Give this place a try! A small business that offers fresh and authentic Thai food at an affordable price. We came there for lunch and there had been a photo session going on (for their meals). We waited outside for 5 mins while the photographers were wrapping up. We ordered the papaya salad, basil fried rice, and boat noodle. All of them were delicious and taking us back to Thailand. The papaya salad was great. We asked for a medium spicy and we got medium. They used both red and green chili’s and it just tasted so refreshing. The basil fried rice was the best. It’s so fragrant that I couldn’t remember when I had such fried rice for the last time. Perhaps in Thailand. It’s so mouth watering and not too salty. The boat noodle was also yummy. The beef was very generous and they used lots of herbs and you can really taste the richness (yet not heavy) of the broth. This is a small business so you might see some unorganised stuff in the corner. But it’s not unappealing or anything like that. We were just wondering that they could’ve had more space for more customers had they cleaned it up. But I would definitely come back.

I don’t know if we got so unlucky, but experience was horrible. Prices are low, but portion sizes not asian-place-like. The only good dish was kimchi fried rice $11.95, but still the egg on top was way overcooked. We also ordered shumai (6 pieces $5.95) they were tiny and I barely found any filling in it; supposed to be served w/sweet ginger sauce, but it was more like plain soy sauce. Chicken wings were average, the sauce was great. ($5.95) The other thing was Eggplant Basil w/shrimp $13.50 it was just ok, little bl taste and weird texture (and I normally love eggplant in any variations). We weren’t ask for a level of spice for non of our dishes, but when our friend (who was late came in) they reassured her that they make curry ($11.50 - $14.95) with low spice level. The dish put the mouth on fire! The customer service friendly and attentive when it comes to bringing a water or a napkin, but they need to pay closer attention to the accuracy of orders and better menu knowledge.

Just ordered the food today. Asked for mild/spicy 3. Not spicy at all and barely that much flavor. The drinks I recieved already spilled in their bags when I got it. Disappointed. The pad thai was just noodles and oil. No flavor at all.

YummyThai in Cambridge, MA is an absolute gem of a restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. But it's the food that truly steals the show. Every dish I tried was bursting with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. The Pad Thai was a standout, with perfectly cooked noodles, tender chicken, and just the right balance of sweet and savory flavors. The Tom Yum soup was also exceptional, with a spicy kick that warmed me up on a chilly night. But what really blew me away were the curries. I tried both the green curry and the Massaman curry, and they were both so delicious that I couldn't decide which one I liked better. The curries were creamy, fragrant, and full of complex flavors that kept me coming back for more. And to top it all off, the service was top-notch. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations. Overall, YummyThai is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves authentic, flavorful Thai cuisine. I can't wait to go back and try more of their amazing dishes!

This Thai place is the BEST! The first time I came, I had the chili crispy duck which was absolutely delicious. The second time, I tried their spicy basil eggplant, also excellent. The food is tasty with the right levels of spice, and the people are super nice. Definitely going to be regulars here.

Small - about six tables - and very tasty Thai food right on Mass Ave across from the church. We ate an early dinner and were seated immediately. We split a panang curry, which had an excellent flavor. I do wish it was a bit spicier, but my wife thought it was perfect. The Mrs got Thai basil pad Thai for dinner, and I got a rice noodle dish. Each dish had chicken as the protein. The portions were appropriate for the price and everything came out fresh and hot. We'll go back. For two Iced teas, curry, and two noodle dishes it came to just under $50 including tip.

Not authentic, very Americanized. Very little spice, overcooked mushy noodles, really mediocre. It was so unappetizing I couldn't eat more than a few bites. We had the mango curry, pad see ew, and house fried rice. None of them were good, just overly oily and salty without distinct flavor. Even my kids wouldn't eat the fried rice, which they usually love. If you like authentic Thai, you may be disappointed here. Don't like to be a harsh critic, but really regret ordering from here.

I ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp and was blown away by the quality and flavor of the dish. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the shrimp was plump and juicy, with just the right amount of seasoning. I also tried the Tom Yum soup, which was the perfect combination of spicy, sour, and savory, with fresh herbs and vegetables that added an extra layer of depth to the dish. What really stood out to me, however, were the vegetarian options on the menu. I'm always on the lookout for delicious vegetarian dishes, and YummyThai did not disappoint. The Vegetarian Green Curry was particularly outstanding, with a creamy and flavorful coconut milk sauce that perfectly complemented the fresh and colorful array of vegetables. The hospitality and attentiveness of the staff were top-notch. Highly recommend

Ordered pad thai (with chicken) recently during lunch hours. This is the first time I'm reviewing a dish for being objectively bad, and I suspect it wasn't cooked properly. The chicken on the pad thai was very dry and rubbery. It's not unusual for delivery/takeout places to reheat their food, but I suspect the chicken was either very old or microwaved several times before getting to me. The pad thai sauce/seasoning was also burnt. I don't mean that it was smoky or overcooked - it was burnt as in it was strait bitter. Like I'd have to set my fire alarms off to burn food enough to achieve the flavor profile in this pad thai. I'm guessing my particular order of pad thai was screwed up, as there's just no way a restaurant is going to stay in business if this is how they normally serve pad thai. While I'm guessing their usual pad thai orders are better, I do think it's noteworthy that they'd send out what seems to be a totally failed pad thai order.

Ordered food from this place for the first time tonight. I ordered the cashew nut stir fry and my girlfriend got the dumplings n soup. I am vegan and the meal I ordered I asked for tofu in mine. Everything was going fine until I noticed there was a piece of CHICKEN on my plate. I do not eat meat and this kinda ruined my dinner seeing it in with the rest of my food. I would prefer not having to pick through my food before each bite to make sure I didn't eat something accidentally. I will not be returning.

My sister lives in Cambridge and I've been to Yummy Thai many times over the years. We've eaten in twice, but have done take-out countless numbers of time. The restaurant itself is a small hole in the wall, but what it lacks in ambiance it makes up with the food. Their Drunken Noodle is quite tasty and the Thai Basil Chicken is really flavorful. My 7-year old nephew loves the Pad Thai, but I find it a little too sweet for my taste. I prefer a Pad Thai with a bit more of a spice. I've had their Drunken Noodle several times and as in the past it was delicious. The restaurant throws in free fried banana wontons with each order. When ordering take-out, make note that there is an entree portion and a dinner portion (which is the entree, plus rice). The entree portion is larger and better for sharing take-out. But, it doesn't come with rice. This would be my only gripe about this place. You are playing $12-14 for an entree and no rice accompanies it. It has to be ordered separately for $1.50.

We did ubereats from here, the food felt a bit greasy to me and definitely not the cheapest but I really enjoyed my pad thai. I get GERD symptoms from asian food from other restaurants and I didnt get this from my pad thai here so that's my test that they probably use better oil. The crab rangoon was fresh and I loved it. Would definitely recommend to try for your thai fix.

No metal or plastic in my food like some other reviews. Pad Thai was solid, shumai was disgusting and rangoons were good.

Kinda same problem: ordered online for pickup at 7:00, got there at 6:55, food was tepid; I suspect they again filled the order as soon as they received it, rather than at the time requested. In addition this time, they got a minor item wrong--requested Thai iced tea and got Thai lemon tea. Otoh, their som tum is really good, and prices are a good deal lower then others in the area.

