Yung Kee Restaurant - Review - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"“Pen15 is a reminder that kids who came of age in the late ’90s were too obsessed with making friends on AOL Instant Messenger and choosing AIM screen names (mine was surfsup7up). Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle play 13-year-old versions of themselves and deal with crushes, nosy siblings, and newfound urges to sit on a washing machine. This cringe comedy makes you constantly reminiscence about your early teen years - both the awkward and the great. For me, one of those great growing-up memories were the frequent family dinners at Yung Kee, a Chinese restaurant in Oakland Chinatown. We always got the large bowls of wonton soup (I still get it to this day). It comes with egg noodles and chives, and you should absolutely get it with the barbecued pork.” -LC We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

I was in Oakland Chinatown for a bazaar. Since it was during lunch time, I stopped in at this restaurant. So many choices on the menu. I ordered a dish that I haven't had in over 12 years. Eats: Shrimp and scrambled eggs over rice. It was yummy delicious. The portion was generous with at least 10 pieces of shrimp. Beverage: a pot of hot tea. Weather was cold. The freshly prepared food was comforting and soothing. Future visit? Yes, to try other items on the menu.

Google
The soups always hit at Yung Kee!!!! I always come here for the roasted duck soup with egg noodles, and this time did not disappoint. It’s simple but rich and delicious. My family’s favorite was the Wor Won Ton; it was filled with all kinds of delicious goodies including won ton, shrimp, chicken, Chinese sausage, squid, and bok choy. Super flavorful and filling. We also tried the Mixed Vegetables, which was alright but not a stand out. The atmosphere is casual and small business

Google
I love Yungkee. I have searched everywhere for the BBQ duck liver like theirs and it does not exist anywhere else but here. The duck is good, siuyuk is good and crispy skin, wonton mein is good. My dad’s favorite chowfun is here. The night staff are very friendly and funny! They are so kind and welcoming even if your chinese is terrible. They will treat you very well. Please dont leave Oakland Chinatown, it will be the saddest day of my life.

Google
I had the Won Ton & Barbecued Duck Noodle, where the combination of wonton, duck, and noodles was great. The broth was clear and didn’t leave that overly salty aftertaste. The Barbecued Duck Rice was also delicious, with tender duck that paired well with the rice. However, the Fried Cabbage fell short of expectations—it looked fried but tasted like boiled cabbage. Additionally, waiting 20 minutes for these simple dishes was a letdown. Yung Kee accepts cash only, so be prepared.

Dropped in while we were grocery shopping in Chinatown. Wonton noodle soup was excellent especially for the price, spare ribs with bell peppers and black bean sauce over rice was also quite good. Servers were nice and attentive, would come back!

Google
Chinese bbq diner (few tables) w great wonton noodle w roast duck, clay pot was good and Singapore fried rice noodle needed more curry kick. Pleasant staff/service. Natural AC, grease slick floors.

Tasty Cantonese restaurant. Tasty Wan Tan noodles with Char Siu. Friendly staff.

Came here after being let down by yet another hot pot restaurant getting induction cooktops (dangerous for pacemakers) and had a really lovely meal with my partner. The seafood soup was really good and the duck was amazing. 🦆 🍲 👌

Yelp
I walked by for lunch today and was surprised it was closed. Checking Yelp, it is confirmed. What a bummer - one of the few authentic, old school Chinese restaurants is gone. Thank you for the great food, feeding me at least twice a week post-COVID almost every single week.

Yelp
1/18/2025 Time: 3:30 PM 53° Cool, sunny Oakland Chinatown has its Chinese Lunar New Year Bazaar this weekend. After walking around to visit the many vendors, I decided to have lunch at Yung Kee on the corner of 9th & Webster Streets. One of my friends has dined here and recommended this restaurant for lunch. After perusing the menu, the choices were narrowed to chicken congee or shrimp and scrambled eggs over rice. The congee would have been good and the weather was cool. However, the last time I had shrimp and scrambled eggs over rice was at a Chinese restaurant in San Francisco near my job in the Civic Center area over 12 years ago. Eats: shrimp and scrambled eggs over rice and a pot of hot tea. Drizzled with some soy sauce, my dish was delicious. The hot tea was perfect, flavorful and soothing when I drank about 5 cups. This was total comfort food and beverage that I almost doze off in the restaurant. For $15, it was a good deal. The only drawback was one of the employees was mopping the floor when I was eating my lunch. I will return in the future to have lunch again. I might even order food to go for dinner.

