Yuan's Hot Pot - Review - Rosemead - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Yuan’s is a Sichuan hot pot restaurant in Rosemead with more bells and whistles than a fully loaded sports car. The high-ceiling dining room is stylish, service is snappy, and they give you a custom-embroidered bib to protect your shirt from inevitable soup splashes. Most importantly, Yuan’s delivers on that hot pot essential: fantastic broth. For a small upcharge, you can order three flavors at once, served in a so-called Mercedes pot due to its resemblance to the luxury car logo. The fiery Sichuan-style broth is flavored with a metric ton of red chiles (even the mild is plenty spicy), and both the milder bone broth and tomato broth deliver deep umami. Use a QR code on your table to order anything from giant prawns and lamb belly to tofu puffs and chrysanthemum greens and it all arrives in a flash. There’s also a sprawling DIY sauce station, a snack and dessert bar with cooling brown sugar ice jelly for dessert, and little canisters of sesame oil you can take home gratis. Not only is Yuan’s one of our favorite hot pot places in LA, eating here makes you feel like you’re a game show contestant that just won the grand prize." - Garrett Snyder

If you say Xiaolongkan, Lameizi, and Chunlahao are traditional hot pot places, then Yuan's is the fashionable style, both in renovation and decoration. Yuan's might be the high-end hot pot in Los Angeles. The restaurant has private rooms with full-time waitstaff and serves free snacks that you would normally have to pick up at the dipping station in other hot pot restaurants. The free Sichuan pepper chicken feet were delicious, and the fried sesame balls were hot, crispy, and tasted good. The food was not more expensive than other hot pot places. The specialty was their wagyu beef, which had better quality than others. I don't remember whether they had the nine-block pot. What I saw looked like a Mercedes logo shape, so you could have three kinds of soup base - one especially for fish, one for wagyu, and one for everything else. The pot was funny, with a copper-colored tiger head on the side. I don't know if the direction the head pointed to meant anything. Hot pot is just hot pot. As long as the raw ingredients are fresh enough, it will not be bad. Nowadays, the soup base is no longer a secret. Hot pot is one of the foods that requires the least cooking skills from the chef.

It was actually much better than most critics reviews I saw lately. The environment is good and the services are excellent. Their meats and dishes are very fresh but not on the cheap side. Overall good experience and will come back.

Google
Pretty mediocre hotpot, and not that cheap either. The quality of the ingredients was not good; sliced lamb didn’t seem very fresh, the fish tails weren’t very good, the gluten balls didn’t cook easily. Best dish was the crispy pork! That was delicious! Would order that again. Hotpot base was pretty solid but the non spicy pots were mediocre. The beef tongue was pretty good. Sauce station was standard, not a standout. Atmosphere very bustling, very clean and well decorated environment.

Went here to celebrated my friend's birthday. We got one of their upstairs private dining rooms. Service was excellent. Special thanks to our waitress Mia. She took good care of us and made some great food choice recommendations. The food was fresh and flavorful. The only downside was that parking was a bit challenging.

Google
Yuan's Hotpot offers a wide variety of broth options and we opted for the Ying-Yang hotpot, which allows you to have two different broths in one pot. We chose the Bone Broth Base for the outer circle and the Tomato Broth Base for the inner circle. The sauce station here is a treasure trove for flavor enthusiasts with an extensive array of sauces and the complimentary appetizer and dessert section is a delight. The variety and taste of the free sides and desserts are remarkable, adding extra layers of enjoyment to the meal. The menu boasts an impressive selection of fresh ingredients, including a variety of meats and seafoods and they were all incredibly fresh and of the highest quality.

I can tell that Hotpot is my life 😜 so my husband drove an houre to take me here. I love this hot-pot place. The broth is delicious, and the portions are generous. I believe we were fortunate to have one of the most scenic tables in the house, which has a significant impact on my dining experience. Anyone visiting here would, I believe, experience the gold standard in food quality. These two gentlemen, Ming and Jian, have improved my experience. They were the unexpected gems in my dining experience. They were extremely pleasant, attentive, and sociable. I've learned not to expect good service and instead to appreciate it when I see it. I believe these two men will improve the quality of their surroundings wherever they go. Thank you guys ☺️.

Google
Best hot pot place in LA!! Food: good quality, there are some very attractive house specials. Snack bar is also fun to explore. Service: staff are super attentive, always being around to help fill water, change plates and so on. Vibe: high ceiling, bright lighting and reasonable distance between every table collectively bring a very cozy atmosphere and good appetite to dine in. There are other hot pot places that serve good food but can be overcrowded. Here I can really enjoy my time and relax. They have a parking lot, not spacious but I was able to park immediately every time I came.

Google
Great hot pot place, love their soup base, high quality beef and veggies. The service we got there was great as well, they really made sure you are taken cared of. So glad it's so close to home.

