Japanese Burger Spot Brings Slathered Wagyu Beef Patties and Karaage Sandwiches to OC | Eater LA

"Started in May 2021 in Ojai by former tennis coach-turned-cook Takeshi Ozaki and his wife Chikage, this original burger cafe drew attention when its sandwiches and burgers impressed a group of vacationing friends; Carl Tong, in particular, was sold after trying the karaage chicken sandwich. The spot established the Ozakis’ approach of Japanese-influenced burgers and chicken sandwiches that later informed the pared-down menu and concept for Ojai Burger." - Anne Marie Panoringan

One of the Best New Austin Cookbooks Is ‘The Peached Tortilla’ | Eater Austin

"I remember Silverstein’s way-back-when truck Yume Burger being cited in the book; its Japanese-American hot dog and tempura catfish burger are among the food-truck-era items included in the cookbook and restaurant repertoire." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
I ordered the Signature Yume Burger, the Grilled Chicken Salad, and the Peach Mango Smoothie. Since the hamburger originated in the U.S., eating one here naturally feels different in terms of taste, portion size, and presentation. American burgers are overwhelmingly better in flavor, but the Yume Burger, with its teriyaki sauce, was still enjoyable. That said, it’s more of a “try-once” experience, and I don’t see a reason to go back for a Japanese-style burger again. Prices are on the expensive side.

A Japanese burger dream 🍔 🇯🇵 I’d been craving karaage for weeks, and after spotting Yume’s menu months ago, I couldn’t wait to try it. It did not disappoint. If you love burgers or Japanese fast food, this place is for you. The patty was buttery smooth, the chicken perfectly crispy, and the sauce had just the right tang—everything just worked. The regular fries felt out of place, but the okonomi fries instantly took me back to my time in Osaka. The ambience? On point. With vintage Japanese posters covering the walls, this spot made me miss Japan a little less.

Google
I saw the place on google and it seemed unique compared to others and the only "Japanese" burgers in the area. I ordered the Ojai burger which was their recommended pick for me as a first timer. It came with a side of fries and I also ordered a boba thai tea. The burger was okay......smaller than I expected. The waygu patty was very tender, soft, & juicy. Flavor of patty was okay. Also had some mushrooms & pan fried onions? And some sauces. One of the sauces were kewpie i believe? The hamburger buns could be better(small/low quality. The fries that came with it were just normal fries but they do have some japanese inspired fries you can order. Overall it was okay....its basically a japanese burger place thats americanized. Not sure if I would go again. If I do, I'll definitely order something else. 5/10 meal. But I do like the backseating area and the wall of anime posters.

Google
I tried shaved ice that tasted almost like bingsu. (Mango and strawberry) nice one. They have the back area to sit. The interior is Japanese anime fun. I didn’t tried the burger but I think it might be good. Young vibe.

Walking past the tiny shop but the pictures in the shop looked appetizing. Friendly service and helpful recommendation. Enjoyed the Topa Topa Chicken Sandwich.

I’ve had this place bookmarked for some time now, but it was always busy when I tried to dine here. I finally managed to catch them on a day where it was less busy. Yay! There’s not much to this restaurant ambience wise. It’s pretty small inside, with a couple booths in the front with window views. There’s more seating located in the back, as well as a restroom. For food, I ordered their Ojai Wagyu cheeseburger. It comes with fries too. Their Wagyu beef is marinated for 24 hours before serving it. Making this burger a melt in your mouth experience! Unfortunately, after my first bite, it fell apart. No matter how much I tried putting the meat back inside the bun; it just kept falling apart. I had to use my fingers to scoop up the meat and finish eating. Messy good though! I would have preferred that my burger stay in tact to enjoy it more, but nonetheless it was a very flavorful juicy burger. The fries were thin, lightly salted and fried. Nothing much to them, but they were decent. Overall, I’m glad I could finally try this place. I would love to come back to try their chicken sandwich and a few other items on the menu.

Google
Beware of the service charge, they slap 12% onto every order as an automatic tip, even on take out. They were hesitant to remove it when I asked. Got the double chicken sandwich and it was alright but I wouldn’t order it again. I would recommend the single if I were to order again.

Google
Everything we had was absolutely amazing. One of the staff (maybe the owner) was super nice to my dog and gave him a treat. We ordered inside and sat outside on the large patio. Pet friendly. Don't skip this place if you’re in Ojai. I recommend the spicy miso chicken sandwich and the wagyu cheese fries. 10/10. Great vibes and great food.

