This is one of our HK friends’ go-to spot when they lived in Kennedy town. The restaurant has a vintage, night market style decor, which I find quite cozy. We waited 30 minutes to get in on a Sunday evening.
We ordered bunch of small dishes to share. The portion size is perfect so you can try different flavors. Fried chicken bites, braised pork over rice, pork belly bun, dan zai noodle soup, and fried squid are all excellent. Overall the flavor profile is savory with a slight sweetness and not too spiced. I also like the texture contrast between fried food and rice/noodle dishes. Comforting yet appetizing.
Don’t miss their drinks. The hot ginger tea is excellent. My friend ordered a star fruit drink which he speaks highly of.
If you’re looking for authentic TW food in a cozy setting, this is the place. I wouldn’t line up for more than 30 mins though.