Yelp
What a great place for hotpot. I was here for a dinner on a Friday night. One of the reasons why we selected this place was because they take reservations. There is plenty of parking available in the back of the restaurant and also street parking. The restaurant was not as busy for Friday night, but because we were in a larger group, we were able to get a room upstairs. There are a few rooms upstairs for larger groups, but there is a minimum spend. The rooms upstairs are definitely good if you have a larger group. Yuan's is not all you can eat, so everything is a la carte. They give you an ipad to order. We ordered a lot that night, but some of my favorites were the short ribs and brisket. We also got a bunch of broth to share. My favorite was the mushroom (I thought it would be the spicy one, but I thought it was a little too spicy). They also have a separate sauce bar upstairs so you don't have to go up and down for sauce refills. I believe they also have a few appetizers, which are not upstairs, but the servers will bring you refills. I definitely had a great experience here. There was great food all around. I also want to shout out to the servers who were all so nice and attentive. Even when we were upstairs, they would come by and check in on us. Definitely will be back again soon.

Yelp
Good for small table and going there early. There is a nice selection of all you can eat sides and sweets. Then you order the main entrees for hotpot from the menu. The items are interesting and different. We did mostly veggies and some dumplings and meat. Meat is fresh. Service was good. They were nice to top off the pot every now and then.

Yelp
This was our second time here and we went here on a Thursday night and it wasn't busy at all, so we didn't have to wait. The workers were super attentive .. refilling our waters, taking away empty plates, refilling soups, etc. The food was just as good as other hot pot places I've been to, so I'm glad we came back since this place is way closer to us ~10 minutes away! I like that they let you choose 3 soup bases for only $1 more as other places only let you choose 1 or 2. This is definitely going to be our new go-to mala hot pot place whenever we are craving it!

Yelp
We came w/o a reservation and luckily beat the crowd at around 5pm for a table of four. The server took a bit to come out with some orders in our 4 people set, but their self serve bar has some wonderful sesame balls and other side dishes to enjoy in the meantime. I also enjoyed their crispy pork skin dish! It got busy after we sat down and at some point a hostess got into a screaming match with a customer (??) but other than that the service was accommodating in helping us switch to our set combo from ordering individually. It was a little hard to get a server once it got busy but overall the service was fine. Their meats were nicely marbled, and the quality of their dishes and base was what I expected from its price. I think between Haidilao or Yuan's Hotpot, I'd pick the latter for the more authentic feeling.

Yelp
One of my new favorite hot pot spots! Yuan's hotpot is the perfect balance of traditional flavors and modern vibes. One of the most flavorful bone broth bases that I've tried, their soup bases are clean tasting and a great complement to every ingredient. Meat quality is so soft and tender, I really enjoyed dipping the beef into egg then boiling. I also loved all the presentation. Veggies and meats are fresh and clean. The meat balls and shrimp balls are bouncy and juicy, the juiciest I've ever had. There's a build your own sauce bar with side dishes, yum! Their passionfruit refresher is a great way to cut through the spice and grease and quench the fire in your mouth. Price is reasonable, similar to most higher end hot pot places now. Service was quick and friendly. I will say parking sucks, the lot behind the restaurant is tiny and confusing, it's easier to park on the street or come on a weekday. Also be careful to not touch the lion heads on the pot, they're cute but get hot very quick. Will return!

Yelp
I really like this spot for some Chinese hot pot! If you're coming with a group with people, I would recommend getting the trio flavor soup base so you can pick 3 soup bases for more variety. I've tried the spicy pot, bone broth, and mushroom broth. My personal favorite is the mushroom because it's so fragrant! All items are ordered a la carte but one of my faves is the celtuce, which I haven't seen other spots offer. Tastes similar to a winter melon and it's very refreshing. There's a big parking lot in the back and a ton of street parking. Service was attentive and I like how the tables are really spacious!
google avatar

Mieke C.

Yelp
One of the best shabu-shabu restaurants in LA county! They have the options of one pot, two pots (not half and half, a little circle inside of a big circle pot), and three different soup pots. We tried the three different soups, and they were all good. Service is best, and the atmosphere is pleasant and clean. Feel like you are actually in modern China. They have so many different sauces to boost the flavor of the food. The appetizer and dessert bar was excellent. Parking is free in the back
google avatar

Yelp
A good amount of spicy levels to choose from. I like that they have a number of combo platters to order so for two-person party, it makes it possible to eat more variety rather than committing to one huge plate of one type of item. There's your usual sauce bar and also the snacks bar, both with good variety and kept pretty tidy. The restaurant itself is spacious, *not* stuffy, and has two levels. So even though there might be a wait, it's not too long. For 2 ppl, it was ~$100 subtotal and we were stuffffed. Parking is available via a driveway next to the bldg that leads also to the back with more parking.

