that has really gone downhill was the service level. It used to be great. Not it's just decent for a Chinese restaurant type. And a lot of things you have to order repeatedly to get like water. Or some dishes since they forgot.

Yelp
Got the set dinner with sashimi, lobster and soup dinner set, which came with 8 courses (the scallops, rice soup not pictured). The sashimi was my favourite part - super fresh. The tuna was not fishy at all, and that's normally the fish that has at least a bit of fishiness even if it tastes fresh. It also came on top of a bed of dried ice which gave it cool visuals. I liked the steamed fish as it was perfectly cooked where the texture was firm but not chewy. The salted egg yolk scallops (not pictured) were also delicious - perfectly cooked and the batter wasn't too oily. Lobster overall was good although some pieces I feel were slightly cooked more than I prefer (a bit chewy). Their fried cooking styles weren't oily when compared to other Chinese restaurants, so you'd like it if you prefer something less greasy. But the flavours were similar to other restaurants.

Yelp
Enjoyed their dim sum, restaurant was clean and everything looked new, however they lost our reservation. The food was very good, and service was good. Note they don't accept credit card.

Yelp
We haven't been here since COVID so it's definitely been a while. We decided to come here for dim sum on a Friday morning. Reservations can only be made for 11:15am and onwards due to early bird dim sum prices. We arrived at 10:30am but had to wait until 11:10am to be seated. Missed the early dim sum and now we know for next time. They have a long sheet of menu items to choose from - lots of variety and options! I do also like the quality of the food and overall presentation. If you're looking for an upscale dim sum cuisine with a nice atmosphere, clean, good quality and reasonable prices, I'd recommend giving them a try!

Yelp
When we arrive the restaurant, there is booking system that requires customers to punch their name and phone number to wait for the table. My sister asked if the senior came and has no cell phone, how they put the request . The receptionist replied that they will help the senior if so. This restaurant has high quality of food. Usually my picky eater dad going for dim sum just chew the steam pork ribs for juice without actually eat it. However he took them all! I also ordered clam congee, and again, my dad ate them all! I also order 2 other dim sum and they are delicious. We wait awhile for the dim sum as it is proven they actually steam the dim sum right after order to make sure the food if freshly make. Compare to some other restaurant, those restaurants may pre steam the food and not taste fresh. The washroom is provided as personal space with individual room with sink and toilet. There is lots of parking. The server will provide clean plate and replace the dirty one during the meal time.
