While waiting for my sister at Holborn station, I stumbled upon a small matcha shop tucked quietly beside the entrance called Yumtea. Drawn in by curiosity, I stepped inside and was immediately transported. It reminded me of the charming little cafés I came across in Japan. Intimate, calm, and quietly inviting, it felt like a hidden pause in the middle of a busy city.
I ordered an iced tiramisu matcha and was genuinely taken aback by how exceptional it was. Without hesitation, it was one of the best matcha drinks I have had in London. Smooth, perfectly balanced, and beautifully layered, the sweetness was subtle and refined, allowing the depth of the matcha to shine through. It tasted strikingly similar to the matcha I enjoyed in Japan, which is no small compliment.
Every sip felt thoughtful and precise, indulgent without being overpowering. It was not just delicious, it was memorable.
I am already searching for an excuse to find myself back in the area, just so I can return and order it again. A small discovery that made a lasting impression. 🍵✨