Yelp
I loved the tomato soup and the spicy mala soup! Hit the spot with the fresh meat! Loved how they dipped the beef belly in raw egg before they cooked it for you! It's nice that they offer three soups whereas most places offer up to two. A wide selection of build- your-own sauce bar and condiments as well! Can't wait to go back and try more dishes! **side note: the fried rice is a bit oily so please skip :p

Yelp
Reviewing again! Came with family for Saturday dinner around 6pm. Place is usually clean, not loud, but very small in terms of moving around. The place wasn't busy, however, it was a bit lacking on the appetizer station, almost everything was gone so we had to wait a bit for things to get refilled. They had sesame balls, wrapped snacks, cucumber salad, spicy chicken feet, ear wood mushroom, some bitter jelly thing, and porridge. Sauce station is great, lots of selections and some sauces are duplicated on the other side so it's not just one area to grab sauces. We ordered in the phone, apparently only one phone per ordering table. For soup base, we did the trio, bone broth, mushroom, and spicy (mild), the spicy one was actually really red and spicy! No wonder they had a "little bit spicy" option. We ordered many beef slices, lamb, tofu, spam, veggies, enoki mushrooms. We also ordered fried rice cakes and fried pork (?). Very delicious! The only issue was that the enoki mushrooms was a bit discolored and gray, my mom thought it was old or frozen but the servers said it was fresh. Regardless, my mom asked them to return it...

Yelp
The quality of the food, service, ambiance and cost are comparable to Hi Di Lao in Arcadia albeit the space is roomier between the tables and each table shares a massive pot of soup (with up to 3 soup options chosen). The top has tiger handles - so fancy! My family wanted to try it out here for some of their more exotic hot pot items such as fresh goose intestines ($18/order as of Jan 2024). They have quite a few exotic items (various innards and proteins) and premium ones (Miyazaki A5 wagyu). They do not have paper menus so scanning a QR code allows you to view the menu: https://order.mealkeyway.com/customer/release/index?mid=4e516c455a50464b6c3569416c326f6c5343647975413d3d&serviceType=SELF_DINE_IN&guestLogin=true&randomRedirectStr=randomStr%3Ddbba096209b943f3895be2daaff7e28e#/main. You can order from your smartphone and the staff is happy to help. The only thing I wish they had was Chinese menu/letters for all of the options so people who can't read English can read the Chinese. The angus ribeye is fantastic at about $18/plate. The beef belly dipped in raw egg was also fantastic. I tried the tomato and mushroom broths, of which I really enjoyed the latter. The tomato broth was too thick for my taste -- almost like the viscosity of Campbell's tomato soap. I love that the veggies, mushrooms and root vegetables come in combos at $7.99/order so you can get a little bit of all the popular items without having to order each item a la carte. It costs $2.95/person to use their seasoning and side dish bars. The seasoning station is fully stocked with the usuals. The side dish bar had fantastic mini fried sesame balls with red bean paste filling, wood ear mushroom salad, seasoned mushroom salad and pickled chicken feet. The desserts weren't too palatable unfortunately -- strange textures included the slimy and cold white fungus soup, the bland cold jelly with brown sugar syrup and bland purple rice soup. After having a taste of each of those, I settled on a safe few slices of fresh oranges and honeydew melon. I'd absolutely come back here and highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality Chinese-style hot pot.

Yelp
Really nice restaurant, but highkey was disappointed with the food. The service here was pretty good too, they often would check up on you from time to time. We were immediately seated since there wasn't that many people in the restaurant so far. You order everything from the QR code at the table, convenient! We ordered some ribeye, veggie combos, and a lot of misc. items. They do charge for everything, also the sauce bar as well. Their sauce bar was pretty clean and had a good selection to make your own. The side dish bar was also pretty decent, they mainly had snacks there, but I liked the cucumber side dish. They also had the dessert soups there too which I will get to at the end of this review lol. We selected bone, tomato, and spicy broth. So the tomato broth was the least impressive one, it didn't really have that tomato taste? And we don't really often eat spicy food so the bone broth was the safest to get. I only got the spicy broth bc I wanted to try it, but even the mild spice was reallyyyy spicy for me. I drank so much water that dinner lol. The meat quality was just okay, the ribeye was surprisingly tough even if you cook it for a short amount of time. Although, the wagyu meat here was pretty good. I was highly disappointed with the popping fish balls because they didn't have that fishy taste to it. We also got these spicy spareribs and they were just okay. A lot of the items were surprisingly very mid. It seems like maybe their specialty might have been the spicy broth, but it was all too spicy for us lol. My dad wanted rice so we ended up getting the wagyu fried rice, which was pretty okay! Then onto the desserts, I think I only liked the purple rice dessert the most, and my parents liked the watermelon the most lol.