Honestly, if you want authentic taste, this is the place, which means don't order the usual pad Thai, drunken noodles, and try the cultural 'homey' dishes recommended by the server if you are not familiar with cultural Thai dishes. It reminds me of my mom's home town and her stories as a child in Thailand. Dishes like Num Tok, Som Tum Pu and Larb, plus others are what I grew up with my family. Yes, it's a small place, and it doesn't look nice and fancy like other restaurant but who says, smalls restaurants are terrible when the hole in the walls ones are the best, as it brings much more authentic taste into the its culture cuisines. I come here very often and can't wait to bring others to try this place and share what I love about this place.

i stopped here on a whim on my way to pemberton. i ordered the pineapple fried rice and it was pretty disappointing- i had to douse it in chili oil and soy sauce because it was mostly flavorless. it also didn't have raisins, nuts, egg, or other yummy things in pineapple fried rices i've had elsewhere. the food was ready in 5 minutes though so 2 stars for that

I have not tried most of their dishes but I need to complement their Boat noodles. It's the best one in the greater Boston area. Tender sliced beef and very savory broth ... small improvement is for the meatballs that come with the dish ... those meatballs need to be boiled together long enough with the broth. Will definitely come back again, even only for the boat noodles

This place has quality Thai food. The rice, noodles, and curry dishes are excellent. My favorite is the Indonesian fried rice, red curry, and any of the noodle dishes. Great service and people too. Thank you Yummy Thai!

I am so sad to say that Yummy Thai just hasn't been the same for the past 6-8 months. The prices have gone up noticeably- $6.50 for 1 measly scallion pancake (in pieces to look like you're getting more than you are) that has more batter than onion in it seems ridiculous to me. Once upon a time you'd get two pancakes with your order and they tasted better. This has been the case my past two orders. Also, the last order I made I got the drunken noodles with both shrimp and tofu. I got no tofu and absolutely no sauce/seasonings at all. It was so bland that I considered not eating it -even after trying to add my own soy sauce to the mix. My order before this one was also totally screwed up and I got no apology or attempt at keeping one of their once loyal customers. Even if the price increases were caused by the pandemic, those increases won't go down after the pandemic has gone away. More importantly, the quality has gone down hill and think I need to find my new favorite Thai restaurant. It's so sad because they really were so....well, yummy.

Delicious and SUPER fast for takeout. Highly recommend the rice dishes. Everything I have has there has been fantastic.

This place makes very good authentic dishes. Also they have a secret menu, im not sure if I'm suppose to share... but I took a picture of it lol so enjoy!

I keep giving them chances over the years as they are conveniently located, but I'm always disappointed. I've tried the Satay - meh, it's the best of what I've had from there but not great, the fresh rolls - not very fresh as expected & came with brown avocado that was in appetizing, massaman curry was also meh - not very flavorful and didn't love the bland white potato inclusion vs typical sweet potato. White rice wasn't very good. The worst item I've ordered are bad crab Rangoons. We threw them out. There are so many great Thai places in the area and by comparison this one isn't very strong, I'd recommend passing on Yummy Thai.

DONT ORDER THE FRESH ROLLS!!!! We ordered delivery, and the fresh rolls were anything but fresh, with old, sour cucumbers that ruined the whole dish. (In general, the fresh rolls here are very different from other places, as they also include other ingredients such as avocado.) The pad Thai, however, was pretty reasonable. Hence the second star. That said, old and gross fresh rolls are a massive hit on my trust of the food quality of this establishment moving forward unfortunately.

Just got food from here. They are listed as "SmartBox" online. I thought it was a new place. This place is FILTHY. It looks like they've never vacuumed the rug. There was junk piled everywhere. If your front area is that dirty, and cluttered, image how bad the kitchen is. The food I got was way over priced, and disgusting. The chicken satay smelled weird, and looked like old shoe leather. The beef fried rice smelled like fish, and the beef was all full of grissle, and was grey in color. Avoid this place it's no good. $30 down the drain.

Fast and efficient delivery! And the delivery person was so nice and communicative. Larb salad was excellent and so was the chicken salad. My daughter loved her chicken and shrimp pad thai. Chicken wings were a good choice for my picky nephew. Highly recommended.