Yelp
No frills, good Cantonese restaurant. Large menu selection and fast service. Favorite thing was the roast duck wonton noodle soup, but seems like you can't go wrong with anything on the menu

You can't go wrong@Yung Kee in Oakland Chinatown! My go to spot for a good meal!! Generous portions for $15!! Delicious! Family owned and service is always attentive

Yelp
Yung Kee has been around in Oakland Chinatown for decades. Pre-COVID it was also open late for dependable late night eats, however that hasn't been the case for a while. It's a nice family that runs it. Yung Kee has the classic Hong Kong/Cantonese restaurant. I've had their bbq (roast pork, bbq pork, roast duck, etc.) before over rice which has been tasty and not too salty. I've also had their noodles, including their Tomato Beef Pan Fried Noodles which are saucy and crispy at the same time. Their staff works hard and turns around orders within a reasonable timeframe. People get takeout and there is some seating inside. They used to have an upstairs, I hope their business grows back to being able to offer the upstairs.

Yelp
Over 30 years of wonderful memories... the Mongolian beef chow fun and won ton noodle soups after a hard night of drinking... I will miss you so much

Yelp
We were wanting to get some Chinese roast pork (pork belly) before we headed home, and we came across this shop and decided to give it a try. So we got about 1.5 pounds of their roast pork, which was quite delicious and tasty. Flavor was spot on, and the meat was pretty tender and juicy. The skin on the pork was still crunchy but, since we bought it at around 3 PM, it wasn't as crunchy as if we had bought it earlier in the day. But, regardless, it was still delicious. Price as of September of 2024 was either $16 or $17 per pound, I can't fully recall. So, I think the price was reasonable and decent.

Yelp
Good food but pricey for a hole in the wall spot in Oakland Chinatown. I came here for lunch Saturday afternoon around noon and expected it to be busy. Surprisingly it was almost empty with only one other diner. I seated myself as the sole employee in the restaurant didn't look up or acknowledge me as I walked in and stood around for ~30 seconds. No one else came out from the back either until a few minutes later. Menus were already placed at some of the tables, so I grabbed one to peruse. They have a huge selection of rice and noodle dishes. I went with the barbecue duck leg and wonton in noodle soup for $15.15. My noodle came out within 10 minutes, which was pretty quick. Both the duck leg and the wontons were delicious and the noodles have the springiness to them that I expected, so food was good. I just don't know if it's worth the price as after tax and tip it was close to $19 for the bowl. It initially didn't look like that much food, but I was stuffed by the time I finished eating and didn't get that hungry even around dinnertime, so portions are good here. While I was eating, a bunch of customers came in to buy their bbq duck and pork to go, among other things. It costs $35 for a whole duck, and both the bbq pork and roast pork costs ($15.95/lb) at the time of this review. I haven't bought bbq duck in a while, but man prices have really gone up! This is a hole in the wall spot. Tables looked and felt a bit sticky when I touched them. The menu looked dirty. So know what you're in for if you're planning to dine here.

Yelp
Preordered 3 items. Took way longer than the time they told me that it would be ready for pickup. This is a problem since parking is very limited to none in this area. I waited for an extra 20-30 minutes. The place is tình and does not look clean at all. This is why I ordered for take out. Anyways, one of the three items was a seafood combo chow mien. The squid cut outs were way undercooked and nearly raw. I almost threw up after chewing into it. This is completely unprofessional! I would not recommend this place!!!