Yelp
Ate dinner here tonight with one guest. You must scan the QR code to see the menu. Ordered Lamb Shoulder and Beef Rib Eye with veggies. A nice vibe of young hipster types and small families. The place is clean and not too noisy. They charge a self service bar charge of $2.95/person!! Do: Order the Beef Rib Eye & Lamb Shoulder and the Mushrooms. Get the little sesame balls for dessert. Stars: 4

Yelp
This place serves very traditional Chinese spicy hot pot. The spicy soup base is very flavorful, but be careful, it's super spicy! Their server is very nice and helpful! I only hope they could turn the AC temperatures down a little bit.
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
Nice spot and a bit under the radar. The spicy soup base is the best. The others are good as well. Had the tomato and the sauerkraut. With they did homemade sauerkraut. You can tel this sauerkraut is store bought. Recommend the bamboo wrapped shrimp and the hand cut beef. Service was so friendly. I was impressed. You order via an app and it was all efficient. Really nice space. Will be back

Yelp
Delicious and fresh!! I finally tried this place out with a couple of friends. Loved how clean and generous the sauce bar was. They also have an appetizer bar that has these really tasty crunchy mushrooms, along with ice jelly dessert, fresh fruits, seaweed salad + more. My favorite is the sweet potato noodle. The meat was super fresh. I also loved the shrimp wrapped in bamboo pith. So good! After dinner we took a tour of the upstairs private dining area. The minimum order for the private rooms is $400, which is very doable for a large group of people. I'm putting this on my list of places to host large parties for next time ~

Yelp
I do really love yuan hotpot! Theres a dedicated lot behind the restaurant. From the online food ordering. The aesthetics of the restaurant to the food. Everything isbgrrat. Even the service for an asian place. Everyone comes in and can order on the app which makes it easy. You can get a bib. Then make it over to the cold appetizers with chicken feet, cucumbers, and wood ear, you also have fruit, cold desserts, and a fried red bean sesame ball. Yum! Then onto the hot pot. I loke to get the trio soup. One hot, bone broth, and switch between mushroom or tomato. Oh yeah then get a apron and head over to the sauce bar. The for the main dishes you cant go wrong with the various beefs, the braised meats, and veggies. I do like the snake fish which you dont see often!

Yelp
Im not local. I went there as recommendation from a friend. Food was ok. They charged almost $3 per person for bar self service but when I was there, bar was 95% empty food but still got charged. I was really disappointed. One of the server were kind of impolite too.

Melanie W.

Yelp
Very very disappointed with this service, this is my second visit, and the reason why I came for a second visit is because of their whelming service. We came in at 8.40 pm and we knew that they closed at 10 pm, and we ordered our food immediately, the bleach skinny male server came to bring our food and clean the tray where we put our empty plates by OURSELVES. We took our extra chopsticks and napkins by OURSELVES, but no one came to us to ask if we doing ok. Our soup is almost empty and we need to keep looking for ONE server to refill the soup. This is really ridiculous. When we asked for a manager, they said the manager was not there and NO ONE could come to handle this problem. I guess is because we are a party of 7 and they could charge a gratuity fee to us, so they just ignore the service and start to do their closing side job. THANK YOU for this ridiculous service, I will ask all of my friends not to come to this place for this " friendly " service.
google avatar

Yelp
Clean and friendly service. First time here and ordered the trio soup base pot. Food was fresh and their sauce bar had a great variety. Parking does get filled up and expect a wait on weekends. Pro tip: get on their Yelp waitlist prior to arriving to restaurant.
google avatar

Kelly G.

Yelp
Yuan's Hotpot in general is very clean and I love the environment. They also have a generous sauce bar with instructions to sauce recipes in the wall. I very much enjoy their attention to detail (providing apron, hair tie, mini toothbrush, etc), but I personally just don't think their food is the best. This is very subjective, but I do not like their soup base. I normally get the tomato soup base at places like haidilao and wagyu house, but I feel like the tomato soup base here just doesn't taste that great. Their meat quality can definitely be a bit better. I ordered the Wagyu beef, lamb, etc, and when they first came it was still quite frozen. I wouldn't say it was bad meat, but it wasn't something that would melt in your mouth. I will say, their crispy pork was actually SO GOOD! Unfortunately, if my favorite item at a hotpot place is their crispy pork, it says a lot.

Yelp
Excellent chinese style hot pot in a posh if small and cramped dining room. Fresh ingredients in artful presentations, attentive waitstaff - everything about this new place (opened a few months ago) exudes class and sophistication. Excellent value as well - two hungry people can stuff themselves for around $80 (add $2.99/person for the salad bar). Wait time - Use Yelp waitlist, no wait before 5:30p, small parties of 2-4 also get seated quickly. Parking - on street or small lot to the left of the restaurant. Park in the large plaza next door and you will be towed!

