Tempe’s original live-music bar where local punk, indie, and touring acts share tight stages. Phoenix New Times has applauded it for fostering the Tempe Sound; the lounge adds deep beer lists and the Electric Bat Arcade.

Google
Total thumbs up if you are looking for a great dive bar open since 1974. Messer Chumps played here and also Agent Orange. It’s in a strip mall parallel configuration with half dedicated to art installations. They don’t have Heineken. The Bat Cave is attached with amazing collection of pinball machines plus another lounge to the other side. Crowd has lots of energy. Bands are great. PA system is old but adequate. World Class Dive Bar!

Yucca Tap Room is the perfect mix of great live music, solid drinks, and laid-back digs in Tempe. The intimate stage keeps you close to the performers, and they rotate bands every night, punk, rock, local acts, all with no cover or small fees. With 29 beers on tap, cocktail options, and a kitchen serving burgers, nachos, breakfast burritos, and more late-night, it’s got everything you need in one place. The staff are friendly and the arcade adds a fun twist. Great spot to catch music, hang out with friends, or even drop in for early morning drinks. A true Tempe classic!

Google
The bar had three sections: an arcade, live music, and a DJ. The atmosphere was fun and lively, and I really enjoyed the sour beer—it was refreshing and unique. A great spot with something for everyone. Definitely worth a visit!

Google
Never had the food yet, but the place is badass! It's a decent size building with 3 different portions. One is a pool hall with a medium sized bar, which the floor is sometimes converted for dancing. The middle area has a stage for live music and a large bar area. The 3rd section has a small bar but it has a huge area of pinball and arcade games. From security, the bar tenders and even the patrons have all been great. Good vibes, great time highly recommend it. I follow yucca tap room on Facebook to see their different events.

Google
A true hidden gem in Tempe! This classic dive bar has been a local staple for years, offering a no-frills, laid-back vibe with occasional live music that keeps things lively. But the real standout is the back half of the bar—packed with an impressive lineup of pinball machines. It’s hands down the best pinball bar in Phoenix, not just for the sheer number of games, but because the owners take excellent care of them. Clean, well-maintained, and always fun—pinball lovers won’t be disappointed!

Google
Yucca tap room is an awesome dive bar to try out once. There's an area for live music. The arcade also has a great vibe. Carrying cash or cents is a must (withdrawing cash is not cheap). There are a few board games and a pool table, free for all. The beer selection is great. However, what I didn't like was the food. There was a relatively small selection (changes every day of the week). It was mediocre, and it just felt like it was not made in house. Service was slow, mainly because there were only 2 employees at the bar counter. But I really enjoyed spending 3-4 hours here with some friends, so I'll definitely recommend trying it out at least once!

Google
We were there for a punk show and overall had a great time. However, there were ZERO fans on the entire show, in the stage room. There were fans all over the place on the floor against the walls, but they wouldn't turn them on for whatever reason. That part of the night was just icky and miserable. Hot is a drastic understatement. My newly bought gray LTJ shirt was so soaked, i looked like i was lactating due to the way we were crammed and absorbing each other's sweat 😓 Not cool guys! Airflow of any kind would have helped... The pinball arcade was A BLAST! They have dang near every pinball machine you could ask for. This part of the night was great. There was amazing airflow at a delightful temp of 85. If you're from Phoenix, and used to this soul frying heat then this is a good thing. The servers in the game room were all very friendly and interactive, and the drinks were tasty. Overall a good time was had by all! We're definitely going back for more shows that are coming up in the next few months.

Google
Great dive bar. $5.50 Bloody at 6 a.m.. Way to start the day. But what got me was the outrageous amount of pinball machines. It was amazing. Classic and new machines in great condition. Want to go back soon.