Yelp
Yung kee has some good fried rice. Very tasteful. Very fulfilling. Their BBQ pork is mummy too. Well seasoned and great bbq taste. Looks can be deceiving but as a true helper and leaving reviews this place has good food. I haven't had any other menu items in awhile besides the fried rice and BBQ pork. But my other half likes the roasted pork. The lady and guy in the front are nice and kind. If you're looking for some good Chinese food give them a try. Like the portions that they give out too.

Yelp
Huge portions that'll definitely hit the spot. Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 5/5** Nothing fancy, but they're efficient. They seated a big group of us, got us all hot tea, and all our food came out within 20 minutes. **Price & portion, 5/5** All the rice plates were huge and piled with glistening BBQ. With most dishes priced at about $12 and the most expensive thing on the menu at $16.90, you'll definitely fill up and might even have enough rice to bring home for lunch the next day. **Taste of the food, 4.5/5** - Duck leg and wonton soup with wide noodles, 4.5/5: The broth was light but had great flavor and the wontons were juicy and packed full of meat. The duck leg was perfectly fatty, had phenomenal flavor, and was really well seasoned. The rice noodles themselves were just alright, so I'll probably go for a rice plate next time. - Duck and roast pork rice plate, 4.5/5: The duck was amazing, and chili oil added to the plate gave everything a savory and spicy kick. The roast pork was juicy and had great flavor but the skin wasn't crispy. **Other notes** Cash only. Free street parking in the evenings or a parking garage near the library that's only $3/hour and pretty safe. Hours on here might not be accurate so maybe call to check if they're open if you plan on coming after 6pm.

Yelp
I decided to explore Oakland Chinatown a bit more after discovering Shandong restaurant last week. This restaurant is another one that looks intimidating from the outside but has decent reviews. The inside is very small with very few seatings. I believe most people order to-go from here than actually dinning here. The restaurant takes cash only, which is very annoying since I rarely even carry wallet anymore after getting used to Apple Pay. Luckily I was prepared and had some cash on me. The food was alright but not outstanding. I was happy to find some exotic dishes that I couldn't find in other Chinese restaurants such as pig tongue. The fried rice was very oily and the noodle tasted instant. I probably won't return unless I want to to-go some exotic dishes.

Yelp
Reviewing again! My previous review needs to be redeemed! I love this place! It always bring back memories especially considering my mom went here while she was young. Their duck is always so juicy and flavorful. My go-to place for sure. At this point the owners knows our usual owners before asking us. Ask for their duck sauce while you're at it, it enhances the flavor even more!
google avatar

Lisa K.

Yelp
Did you also come here after seeing that tik tok/ig reel video about someone's mom being a restaurant owner for 30 years and her favorite restaurant in the bay is this place and she always orders the same dish: the wonton noodle soup with bbq duck and get a side of crispy pork?! I gotta say my expectations where way too high bc mom recs come with a lot of anticipation for me and I was honestly (sadly) disappointed by it. The wontons were really good and got a lot of bite to it but the noodles weren't my vibe and the broth comes out pretty much unseasoned (the table comes with condiments though so use them!). The bbq duck is fatty and yummy but for people unfamiliar with some Chinese bbq dishes be warned that it will be served room temperature. generous portions and price was around $12. We also ordered the chow mein and we were pleasantly surprised by it! Noodles were perfectly crispy and it comes with an assortment of meat ranging from pork, duck, and seafood. Sauce was delicious. Honestly we were too full to enjoy the pork but we took it home as leftovers and they were delicious the next day after popping them in the toaster oven. Ate it with some rice and ssamjang. Worth checking out but manage your expectations! And bring cash!