Yelp

Yelp
This place is a definite must-try - the soup is on point, side dishes bring authentic vibes, and the service deserves an A+. Double recommendation - it's that good!

Joanna T.

Yelp
Horrible service. We had reservations for 9pm. We ended up waiting still based off first come first serve. Then the hostess was going to give away our table to another table that came in after us. I told her that we were there first and that's when she sat us. We didn't get seated until 945pm. When we did get seated, they pointed at a QR code and walked away. We tried ordering from there but the app kept stopping us. We had to leave our table to get someone's attention to help get us physical menus since their app wasn't working. Food was basic hot pot. Nothing spectacular. 100% would not recommend this place.

Yelp
Definitely my *fave* hotpot spot in LA right now! Their soup broth is so hearty and the meat is beyond fresh!!! High recommend the spicy, tomato and bone broth combo. As for the dishes love love love the fried pork, fresh pork meatballs, beef short rib and pork belly! Totally skip the beef balls and hand cut beef.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is good, the atmosphere is okay. However, ordering is a problem. First you have to use their app to order. I put in an order, then wanted to order more food. The app had a line that said "Order more food." Apparently when I ordered more food it duplicated the first order. All of a sudden I was getting the first order including the new orders. I also ended up with an order of rice I didn't make. When I told them I didn't order rice one of the waiters said he saw me order rice. The restaurant staff took off some of the duplicate items but not all. So we ended up paying for food we ordered twice. Until they fix their ordering app I won't be coming back to this restaurant. And I don't recommend it either.

Yelp
Wow have I stepped into China??? Even walking in the smell in the air reminded me of restaurants in China. The decor and tables are like the hot pot spots you'd find in China. Let me tell you, usually with these hot pot spots the extra dishes aren't great. I was blown away at the goodies you get in the dessert self serve! There's all kinds of candy and fried sweets. The fried sesame ball and taro ball was so fresh and crunchy. Don't get me started on the sweet soup options! They had sweet rice and glutinous balls. The red bean soup, then some other herbal ones I have no idea how to spell in English. Moving onto the hot pot! The soups were flavorful. I loved them all. We got Szechuan, bone broth, tomato. That Szechuan definitely lingers in spicy. All ingredients were fresh too! Can't go wrong with anything. They even give you a bib and hair tie! Service was like Michelin level. The waiter would come and clean the dirty napkins and plates before I was even done. Haha if that's not perfect service I don't know what is. After everything we ate we were stuffed and it still was a great price!

Yelp
Solid for hot pot, with pretty decent service, although some caveats that make them tough for smaller groups (and possibly good for slightly larger groups). Modern interior and feel, tables and burners seem to be extra large, which is great to fill a table with 4 people with food, but also a bit hard to talk/hear each other if just 2 or even 3 of you. The interior is also a bit loud from however it's laid out, so ambient noise is rough. And the pots are very decorative, be careful not burn yourself on the tiger head shaped handles. Sauce bar is pretty decent but only single containers/pots for some of the more commonly used items, ditto for the appetizer/dessert bar. Food is actually quite good in quality, with angus beef and a sliced lamb-- the lamb in particular was good, and the tripe portions were generous. The assorted tripe/aorta as well as just the beef tripe plate, nom. Yam noodles and veggies are solid too. Fish balls were more than okay, but seemed to set tone-- good but not memorable. And while my friend loves sheep brain I am not sure if it's more for show or what...? In the end it was not a bad visit, but something about the overall experience felt just a bit less enjoyable than some of their competitors.

Yelp
First time here and I am bookmarking this place so I can return again :) yup I enjoyed it that much. When I saw the photos of this place, I already thought it looked nice and fancy. Upon entering, yes to nice but fancy not so much. I still enjoyed the atmosphere with the Chinese music playing. Food quality was great. Everything was clean and fresh. Ok maybe the intestine wasn't that great but everything else was a 10. Definitely, loved the sliced pork kidney at $9.99. I think the reg ones were $7.99. Angus Beef short ribs @ $12.99. Good portion size and the taste was great. Good portion for the fresh tofu @$4.99 and Tofu pork blood @$9.99. Everyone needs to get this lol it was so fresh...like I m eating jello instead of blood. Veggies was fresh - portion was a bit small for the price but it was ok. You gotta pay for the self serve bar for less than $3 for each individual. However, you do get the snack bar, variety of sauces, the appetizers and desserts. I ordered the brown sugar rice cake @$9.99. It was good when it was warm. Not too sweet but I don't think I can eat more than one. I wish they would do half order instead lol I also ordered the plum Juice @$7.99 for a pitcher. For the price, I think it was a bit small. Plum juice was good tho. There were different options for the broth. You can choose 1 soup, 2 soups or trio but of course the more soups you want, the more you gotta pay. I think for trio was @$17. I got the 1 soup - bone broth for $12.99. What I thought was cool was the apron that they provided for each individual to put on so you don't get your clothes stained or dirty. Reminded me of Boiling crab with the bibs but I prefer aprons lol I never wore the bib but I didn't hesitated wearing the apron lol it looked nice. Service was good! They do check in on you to make sure everything is ok. They also speak English so it was easy to ask for things or help. To order, you gotta scan the QR code and pick your soup first. Place the order for the soup so they can bring it out. Then you can spend as long as you want to add in whatever else you want and place order. If you want more, don't worry! You will be able to add additional items. Clean RR- multiple stalls Parking avail but pretty small and the place can get pretty packed as it gets darker. An awesome experience. So full!