Yelp
EVERYTHING is so tasty! So delicious They're quick, friendly etc. The ambience is small in the front but you'll be surprised when you walk to the back. Back seating and back patio. Overall, great place to go to, especially after a round of golf.

Yelp
Nice staff and the outdoor seating in the back of the restaurant is cozy. Instead of putting the rice in the waffle machine, I find the traditional pan fried/skillet style rice bun to be more crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The waffle style dried out the rice and made it hard and chewy. The beef and egg were fine, but a tomato or pickles would've elevated the burger better. Fries were fresh, no complaints there. If you need a casual fast food style lunch, this is your place.

Yelp
We visite Yume Japanese Burger on our trip to Ojai. This seemed like a promising place, pretty good review on Yelp and such a unique fusion. We were expecting Japanese flavor in American aesthetic type of food... and Yume were almost there! The place is quite unassuming, it has a small storefront with 2 booths on the front. But, like other Yelpers on the page suggested, there are some unique decors and plenty more seatings if you walk toward the back of the restaurant. We ordered 2 wagyu beef combo and added a fried chicken (forgot what they called it on the menu), but it was advertised on the wall. We almost sat in the front but were so glad to changed our mind and moved to the back where we were met with so many amazing Japanese posters/magazine covers literally covering the wall. It isn't the Ojai I imagined, and it's pretty cool that this place exist in Ojai! It wasn't busy when we placed our order but there were other patrons that was already seated and enjoying their food out in the back patio. We took some pictures while we waited for the food to come to our table. The food's aesthetic were definitely American. The burger was placed in a paper wrap and you can see what's in it: Tomato, onion, wagyu burger, and lettuce. My husband had the cheeseburger so his came with a cheese. But after looking at it, I was a bit disappointed in the presentation. It seemed like a dinner burger looked better than what we were receiving, I failed to see the fusion in this wagyu burger. The flavor was okay, it was not as great as I expected when I took that first bite. Since we ordered a combo, it also came with french fries, and it was not the best fries. It was soggy and not crunchy/crisp at all. It was just a bad batch of fries. What took us by surprise were the fried chicken! It was not only cooked nicely and crisply, it had a nice ginger like taste to it, even without any dipping sauce, the flavor was there! It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. So the perfectly made chicken made me wonder, what happened to the fries even more. Anyways, it is a cool place to have in Ojai, very unique in a small town USA and while it has really awesome interior design, the food could be improved. A tad disappointed in the wagyu burger as it tasted and looked like any other burger that you could find in the US. I was really looking forward for that special Japanese twist or something when I ate the burger. Well, little did I know that the Japanese twist came in that fried chicken flavor.

Yelp
The food is pretty good here, but I'm somewhat disappointed in my experience just because I had such high expectations from the yelp reviews and the always long line out the door. When you walk in, it's a small, narrow walkway to the cashier with the menus on the wall next to you. We ordered the chicken dippers, a burger with rice bun, and a chicken sandwich. The sandwich and burger came with free fries! It is a bit on the pricier side, and they add a 12% service charge on top of the bill already before asking for more tip when you order. After ordering, you look for a place to sit, which is quite difficult. There's two tables towards the front and about five tables in the back of the restaurant. They were taken so we went outside where there were a few more tables. I didn't really like sitting outside but I guess it was nice to be outdoors in nature; just a little cold and windy on the day I went. The indoors seemed a little stuffy. It took about 40 minutes for our food to arrive... Someone brings it out to you and asks if you need anything but when I asked for an extra tray, it never came lol. Maybe they were busy but idk. Overall, the food is pretty good and unique. I'm glad I tried it. Just wish the experience felt a little more elevated like most of the other restaurants here in Ojai.

