Very nice authentic Japanese restaurant! Glad to have joined the queue and lucky to have allocated a table sitting. This place seems to be operated by all ladies:) and they were very helpful in suggesting what we should order. The recommended was the all time favorite set for 2 which came in 9 small dishes (including a fish) was indeed enough for both of us. The set cost around 3900yen very reasonable! Join the queue if you are not too hungry as Japanese are very considerate, the queue moves fairly fast!

Amazing unagi with very friendly staff. They took so many photos of us outside their shop as it briefly snowed for an hour when we visited. Food is good of course. We enjoyed the fried unagi bones.

Google
Traditional Okinawa cuisine at a very reasonably price. We had the set menu which covers fried fish to tofu to fatty pork. We added Okinawa soba, squid ink pasta, and bitter melon gourd - all delicious.

Amazing local cuisine, loved it. It is popular though, and so there is a decent wait time. But, worth every minute spent waiting to get in 😀!

Google
One of the best Japan cuisine restaurant in Okinawa. Always line up and no reservation. Worth to queue as many locals will come too.

Google
Wonderful izakay that serves various kinds of Okinawa local cuisines, all comes with high quality! Located nearby the main street, probably the best local dining experience in Okinawa, all dishes are unique and special, and delicious for sure! The vibe is great too, whether it’s for family or friends gathering, or just a casual dinner with your partner. Worth to try if you are around Okinawa!

Yelp
Yes, the other reviewers are correct - this place offers legit Okinawa dishes at a fair price! From the goya champu, to the gurukun kara-ge (fried fish), squid ink yakisoba, sweet jimami tofu, and Miyako soba - it's all good! The English menu with pictures make it really easy for foreigners to order. Clearly the word is out about this place so the line can be LONG during peak dinner time (think 30-60+ minute wait). Definitely try to get there before or right at opening, or later in the evening after the dinner rush. Also FYI: they are Cash Only, and require minimum 1 dish ordered per person.

Yelp
This place was such a great find. I did a search on Foursquare and this place was very highly rated. The restaurant is very small and very no frills but gets really busy and is really popular, so go early. The best way to describe this place is Japanese grandmother comfort food. This was probably my favorite meal in Okinawa. Also, there is a English menu with pictures and they are cash only. The food: Go-ya Champloo- Tofu, egg go-ya and pork. Go-ya, which is a bitter melon, is found all throughout Okiniawa and the version here was excellent. The melon was perfectly cooked with a slight crunch and it was not as bitter as the other varieties of bitter melon I have had. This was my fav dish and must be ordered. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=zmD0sLSiH8_jQcQ2B5RRiA&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA So-ki Bone- Spare ribs in soy. This was my second fav dish, the spareribs were cooked perfectly and the meat was so tender. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=UZDBaSDhazDnVHX7sGsljg&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Gurukun Karage- Deep fried fish. The fish was perfectly fried and it is odd to say but the fish almost tasted healthy. It was cooked in such a way that it didn't taste heavy and fried. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=M4HNDarZ-65M0hmCRQXmzQ&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Rafute- Miso pork belly. The pork belly was tender but I was not so in love with the sauce since it came off too sweet. Also, there is a huge cap of fat right on top that you should take some off. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=afHeNGMGYkLOeMYkcgWFMw&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Sea Grape- This is a very Okinawan dish and I thought it was just OK, you add lemon and then dip in sauce, I thought it had a nice pop and the crunch was interesting but I thought it was too salty. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=YODDmgvvvHtmb2uxY43njg&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Ikasumi Juicy- Squid ink Risotto. This dish was one of the ones I saw most online and it was kinda too basic for me. The risotto was interesting but it didn't offer much flavor. I would skip this. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=KF-jTyqahBUCGf3DFXACsg&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA

Yelp
We read several other reviews from various sites and all say that this place is the real deal for authentic Okinawan food. It did not disappoint. There was a line when we arrived but it moved quickly. There is an English menu with pictures so no worries. Word has gotten out because there were quite a few non-Japanese dining here as well. The pork dishes here are the highlights. The pork spareribs and the pork rafute were my absolute favorites here. Very soft, tender and savory. You can also try seasnake here - irabu. I wanted to try it, just to try it. It's dried seasnake that is rehydrated and put into a broth. A little dry and chewy and a lot of bones. It had a dried, fishy sort of texture and taste. Also try the mimiga which is pork ears fried with beansprouts - tasted like cartilage. We also had a platter of sea grapes, which is apparently a thing here in Okinawa. We also had some squid ink risotto, which was savory. We also had a serviing of awamori, which packed quite a punch. You can also try a serving of habushu, which is snake wine. It was sweeter than I imagined, not what I expected. We shared 1 serving as that thing was quite expensive.

Yelp
i was literally on my way to the airport but I wanted to eat Okinawa soba one last time because of the reviews. Perhaps I should have been more specific like request Soki soba but what I got was a very mediocre soba dish. There was fried egg added as a topping on my soba. I don't know whether that was an after thought to make the dish more interesting but I will definitely be back to try other dishes but will stay away from Okinawa soka. Service was excellent otherwise.

