The Best Doughnut Shops in Dallas-Fort Worth | Eater Dallas

"This neighborhood favorite is reminiscent of only the fondest childhood memories. The Oreo and peanut butter-topped doughnuts are in high demand by those who can’t quite see over the counter and the line can sometimes be out the door." - Courtney E. Smith

Above and beyond service and attention to detail! I asked for letter donuts for a birthday boy with red and green icing to make them Mario themed. They decorated the donuts with extra care, adding so many cute details like the eyes on the yellow star donuts, or the brickwork look from the games. I was blown away by the service and quality! The birthday boy was very happy with his special donuts!

Google
Great customer service, great prices. Highly recommend! I went in at almost closing time so the pictures don't have much product because she sells out! Must try you won't regret it. I ditched McDonald's for them.

Chef David Long

Google
I got the lemon drop, blueberry birthday cake and strawberry birthday cake. Really like how light the donut was even with the icing. The extra donut holes for free is a nice touch. If I'm back in town I'll be back. Gonna have to come early though because at 9am they was light on their choices.

Google
In town visiting and thought we would try this cute donut shop out. Very clean and they have a variety of options. Loved the homemade biscuit sandwiches. They had the cutest donut selection to choose from. If you're ever in the area, give this place a try. The staff was super sweet and very patient to wait for us to make our selections.

Love the place, the service is amazing and the variety of donuts is great, Will come back soon for more

Google
The best donut shop in the park cities! My kids love the donuts so much!!

Joey Daugherty

Google
The donuts are great. I had the lemon drop. But the super pig in a blanket (not sure of the correct name) was more like a hotdog weiner than a sausage you would expect. But the lady working there was very nice.

Sarah Orellana

Google
This is our go to on Saturday mornings. It's clean and the ladies inside are great. The donuts are so good and with great variety. I mean those specialty donuts that you shouldn't eat due to addiction. I LOVE that they give you complimentary little donut holes with your purchase. We love the drizzled buttermilk but make sure to get a yummy boy!

Yelp
Hey, whatever you do, be the very best! That's exactly what the owners and team at Yummy Donuts do every day. Consistently creative, high-quality, perfectly crafted, and YUMMY donuts are their hallmark. This place has been a neighborhood favorite for 15-20 years, step in the door and you'll see why! Yes, they have all the custom flavors you could dream of, but what sets them apart is how they nail the basics. The best glazed, the best chocolate, and the best old fashions and twists you'll ever taste. But YUMMY Donuts isn't just about donuts. Many people come for a bag of their famous pigs in a blanket. With multiple varieties to choose from, you better get there early because they sell out fast. All of this deliciousness is served with a smile by the owners and their dedicated team, who are there every day. YUMMY Donuts truly is the very best at what they do! If you need proof look at the smiles on everyone's face....hey you got a few sprinkles on your cheek there!

Meredith M.

Yelp
Yummy is YUMMY. Ms Rena is the most sincere & gracious business owner. She is a neighborhood favorite!

Martha R.

Yelp
The best neighborhood donut shop. We have so many memories of walking here with our young kids Saturday morning for the most delicious and (reasonably priced) treats. Ms. Rena and family are the best and we our lucky to have them on Lovers.
google avatar

Yelp
Best donuts of any kind, just delicious. They are family owned so they really care about what they do. Very nice people.

Yelp
Sausage rolls were ok. They're not my favorite type of weenie. I'm not sure these had cheese. My sweetie got maple bar and did something he's never done and had them fill it. Not his fave. Don't think he likes filling. The little cinnamon rolls are tasty. Get them! Honestly it's hard to mess up donuts. Mainly they need to be fresh. The rest boils down to personal preference on types of donuts you like. Give them a shot. You just may find your new Saturday morning shop. Peace out!

Yelp
Yummy is right on target with the taste of these donuts! We were on our way to the airport and figured we would stop at the closest place for breakfast on the way and glad we did! There are a variety of donuts and my fav was the lemon flavored cake donut! I love cake donuts more then anything! With every purchase you also get a handful of donut holes to enjoy. A few of my friends ordered the hod dog wrapped things and loved them so much they bought more for the flight that day. The store was well kept and very organized. It seemed like they had the same routine customer come in over and over with kids also. This place gets 5 starts for having great service, great quality service, and super clean.