Yelp
It's a dive bar be careful they put an extra drink on our tab. We had 4 drinks there for 30 minutes and the lady that is a partner of the bar added that extra drink not sure how she could forget so quickly and add and extra one Keep an eye on your drink tab

Yelp
Went to the establishment watch a pump rock band they do charge to come and watch the music here. They didn't have my normal and I didn't expect them to, but it was worth a shot. No pun intended. But typical guy for very seating looking punk people in a punk establishment super fun drinks for crazy strong and clear silo cups lol it was a great experience and the band so he's a good overall dive experience. The bathrooms are clean.

Yelp
This review is mainly for the food vendor posted here, Moodie Blacks . Me and a friend came in because we had heard rave reviews about the food. It did not disappoint! I had the Bobby tacos, and my friend had the rancheros Gabriel. Both were amazing! Such great flavors. The tortillas are handmade ! I am looking forward to coming back on a Friday soon to try the smashburger. Great service from both the food vendor and the bartender. We got mimosas to go with our brunch food, and the bartender made it perfect, just a little juice with mostly champagne. They also have a really cool arcade inside, with a ton of pinball machines, among other games. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Yucca Tap Room is dark, grungy, punk -- and I love it. The dive bar vibe is strong in the best way possible. There's an awesome pinball arcade, other fun games, and unique art all around the parking lot that makes it feel like a local landmark. I've honestly never had a bad time here. The bathroom? Yeah, it's a little intense -- but you adapt. It's not for everyone, but if you're into that gritty, underground feel, it's a must. They also host live music pretty often, sometimes with a small cover charge. Rating: 4/5 -- totally my kind of scene.

Yelp
YTR is the epitome of a dive bar and a good place to catch some live music. The tables and chairs here are a little worse for wear, but the bartenders are super nice and whatever is lacking in the furniture, it makes up for it in personality and there's an arcade and mini tiki bar next/attached to the YTR. What's not to like? There is a shuffleboard table, but it was not in use on the night I went, plus, it was covered, could be due to the bands playing that night. I didn't get to try the food during my visit, the QR code kept on crashing on my phone and there was no other way to order. The drinks are pretty strong and the mai tai that I tried from the arcade bar was surprisingly blue, but on the better end of the mai tais that I have tried thus far. I would definitely come here again.

Yelp
My favorite punk rock bar! Good food, good drinks and good company. The new pizza kitchen is amazing! And the staff will treat you like family.

Yelp
First, I want to shout out SO LOUD for the bartenders I've had the pleasure of being served by (so far!): Lola, you are OUTSTANDING. Ren, you are AWESOME. I'm not sure of the bar back's name, but he's on top of it! Also shout out to the security staff and door dudes. I have always been treated so kindly and I legit feel safe at all times. Thank you! This place is an all-around bad ass place to be. The shows have been phenomenal. The staff keeps it real. If you've been on the fence, jump off!
google avatar

Shane M.

Yelp
If you are looking for a great place to take a date and enjoy some very well taken care of pinball machines then the tap room is the place. Spent a couple of hours playing pinball while enjoying some cold beer. There is a hidden tiki bar as well. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Love love love this place! Amazing place to see up-and-coming, bands, or even open mic night, DJ night is always fabulous and hilarious. The bar staff is amazing, especially Dan the bartender who is so super friendly! And don't get me started on the food! All the tacos are delicious, my friend loves the cheesy mac & cheese balls, i've had the pulled pork sandwich, and that is super delicious.. so barbecuyy and yummy! Menu prices are great and very affordable. Today I'm excited to have the fry bread which is described as crispy, Golden, and topped with honey, cinnamon and powdered sugar. What heaven am I in?? I sooo love it here!

