The 9 Best Boba Shops In Houston - Houston - The Infatuation

"Yumcha feels like the sort of boba tea shop you’d see in a coming-of-age movie. It serves as an informal study hall for high school students to work through chemistry problems while sipping a brown sugar milk tea with tapioca pearls. For the summer, get a sparkling seltzer flavored like pineapple, guava, or whatever tropical fruit is in rotation and grab a container of macarons or a pastry from the display case if you plan on studying (or pretending to study)." - gianni greene

this place is cute. the boba didn’t taste the best. i ordered a honeydew milk tea with black boba and it wasn’t the best. i honestly have never tasted honey dew that way. it was a very acquire taste. my son ordered the wintermelon fruit tea with black boba and he said it was pretty good. you can’t go wrong with wintermelon. the facility is clean and in a clear location. you do have to find street parking. there are meters right in front. they have a cute set up to sit in and relax. the person who was working on the day i went seemed very miserable. you could tell she didn’t really want to be there. free her or up her pay. do something to help her have a more pleasant experience there. i’m sure it’ll bring in more business. i walked in and she was sitting down tucked away. i didn’t even notice her until she said hi after i was in the store for about 2 mins. i’m not sure if taking pictures of the place was making her feel uncomfortable but whatever it is i hope she feels better. both of our bobas came out to $14 which wasn’t bad. i also purchased macaroons. they were just okay.

Google
cute place, but the boba was a bit too chewy (and not warm). the actual tea was fine—what you would get from an average boba place.

The drinks and the atmosphere were good, but the service was truly terrible. The girl who served us today, Sunday, March 23rd, at 3pm, treated us in a hostile and not at all friendly manner. They should explain to her that customers should be treated cordially. Because of that experience, I will not shop there again.

Google
Good quality Milk Tea,Tea and Slush. The kiosk order was easy to follow and made to order. The quality of tapioca bubbles was chewier, but not rubbery and doesn't stick to the bottom of the glass. They have 4 levels of Sugar content and don't charge for reduced sugar levels, unlike other Bubble tea places that we have tried. Also nominally priced

If you love Boba, then stop here. The variety is wonderful, I like using the kiosk to place my order, I didn't feel rushed to make a decision, and all my options were available during the order process, on the screen.

Oh, I loved the atmosphere, played board game with my friends. But not the best boba. Service wasn’t good. The person who served us was very rude.

Google
I come here very often and it’s my go too boba tea shop in waltham. I enjoy their fruit teas and yakult drinks.

Google
It was a nice boba tea shop with great selections! And while you're waiting for your order, there's a spot for you to sit or play games like Jenga and Uno. Would recommend a stop!

Yelp
The milk teas are bland AF. They are so expensive for watered down drinks. Also their options for sugar level is limited to only 50% or no sugar, really? However, their sweets are good. I got the Dubai pie and the Lotus Biscuit cake and they looked really good and looked extremely sweet. To my surprise both were not overly sweet. I am a fan of Biscoff and the cake was moist creamy and very lovely. The Dubai pie is a spin on the viral pistachio chocolate bar and it was a chocolate mouse with ganache and a mix of coconut flakes and crush pistachio. If you eat all the layers at once it's tasty. If you just eat the coconut flakes and pistachio on its own it's dry.

Yelp
A good place in Waltham to satisfy your bubble tea craving, but nothing special. I ordered from their kiosk and got the oolong milk tea with boba during my most recent visit. The boba was soft and chewy, but the milk tea was more on the milky side rather than tea taste. They have a cute cat mural with boba and a few tables if you want to dine in. The service was quick since I came during an afternoon when the store was empty. Overall, I would return if I'm in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way to come here again.

Yelp
Got a massage next door and decided to give this place a try. Ordered an oolong milk tea with boba and was not a fan. The oolong tea flavor was almost non existent and the drink tasted mostly like condensed milk mixed with water. The boba was also too hard and chewy for my personal preference . Will not be back. Aiyaaa.