Yelp
Just like a lot of other recent posts, I tried this place out thanks to a TikTok video. Yes, I am easily influenced. But also, I don't feel bad about it. TikTok in many ways have brought more love and attention to places that deserve more business - and i.am.here.for.it! Anyways, I had the one dish mentioned - the noodles with bbq duck, wontons and thick wide rice noodles (called hor fun btw). Well actually, I had two forms of it - the other with the default wonton noodles. I can confirm that hor fun version is much better - neither noodles aren't anything fancy because it's just typical packaged noodles but the thick wide rice noodles carry the flavor better of the broth. Also, it's worth noting that I am not a duck person and debated on skipping the duck but you definitely can taste the duck in the broth and as a non-non-duck person, I found the broth and meat quite fitting! I got my food to-go and didn't think I compromised any flavor (but perhaps some of the noodle texture as it got quite soft). Note: If you do take out, they put the soup directly into the noodle (not separate) but they put that soup in when you come and pick up so it's not sitting in the noodles at least till you come! Overall, I found the broth very flavorful and the wontons very tasty. I also tried the BBQ pork which wasn't bad. I would probably come back and try other things!

Yelp
I came here after coming to Oakland Chinatown for the first time and wanting to go to a sit-down restaurant for some duck. We quickly got sat down, and they gave us some free chrysanthemum tea. It was what you would expect from other Chinese places - not too flavorful and good for cutting through some of the oiliness of the dishes. We got the BBQ pork fried rice and the barbecued duck and barbecued pork with rice. They were both delicious and super authentic. I really liked it that they weren't too oily and the meat was so soft and flavorful. The fried rice was one of the best fried rices I've had - taking a bite just made me eat more and more. They were kind enough to give us some small boxes and a bag for our leftovers. It does seem to be cash-only and I don't think they have an ATM, so be careful to be prepared ahead of time. I'd definitely come here again if I visit Chinatown again!
google avatar

Queena Z.

Yelp
I've always passed by this place whenever I go to Chinatown but never tried it until now. They have pretty good noodle soups and Chinese bbq meats. I tried their bbq duck and wonton noodle soup (got the ho fun noodles), green beans, and beef chow fun. All were very authentic. Their bbq duck was good in the noodle soup and even gave the soup some added flavors with the bbq taste. The wontons I thought were alright, not the best. Their beef chow fun was on the more oilier side. I know beef chow fun is usually oily but this one was extremely oily. You won't need lip gloss after the meal. It had the smoky wok flavor too. Their green beans were really good and flavorful. They were oily too but it was delicious. There's only one lady working as server and cashier so the service can be pretty slow especially during lunch hours. This place is CASH ONLY so be prepared.

Yelp
This place really hit the spot on a rainy day! Had a bowl of their duck and wonton soup w/ thick wide noodles would recommend getting duck breast instead of leg (really fatty) Wontons are thick and flavorful. Don't forget to add some chili oil! Will be back to try more things on the menu.
google avatar

M J.

Yelp
The Duck won! I searched and searched and there it was. As Expected. As promised. Will return asap.

Yelp
Apparently this place is an Oakland staple, and after trying it I can tell why. Yung Kee is a hole in the wall restaurant located in Oakland Chinatown and one of their must try's is the wonton soup with crispy duck . Everything about it was BOMB! The broth was rich and flavorful, the wontons were big and full, and the duck was melt in your mouth perfection with crispy crunchy skin that hit just right with every bite. Just keep in mind, this place IS cash only, but don't let that stop you from trying this delicious restaurant! A few things to note on a more serious note: it's street parking only so you'll most likely have to walk a little to get to this spot, but it's not so bad. And the reason why it's not 5 stars inspite of the amazing food? It felt like we got profiled. I went with my fiance and brother in law (both black) and my cousin and his wife (asian and white/latin). When my cousin went to order, they took his order and allowed him to sit back down. When my fiance ordered, they charged him right away (however, they didn't give him a receipt). He paid the gentleman that was working the front at the time. When we got up to leave, one of the female workers yelled for us to stop and that we needed to pay. And it wasn't until the guy we paid told her that she said "oh ok, have a good day". Bit of a downer to an otherwise delicious experience, but considering the over all experience I would still come back (unless this happened again).