Yelp
UPDATE to answer Ben: Were you or were you not the hosts of AstrudAurelia, 3IDragon, and more bands tonight? Don't try to gaslight me. I was just as perplexed to see dozens of bags inside after being told "because of the political climate, I haven't let anyone inside with a bag so they must have come in before me" only to WATCH him let another girl in and then be told "well she doesn't look like she's going to kill someone" so apparently I was specifically discriminated against...because I'm tall? currently bald? born male? wearing lipstick and earrings? I'd love to know but unfortunately instead of answers I was told to leave. Great "security" ya got! Should be called "Insecurity" for how much your "guards" are full of it. After reading your 1* reviews I realized I shouldn't be surprised...putting the YUCK in YUCKA. ************* Unfortunately, despite being a "haven" for LGBTQIA+, they happily employ transphobic and homophobic staff. I came tonight with a purse no bigger than 10.5x7in at the bottom and 9.5x7in at the top, and...was told they have a "no bag policy". Half an hour in, it occurred to me that almost every woman had a purse: a few considerably larger than mine, and most others a little smaller in what they could feasibly hold -- but around the same size or only slightly smaller in aesthetic. I asked someone to go with me for moral support, and asked the employee what was up with the discrepancy. Right after defensively responding that Yucca is reputably non-discriminatory to the LGBTQIA+ community, a cishet looking lady walked in with a bag. We looked right back at him and asked him if there was actually a rule or if it was just a double standard and his response was exactly what you, dear enlightened reader, are expecting... "If you want to argue, you can leave. I don't want to deal with this." That is correct. When asked to verify why choices were made, the employee had no response. Just toxic authority, abusing the authority to avoid being honest. The cruel irony is we live in a right to serve state, if they want to be honest about their discrimination, the only thing stopping them is guilt. Needless to say, I will never be back, and I will be preaching to all of my LGBTQIA+ friends and allies that Yucca is REGRESSING...and apparently proudly!

Yelp
The Yucca has always been a small quaint bar and venue. We've seen amazing bands play here through the years. Customer service at the bar was great with the male bartender. The bathrooms could use some improvement, but that's typical. Saw The Smoking Popes play last night and it was rad, as always.

Yelp
After lastnight yucca is unforgettable and will forever be my favorite place ! Hands down one of the best bars in Tempe '! Love the vibes and great staff & amazing drinks & Jell-O shots !

Yelp
Great owner & staff!!! Wish seating area & back room entrance were arranged more conveniently for guests Music was entertaining for sure

Yelp
Every reviewer should take into context what you're reviewing. In this edition of Natalie's reviews, I am taking on a DIVE BAR. DIVE BAR requirements (as defined by AI): UNPRETENTIOUS ATMOSPHERE. Check! Yucca is as unpretentious as they come. Show up however you want, as long as you have an ID to get in and money for a pint. MINIMAL DECOR. The items on the wall are devoid of frill, but instead are covered in wood paneling and beer signs. Delightful. DIVERSE CLIENTELE. Local band is playing on the stage, people of all shapes and sizes at the bar, while my friend is yelling (to be heard over the bass) that she brings all her corporate employees here when they visit from other countries. Apparently, the executives in Japan, Spain, and Europe are all BIG fans of this spot. Especially the back rooms that are filled with some of the best pinball games and even a little tiki bar! AFFORDABILITY. Yeah. This place is not going to cost you an arm and a leg or even a hand. The cost for everything is incredibly reasonable and the service is great to boot. It's a dive bar for all other dive bars to aspire to.

Yelp
Hands down!! The BEST place to play pinball in PHX area, In my personal Opinion! The Staff is Always Courteous, Nice & pleasant! There's usually at least one awesome band (or bands/sometimes 3 in a night) playing, most of them traveling bands as well. Pool tables, Music, Pinball(3 BIG ROOMS of MACHINES!!), And they are ALL very well kept and maintained, plus they Always have the "Latest New Releases " of Pins too! Highly Recommend "The Bat" to ALL!! **AND, they have a Pinball Tournament EVERY TUESDAY NIGHT @ 6:30( ANYONE May enter) , as well as MANY other tournaments at other times throughout the week (&Month) as well! If You dig playin Pinball? You WILL NOT Be Disappointed!!
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
Georjie breakfast burrito is so tasty.. she even customizes it cuz I am a life long vegetarian and I ask for no meat but add pico and sour cream.. she also wraps it perfectly. The attached arcade Electric Bat is amazing and open almost 24 hours.. go play.