They agreed to cater a corporate lunch. They called AN HOUR before it was to be dropped off and cancelled. That's awful. You have to do better than that. Do not order from them.

Yummy Pad Thai and Gyoza, which is all I'm looking for in a Thai place! The soy sauce that came with the Gyoza is delicious, and the Pad Thai noodles are thin and the sauce is flavorful-- not too thick or too thin. Will definitely be ordering again.

Ordered delivery from this place and found a piece of plastic string in my food! OMG, you should close up and do some proper safety training...

Extremely disappointed in this restaurant's accommodation of allergy requests. I am severely allergic to peanuts and sesame and I very clearly wrote under each of the dishes I ordered that I have an allergy and not to include these ingredients- in addition to checking the box that said "No Peanuts". This has never been an issue for me when ordering from other restaurants or Thai places, but once my order was delivered, sure enough the dishes still had these ingredients even though the receipt that came with my order very clearly had my requests on it in a large font right there next to each item. The entire meal was completely inedible for me and if I had not looked closely and noticed the peanuts in the food, I would have had a dangerous allergic reaction and likely a trip to the hospital. I would completely stay away from this place as someone with severe food allergies because I don't trust them to accommodate any requests. I called the restaurant and could not understand a word that the employee was saying. He offered no remorse for the incorrect order and essentially told me to deal with it through DoorDash. After spending an hour on the phone with DoorDash on a Sunday evening, they couldn't give me a refund until the restaurant processed it on their end. The DoorDash employee helping me also said that they could not understand each other at all when speaking with the people at the restaurant and now it is still unclear to me whether I will get a refund for my possibly deadly meal! I'm sure the food would have been good if I could eat it but if you have allergies, I cannot stress enough how dangerous this is. I wouldn't even risk going back or having them redo my order.

I ordered mango fried rice and fortunately saw the staple in the food before I ate it! You can see the staple in the photo with this review. I was on my feet and went into the kitchen to tell them and then left never to return...

Yummy Thai Cuisine is one of my favorite takeout spots. I've never actually sat down to eat here--the restaurant is quite small and I rarely see people sitting down, but it has a very cute atmosphere, complete with Christmas lights and yellow wallpaper. I always enjoy going in for pickup, the woman who owns the restaurant is so sweet. My favorite dish here is the Crispy Chicken Pad Thai, or the regular Chicken Pad Thai when I'm trying to be very slightly healthier (I'd highly recommend the former though). Sometimes they throw in some extra little desert treats as well, often the little fried banana bites, and they are so tasty!! I don't know anyone who doesn't love their takeout.

I'm Thai and would love to recommend this place. They just change the owner 6 months ago as I talk to the owner. The food was so so good especially north eastern style food.

I ordered takeout here one night. First time ordering. I ordered pad Thai but, the texture and the taste was off. The noodles were stringy and too oily.

I ordered delivery for the first time here and got the mango curry and the house salad. The house salad is my new favorite salad, really different and delicious. The mango curry was also excellent. I placed my order on grub hub and it somehow got duplicated. I've had one other issue with a Grubhub order in the past and it was a nightmare to resolve. I called Yummy Thai and they had already figured it out and taken care of it. I will definitely go back

Ordered takeout. Was greasy and tasted gross. One dish tasted buent. The seafood wasn't fresh. Gave us stomach aches.

Yummy Thai has quickly become my go-to for Thai food in my neighborhood. The staff is friendly and attentive. My roommate and I ordered delivery via foodler, about 5 minutes after placing my order they called to just clarify part of my order. I appreciate that rather than make an assumption or get my order wrong, they called. The food has been consistently good. My roommate says that the pad thai is the best she's had from our neighborhood joints. Their Tom Yum has the perfect spicy tang, a couple of large shrimp, and plenty of mushrooms. And the Penang Curry (ordered spicy) was so good I ate the whole thing. They've got a pretty big menu, with average prices around $8-11 for an entree (with seafood dishes being closer to $12-15).

