"If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of Japan’s traditional pubs (izakayas), you’ll be pleasantly surprised by Yugo, which replicates the feel of this typical aspect of Japanese daily life. The impeccable setting, featuring spaces with two distinct ambiences plus a sushi bar with a profusion of wood and decorative masks and flags, provides the backdrop for cuisine prepared to the minutest detail by Julián Mármol, who skilfully combines Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine while respecting the subtlety of the Far East. Everything stems from his use of the finest ingredients, resulting in a succession of taste sensations. The room in the basement, available for the exclusive use of club members, is known as “The Bunker”, the design of which is based on a WW2 bunker and is used by guests when the main dining room is full. The cooking here is based exclusively around two gastronomic menus: Clásicos del Bunker and Evolución." - Michelin Inspector

Google
Pretty average experience. I don’t understand their ranking. Food was correct but not relevant and service was definitely not premium. This was my boyfriend’s birthday gift so it was a very special occasion. When we arrived the “greeting” was overall confusion and kind of shaming about the reservation specifications and the menu chosen. The attitude of the person who I believe was even the manager was not acceptable for a Michelin restaurant. And after 2 evolution menus with wine pairing there was a bill to be paid of 18€ of water.

Yugo The Bunker is an absolutely breathtaking culinary experience. From the moment you step inside, you can feel the passion and dedication that goes into every detail—especially the food. Each dish is a masterpiece, bursting with flavor, creativity, and precision. The attention to detail and the harmony of textures and flavors make for an unforgettable dining experience. Every bite tells a story, showcasing the highest quality ingredients and the chef’s deep respect for Japanese cuisine. The atmosphere only elevates the experience, transporting you into a world where tradition meets innovation. I would return in a heartbeat whenever I’m in Madrid again. If you’re looking for an extraordinary gastronomic journey, Yugo The Bunker is an absolute must.

“Warning: You might leave this bunker happily defeated!” I went to Yugo The Bunker with high expectations — and let me tell you, they were not only met, they were fed, overfed, and then rolled out the door! 😅 The food was absolutely excellent — every bite felt like a secret mission of flavor. The explanations from the staff were great too; they really knew what they were talking about (and what they were feeding me). The service? Spot on. Friendly, professional, and just the right mix of class and humor. The only “problem”? There was so much food. Like, “I might need a nap bunker” kind of food. But honestly, I’m not complaining — it’s just my stomach that’s still negotiating peace talks today. If you’re in Madrid and ready for a serious culinary operation, this is your place. Just… maybe skip lunch before you go. 😉

We had the 170 tasting menu, and everything was absolutely amazing. The food was exquisite, the service impeccable, and the overall experience unforgettable. Highly recommend Yugo The Bunker for a truly unique dining adventure!

Google
Excellent food and amazing atmosphere. Especially the different salmon sashimi variations blew my mind. There is no phone reception in the cellar which lets you focus entirely on the food (WiFi is available if needed). Service could be a bit more refined for a 1 star Michelin restaurant.

Very good choice when it is hot outside. Degustation menu is full of different flavours, there is also something cold, something raw, something sweet, sour. Everything was extremely delicious. If you like matcha, the dessert will blow your mind. The staff is really nice and helpfull with a lot to say about every dish. We will definitely come back!

Read previous reviews before and I did have mediocre expectations. Food was amazing. What was equally great the gentlemen who served our food and drinks. They were super nice. Well done chef Julián Mármol. Michelin star is deserved. Strongly suggested.

Google
One of the best Japanese restaurants I have been to, so far... The gastronomic menu doesn’t have any false note. The 12 dishes are not too big and each of them is very well balanced between the tastes of its ingredients. Also the staff is very nice and is able to explain very specifically how everything is made from the selection of the products to the temperature of cooking. As said in other comments, dessert is the weakest part of the place, but it is still very acceptable Highly recommended !!
