"The theme is ‘Japanese Italian’: the cuisine of Italy with elements of Japan. Chef Yamamoto keeps the focus on domestic ingredients. Sea bream, conger eel and onions are sourced from Awajishima; as his roots lie in Hyogo Prefecture. Based on the idea that as long as the finished dish has an Italian flair, he will even use black seven-spice mix. The restaurant’s name is an amalgam of the first letter of Yamamoto’s name plus ‘unico’, Italian for ‘unique’. From his unique culinary sensibilities springs a cuisine like no other." - Michelin Inspector

1.Vichyssoise:cold potato soup with green yuzu. It is so good and very fresh as a starter. 2. Yellowtail: Carpacio, dry meat and straw crunchy noddle. 3.Conger Eel: Hamo type of eel. No smell at all and crunchy, 4. Maitake mushroom with curry powder. So crunchy. 5. Hairy crab peanut: with the jelly and cawan mushi. It is ok but not my favourite since I dont like an egg. Rest of group, they like it. 6. Steamed bread Mortadella: so good very well balanced. To me this is the star 7. Tomato Burrata Fig:the tomato sauce was so fresh, well balanced with the cheese. The fig was fresh and sweet. I like it this dish 8. Sea bream , pie crust and cavia; clam sauce and champagne 9. Porcini: home made pasta catio e pepe, so good 10. Beef Onion:spicy miso , salt and 2 hours roasted. Very juicy and tender. This is the masterpiece 11.Muscat and mascarpone:tiramisu based with grape and ice cream in the middle. Very impressive, none of the dishes fail. Real michelin star 1 Price perperson 16500 yen Service very good and polite. Will come back again

This Italian-Japanese fusion restaurant in Kitasinchi area of Osaka offers great value for money with their course dinners. Dishes are expertly prepared showcasing the chef skills at cutting, frying, stewing, and even preparing its own mortadella and baking the bread. Attentive service with good level of English. Counter seating allows for more interaction with the kitchen. Portions are adequate and presentations simply elegant. Well deserved Michelin star as of 2024.

The food is good, but normal, the place it’s not nice and the thing that really bother us was the check, they charge us more than what it’s supose to be. I would not recommend the restaurant. You can eat much better anywhere with better ambiance and not felling they are stealing you. We were suppose to pay 120,000 yenes and we ended paying 134,000 from nowhere. Not

As a self-proclaimed food snob and passionate home cook, it’s rare that a dining experience truly impresses me. That said, our visit to YUNiCO was nothing short of exceptional—easily the best meal we’ve had in years. The menu, a masterful fusion of Italian and Japanese cuisine, was both inventive and flawlessly executed, showcasing fresh ingredients and bold creativity. What truly elevated the evening, however, was the impeccable service led by Sho Ki San. His attention to detail and thoughtful explanations added a depth and warmth to the experience that made it unforgettable.