Yelp
I honestly went here based on the yelp reviews but I guess nothing is perfect. We arrived for lunch on president's day and the place was packed. The flavor of the food is there, the problem is, it's too much. We shared the Spicy Miso and the Ojai Wagyu and for both of them, you could taste nothing but the sauce. For using "wagyu" quality meat, you definitely cannot taste it. I would describe the flavors as cloying. I might be convinved to give the karage sandwiches a try but skip the burgers here. The fries were similarly lacking. We upgraded to truffle and garlic parmesan for our respective orders. Seasoning was shaken on and immediately fell off and was similarly lacking in quality, no truffle oil, just out of a can dusting was my impression. Service was nice, and the hostess was very personable. However, we purchased drinks (which the selection was great and we enjoyed our bottled beverages) that we finished before the food came almost 30 minutes later. For 2 burgers and fries....that's awhile. Ambiance: The back patio was nice and opened up to a walking path but I do not recommend sitting inside as you will be overwhelmed with noise and crushed by the line going out the door waiting to place their orders. Again, maybe I'm the odd one out. With so many other options in town, I would pass on Yume or at least the burgers. Maybe it was due to a holiday weekend rush? I want to like this place as it is cute, clean, and friendly staff. But my premium priced meal just didn't live up to it.

Yelp
5 stars for ambiance, 4 for food. They have a really interesting set of dishes but it's somewhat chaotic. I felt like there were 4 different menus. The loaded fries are a must order. I've never been a big fan of poutine, but I would if this how they were prepared. Canada needs to visit and rethink their national dish. I was excited about the karage chicken but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. Sat in the back and the decor is fun, great mood lighting.

Yelp
Small indoor seating area but they have outdoor seating in the back as well. I have not been to a Japanese burger spot before and as expected...Wagyu which was great. They have other items like rice bowls on the menu too.

Yelp
Don't believe any of the positive reviews, they have to be fake. This place is not great and they have zero sense of customer service. I ordered a boba and they charged $1.25 extra for boba which I have never seen being so high before. The drink was to go and they charged me the sales tax which they weren't supposed to per law. The drink was very bland and barely had boba in it. I went back to ask for more and they tried charging me more which I refused. I gave them to give more free of charge or a refund and they picked to give me a refund. What a ridiculous way of doing business! Anyhow, won't go back! Ps the response of the owner clearly shows a lack of professionalism and of customer service - I don't own any Chanel nor Louis Vuitton so that comment is both absurd & ridiculous. The point is not the cost here but the principle of being an honest business not trying to overcharge and illegally charge sales tax on top of it!

Yelp
I just can't get enough of this place. The seasoning of the meat is very unique and memorable. After I had my first burger here I kept wanting to come back here every week (which btw I did for at least a couple months haha). If burgers aren't your thing, then there's also some curry dishes you can order. The drinks here are also pretty good. This is definitely my favorite place to eat in Ojai. Oh and one more thing, they're doggo friendly here and will even occasionally give your puppers some treats.

Yelp
Nice friendly staff. Quiet and comfortable environment. Good quality menu with photos. Had the spicy garlic and truffle garlic fries. Had grilled chicken and shrimp last bowls. All very good.

Yelp
Didn't know what to expect at a place like this located in Ojai, but I was pleasantly surprised, and definitely locked in as a return customer. Since I was on my low/non gluten phase, I opted for the Wagyu Loco Moco plate (wagyu beef slices, fried egg, cabbage, rice, sauce) a dish I'm familiar with since my teen years back home in Hawaii. It was very good, and much less greasier than the food trucks back home. Definitely a fan. I took a bit of my kids' Wagyu burgers. I won't bother listing which ones they had because they were ALL good, and just comes down to which attachments you like. Their basic plain fries were delish, so I can only imagine how good they are with the Wagyu topping options. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Cute restaurant with Japanese anime decor, plenty of indoor & outdoor seating, quick friendly service & delicious food. They have a huge menu with lots to choose from. There are wagyu burgers, chicken burgers, salads, rice bowls, chicken & waffles, desserts & boba teas. We enjoyed the Japanese boneless wing bowl, the chicken was cooked perfectly, lightly fried on the outside but soft & tender in the inside. It came with rice, salad, edamame, relish & miso soup. We also liked the topa topa wagyu burger, it was juicy with good flavor & it came with avocado, cabbage & fried onion chips. I liked their passion fruit ice tea, it was just the right amount of sweetness. I asked for less ice but the cup was full of ice, which made the drink watery. I let the workers know & they immediately got me a new drink with less ice. I would definitely return the next time we're in the area.

Yelp
A few weeks ago, my family and I went on a day-trip to Ojai, and we had a late lunch at Yume Japanese Burger Cafe. This casual cafe is one of the few eateries on East Ojai Ave that was still open at 2pm on a Sunday. The staff were friendly and the menu had interesting fusions, which is also reflective in the cafe's decor. There are some booths at the front & back of the cafe, and more tables in the patio. I got the Yume Classic Wagyu Burger, which was hot, savory, and a little sweet. However, the burger patty was well-done and a bit dry. When I ordered at the counter, the staff didn't ask how I wanted the patty to be cooked, so I'm unsure if you can request for that here. Also, we got the Spicy Miso Fries to share. I thought they had the right amount of spice, and they were crispy and paired well with the burger.

