"Three generations spanning five decades have kept this restaurant in business since its opening in 1962. At the time, their iconic crispy thin-sliced bulgogi, grilled over open flames, was all that was offered on the menu. The dish became so popular that the name bassak bulgogi was patented. Today, the restaurant stands four stories high, still serving the same dish that has fed generations. Their coagulated beef blood soup with a clear broth is another stunner." - Michelin Inspector
I could admit why and how this place was over 100 years old. The food was amazing and the servers were all nice. However the person who works at the counter is the reason why I cannot give the five stars. When you ask the parking place, just expect this answer: You need to park by your own ability “손님 능력으로 주차해야 해요“.

Had the Baasak Bulgogi Meal, beef soup and the Bibimbap. I would skip the bibimbap as it tasted regular bibimbap. Would definitely recommend the Baasak Bulgogi. Pls note that visitors need to order 1 individual order each (but this seemed to be a regular occurrence around Seoul). Wanted to try the spicy octopus and the tartare but it was our first day in Seoul and we didn’t want an upset stomach ruining our trip. Definitely next time!

Having heard of its multiple Michellin accolades and one of the Hollywood celebrities came here, I decided to visit.
While the food was undoubtedly well-crafted, the experience, though pleasant, lacked the wow factor I had anticipated.

The place wasn’t so busy during lunchtime on a Friday. Was seated right away and sides were served right away. We ordered the bulgogi, beef tartare bibimbap, octopus bibimbap. They have solo sets or dishes for sharing (good if there’s a lot of you). Their bibimbap wasn’t as spicy as I expected it to be, would like it more if it was a bit more tasty and spicy.. They are known for their thin sliced bulgogi so it is a must-try. Felt like I was eating homemade hearty dishes. Would dine here again!
Oh and random fact: Tom Cruise visited here when he went to Seoul!

Went for lunch. Had the Crispy Bulgogi and it was delicious. Cold but good. Staff was nice and had English menu.

This place has made Michelin guide multiple times and also Tom Cruise visited the restaurant when he was in Korea for the top gun premier. Anywho the food is fantastic. They have several sets which are quite pricey but I suggest ordering ala carte. If you order ala carte you still get all the banchan so I suggest that unless you’re super hungry then maybe get a set. Overall highly recommend.

This is my favourite bulgogi in the world! Family run style restaurant with recipe from Grandma. The bulgogi is so soft and tender. I like the raw beef but it did leave my weak stomach some problems after.
We ordered the set menu and I think it was too greedy. Avoid over eating to appreciate the delicious taste!
Service is friendly. I always must come back to this place!!! Plain awesome