Yelp
AMAZING!!! I had Set B, and everything was amazing. This place executes everything perfect. Including an English menu that tells you about all the Okinawan specialties. I've never tasted anything like any of the dishes, but they were explained to me via menu, and they all tasted great. There was a little bit of a wait, as this place is tiny ! Champuru - I had the one with pork, and I didn't want it to end. a mixture of crunchy and chewy textures, with bits of pork and flavoring here and there. tasted very good. Rafute - pork dosh with miso. very tender pork that melted in my mouth, with a delicious sauce. Mimiga - pig ears made with vinegar, I didn't think I would like this, but it was only slightly weird, haha. the flavor drowned out whatever weird texture there was. Jimami tofu - sweet tofu made with peanuts; the tofu itself didn't have too much of a taste, but it was smooth and silky, and went well with the sauce. Inamuruchi - miso soup with pork and fish paste; great miso Kelp salad - tasted great. just enough saltiness. I also tried the habu (snake) sake. It was great, smooth, not too much aftertaste and went down easy. expensive, but worth a try! If I had more time in Naha, I would come back here.

Yelp
OMG!! This place is awesome!! They don't really have an English menu, but they tried their best to make one with photos, and explain their famous dishes in details. ラフテー: Rafute, pork rib in soy sauce and sugar. It is amazing good. I thought it will be very greasy, but it is NOT. ゴーヤチャンプル: Goya Chanpuru, stir fried bitter melon with eggs and pork. I don't like bitter melon, cuz it taste bitter!! BUT, the bitter melon in Okinawa has no bitter taste, and I quite enjoy it. フーチャンプルー: Fu Chanpuru, stir fried wheat starch with local vegetable. Okinawa has its own wheat starch, called 車麩. I have no clue what it's called in English. However, they will show you the 車麩 when they explain their menu. And it tastes good too. This is a must-go restaurant in Naha, Okinawa. The restaurant is small, so you will have to wait for seats.

Yelp
This was one of the better dinners we had in Okinawa on our trip. From the menu we ordered the rafute pork, pork spare ribs, sea grass, squid ink risotto, and snake soup. From the dishes, the pork dishes shine. The rafute was excellent. The tender pork belly braised in a miso sauce was divine. The real winner was the pork spare ribs. Slow cooked till tender, the meat fell off the bone. The bone was cooked thoroughly that it was soft enough to eat, which I did. The snake soup was the most disappointing dish. The broth was good, as it was pork based. But the snake itself was too boney. I could not get over the bones when eating the single piece of snake meat. Overall a good meal. No reservations, first some and sign up. The service was excellent.

Yelp
This place is amazing. It's service is quick, the food is inexpensive and authentically Okinawan. They have an English menu if you need one. There is a toll parking lot across the street. It is a cash only restaurant so bring yen!

Yelp
Definitely must try 9 dishes menu. Really delicious okinawan food. Very very tasty!! Excellent and quick service. The best three cooks women making homemade traditional food. Small warmy place worth the wait that is always less time than said.

Yelp
This place was fantastic. There is a wait even on weeknights so prepare ahead. We were 6th in line and waited about 20 minutes; but an hour would have been worth it. Most of the patrons - including those waiting - were locals. And there was just a single English menu but it had pictures and reasonably good descriptions. Two of us had 4 entrees as we thought portion sizes would be small. Sizes turned out to be reasonably large by Japanese standards and we were very content by the end. I don't recall the names of the dishes we got, but the pork belly was so good we got a second helping. The staff was very pleasant despite being extremely busy. Quarters were a bit tight and we ended up sitting at the bar. About 40% of the seating is on the floor, but there is a decent amount of chair seating available. The only drawback I could name is that they don't accept credit cards. Our bill (for food probably enough to feed 3 and a local beer ... Which was ... meh) came to 4,040. Not bad at all. I was thoroughly satisfied and definitely recommend this place for foreign visitors.

Yelp
Reviews around the web place this restaurant in the upper echelon of Okinawan dining, and they are well-deserved. It's just off of Kokusaidori (International Road). We arrived before dinner service began on a Monday. A Japanese couple was already waiting, and another couple arrived after us. Within 20 minutes of opening, the small restaurant was nearing full capacity (maybe 12 spots at the counter and 5 or 6 small tables). We ordered the Okinawa Soba Set, consisting of noodles, peanut tofu, pig ears, and a seaweed salad. Because of how busy it was, the staff was quick. Our meals arrived in full within 10 minutes. Soba noodles are a regional specialty and, to us, were more like udon. Delicious. While too thick and salty to finish, the broth tasted of years of tinkering. The tofu? It carried the essence of peanut, but this was intriguing in its doughy texture. Utilizing umi budou, or grape seaweed, the salad offered a tasty (if less memorable) note on the palate. The pig ears were a bit of a novelty for us, but their presentation included bean sprouts and a vinegary sauce that nicely complemented everything. Finally, I had a serving of habushu, a regional alcoholic beverage that includes a local type of pit viper in the process. At ¥1000, it was a tad pricey, but the relative uniqueness of it accounted for the cost. All in all, this place is well worth seeking.

Yelp
The food is really good here. As a native New Yorker I feel like I've tasted and experienced quality. I would have given 5 stars but they sold out of soba. Our wait at 6:30 was about 30 min but it was worth it. The staff were very accommodating as I only speak English. This place lived up to the hype. Looks are deceiving but the taste is outstanding!

Yelp
My husband and I ordered 5 different dishes, and all were so yummy. Service was excellent, and waitresses/cooks were friendly and thoughtful. We will be visiting Yuunangi again! I recommend to be there before the opening 5:30 pm because this place is popular and lined up with customers quickly. We were there at 5:24pm, and we were 5th group to be seated at opening.