Yelp
Lovely little burger shop on a quaint walking street of downtown Ojai. It's a quirky shop with random Japanese snacks/candies, and a fairly large menu. Dog friendly! You order at the front and they bring the food out. Despite that the staff checked on us frequently and made sure we were satisfied. Extra points for good service! The food was honestly pretty good! The burgers were definitely on the sweeter side in terms of toppings. The wagyu patties are moist/juicier which I'm a fan of. With the shredded lettuce this is not a particularly pretty burger but it tastes great. The takoyaki was excellent as well. Mango smoothie was tasty however the paper straw it came with made it impossible to drink. But you know, gotta save the turtles! Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area and want a juicy burger with pretty interesting topping choices!
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
The burger creator took our order and gave us the full run down on all the special ingredients in each burger and how uniquely different each burger's sauces are. It was an educational experience that I really enjoyed: learning about all the Japanese sauces. The burgers are fantastic and the bread is buns melt in your mouth. Now they come with free fries which is great! That gives them a star boost for me!

Yelp
Very tasty Japanese inspired burger place! So fun and unique we had to check it out. Ordering is done at the front counter and then you're given a number so they can find you in the restaurant. We chose to sit outside as it was a beautiful day and a local high school jazz band was performing nearby...what an unexpected treat! We got the Ojai Wagyu burger and spicy miso wagyu loaded fries. Everything was messy and delicious. Napkins on the table would be helpful! Service was quick and friendly. Since we don't live nearby we're inspired to make some similar dishes at home, but you better believe I'd visit again if we're in the area!

Yelp
Super sweet staff, the wygu burger was amazing and the vibe of the place is so cute. Will definitely go back! Thank you Maddie for being so sweet with our little ones

Yelp
The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and quick. We stopped by after a bike ride from Ventura. Came in through the back park our bikes and ate inside. Clean and calm, we didn't worry about the bikes. Thanks, Brandon, for the great service!

Yelp
We had been meaning to try this spot for a while and were looking forward to it. I had the salmon bowl and it was very basic and yet high priced. The salmon smelled fishy although it tasted OK. The iced tea was cloudy as though it had been hanging around a few days . He had the burger special and was running to find a restroom a few hours later. Definitely not going back.

Yelp
Stopped here for our weekend trip in Ojai. The shop is very busy with lots of signage and plenty of food options for everyone to enjoy. We only stopped in for a gluten free crepe (~$10). I got the French vanilla custard with strawberries crepe and it comes with whipped cream as well. It was a nice size but didn't fully hit the spot and can't put my finger on it. But really appreciate that the crepes here are gluten free :) Staff were friendly and quick. Definitely want to come back though to try their food this time.

Yelp
Popped right in here right before dinner reservations down the street. I'm a big fan of trying everything in the area because guess what we live 2.5 hours away and I'm sure we'll be craving a late night snack on the way home haha. My fiancé and I wanted to order takeout and try a small bite just because we were curious and love Japanese fusion foods. Also we had an hour to kill. We ordered the Classic burger and the Ojai wagyu burger. Both of these burgers were really good! I think it would have been nice if they asked us how we wanted our meat cooked. Other than that, it was still delicious. Super messy but worth it. It was hard to only take a couple of bites but the fact that we had it later that night was epic. One of the burgers tasted like takoyaki sauce.. amazing. Loved that connection lol.

Yelp
Absolutely a MUST go! Seriously one of the best burgers on the continent. Good quality food and great desserts too! If possible, the people are even nicer than the food is great, especially Maddie who went way out of her way to be welcoming to our young kids. The back patio is such a lovely atmosphere for relaxing and eating. I would highly recommend!!

Carlos A.

Yelp
The food is good not the best but good. Portions are decent except the drinks. Got a Wagyu cheese burger, flavorful balanced taste worth a try. Also picked up a couple of smoothies. Here's the problem. Remember to say light ice because 70% of the cup is ice. also had some fruit crêpes very tasty a little bit smaller than what we remember, but the flavor is right. value for your money, is a bit on the high side. The service was good. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and the ambience was nice. Probably could use a little background music but overall clean and open.