Yelp
This is now my go-to hot pot place! Super yummy food and a good environment! The downside is that it can be kind of expensive. For four people, it will be around 200 plus dollars. I like using Yelp to make reservations during the weekend because it can get pretty packed. Very thoughtful of them to provide disposable toothbrushes and floss in the restroom. Let's admit it, with all the garlic and spice the mouth goes through a lot. It's always nice to have something to refresh it.

Yelp
Everything from the appetizers, soup base and hot pot ingredients were great! Really enjoyed the cucumber and chicken feet appetizers - we couldn't stop eating them and kept going back for more. Got the trio soup and chose the mushroom, spicy, and pork bone. The pork bone broth was my fave cause it tasted really healthy without being too salty. Drinking the soup after all the food was cooked in it was still really delicious. All the ingredients for the hot pot was fresh. The beef was really good quality - it didn't have too much fat on it but was still very soft to eat.

Yelp
Parking was crappy. Small little lot in the back that extends to the left so I parked on the street that had 2 hour parking. Inside there's plenty of space. We went for lunch on a Sunday and made reservations just in case but it was pretty much empty at 1pm. All of us had never been there so we had 2 people order for the whole party. The ordering system was based off a QR code on your table and you choose what you want and just basically order from your phone which kinda sucks cause you're touching things and your phone and wasting battery just to order food.... Soups were more to flavor our food, we got mushroom, beef, and spicy... I tried the broth and it was just oily but gave a good kick to the veggies and meat. The sauce station didn't really have suggestions so my sauce came out a little salty and I don't think I would even know how to replicate it. All I remember was the angus beef short rib priced at $12.99 which had a good amount of fat and wasn't too chewy or rough if we left it in the soup too long. Overall I would go back. We ordered a passion fruit juice for the table for $11.99 and with the amount of food we all eat it was decently priced at about $35-40 per person. Fun for groups but I saw small tables of two as well. Also the restroom was cute. They had a station with hand sanitizer, toothpicks, and cue tips and cotton rounds for some reason lol but I appreciate the toothpicks!

Yelp
Came here on their first night open! I think this is a good hot pot option in this part of town. They do use Yelp waitlist, so take advantage to avoid a long wait unless you get here early. Service was attentive throughout. Their system is really smooth with ordering online through a QR code so everyone at your table can add things and see the cost upfront before placing your order. I'm not a spicy eater so I went with the bone broth. It's still pretty flavorful. You could also choose to do half and half or even 3 different soups in one pot. I would say the cost and meat quality is about mid-range. About $50-60 per person should fill you up nicely. Plenty of options for everyone. Can see myself back. Presentation and interior is nice too. Lives up to the pictures from the business although where we were eating was pretty bright in comparison. Still good lighting and comfy seats. Parking might be a little tough in the lot when it gets busy since there aren't a ton of spaces. To enter the private lot in the back, I recommend entering and exiting from the back alleyway via Muscatel Ave since the front driveway is so tight it only fits one car and the visibility isn't the best with how they have it built.

Yelp
I love this place so much. I'm ashamed to say that when I first discovered them, I ate there 3 times in the same week LOL BUT, that leads to the first thing that's good about it: the price. I think, for the portions they give, the price is really good. It's not as low as all-you-can-eat places, but it's very affordable imo (and the quality is way better than an all-you-can-eat place). The servers are the nicest people ever, the sauce area is always clean, and the food is amazing. The have an extensive menu and their soup bases/ broths are all really good. They're famous for their extra spicy broth and my friends always get that, along with other ones. I'm too weak for that sauce and I cry just watching them eat it lol, but it smells amazing. The only thing that isn't convenient is the parking. They have street parking and back lot parking, but the back lot only has about 10 spaces. It's also one-way, so if you're trying to exit, you would exit out the back and down an alley, but there are cars coming from other restaurants and it gets clogged easily. But it's just the way the buildings were situated way back when; there's not much to do about it. We like parking on the street to avoid this. Worth the stop if you're in the area!

