Sushi｜Yurakucho Kakida｜Tokyo

Everyone was so kind! I shamefully didn’t know any Japanese, but the staff was so kind and adapted to English. Super thankful. And the food was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was also amazing, would go back again, no complaints at all

I don't know if any other clients have experienced what I did. Everything was fine at first—the food and drinks were delicious. But about 45 minutes after eating, I started to feel dizzy and my heart was racing. I paused for a moment and began to feel better. However, when I started eating again, the dizziness and racing heart came back. I stopped eating and decided not to continue with their main dishes. I skipped to dessert, and everything was fine. I have never felt this way before. I am a sushi lover and have never gotten sick after eating sushi anywhere else. This is strange!

My husband and I came here to celebrate our 15yr anniversary. From making a reservation to being seated to the food, our experience was next level. This is the best sushi I have ever had. The chef was interactive and kind. He made sure my husband and I knew what we were getting by speaking to us in English. I would do this again. Worth every penny. . . I mean yen.

This is quite an popular SNS restaurant. Although we are not served by Kakida san, but we have the very good chef serving us. And the room is not crowded so the environment is so nice. Food is great, and the free refill is really generous. Chef can also speak good English and he’s doing his best to talk to everyone and to take care of everyone’s need. We are having a good time and this is a nice experience. Will definitely go again.

A perfect Omakase! Absolutely delicious sushi, served in a very entertaining way in a really nice atmosphere. We had made our reservations to sit at the bar, and were therefore able to see up close and personal what the sushi chefs were preparing. Explanation was in Japanese and English, and delightfully entertaining. Our pre-teens also enjoyed it very much! Do make a reservation well in advance, especially if you want to sit at the bar to see the sushi-creation process. You can include a non-alcoholic or an alcohol drink package. The latter gives you an option to try 4 different kinds of sake, and refills if you want to. At the end of the dinner the different kinds of sushi are called off again, and you can tell the chef how many you would like to have of each. Do remember what you ordered though🙃🍣 We had a wonderful dinner and would return any time. Strongly recommended!

I didn’t take time to check the negative reviews and I should have done it. You should totally trust them. Food was average at best. Textures weren’t great, flavors were weak and there was no harmony in the courses. The meal was extremely rushed and courses kept coming even though we weren’t done with previous ones so meats got cold (otherwise we would have been mixing fish, beef and chicken). Everything was served in less than an hour. Servers are sweet but barely knew what they were serving. We got a piece of paper with courses description (picture below) and that felt both awkward and cheap. Price was ridiculously high for the service provided and you get charged an extra 1500 yen per person for regular water. Greedy management and a total scam. You are better off at a chain sushi restaurant.

The staff were extremely hospitable and made the experience very pleasant and enjoyable. The food was also of superb quality (this includes the refills). Definitely recommend it to anyone who's in for good quality sushi with a nice view overlooking the Shinjuku area and the JR station and don't mind paying a bit more.

"Not Worth the Hype — Disappointing Experience." I rarely leave negative reviews, but this visit was beyond frustrating. We waited over 1 hour before the main sushi arrive with no explanation or update from the staff. When the dishes finally arrived, the disappointment continued — the food was not great, lacked the freshness and flavor you'd expect from a Japanese restaurant. They didn’t provide any ginger to cleanse the palate, which is a basic and expected part of a sushi experience. For the price and the wait, we expected much better. Service was ok. There are far better Japanese restaurants out there that respect your time and taste buds. This was a letdown from start to finish. Would not recommend.