Yelp
Yum! Nicest seating area for a donut shop that ive seen. Really fun and unique donuts

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about my experience here today! The owner was wonderful, and took my phone in order the week before needing the donuts for my fiancé's birthday. She was super accommodating and tried working with me to make something he would love. I chose to go with the "Happy Birthday" donuts I had heard about. They were ready promptly when I arrived at 6:30 am this morning. I also got a few extras and she threw in some donuts holes as a nice extra. The smores donut I had was good, but not my favorite. I personally loved the glazed with vanilla frosting and sprinkles donuts. It was cloud-like soft, and the icing was slightly different than any I have tried locally- I want to say it was slightly more savory? but still sweet. The store was super clean as well! I would highly suggest coming here and we will be back. I just know to get there early before all the good ones sell out!

Yelp
This is our go to place for donuts. They also have great kolaches here that we can order by the box. They even heat them in the microwave really quickly if they've cooled off. Service has always been fast and friendly.

Yelp
First time at Yummy Donuts and I couldn't help but judge the place as soon as I waked in. Looks like a renovated yogurt land inside- very bright orange walls which might be your thing in the morning if you need a visual pick me up. They have great tasting speciality donuts that are about $2 each which isn't bad especially considering how small they are compared to other speciality Donuts in the metroplex that would charge more. Don't think $1.50 for a kolache with cheese is a fair price point for a mediocre tasting sausage roll. Arrived at 7:45 AM after trying to find parking for 10 minutes. It's in a very densely packed shopping strip (next door to Drip Coffee) which makes it a heavy traffic area especially with several school zones/neighborhoods around. They were out or almost out of their most interesting/non traditional flavors. Doesn't seem like the best place to come to if you're in a rush or wanting something specific- kind of a "roll your dice and wish for the best" uncertainty that I'm not exactly comfortable with so early in the morning. I mentioned the orange walls, it's overwhelming. But this kind of crazy out there look is probably what put them on the map with such a young demographic. What I mean by that is, Lots of shook age kids running in and out. They all seemed to love it! Maybe it was the Hello Kitty donut that was their draw. Kind of tastes like an airy flaky cookie more than a donut. I probably won't go again unless I knew for sure I had the time. I would only get these for myself and not for a group.

Yelp
My daughter gets donuts from here for her birthday every year. She loves them. She thinks Yummy makes the best donuts available anywhere. They are her ultra special birthday treat!!

Yelp
I am currently in Dallas for work and decided to bring donuts to our new office. The donut place had good ratings and it was close to the office, so I decided to give it a try. The lady working behind the counter was extremely friendly but if you want a dozen donuts, it is $11 (for the dozen pictured) and you do not get to pick which dozen you want. If you want to pick, since there are specialty donuts, the price will vary depending on what you pick. For simplicity, I got the dozen and allowed the lady to pick out the donuts for me, which I was told are the "popular" office donuts. If you do not want donuts, the shop sells breakfast sandwiches and piggy's (pigs in a blanket), in addition to the donuts. The donuts were good, no real complaints about the taste but not the best donuts compared to other donut shops I've been too. If you are in the area, I would recommend the shop if your in a pinch for time. Enjoy!

Yelp
I always love coming here! The staff is super nice! I highly recommend the fruity pebbles donut. It's basically a blueberry donut with strawberry icing and fruity pebbles on top. I would not come here for the regular glazed donuts, but all of their creative artisanal donuts are amazing. I especially love their cheese piggies. Definitely make sure to get one (or a few) of them. Also, make sure that you come earlier because their donuts will run out.

Luis s.