Stop me if you've heard this one before (you should have, because i've written it before about other davis-area places): My normal running route goes past Yummy, and i've looked inside the small, quaint little restaurant many times, but was never compelled to stop in. That ended this past saturday, when the girlfriend and i were both in the mood for something asian. A quick yelp search later we were headed out the door to Yummy, which i described as "that small little place i run by" - trusting the collective intelligence of my fellow yelpers. We walked in and saw two parties enjoying dinner on the right, and a woman waiting for her take out order. Yummy is a very small space (~7 tables), so we just took a seat and a waited a minute or two for our waiter to arrive with menus and a smile. The girlfriend, slightly more versed in thai cuisine than myself (a near-newbie), helped guide me towards something i would like (Pad See Ew) and we decided to split some fresh rolls as an appetizer. The fresh rolls came out in what seemed like seconds, and we quickly devoured them w/ the accompanying peanut(?) sauce. A short time later, i was greeted by a heaping plate of Pad See Ew, which i made a dent in, but ultimately decided that my appetite was not enough to polish off the complete plate. I'm counting the hours until lunch today so i can attack the leftovers. One last thing - i went out on a limb and ordered the Thai iced tea - i'm not a usual tea drinker, and wasn't really sure what i was getting myself into. I was very pleasantly surprised - it might have just been the sugar content and my lack of a taste for tea, but it was a really unique flavor that i thoroughly enjoyed.

I wanna give this place 5 stars for the food alone!! But because those of you who would possibly be mislead while looking for the 5 star experience, I'll keep it at a 4. It's more of a whole in the wall type place, with really really good food, which is what I prefer. We had some Crab Lagoons (AKA Rangoons), Drunken Noodles, Chili Duck and something else on a shared table. Everything was outstanding! This place is a great find, and you'll be coming back to try other items off the menu, I guarantee it. And, the prices are very reasonable, especially for the Cambridge area.... Get your butt to Yummy Thai Cuisine.

First time visit - opened three days ago. Thai oriented cuisine. House filled Dumplings ($5.50) for five. Filled with a light and fluffy chicken vegetable mixture. Pan fried, large sized dumplings. Thin dumpling cover. Served with a soy sauce although it is more of a sweet and sour sauce than soy. The Siam Yummy is deep fried duck pieces served with steamed carrots, broccoli, baby corn and a sweet chili sauce. The win here is the sauce as it has a rich flavor and good texture including scallions and chilis. Sweet with a slight spice to it. Unfortunately, the duck is not as tender and jucilicious as it should be due to frying. Prices have definitely come up from the last place, Pho House, which is unfortunate because the same meal I always ordered that used to cost $14 was now about $25 including a tip, which I always leave even for takeout. All of the dinner entrees are $12.95 to $15.95 and don't include rice depending on what you order. Cute but not tons of atmosphere at this place since it is a kitchen in back with tables up front but a good place due to proximity to Davis square, easy access by public transportation (77 bus stops in front) and readily available street parking. Mos def will be back to try the rest of their menu that includes soup entrees, salads, rice dishes and tons of other standard Thai fare. Late hours, 11pm 7 days, delivery.

Worst green curry I have ever had. Summer rolls had a piece of shrimp that was about the size of my pinky fingernail. But that curry, so disappointing! It tasted like it had BUTTER in the sauce....probably not real butter, but still .... not even much of a coconut flavor in the sauce. Strange. Would not order again.

This is a pretty chill, laid-back local neighborhood Thai place with only about 7 to 10 tables. The service was fine and the food was fairly delicious, with relatively low prices by Cambridge standards. The pad thai tasted balanced between sweet and salty, not too spicy, with a good dollop of peanuts, but not too many. The bite of the noodles was not soggy, but also not too crunchy, which is how I find most pad thai dishes. The tod mun (fish cake) appetizer was smaller size than I had anticipated, but fairly tasty and fried well. One feels pretty good about themselves coming out of the restaurant, feeling fairly sated. Credit card min. $15.