Yelp
The burgers were outstanding. Wageyu burgers are with tasting and eating. The outdoor seating was quite comfortable and not crowded. The outdoor was quiet. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

Yelp
SO GOOD! The wagyu beef burgers are so soft and sweet like dessert. Best burger I've had in California! I also had a matcha boba float (I wanted to try something different), which was good too. A lot of ice but of course that happens everywhere. When life gives me too much ice, I learned to just enjoy life!

Yelp
Excellent burger. The moco sauce on the Ojai wagyu burger was spot on. Busy spot, plenty of seating, service with a smile. Spicy miso fry was also excellent!

Aidan L.

Yelp
TERRIBLE FOOD, TOTAL SCAM. It is nothing like the photos or online menu. DO NOT TRUST THE ONLINE MENU. If you're feeling in the mood for a funky burger, just go to in 'n out instead. It is literally worse than any fast food burger you can get. It seems like they changed ownership and it became a shell of the former restaurant. It's a total ghost kitchen. We had to leave after the first bite of food because we could make this food better at home easily. THE WORST. 0/10. BAD!
google avatar

Yelp
Arrived in Ojai around 2:30pm and I was hungry. Good thing I found this cafe and ordered crispy chicken karaage over rice and iced matcha latte without any sugar. The food came in a set with miso soup and chilled edamame (soy beans) -- it was delicious. The matcha latte was also tasty, they definitely used a high quality matcha powder. It was a great day to be outdoors so I opted to seat in the back patio. The customer service was also great, the man who took my order was friendly and gave a great recommendation.

Yelp
This is my first time ever visiting Ojai and I'm so glad that I chose Yumi to eat at for lunch. This is a really cute restaurant with a big dining area in the back ( has indoor and outdoor seating area). We got the karage chicken, okonomi fries, ojai wagyu burger, and umi classic wagyu burger! They were all very delicious. The karage chicken was probably my favorite out of everything. The batter was so light and airy. The chicken was very juicy and seasoned well. The sauce was good with the chicken although I did enjoy the chicken without it as well. The okonomi fries truly tasted like okonomiyaki in regards to flavor! The fries were also fried to perfection. Crispy and yummy. The burgers were good, but not great. The wagyu in both just tasted like a normal burger patty to me. The burgers itself is packed with a lot of flavor with the ume classic burger having a more sweet, savory taste and the ojai burger having a more earthy, savory taste with the mushrooms. Everything complimented each other nicely. The employees were really friendly and checked on us frequently asking us if we wanted anything and if our experience was good. When I come back to Ojai, I am most definitely hitting up this restaurant again. I do want to try out the chicken sandwich and the boba. There are just so many yummy things on the menu I am really looking forward to try!

Yelp
WOWIE do not sleep on this gem of a restaurant! So many good things to say, but most importantly the burger was sooo yummy. I got the Topa Topa Wagyu burger ($17), which was perfectly filling and juicy. I was so tempted to get dessert because they also have boba drinks, shakes, crepes and waffles but I'll have to save it for next time. Super friendly staff, lots of patio seating and a few inside tables inside as well. Very cute Halloween decorations happening right now!! One gender neutral restroom inside.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Great vibe and tons of fun drinks and snacks to choose from beyond their menu. The quality of the patty was exceptional and had great flavor. The fries are crispy and the toppings were well balanced. The staff were kind and we definitely want to return.

Yelp
Great food with amazing working crew. They was very nice and respectful. The kids love this place

Yelp
They have really good burgers and boba. And always really nice and sanitary when I go here

Britany B.

Yelp
The burgers here are good. The staff is nice The chicken was very flavorful 8/10 Miso soup 0/10 Milk tea 50%sweetness 1/10 tasted like water. I asked for a different drink and just got a 10% off. Thai tea 75% sweetness 4/10 The bowl was mediocre. I asked for fries well done and they were more crispier I liked that.