Yelp
This place is kinda pricey but the donuts are pretty good but when I came in the store to ask for filled donuts they had some not filled now the one I go to by my house they ask you if you want it filled or not but this place it's either filled already or not filled and they won't fill it for you which to me doesn't make anything sense of why, people like different flavors so why only make a limited amount of filled donuts but when it's gone it's gone like that's just dumb especially for a place that's expensive like wtf lemme go ahead and spend $1.50 plus tax for bread and a sausage inside when I could go to Walmart and buy the pre made dough and the sausages for $1.50 and make a dozen like get y'all act together please

Yelp
Quick and easy placing my birthday letters order in advance and it was ready on time when I got there! Friendly service and everything looked cute!

Yelp
My favorite (and my kids') place to get doughnuts! They are the nicest most accommodating people and have the most delicious doughnuts! So glad to have this place in our neighborhood!!

Becky L.

Yelp
Called the day before to place a custom order and they turned it around so quickly! The donuts were a hit at the baby shower. Cute AND delicious! Thanks so

Yelp
A great doughnut shop and amazing customer service. They have awesome flavors like blueberry cake, birthday cake, and strawberry shortcake. They even have croissants which are good as well. The second time I went to Yummy's, I needed $1 to pay and they let me pay them next time. I don't suggest trying that but it was nice of them.
google avatar

Yelp
We ordered our son's third birthday donuts here. They turned out great and delicious. The order was finished on time which was great as we raced to the Perot to setup for the party. Super pleased and have recommended Yummy to other moms as well since! I will be back for another chocolate glazed donut soon!!!

Yelp
What can I say? Donuts are my weakness, and I make it a point to survey the town whenever I relocate. Having mad a decent experience at Fantastic Donuts (http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Mh_E_dqscM8yMMtwjgVxlA&userid=OKX-V5j_qfuOebeHeWGrHg) and Sunrise Donuts (http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=vKi6GjyAbzepxWjdibUsaQ&userid=OKX-V5j_qfuOebeHeWGrHg) I decided to give well-reviewed Yummy Donuts a go before work one morning. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? Donut shops are straight forward, so service is key. Fortunately, Yummy Donuts' owners are friendly and prompt, and you can expect a friendly face, a suggestion should you be looking for one, and a cute environment. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? My mixed dozen was $13.88. Now, that's significantly more than the $8.20 I paid for a dozen at nearby Sunrise, but there are two reasons that I was okay with it. First and foremost, these are unique offerings unlike what you would normally expect to find. We're talking reeses, oreos, apple pie, bacon, peanut butter, etc. Second, you can be sure your order will include at least two handfuls of donut holes, which is a nice touch: http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=4ZFbhVlpQMqH2r_tqzG_qg&userid=OKX-V5j_qfuOebeHeWGrHg Fair. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? While I could hardly contain my excitement at diving into a few donuts while driving to work from the shop, I ended up being a bit disappointed for a few reasons. First and foremost, the standard glazed is a bit weak. The glaze tends to crust and flake a bit, which I'm not a big fan of, and the donut itself wasn't quite as fluffy and airy as I've had. Second pertains to the good stuff. Again, I was giddy when I dove first into the oreo donut, but I found that this was essentially just some oreo pieces stuck to the top of a dry, standard chocolate donut. Much like a burger, toppings can't carry a poor product, and when it came to the donut, this wasn't great. I had the same experience with the reeses and the caramel apple. Sure, the toppings are great, but the donut itself was weak. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? I've had better donuts, and while the selection is excellent, I can't say this is my go-to in Dallas. No Star Granted.

Amy M.

Yelp
This place is a go-to for work treats and a family favorite, too! Their donuts are great, and their service is so sweet. Such nice people. Miles above all the other donut shops in the area. They even made a tiny stack of wedding cake donuts for my dad to give my mom the morning of their 50th anniversary!

Yelp
This is our go to on Saturday mornings. It's clean and always friendly. The donuts are so good and with great variety. They give you complimentary little donut holes with your purchase. Get a yummy boy!