Yelp
This place is having their soft opening so they're having a fat promo which is 42% off your entire bill from now until early August. So, of course I had to go try it knowing that they also had Wagyu on their menu! I know the place was already going to be super busy because of the promo that's going on, so I decided to waitlist on Yelp right when they open, which is at 5pm. It says it was a 200 minute wait already. Good thing it allowed me to wait without being there so I left when it was almost my turn which at that point had already been 4 hours from then. Parking was a tricky. They had a parking lot in the back but it was very small and had no spots left so I parked on the street instead. The ambiance was great. Very nice and clean. Their pot also had a dragon head on it which was very unique. They had a sauce bar and my favorite was their mushroom sauce. They also had a snack bar with different fruits and appetizers. I got a bunch of their garlic cucumber and it was so addicting and crunchy! If you can't handle spicy, i would say the mushroom soup is the best. I also got Chengdu fried rice and it was so delicious! They had a bunch of expensive type meats which I ordered such as wagyu beef, ribeye, beef belly, shrimp paste and more. My least favorite would probably be the marinated beef tongue as it was a bit too tough for my liking. We also got their veggie combo which consisted of tonghao, spinach, and cabbage. It was very worth because they packed it with a lot of veggies. Their quality was very good and it's definitely considered as a high end restaurant with quality meats. Service was also great despite them being so busy. The servers constantly came and checked up on our table and filled up our soups without us even asking. Would recommend this place if you want some authentic Chinese hot pot!

Yelp
Like a cliche~~ I would give zero stars if I could. First of all, the food is just plain and overpriced. My husband is now having some stomach upset after eating the tripes, but not just that... One of the waiters actually told us to write a bad review so their owner can see what happened! Go figure... It's a freezing day today that's why we came out for hotpot. Unfortunately the next door neighbor (happy ? Hotpot) is completely packed. So we made the mistake of going to this one. I think they only survive from the spillover. Then... Before i could even eat anything, the guy that brought the hotpot knocked over my water cup and I was soaking wet. I kind of felt bad for him, after all it was an accident, but I was extremely uncomfortable sitting in my wet pants. I went to tell the woman who claimed she's the manager and asked if she had dryer in their bathroom. (No) She hastily said sorry and tossed me a bunch of napkins. Then she said she would bring some dishes and beverages for my misfortune. We were almost done with our meal and no one came. My husband waved her down. It's not like it mattered or any extra would make me better; I was literally sneezing by now. She then came by and handed me a can of 7-up. Oh man. Can she possibly do even worse? Never mind she did not bother to ask if I even drink soda (I don't) I was pissed and left to my car to take off my wet pants. My husband apparently told her she was not considerate and her reply was "what's wrong offering you a cold drink? It goes with hotpot." My husband could not believe his ears. As he left a waiter told him to write a review. So here it is. There are like 1000 hotpot places in San Gabriel valley. I would recommend going somewhere else.

Yelp
My Favorite Hotpot in Town! I've visited many times, and it's my favorite hotpot in town! I love their appetizers and the variety of food. Mia, who serves us almost every time, is super nice and helpful. It's a perfect place for gathering with friends. Highly recommend it!

Yelp
I would say this is a very authentic sichuan spicy hot pot restaurant. So be aware it is spicy although you can order a non spicy pot. But what's the point to t one here? Parking is street and rear lot. The restaurant has a very modern and airy interior which is different than most of the Chinese hot lot places. They have a sauce bar and snack bar. The snack bar offers different Chinese dessert soup and crackers. Very cute. The most important part of the hot pot is the sauce. Their sauce bar has everything you can think of! Feel free to DIY any dipping sauce! Enjoy! Hot pot soup base is very tasty but very and hot. The food ingredients are fresh. Very authentic chili pot!

Yelp
Restaurant: 5/5clean, spaces, nice decor Food: 4.5 /5 appetizers are delicious. I like how they have many different types of sesame balls, and they are Freshly made. We got beef tongue, angus beef short ribs, beef belly, combo veggies, combo mushroom, shrimp paste. I don't like the shrimp paste much, a bit salty to me. Can't taste the sweetness of the shrimp. The beef is fresh and well presented. I like the beef tongue. I like it big, taste fresh and you gotta cook a bit longer than the other one. The broth taste natural, does not have a taste of seasoning/ msg. I ordered little spicy only and it is pretty spicy to me. Beef taste good dipping in the spicy broth. Veggies are good with the bone broth. I think bone broth and mushroom are somil Service 5/5: friendly and polite. The server gave me a hair tight, I think that's very thoughtful. Price: a bit pricey but not We came here in a rainy cold day. I'm glad i found this place . Good experience. Will come back

Yelp
I can tell that Hotpot is my life so my husband drove an hour to take me here. Thank you guys .