I recently got Yummy Thai delivered to me and it was totally disappointing. We ordered the tofu and veggie soup as well as the duck pad Thai. The soup was under seasoned but ok I guess, nothing special. The pad Thai was kind of pitiful. The noodles didn't seem like pad Thai noodles and there was absolutely no flavor or seasoning at all throughout the whole dish. The only good part of the plate was the duck, but the rest was totally subpar.

A tiny restaurant with a massive menu. It is one of those multi-page numbered menus, listing over 150 entrees (over 200 items if you include appetizers and desserts). This means I never try the same meal twice, with so many options! Have dined there four times, which means I've only sampled half of their curry dishes. All excellent so far. I wondered how they can make a profit in such a small space, but then I noticed the steady stream of customers picking up their takeout orders. I'll be back for curry #5 !!!

Amazing Thai food that tastes authentic Thai. They just reopened with new owner. The place is nice and cozy.

Horrible and fraudulent. Went out of their way not to give me the food that I delivered and paid for, so I went out of my way to leave a poor review. They said they reached out but I have the call log to prove that they did not. (Below - order made at approximately 9) Also cancelled without bothering to ring my door bell even though delivery instructions were given. I was waiting by the phone and my door bell the whole time. On top of that they sent a message blaming me and canceling my order without refund. I'd recommend trying a restaurant that won't try to scam you out of your food.

Yummy Thai is some of the best food I have ever eaten. I order delivery often and it always arrives hot and perfect. My favorite is the pad thai, they use thinner noodles than I am used to in a pad thai, and it is delicious. The basil pad thai is also top notch- a little spicy but so flavorful. Definitely order from here if you are in the Somerville/ Cambridge area!

If anything they should take "yummy" out of their name. We decided to get Thai for takeout and selected this place out of the encouraging reviews. I don't know if their cook left or was in a bad mood, but this was a sorry disappointment. Do not eat here. They have a bunch of "recommended" items on the menu that we made the mistake of ordering. We had fried duck (came cold and dry), beef (we had to throw it away, funny, suspicious flavor), cucumber salad (open a kraft honey mustard dressing and pour it in shredded soggy vegetables, yuck), pad Thai (greasy and bland), and summer mango rolls (came apart immediately). Do yourself a favor and walk to So Dee (by Porter Sq) instead. Similar prices and tremendously superior food.

I wish I could give more than five stars. The authentic Thai food is the one that I am looking for in every Thai restaurant. Papaya Salad is the best in Boston , service is like home. Highly recommended this restaurant

I had a crab fried rice with extra shrimp ($3.00). There were only two smallish shelled shrimps! $1.50 per shrimp. Hope other customers don't make the same mistake as mine.

I rarely leave bad reviews but this one is deserved. When I arrived, no one greeted me in any way. They have the back set up with a curtain so they can barely see out but I sat on the side they COULD see and still no one came. Looked over menu. No one. They are chatting nonstop. Tried to make eye contact for a full two minutes before finding someone. Placed my order and she didn't bring my drink. She brought my soup and still no drink. I yelled excuse me but they couldn't hear me over their CONSTANT talking. I had to get up and go to the counter to ask for my drink. The water tasted sour. It's no good. The green pepper in my curry was sour too. The massamam curry was SO bland. Thai food is my favorite because of the spice and it was bland bland bland. I asked for brown rice. They brought white. Almost everything I ordered was prepared in a microwave. The Tom Yum soup was microwave scorching and they leave the shells on the shrimp so you burn the shit out of your fingers. Trying to do that, I ended up spilling the soup all over myself. They were too busy TALKING to notice. Had to go ask for napkins. Do not go here. Do not.

My boyfriend and I ordered takeout and after nearly finishing our meals, I found a large, dead maggot (a little over an inch long) floating in my choo chee curry. We will not be ordering from here again.