Bobby K.

Yelp
Bartenders are a joke there. Every time I go in there it takes 15-20 minutes to get a drink and I'm a big tipper. If I owned that bar I would have 3 bartenders in the main bar on music nights.
google avatar

Randy R.

Yelp
Ahh, yucca tap room is the coolest dive bar around really. Good music and beer. The food is your typical bar food but it's good. Not sure if Derek still works here but he's the coolest and always gives good service! If anyone wants to know, a "yucaa night" means that you stay up at light and come to yucca at 7am for bloody Mary's! Love this place!
google avatar

Malachi L.

Yelp
I like this place. More people should come to the open mic nights on mondays! Its clean and its easy to navigate and its easy to socialize with friends as well as strangers.

Amy K.

Yelp
Fun place to spend an evening with friends. Multiple different atmospheres within the same restaurant. They have a stage with live performances some nights, karaoke other nights & the electric bat arcade was huge and we spent well over an hour there. There is a separate "tiki" bar within the arcade which had delicious drinks & a souvenir cup that is good for $1 off if you bring it back next time. Didn't try the food - but plan to come back again!
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
Best damn dive bar in the country. Music was great and staff was friendly. Great selection of everything. Including people
google avatar

Nichole B.

Yelp
This is a fun dive bar with a small stage and live music. There's also a Yelp check-in offer here so take advantage of it and get half off your first drink! It also is conjoined with the neighboring Electric Bat Arcade and they have their own little tiki bar, worth checking out!
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Nice to have a club in town that has a lot of my kind of bands come through. I just wish the sound guy could tell the bands, "Hey - it's a small venue, tell your drummer he doesn't need to play so loud." On my last visit, the opening band did a good job of playing to the room (I could hear the music, and each instrument). The next three bands all played very loud (particularly the second band - had to go to ear plugs and couldn't really hear the tunes). Not sure if this is just a thing in Phoenix (I've seen it at other clubs around here), or just they way live music has evolved. The bartenders and security were doing a great job - everybody was happy and safe. Good spot, but please, let's improve the sound!!

Yelp
Ambiance- it's with an old dive bar should be! Pinball is lots of fun. Great live music and excellent choice of drinks. Two bars & great staff

Kandice B.

Yelp
Truly one of my all time fav bars in Tempe. They have an amazing rotating craft beer selection, really good food and great Live music . I come here for a beer after work to relax but also always bring friends for a rad time. Any show you see at Yucca is sure to be fantastic because of the intimate set up. Saw amigo the devil here and he played on top of the bar ! An unforgettable experience. I feel safe at yucca and it gives a cheers vibe cause the bartenders are funny sweet and caring . Cant say enough about how much I love this spot.

Fred L.

Yelp
The nachos were great. Drinks were good. Pinball was fun. They had live music there as well on Saturday night. Service was great.
google avatar

Howard L.

Yelp
This place is definitely a one of a kind establishment. Great way for a great time or if you have friends that would rather stay sober too while having cheap fun too. Pinball machines vary from 50 cents to a dollar, most of them are working and they feature tons of machines for endless entertainment.
google avatar

Gian C.

Yelp
TLDR: Great dive bar pit stop for some drinks. 14 dollars for an IPA and a margarita. Did not experience the live music, but they have it. We came in at 7 pm, so granted it was not very busy, but the bartender was friendly, funny and attentive. Got our beer and margarita and some waters, enjoyed the calm vibe of the dive bar, with its rock music and dark lighting, and overall, I felt happy with my experience here. Will have to come back to hear the live music.