Yelp
After driving all the way from LA to find NOTHING in this town is dog friendly it was nice to find a place that allowed my dog in. However, I thought this was an actual restaurant, but after waiting at the table for nobody to come we had to go inside to get a menu. They had one menu for a table of three to share. Had to go back inside to order to find out they were out of half the menu items and then back inside again to ACTUALLY order and then back inside to get our drinks. The one thing they DID do was to bring our food. Then after we finished we had to clean our own table off. It was a dining experience much like that of a fast food place. Fine I guess, but THEN I looked at my receipt and found that they charged me almost $10 for a "service fee" without telling me! I would actually LOVE a response explaining what service they believe I received??? Outside they had a giant sign for a cheeseburger combo for $13.99 that is apparently only during the week. Not just the price but actual combos? Lol. Ok but maybe take the sign down on the weekends! After finally finding something on the menu they had available we got our food. I will say the flavor was good, but the sauce on the teriyaki burger was so watery that it filled the paper the burger was in and overflowed out all over the table. I went through about 10 napkins just cleaning it off my face and the table after every bite. At the end I had to take the bun off and just eat the patty because it was soaked and soggy. We upgraded to the seasoned fries and they put so much seasoning on the top that they were too dry to eat and the bottom had no flavor. They forgot my husband's upgrade and so they just took the small fry that came with it and added the seasoning instead of giving him the upgraded size I got. In the end it cost me $80 for three fries and three burgers and my son got a slushy. Not sure how since they were around $16-17 for the burgers that came with fries and the seasoned fries we upgraded to were only a little over a dollar extra. That must have been one expensive slushy! Next trip to Ojai will be without the dog so I don't have to end up here again!!

Yelp
The food is delicious and so is the Boba. This is one of the only places in Ojai where you can get boba, but even still it's really good. The menu is extensive, and there are lots of options. The burgers are delicious. 10 out of 10 -recommend.

Yelp
Food was amazing, and juicy! Me and my hot girlfriend (squirm) ordered the shrimp Katsu burger and the topa topa burger. Both were srumdiddly-dumptuous. Mmmmmmm... burger. while the food was great, we were disappointed to come in with several options taken off the menu like the mochi waffles and the rice buns. Yume, you may serve us again. We'll be back

Yelp
The food was delicious, but the portions were very small for example, the burger was possibly less than a quarter pound size, besides the sides that were included were literally a tablespoon or two in size and we left still hungry so that's not a good thing. Besides that the service was very friendly and there are plenty of dishes to choose from.

Yelp
Yume is so insanely good and delicious. The Topa Topa Wagyu Burger & the Karaage Miso Loaded Fries were so good. The owner was also incredibly nice. This is a dog-friendly restaurant w/ a back patio. Lots of Japanese paintings/posters to make the design of this spot feel super cute.

Yelp
It was hands down the best hamburger I've ever had. The drinks and fries were made perfectly. They were so nice to my dog and I already want to return to the cafe. Love, love the decor.

Yelp
45 minutes for a burger and a salad. No apologies. Food is good but not worth waiting that long. No refills on ice tea. Asked the cashier up front if I should grab utensils and fork but they said they bring it to you. So I tipped them thinking they actually do something. 45 minutes later they bring the food and tell us to walk back and grab our own utensils ketchup and anything else we need. Love that.

Yelp
Tried this place for a quick dinner on Saturday night. The bowls, fried chicken sandwich, and fries were all good (according to my husband and friends). Açaí bowl was alright, it needs a better container the tall glass was a bit difficult to maneuver. The vegan salad (the server said it was the only vegan option that day, though based on ingredients it seemed the açaí bowl was also vegan) was really not good. It was a strange combo.. romaine (a bit past its prime) black olives, cranberries, and silken tofu. The dressing was supposed to be a balsamic vinaigrette, but tasted more umami. Maybe sesame or something. Service was good, location is very convenient, parking lot behind makes parking a breeze. If you're not vegan this place is good.

Yelp
If you're not gluten free this place is awesome. The flavor profiles are on point and mouth watering. If you are gluten free there are limited items to choose from. Many of the seasoning and sauces aren't gluten free so you won't get the same level of flavor and joy. But still very good and worth trying.

Yelp
This little Japanese burger spot is amazing! Nestled in the heart of ojai with a cute back patio. This was my second time back, tried a different burger and still impressed!

Yelp
Spent the afternoon up in Ojai, and my friend suggested we try Yume. We ordered at a counter, was greeted and any questions we had were answered. Thought about one of their burgers but they looked too big to fit in my mouth so I opted for a bowl. I had the Wagyu Loco Moco bowl and my friend had the Wagyu BBQ bowl. It was nice so we opted to sit in the back patio area. Food came in a reasonable time. We both really liked our meals, the miso and edamame were great sides. Need to go back and try other items in the menu. Owner and other workers checked on us to see how things were and we told them the food was great, and we definitely need to go back.