Yelp
Great cheap eats! No thrills so don't expect much. Can't beat the price and the food is always consistent.
google avatar

Nancy P.

Yelp
Get the duck wonton soup and garlic mustard greens! Both so good! The wontons are flavorful and juicy. The mustard greens are fried with lots of garlicky goodness. Very casual dining. There is a one man running the show, taking your order, serving your food, and cleaning up. They also serve roast duck and chicken. Saw a lot of to go orders while we were there.
google avatar

Priscilla L.

Yelp
The food here feels like home. Got the wonton & barbecued duck with egg noodles, and requested gravy scrambled eggs with shrimp over rice. Free tea. Came on Sunday around 4pm and it was basically just us two sitting. Customers come in and out to order Chinese bbq to-go. Friendly service that feels like I'm visiting my aunty and uncle. Street parking which is free in the evenings and on Sundays. If you need some affordable Cantonese comfort food, come here and bring cash!
google avatar

Margaret W.

Yelp
THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE TAKE OUT ROAST DUCK ONLY Their duck is really good. Of course it's kinda greasy... but it's not overly fatty. The meat is lean and and not a lot of fat under the crispy skin. Try it. Again - we only did a take out for the duck and my family enjoyed it. Give it a try.
google avatar

Krista T.

Yelp
Call ahead to make sure they're open. We came at 6 and they said they were closing. Also, cash is king here. Food is always delicious and they're very kind, we got lucky they said they would make our food even though they were closing. I noticed a sign saying they have seating upstairs so it's possible to bring a group I would just call ahead to make sure. 510-839-2010 is on the menu!
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
Delicious classic hole in the wall spot offering your usual cantonese dishes like barbecue pork and duck, congress, wonton and more. I loves how much preserved egg and pork they added in our congee, definitely more generous than most. For the prices I feel like this is one of the better value spots in Chinatown.
google avatar

Ryan T.

Yelp
My sister and I were in the Oakland Chinatown area and we're looking for something quick to eat, and we stumbled a upon this shop. This Chinese restaurant is a small shop that has few seatings for dine in, but does a lot of take out for their Chinese bbq. Their bbq seemed to be very popular based on the amount of people coming in and ordering it to go, but we decided to settle on some other dishes for the day. - Wonton Soup: Simple pork broth served with a generous amount of shrimp and pork wontons. Wontons itself had lot of filling and natural meaty flavor. Goes well with the clear soup, great for a cold rainy day - Yung Kee Chow Mein: Hong Kong Style chow mein where they deep fry the noodles and put the sauce over the noodles. The noodles were crispy and the sauce with the toppings paired well with it. Simple dish, yet very delicious - Beef Chow Fun: wasnt a big fan of it as the chow fun was very oily and there was really no flavor to the chow fun Overall, although we didn't get to try the bbq, the food we got to dine in was very delicious. Even though it wasn't anything amazing, the food was still really good and made you feel at home. Definitely would come back if I looking for another quick bite in Chinatown!

Yelp
Anytime I have cash and craving Chinese, I sometimes want to come here. When I actually do, it can be hit or miss when it comes to great food. But I do know that I'll always get at least good food. Today was a great food day. Decided to get the Singapore style mei fun and some mustard greens. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted fresh and exactly how they should. Even though it's cash only, I like how the price with tax rounds up perfectly.
google avatar

Lily C.

Yelp
It's a small hole in the wall spot that only accepts cash! I high recommend the duck wonton noodle soup. The broth is so good! The rest of the dishes we got were ok. This place also sells bbq duck, pork to go. Definitely want to go back and try those.
google avatar

Norma L.

Yelp
Had some donations to drop off at Salvation Army and been craving some wonton soup here. Specifically the wonton with duck and rice noodles. This a nostalgia place as me and the coworkers when I worked Corporate had long hours, would pick food up from here. It only took me 3 drive around to get a park in Chinatown. It was refreshing to see people still packing this place. Ordered my soup and some mixed vegetables and rock cod with veggies for my guy. They aren't heavily staffed so it took a bit, but the results are still good. Sorry was so excited that when I got home scarfed it down. The rock cod was fried but not crispy and looked like it was sautéed with the veggies. 20 some years later and the flavor is still consistent. I don't know if they still have upstairs for dinner but at least get something to go.
google avatar

Jillian N.