Yelp
security holds grudges, buddy of mine was in a previous altercation with security over some racial comments thrown his way a few months back, went tonight for my birthday and right away secuirty was hostile to my friend, right out the bat, "i Remember you, none of that shit tonight" me and my friend move past it and try to enjoy the night. we go out to smoke after one of the cover bands and when coming in we get told "he (my friend) struggled to get his jacket on, you guys are done for the night" there was a dude and a chick during one of the cover bands that got into a fistfight, he was taken outside and allowed back in after a few minutes. security was Looking for any reason to kick my buddy out and for some reason I had to be included, we were spending money and not being an issue, I will never go back
google avatar

R B.

Yelp
I enjoyed my friends' bands last night but you can shove your SEVEN DOLLAR PBR up your a$$. I used to come here a lot, now I barely have an incentive. Bye frickin' bye. I hope your pinballs rot.

Frye T.

Yelp
New menu/chef is fantastic. Delicious and unique. Great service. Fun old bar. Lots of beer selection.

Yelp
It's a great venue I do have a complaint for the open mic and how it's ran however. Starts at 830 for sign up--which is literally a name tossed in a hat, they draw those names for you to go actually sign up in a slot time, low and behold the first two to three spots are already filled in. Show starts at 9 where a full band that's friends with the host get to jam, basically a show for them. Then the host gets to play--thennnnn now that we're about an hour and half into this night (given that you came at 830 for sign up) the first "randomly drawn performer" gets to start everything off and ofcourse the host is friends with them and they jam together---almost as if this was planned and they practiced for it. So now that I've brought my friends and they've been waiting almost 2 hours we can actually get to the acts. It's just a bit of a discouraging set up. It's definitely a way to get hard working musicians to just not come anymore. Such as myself.

Andrew J.

Yelp
Good food. Mighty beer selection if that's your thing. Live music- which you definitely need more of in your life. Great service paired with a dingey dirt ball charm. I love this place
google avatar

Wendy V.

Yelp
Yucca is a landmark in Tempe. It's a local favorite for those of us that have been going there since Karaoke nights some 26 years ago. It's a hotspot now for live music and open mic nights! Great bands come through here.
google avatar

Ken A.

Yelp
I don't really drink, I just play games next door. However you have to go through this building to get to that building. Door guy is always nice to me compared to some of these other reviews, so I am gonna go ahead and slap those 5 stars just for that. Oh yeah and I go here once a week and nobody has bucked my car, so at least there is that.
google avatar

Karla W.

Yelp
The door man was extremely rude. It is fine to require proof of vaccine, but it is not necessary to be a d ick about it, was really uncalled for. Other than that the venue is as you would expect for a hole in the wall for local bands to play live music in Tempe.

Ryan O.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years with zero problem. My bf and I have always loved the pinball games and the staff :) then tonight, for no reason, we both got removed from the bar. Mind you, we'd only just arrived, we were making no ruckus, just chilling on our own, and a "security" member removes us both. Four times we asked why, only to be told "that's the way it is." Unreal. If you're scared of gay couples, say it. If we're doing something wrong, say it. We still don't know why we've been kicked from our favorite hangout spot. However, now we're now a perfectly happy to avoid it. thanks the memories yucca :')