Yelp
I've been to this place dozens of times since I stumbled into it 3 years ago trying to find Mustang Doughnuts on the SMU campus (I lived in Ft. Worth at the time!). Yes, I actually seek out doughnut places so I am not after the usual affair of doughnut holes and kolaches. After visiting Randy's and Stan's Doughnuts in LA, I was determined to find something DFW has to counter with and I will say this place is one of them. Depending on the time of day, the place will be packed full of doughnuts and specialty ones for you to drool on. I normally go before 9 AM as that is when the kiddies come in and take the best ones. The owners explained to me they have different ones depending on the days, with the weekends being a bit more extravagant. I especially like the Dulce de Leche doughnut, along with the coconut creme. I've pre-ordered a couple dozen or so in advance on a weekday when it's my turn to bring in breakfast to the office. I like to show my coworkers how it is done properly with the specialty ones! The regular doughnuts are okay, just average and by no means the reason you come into this place. I usually sample the kolache too, just to see what kind of bread\sausage combination they have to offer and it's better than your average "Donut" place. The bread on the kolache is really tender and flaky, especially the croissant ones.

Annie R.

Yelp
Always happy to provide delicious morning treats!! The owner is wonderful and truly loves her customers!
google avatar

Louie N.

Yelp
I must of came on a bad morning. I ordered a dozen of glazed donuts and a dozen of their piggies with cheese (kolaches). They were a little stale and a little extra doughy.
google avatar

Kori S.

Yelp
Favorite family stop. The woman who worked the counter was the sweetest! Even if we only stopped by every couple of months, she remembered us and was excited to see us. We loved seeing their fun donuts. My girls loved the Hello Kitty. A great pregnancy splurge stop.

Yelp
Donuts are a guilty pleasure for anyone, but Yummy Donuts is gilding the lilly just a bit. But maybe there are people out there who, after cramming down a fat-filled sugar bomb, still feel a little too healthy about their last meal. Fear not, Yummy Donuts is here to push your inhibitions and stomachs to their very limits! The menu at Yummy is a bit like when Mommy and Daddy were gone and they put an 8 year old in charge of making their own breakfast. I can see it now... "Ohhh Donuts! Yummy! Maybe I'll put some of this cake frosting on it too... Then sprinkle on some Oreo cookies... No wait! Candy bars! Or how about Fruity Pebbles, that's a breakfast food, right? Then some caramel on top, or maybe marshmallow. Perfect!" And they taste just like you imagined. Well, probably not as good as you are imagining. Still, I applaud them for pushing the envelope when it comes to donuts. This is one of the most under-appreciated junk foods out there, and I am vigilantly backing the pro-donut, anti-fro-yo international take-over. But in the wake of visiting one of the nations most innovative and forward thinking donut shops, Donut Plant in NYC, I realize we have a long way to go here. The 3 stars is primarily due to the fact that I didn't even think that the "Non-Extreme" donuts were anything special, and if I was in the area again I would just head to Mustang Donuts in Snider Plaza. Glazed donut holes were dry, Apple Fritter was a little stale, and the buttermilk was fair, but nothing great. The extreme donuts were, of course, a bit over the top: Blueberry donut with strawberry icing and fruity pebbles. Umm, OK. Cake donut with tres leches frosting. Nice idea, poor execution. Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, toffee and chocolate syrup. Dreamed up by Willy Wonka himself! And every fat kid's dream! Chocolate cake sandwich donut filled with cream frosting. Oreos on steroids. In the end. There was nothing really disgusting, but there was really just nothing very appetizing, and nothing to warrant a return visit. It would be much easier to just head to Walmart and buy a cheap birthday cake for breakfast. I look at this place like a "try it once" kinda deal, and if you want something this decedent with exceptional quality I would probably go elsewhere.

Yelp
Great service and selection of delectable pasteries. Try the red velvet donuts! I will be coming back