Yelp
Their roasted duck wonton soup is soooo good! Wontons are very flavorful and fresh and the white noodles with it is amazing. The broth is also tasty :) not too strong but great for a cold day! Service was normal, you go in and order to go or sit in and it was about a 20 min wait to get our food. The ambiance was a normal Chinatown restaurant. Not the cleanest but clean enough for me to feel comfortable eating there!
google avatar

Terry P.

Yelp
Someone should change the hours on Yelp--they close at 6pm everyday as of July 2022. Hole in the wall restaurant like most others in China Town--no ambiance or whatsoever. This place serves flavorful authentic Cantonese rice/noodle dishes and BBQ that used to be quick and cheap, but inflation in 2022 has raised the price by at least 20%...still not bad though if you consider the portion! Cash only. Whole roast duck is $28 now and half is $15, still juicy with crispy skin--they're probably the best if you go mid-day, I wouldn't order any BBQ towards closing. Rice and noodle dishes are what I like the best from this place, ranging from Singaporean noodle to beef chow fun to salty fish fried rice to minced beef over rice. Oh the portion: they fill the container to the brim! Menus on Yelp are old so here are some pictures with updated prices.
google avatar

Tannia O.

Yelp
Good find to my surprise. Looking for a quick bite on the go. Tried their fried rice and beef tomato. Both portions were generous and the taste was on point. Just a note, be sure to bring $$ it's cash only. Will be stopping by to try other goodies.

Yelp
{Covid-19 Review} Yung Kee is open in the daytime! I got a whole roast duck for $23. chopped up. As soon as I arrived, a bunch of other customers showed up and there was a line out the door. The counter has a plastic shield like a sneeze guard. The tables are setup for takeout only. The roast duck wasn't very salty. It had a nice flavor. Not bad for $23. They said they cook the ducks there. I kind of miss stopping here after work for a quick order of Wor Won Ton or Beef Chow Fun. I hope when the shelter in place is done, maybe they can resume normal hours.

Jannelie A.

Yelp
No lunch options available Waited 30+ mins after placing a phone order Ordered honey prawns & fried rice flavor was so blah and I ended up paying $30+ single they're individual servings. Panda has better testing Chinese food

Yelp
Got the iconic bbq pork wonton noodle soup and they know what they're doing, they've been doing for years!

Yelp
Came here to eat on our lunch break just to try the Roasted duck wonton soup. Perfect day to have it since it was raining and cold outside. Broth was delicious, tasted nice and clean, not like some places that taste oily. Was kind of busy but worth the little wait. Make sure to bring cash because they don't take card. Great little hole in the wall place. Will come here again

Yelp
We came here after we saw a great review in them on TikTok. My husband couldn't wait to try the duck soup and said it was great. He really like the eggy taste of the broth. I got the wonton soup which came with ALOT of wontons. They have a bit of a cinnamon flavor to the pork inside and were very good. I wasn't a huge fan of the oyster sauce noodles because it had too much sauce on them and it made it almost too salty to eat. I would have liked it a little more if it came with bok choy as well. This place is cash only so keep that in mind.