Yelp
BOUNCER CRIMINAL ATTACK Avoid this bar. Bouncers pick fights with customers! Since 2015, I have been going to Yucca Tap Room after work. I am a bartender and the first time I came in I got an industry discount and excellent service. My favorite bartender has always been Casey, but he reduced his hours and now with COVID I have lost him. Sean and La were his replacements and they did a wonderful job. Then COVID struck... Fast-forward to two Fridays ago, July 30th. I return to Yucca after COVID for the first time and bring a friend out late after moving into his new house nearby. We're sitting at a table after having a couple of Grey Goose's and now a beer each to close our night. He's 60yo and I am 53yo. We are sitting at a side table quietly sipping the beers we just got. We are barely noticeable and causing no issues. I notice a bouncer gesturing from the bar to drink-up. Odd, I just got the drinks (it's 2:00am Saturday). I nod, but realize I have until 2:30am to drink-up every time I have come to Yucca. At 2:13am, that same bald bouncer comes over and says you have to drink-up we are closing. Huh? I state, "We have until 2:30am to drink-up usually?" The bouncer becomes infuriated and aggressive. Grabs both our drinks and says, "Well I guess you're done now right! Get out!" I say, "That's not fair we have until 2:30am by AZ law [A.R.S. 4-244(15)(17)]. He proceeds to shove me and my guest to the door trying to pick a fight with us, saying, "Go ahead take a swing at me I dare you!" He went from zero to full out assault and battery in seconds. By the door a new bald bouncer joins in picking a fight and proceeds to follow us across the parking lot yelling, "Come on man fight me! Pussy!!" I waited two weeks to calm down from this assault and battery. My friend, a lawyer, wanted me to call the Tempe Police and report the incident. I want ALL my money back for being assaulted and battered by this criminal in your employment including the 10% tip you tacked on my bill without my consent ($37.00 total bill). I was never given a bill and because I was pushed out so fast never had a chance to sign one. A tip for being assaulted and battered??You're hiring angry criminals for bouncers and I refuse to endanger my safety and the safety of my guests by returning to your business. In what world is it acceptable for two twenty something criminal boys employed by a business to assault and batter two men thirty to forty years older than them? You lost a six year regular and a guaranteed new customer that Friday night. Clearly, something is very wrong at Yucca Tap Room.

Yelp
This has been my favorite bar in the entire valley for years now. I have always had a great drink here but then again I'm not bougie so it's hard to fuck up a vodka, cranberry. I love the atmosphere, the bands that come through, and the local life that frequents this establishment. I must say the food and the pinball is poppin. Whenever I feel down I know a drink and a few games will cheer me right up. Sometimes I simply go for the people watching. I love this place.

Jerrod K.

Yelp
Cool place, and it's somehow only gotten better over the years. It's big, with a bar (that has pretty incredible food, like tater tots and tacos and sandwiches and salads, AND amazing beer taps with a rotating selection), another bar with a little stage for live music, and like two or three rooms full of fun pinball games. It's very easy to eat too much and enjoy too much beer and spend way too much on pinball.

Yelp
THE SINGLE WORST BAR EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! I went to Yucca Tap to support a friend of mine who was performing with his band. I bought my ticket ahead of time online and went to attend the show with my Cousin and his Girlfriends family. As I went up to talk to the front they were unfriendly and seemed annoyed to be/work there. I said hello and they went straight for asking for my ID. Now, I know I have a rather young looking face but I am 25 years old. My wallet was stolen 2 days before the concert but I had my LEGAL Mobile Arizona MID. When I explained what my situation was the gentleman in charge of the stand said "We don't accept that. Nothing we can do it's our policy. Have a good night". Unfortunate that the facility has that policy but I can understand a place has rules. My cousin came outside to see what was taking so long and I explained to him "I don't think they will let me in because I lost my wallet the other day" Interrupting our conversation the gentleman at the stand said "Nope, not THINK we WON'T, leave and have a goodnight". Now I understand people want to make fake ID's and sneak in but I'm of age, I have Legal proof of it, I already paid, and I DONT DRINK. Seemed strange to be this hostile with me as I'm trying to conduct myself and be professional. My cousin mentioned if I can't come in I should get my money back (which is a fair point even tho it was just $10). I waited in line again and approached the gentleman upfront who was VERY annoyed to see me. I said "Hey I don't know if there is anything you can do to help but..." and before I could finish he interrupted again more aggressive this time and said "NO, CAN'T HELP LEAVE" and before I could explain the situation one of the security guards next to him started swearing at me and trying to get confrontational "DIDNT YOU F**** HEARD HIM?! GET THE F**** OUTTA HERE!". I told the security guard firmly but professionally "You do not need to talk to me like that", and that was enough to set everything off. The guy at the stand said he was calling the police if I don't leave and the security guard the tried to push me and get in my face screaming "I can talk to you however the F**** I want. I didn't touch him but stating this security guard was half my size I also didn't let him push me. Another security guard approached and shined a light in my face and started screaming at me to move. I again having done nothing wrong stood my ground and very calmly explained "I just want to talk about getting my money back" "I'm willing to wait on the street (since the whole line was on the sidewalk) but I'm JUST asking a question". The first security guard kept screaming, swearing, and pushing me and I told him firm but clear "Please don't touch me". I walked over to the street and a gentleman walks forward seeming to be a lead or manager of sorts. He tells me that he already called the police. I told home "that's fine, I have no problem with ANYONE one her your security was unnecessarily getting combative even though..." and he Interrupts me with "You don't have ID so you have to go" I explained I do have ID but it's a mobile ID since my wallet was stolen "He again interrupts me with "WE DONT ACCEPT THAT" so I tell him "I understand that and it's 100% fine, I was just asking who can help me with a refund" and the aggressive security guard said "GET IT FROM THE F***** BAND". I again told him " You do NOT need to talk to me that way." The lead then request to see my ID and asks the the security to grab $10 from the front. I show him my ID and say thank you. You takes a picture hands me $10 and says "You ever step foot in our bar again we will throw you the F**** out!" I have lived in Arizona my whole life, this was my first experience with this bar and I NEVER EVEN SAW THE INSIDE OF THE PLACE. Their security need to be trained in de-escalation because (again) I am a 25 year old, PAYING CUSTOMER. I'm easily know as the most patient and level headed person in both my professional and casual settings. If I was treated this way (SOBER AND CALM), I can't imagine how they treat other customers. The single WORST bar experience I have ever had. If you ever thought about visiting DO GO there are PLENTY of bars in Tempe.

