Having been to many Cantonese restaurants in various cities (outside of Taiwan), this one is good but not stellar, and I feel doesn't justify the very high price.
The Peking duck was good. The chef paid detailed attention when carving it up, and even carved away the thin layer of fat underneath the skin. I have not seen that done in other restaurants. So that's a plus.
Vegetables, as you can see, is just... A plate of vegetables. No plating or presentation here. The jellyfish cold starter dish we ordered was the same. Looked like it came off a buffet table. Diced beef dish was good. Very tender.
Service was attentive. But we were given the bill without having asked for it, which seemed brash. When we inquired, we were also told there is no dessert on the house, not even a red bean soup, which is common in even mid range Cantonese restaurants.
The restaurant and atmosphere itself was nice. This restaurant seems to cater to wedding banquets, company dinners, and otherwise big spenders who prefer a nice atmosphere, but not to those who truly care about having the best food.