Yelp
I am not a huge donut fan, after a 420 munchies attack on Krispy Kreme in college, I had sworn off donuts. Many years later, I decided that I would end my feud with them. Yummy donuts pissed me off at first, I was driving to work after a mornings Dr. appointment and really wanted something sweet for breakfast. I found Yummy donuts, pulled in at 10am on a Tuesday morning, and they were CLOSED! Who is closed on a Tuesday? Retarded. I was pissed. Yummy donuts, I am glad I gave you another chance! This place is a child's wet dream. It is clean and pink and the donuts are CRAZY!!!! They have the most unique flavor combinations I have ever seen in Dallas! There was Moon Pie, Cookie, Dough, Mint Chocolate Chip, Dulce du Leche, Whoopie Pie....the list goes on! There were even kolaches, for you non-donut lovers. I happened to be in line when a man came in with his adorable toddler and she actually squealed when she saw a donut shaped and frosted to resemble Hello Kitty! There were also donuts shaped like little dolls, so creative! After battling with the choices, I settled on one that looked too spectacular to pass up. I forget the name, sadly, but I will never forget the taste....it was a blueberry cake donut with strawberry icing and Fruity Pebbles on top! The cake of the donut was soft and light ( not as dense as DD) and flavorful. It was topped with a sweet creamy strawberry icing and then doused in crunchy Fruity Pebbles. This donut was amazing. It was worth the extra trip to the gym and ridiculous sugar coma that came with it!

Anna R.

Yelp
I had no idea i needed to call 3 days in advance for birthday donuts so I was understanding when the young lady said it was too late HOWEVER she called me back & let me order them & I didn't even have to pay the required deposit. I was ecstatic & my son loved the donuts!! Thank you for the accommodations!!
google avatar

Heather P.

Yelp
Maybe it was because we didn't get their first thing in the morning but our donuts and kolaches weren't fresh at all. The kolaches would have parts where it would be hot and then cold, yet hard, like it was over cooked. Also, you can tell by the donut pic that it wasn't fresh at all. Although our kids liked it, we didn't and won't be back.
google avatar

Michaela K.

Yelp
So if you are going to go to a Donut Shop you really aren't worried about how the calories are going to affect you, nor are concerned about the amount of sugar that is going to rot your teeth. But if you have kids they want cool Donuts right? So what the hell...Go to yummy yummy. If you are hung over and want all the grease and fat to fill your belly.. they have it. Want Oreos or German Chocolate on your Donut? They have it. Want a Yummy Boy glazed Donut or a Yummy girl? Man they even have piggies in a blanket that they will warm for you. Don't be scared of the Yuppie moms and the annoying kids. Just get in, get your Donut, and get out and you will be happy you did. And there is coffee next door to wash it down in a more cleaner setting.

Maggie R.

Yelp
Staff is always so friendly & nice. Donuts & sausage rolls are delicious... love the bonus donut holes! :) However, on weekends please consider making an extra (or two) of each of the "basic" donuts (especially devil's food - ha!). If you come in too late (10:00 am) on weekend you're sold out of everything - but, open until 12:00 pm (with no food)? Even on weekdays past 9a donut inventory is slim. What is the point of staying open? The last time I was there, three separate customers/families left empty handed... that could've been a good additional sale$$$! More inventory will make it easier for us to support local businesses... thank you!
google avatar

Jenn D.

Yelp
Creative donuts of awesome. Loved the chocolate varieties. Girlfriend loved the Hello Kitty one. :)

Jordan S.

Yelp
I have a sweet tooth, yes I admit it and so will my dentist. Though the fact remains that I still wanted some kolaches or something since I was starving and coffee wasn't cutting it. I have been to Yummy once before but it was on a Tuesday... If you didn't read the other reviews and just skipped to mine, YUMMY IS CLOSED ON TUESDAYS. I scouted for a parking spot as this area on Lovers Lane is always pretty packed, I pulled in and walked a few shops down to a shot gun style suite, which is not uncommon here in the south, its not wide but very long building. As soon as I walked in I was blown away by PINK, and multiply hello's yes pink its everywhere. I checked out there kolaches and then there doughnuts, they had Oreo topping, Reese's pieces and Reese's peanut butter cup topping and so much more. I got a few " Piggy's with Cheese" and a few doughnut holes checked out, waited for my stuff to be warmed up and took a picture of some doughnuts and left. I drove back to work and on the ride took a bite of my Kolache, it was good, not saying fantastic lets go back and get another few for lunch but it was good, they were soft outter, with just a pinch of cheese and on the verge of being hot. I put them all down and started on the holes, they were fluffy and light, with just the hint of frosting. OK so I should have got a bunch more but I didn't so I guess there will be a review update on another day. enjoi_

Yelp
I have visited a lot of the local donut shops around the DFW area, and while I don't think this is the absolute best place for a traditional donut, it definitely takes the cake for most creative. That's not to say the donuts weren't really, really good. I loved my strawberry jelly-filled with strawberry icing donut. And my blueberry with strawberry icing and Fruity Pebbles was amazing. Yes, I said Fruity Pebbles. Kids will love this place because of all of the crazy types of donuts they offer. I will definitely be going back soon.
google avatar

Robin K.