Yelp
It bums me out immensely to leave a 1 star review as of my most recent visit And I will elaborate why. ive been performing in different bands at yucca since I was 18, I celebrated my 21st birthday at yucca. I've showed up at 6am countless times, played dozens and dozens of shows, and have many beautiful memories. rodney has always done a great job running the place. but my experience today 4/5/21 just before 7pm, lounge side was Beyond disheartening. i Showed up on my bicycle to order food to go. There were 3 peope in the entire room sitting at the bar (occupancy limit approximately 150). I set my bike out of the walk way, far from any customers and tell the bartender, "hi, I don't have my lock, I'd just like to order a beer and food to go and Ill wait outside." She replies coldly and standofflushly " you can't have your bike in here"i replied "did you hear what I just requested?" she says again " you can't have your bike in here" and with that instantly turned around and left. if the bar was busy and my bike was blocking a walk way and I was planning on staying i Would understand entirely, but not allowing me to look at a menu, place an order, pay and tip then wait outside. could've been done in less than 2 minutes Is inexcusable. instead the barkeep felt the need to exert authority And use her critical thinking skills to be nasty and entirely unreasonable, doing so losing a patron from the neighborhood for over 15 years. ive bartended for over 8 years and have worked as a bar manager, if that was my employee I would have a sit down and perhaps a training course on How to talk to custoners. especially considering it's a position where the bulk of the income is from gratuity. it was the first time I went to a bar since lockdown. Bummed.

Yelp
Always love coming here. No matter if it's to see a band or just to eat. Only complaint is the womens bathroom in Bao Chow, smells like poop.....always

Yelp
Rodney has made Yucca a great neighborhood place to come for beer and music! I recommend following them on FB and their website for all upcoming acts. Almost every night of the week there's live music. Constant rotating taps from local/regional breweries to keep a beer snob like myself intrigued. A beer-bartender, Casey, who knows beer like the back of his own hand. Seriously, pull up to the bar when he's working and he's got stories and flavor profiles for everything available and something as a backup if a tap runs out. And for those who don't care much for fancy beer, they have PBR, Bud, etc. Either selection (craft or not) won't burn a hole in your wallet. The food addition of Bao Box has upped the food game to Yucca- totally delicious-but-not-fancy bento meal for less than $10. Wings can be a little spicy, but luckily you can get some ranch for dipping.