Yelp
Came here one night after dinner with my cousin and his fiancée craving some boba tea. The kiosks when you arrive make it easy to order and select to customize your tea. We also saw they had macaroons for sale which we loved so of course we had to get some of those too. Being able to order at the kiosk and customize was great I am slightly dairy intolerant, so to be able to see all the nondairy options and flavors was great. We got her tea and macaroons and played Jenga at one of the tables. I can't tell you how many times I've walked by this place, and never went in if you're walking by this place pop and grab yourself some Boba tea and bring a friend to hang out and play some board games with.

Yelp
4.5 stars for a new bubble tea place in Waltham! I was driving by when I noticed YumCha's storefront and literally turned the car around to try it out. It's a small cafe that's been about for 2 months, with cute, clean decor and a good selection of drinks and toppings. I am pretty basic with my boba orders and also don't drink milk, so was happy to see plenty of dairy free options. The honey green tea was quite tasty, with the tea brewed just right and a good balance with 50% sugar. The bubbles are a bit softer than my personal preference, but they're still nicely chewy. You'll pay a bit more here than at Kung Fu Tea, but I'd rather support a locally-owned small business with nice staff. Next time I'll try the passion fruit jelly (even comes as popping boba!) and sit down to play some of the games they have. Plus, they have drink punch cards. I can't resist a punch card...

Yelp
I came here once and I'm hooked on the passion fruit boba! The speed and customer service of YumCha is cool, however it's the passion fruit boba that is above and beyond! The owner also gave me an extra cup as she made extra and didn't want it to go to waste. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Got 3 drinks, tasted good. The girls were nice and friendly. The ambiance was high energy.

Yelp
Love it here. My favorite spot around. They have a cheese foam tea that is amazing. As I always tell everyone I know don't waste your time going anywhere else. Best staff and cleanest spot around. Try it out. You will not regret it.

Yelp
By far the best bubble tea place. I have probably tried majority of bubble tea places in Boston area. Try Mango, Passionfruit, or Strawberry smoothies with any popping bobas. They are just so good!!!

Clem C.

Yelp
My new favorite boba store. There tea and boba are both amazing. My favorite is the taro tea with strawberry popping boba.

Aly B.

Yelp
The drinks are pretty expensive compared to other boba tea places which is why I took one star off. The drinks are delicious (I can't speak on the service and ambiance because I usually get the drinks delivered via door dash). My favorite drinks are taro and brown sugar.

Yelp
I am so happy that a great boba place came to Waltham. I just moved here after college and I'm so glad I don't need to drive into Boston for good boba. The milk tea is really flavorful and it is not too sweet like other places. The tapioca bubbles are the perfect consistency. I came in late,15 minutes before closing, and they were still really welcoming and let me know what they ran out of before ordering. They answered all my questions I had while ordering on the touchpad to confirm that things were still available and if I was ordering the right thing. I hope this place stays in Waltham! My new go-to-spot!

Yelp
We ordered our drinks with postmates near the end of our meal at a nearby restaurant (Mulan), and the boba drinks were ready when we walked into YumCha! I got a grapefruit green tea with soft, chewy tapioca pearls and mango jelly. I thought the 50% sugar was a little sweet but not too sweet after mixing. Great local boba shop to visit in Waltham!

Yelp
This is by far my favorite boba shop that I have ever been to. I've tried all the boba shops in Boston and none of them compare to Yumcha. The bubble teas are impeccable and high quality. The workers there are so nice and the service is very efficient. The environment is also clean and welcoming. I highly recommend if you're reading this! Definitely coming again!!!

Yelp
Tea tastes amazing! It's not watered down at all and it's the best tea I've had. My go-to boba shop. I go out of my way to go to Yum-Cha. Many topping and flavor options. Staff is sweet and friendly. Inside it's very cute and comfortable. They have a cute mural and comfortable seating. I love Yum-Cha.

Hanna C.

Yelp
Moody has a hotspot for bubble tea, but not to far from moody is yumcha. When first walking in there is a cute cat portrait painted on the wall. The seating area adds a nice touch to the store. The tea quality is really good, the tea is not watered down.