Yelp
Omg so good! Please eat the fruity pebble doughnut! My all time fav and with national doughnut day in June it wouldn't hurt to splurge!

Betsy R.

Yelp
The maple bacon worth the trip. Apple fritters excellent. Frosted are awful. Tastes like canned frosting. Will continue the hunt for best in area.
google avatar

Dave M.

Yelp
clean, great design, one of the best donuts i've tasted, friendly and professional staff, wide selection. if you don't like donuts they have plenty of breakfast sandwhich to choose from. free wifi and clean restroom. great for morning sit down. what's not to like
google avatar

Brian R.

Yelp
Good selection of donuts - my 6 year old loves all the different types of donuts. Prices are very reasonable.

W G.

Yelp
I discovered Yummy Donuts about a month ago and have made three trips so far. I thought it was an upscale chain because they did such a good job with the design/decor, but I think this is the only location. I like plain glazed donuts, and Yummy's are now my favorite. Krispie Kreme is my second favorite, just so you can get an idea of what I like. The Yummy glazed has less sugar glazing that KK's, but maybe just a little more than the average grocery store donut. They're the size of a grocey store donut, but are very soft and fresh. My son loves the blueberry cake with white frosting! They also have kolachies and some other baked goods, but I have not tried them yet.
google avatar

Tressie L.

Yelp
All I have to say is blueberry cake donut with strawberry icing, topped with fruity pebbles. So inventive and delicious! The staff was wonderful too. It is a little kid's dream.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
The owner is so sweet she always remembers the kids names... definitely the HP/neighborhood donut shop. The donuts are good but the biscuits are better. : )
google avatar

Shannon G.

Yelp
In desperate need for donuts I found this place and thank goodness I did! I mean, I would have still been a hero bringing donuts back if they had been just regular old donuts but these were way better! Green tea donut? Yes please! Good cake donut with a green tea icing, very unique! Red Velvet donut with cream cheese icing! Smores Donut with marshmallow filling! There was apparently a "whoopie pie" donut but it was sold out. Sometimes I think these kinds of places that do the really creative donuts don't worry enough about the donut its self but these were solid- the cake donuts were moist and the yeasty donuts were appropriately pillowy. I was very pleased with the donuts- they were indeed yummy!
google avatar

Chuck A.

Yelp
It's not Top Pot or the Donut Plant......still, a mighty fine donut. The prices are great - $13 for two dozen, friendly staff, very clean, but not really a place to sit and linger.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
I don't usually eat donuts at the office but these were too pretty to pass up. I was delighted to find they were also delicious. The Smores cake donut I sampled was light and moist - rivaling the donuts I had at Top Pot in Seattle. I will definitely be heading to Yummy this weekend to try more.
google avatar

Sidney H.

Yelp
I got there around 6:30am. I guess it was still pretty early since they didn't have the Fruity Pebble donuts out yet. I did get a red velvet, toffee, and an apple donut. They also threw in some free donut holes. Great donuts. Will be back.
google avatar

Phil A.

Yelp
Came by to pick up coffee & a donut. Alittle worried about the pink awning but scooted in. Pleasant & efficient host. Weirdly orange acrylic interior, sort of an old school Dunkin Donuts copycat. Glazed donut good, slight oily aftertaste. So probably gonna regret this later. Give them kudos for unique donut varieties, but not a real breakfast selection. Kinda like Krispy Kreme, too much of a dessert profile. Not sure about the sausage rolls/pigs-in-blanket/kolache, whatever, they looked alittle dry & overcooked.
google avatar

James P.

Yelp
Fine donut store. Cool interior and really nice owner.