Yelp
A great, quiet & friendly atmosphere. Most people here are locals but the vibe and decor really give it a relaxed feel. Sweet bartenders & good music. Definitely recommend! Also the oldest bar in Tempe so there's a bit of historic feel.

Yelp
Yucca Tap Room exists in a time warp and I love that fact! I first remember visiting Yucca in the late 90's to see the Refreshments play a set and liked it back then. I failed to return to it for nearly 20 years, but when I did, I was returning to a moment in time that had already happened. There's still a stage for live music. There's still the locals hanging out at the dimly lit bar chatting up their drinking buddies. There's still the cheap drinks and beers! There's still the wood paneling that most every bar no longer cares to have adorn their walls, but Yucca is different! Yucca has changed....a little...They have added another large room and serve an excellent selection of standard and craft beers and they have a fantastic pin ball arcade in their other new additional room with a few old school and foreign video games. Oh...and they added a patio area in the parking lot for added seating when the weather is nice! Visit Yucca because it's a dive bar or because it's got a great beer selection or because you want cheap drinks. Just visit it! *Tip 1* Grab a Coors Light draft and head over to the arcade to play some Hockey. It's like foosball, but I think even more fun. Most of the arcade games have cup holders or you can grab one of the tall drink tables to hold your drink while you play **Tip 2** Drink! Drink anything you want. Their drinks are cheap!

Yelp
Wow , great cool chill place ! It's a small place with just enough area for a decent stage , merch and a SRO area. No drama , no BS and only one patron that had a bit too much to drink(you know, the guy that drinks so much he has to take his shirt off..yeah that guy) ....it looked like he was irritating the band. Security promptly took care of it . It's so great to go to a place where no one has attitude . I noticed that a lot of shows don't have a cover . The show I went to was a staggering $10...for 5 great bands . If you're looking for great place for local and national acts this could be it . No pretentiousness , just great music . Just as a side note even with earplugs it was THUNDEROUS ! If I remember PBR was $2.50 . Tons of beer selections . Lots of parking . Security everywhere ..and couldn't be nicer . Update - I've been here a bunch of times now . Amanda and Ren are great . I finally went to the other side where you can eat . Tons of beers to choose from , taco Tuesday deals and Wednesday wings deals . The wings are out of bounds good and the "hot" is actually hot ! Great food while catching killer music - seriously , what else is there ?!

Yelp
Serves food until 2AM! Saturday specials: $4 red headed slut shots... I think we are tempted. Too bad we didn't see the 3rd red head who walked by us as we all agreed to take it on the 3rd one that walks by. :( I've been eyeing this place for the longest time since I've been seeing my two friends from Arizona checking into this place. Finally got to try it out and.... I only liked the drinks, atmosphere and the pool table. Totally did NOT like the food that night. On their menu, there is a bar snacks and entree section. I decided to eat something small since I know I cannot finish a burger or a taco by myself, so I got the chicken and beef kabobs. Some of you should know how a kabobs look like right? If you don't, they look like this http://yieatn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/kabobs-719954.jpg and what yucca gave me was only meat and no veggies. Disappointed...I wished they at least listed on the menu somewhere 'just meat' When I got the kabobs, my chicken tasted fine, but my beef tasted like it got dipped into salt at least 5x... Ugh. I hope the food only tasted that yucks because of not having enough people in the kitchen. I mean... if you're going to serve bar snacks, it shouldn't take 40-50 mins. Gah.... Pool table entertained us the most throughout the night. $1 quarters a game. Plus there's a live band in the other room if you're interested in listening. By the way, there's also another bar in the same room where the band places but only a couple of tables to sit down. maybe it's a bad night that we went...I guess we'll have to find out the next time I visit! Until then...this place was OKAY.

Yelp
This is an amazing venue to come get a drink, play some pinball, and listen to some live music in the valley. It is certainly not a "hipster" vibe in this place and will be a great place to just get a good drink at the end of a long day with a friend or two.
