Yelp
Best dim sum in Gainesville.
Yummy House is not a large sized dim sum restaurant like the ones you'd find in a large metropolitan city like NYC, LA, Seattle, or Chicago but for its size and location it does an impressive job with its variety of dim sum dishes. If you have not tried their dim sum, go and try it.
Dim sum is traditional served during breakfast and lunch hours but now many restaurants serve it throughout the day. Dim sum is made up of small plates of steamed and fried dumplings, buns, and snacks served with tea.
There is a large variety to chose from, and the ones I have tried from Yummy House: har gow, siu mai, sticky rice lotus leaf wrap, turnip cake, soup dumplings, braised chicken feet, pork buns, steamed stuff tofu skin rolls, egg custard tarts and egg custard buns, steamed black beef tripes, steamed shrimp balls, fried shrimp balls, shrimp rice noodle rolls, beef noodle rolls, roast pork puffs, shrimp chives, deep fried taro cake/puffs, peppers stuffed with shrimp, sesame balls, and I am sure I am forgetting some.
For the past 10 years, Yummy House is where I go when I am craving dim sum and am in Gainesville. I am headed there today which made me realize that I'd never left a Yelp review of Yummy House Gainesville. They have other locations in Ocala and Tampa. I have only been to the Gainesville location.