Yelp
Heard about this gem from a TikTok video my friend sent me. OPs moms had been a Chinese restaurant owner for 30 yrs and her favorite place to eat in the bay was Yung Kee. She always got one dish, the wonton soup with barbecued duck and noodles. That was the pitch and I was sold. My friends and I looked on Yelp and saw some elite Yelpers mentioning the TikTok, saying it was overhyped and that the duck wonton soup was "unseasoned." Everyone's entitled to their own opinion but my friend and I thought it was damn good. We ordered the pork and preserved egg congee 皮蛋瘦肉粥, the TikTok dish (wonton soup with barbecued duck and noodles) 混沌烤鸭面汤, and an extra plate of barbecue duck on the side 烤鸭. The duck was fatty and delicious and the soup was fantastic. I did like the soup more with a bit of extra salt and white pepper in it, but everyone's palette for salt is different. It had its own flavor which was probably a little more subtle than some people are used to, but the dish is not meant to have an overly flavorful broth. It's not ramen or pho, it's wonton soup. It's supposed to be light. It's meant to accentuate and complement the duck which is bursting with flavor and fat. It was a perfect amount of food for 3 people and all for $43 including tip. Don't expect to eat off the tables, it's an OG spot in Chinatown. Tailor your expectations of the vibe accordingly (cash only too) but the service was great and the food itself absolutely slapped.

Yelp
Ordered Wonton Soup for a quick light lunch. Always generous portion & yummy! Recommend to call ahead of time.

Yelp
One of my favorite Chinese restaurants ! There wonton soup with roasted duck and the thin noodles is by far my favorite thing on the menu, during the winter times I find my self going there at least once a week, it's a bit of a hole in the wall but no complaints there as long as the food is great I'll keep coming back

Yelp
Yung Kee is a neighborhood GEM. They have one of the best rice dishes here and never disappoint. PROS -fresh selection of duck, chicken, and bbq pork -good ready made beef stew to order -the beef in their rice plates are good and taste the best compared to Gold Medal restaurant (chewy & tough) -fresh wonton noodle soups -best rice dishes here!!! -best place for take out orders CONS -few times they got my take out order wrong, but glad it was something I liked.

Yelp
One of the few places that you can find in the Chinatown area that is open late. The place is not that large and can easily be packed. We came here looking for some late night snacks. It's tough as they ran out of some of the items I wanted to order (chow fun, congee, bbq pork). We were able to order the half soy chicken and roast pork, bbq pork fried rice, beef with vegetables, and a beef chow mein (which took the longest to come out as they almost forgot to make it). The food was not bad and definitely did its job to help fill us up with some carbs and protein. Its good to remember not to expect a high level of customer service. It is also important to remember that this place is cash only.

Yelp
haven't been here in years. guessing my review aged...unsure if absence was due to food or lack of parking, or there's just so many food options now. my go to eats was the beef chow fun, wor won ton, and the bbq meats at the counter. *btw. eyeball the bbq meats from outside before going in. no need to waste the server's time while u make up ur mind. if the bbq meats don't look "fresh", just walk away this is a very small space. take out may be the only option. the hours are obviously not correct. their English may not be great. just point to what u want....

Yelp
Never been here? Just walked by it? Don't just admire the glistening roast ducks, ribs, and chickens hanging in the window.... step on in!! This ain't your spic n span, white tablecloth kinda place, the menus are old and worn, with lots of handwritten changes and odd spellings. But you're here for the food, right? Rice plates, with your choice of meat, fantastic won ton soup, with or without noodles, excellent chow mein and chow fun, lots of items you won't find on other menus, like shrimp and eggs over rice, and your choice of a wide variety of organ meats!!

Yelp
I have been going this down to earth eatery for over 20 years. Food is fresh and delicious. Owners are very friendly and polite. No complaints whatsoever.

Yelp
My absolute go to place for wonton noodles, salt and pepper ribs, and beef chow fun! Those are my top 3 dishes there! If you love any of those food, you must stop by to grab you some from here! It's the best! They're always friendly! After a few times they already recognize me and my voice right away when I order on the phone.

Yelp
I've gone here a couple times and it's never disappointed! You know a place is good when you see a man sitting there making homemade dumplings while you wait for your order. On top of that, the calamari is always tender. Their wor wonton soup is a MUST. Remember it's cash only

Yelp
A great wonton soup! This place is tiny and super old school, but the flavors were amazing. My husband is super picky in regards to wontons and he inhaled these. I would probably order to go next time as the ambience isn't really there, but I would def give them a try!