Yelp
My parents and I came on a Saturday around 3pm. The restaurant was really empty, and we were seated right when we got there. This place reminds me of Hai Di Lao - pay per item. The cool thing about this place was the hot pot itself - it had a lion head on it and the bowl was big. Also, they give you aprons like hai di Lao does ( you can't take it home). Price: $135 for 3 people. Customer Service: not much to say here, but no complaints. Food: There were a lot of options to choose from to make your sauce which was a pro. Some options I've never seen before in a hot pot place. Another thing is that you automatically get charged for the self service bar ($3/person). I'd say it's not worth it, as there was not much side dishes, and the few that were there were empty and didn't look fresh, so we didn't really get any... Also do NOT recommend the desserts they have (ex. grass jelly), tastes like nothing and not good overall. Honestly everything was pretty mid, I don't observe much of a difference in terms of quality or flavor from this place vs an AYCE shabu place. The shabu meat ordered was beef belly and angus beef short ribs (I believe). It was good, but I honestly don't really remember much from it - just that the beef belly looked cool with the egg in the middle when we got it. My parents ordered the dishes, so I ate whatever was on our table. Nothing I ate left a lasting impression. TLDR; The fact this place isn't AYCE should be considered a scam. It could've been the items ordered, but nothing made me think, "wow! That's why this place is expensive". Save your money and go next door to Happy Lamb Hot Pot next door for more options and AYCE instead.

Yelp
A little background about me: I don't particularly chase after hotpot joints but my wife LOVES hotpot. We have tried so many places from Irvine, to vietnamese town, to hacienda to rosemead, to San Fran. I love this place. The broth is great and the portions are very generous. I think we got lucky that we have one of the best scenic tables in the house, which definitely impacts my dining experience. I believe anyone coming here would enjoy the gold standard in food quality. Now what made my experience better are these two gentlemen, Ming and Jian. They were the gem that happen to be part of my dining experience. They were very nice, attentive and sociable. I have learned to never expect good service but rather appreciate it when I see it. I believe that wherever these two men go, they'll heighten the quality of their surroundings. Whenever you have a bad day guys, remember that someone appreciates your character. Ming and Jian

Yelp
Came here with friends for a birthday dinner. They have an awesome bar for snacks (e.g., shrimp chips, sesame balls, fresh cut fruits and cold dishes) We tried out their cold dishes like the vinegar chicken feet, and their cucumber salad! And you definitely will need these when you get their spicy pot. More on that later. We also got some of the chips and sesame balls that were super yummy. They have some chips in mini bags and it was so convenient. They also let you take some home to eat! Their sauce bar has every sauce you can think of! The only thing that was hard was that some of them had English labels and the rest were Chinese so it was hard to know what was what. I just threw everything in my sauce bowl lol. We ordered their trio and it was beautifully displayed but here's the thing, their spicy level was crazy. They have a "almost not spicy" level and that is a level 6.... Hahaha we were like it can't be that bad and my spice tolerance is high. I was so numb from the spice. It would be a perfect soup base for winter instead of summer hahah. The waiters were VERY attentive and I loved it and they were so nice to explain everything to us. The waiters came to sing happy birthday and they were VERY LOUD if you request haha I was so embarrassed but it was funny! Give this place a try! They have a lot of different cuts of meats and organs!

Yelp
1. Very tasty, wide selection of fresh protein choices. They have stuff for the authentic lovers like pig brain and shrimp paste wrapped in fungi. The tofu skin was thin and textured, perhaps the best I've ever had. They had long skinny fresh bamboo shoots that I don't see at other restaurants. Just look at my pictures. This is what he of the few places where you can 3 flavors of soup. Their appetizers (not hotpot) dishes are bomb: I recommend trying fried pork and pig feet. 2. cost effective compared to other hotpot spots of the same. Great service and cool decor (golden tiger head handle bar for the pot). 3. Most of the complaints are about the long wait. I recommend putting down your name on Yelp as soon as they open. I put down my name around 5:45pm and got a table past 7pm. I recommend coming here with good friends who have good conversation and don't mind waiting; do not bring awkward first dates here (we don't need negativity lol jk).

Yelp
Went here with a group of friends and it was around 45 min - 1 hr wait as we went during peak hours. Would recommend signing in and checking in just to be sure! Also, careful with parking as it's very tricky to find; parking lot is small. Food: 10/10. The broth and meats were so good! You can tell it's high quality! They also have an open bar for appetizers and sauces. The cucumbers were me and my friends favorite!! So awesome how you can customize your sauces too! Service: 10/10. All the servers were so nice from the greeter down to the people serving our food! So nice and attentive! Would definitely recommend this place to other friends!
