Consistently great food here in Schaumburg and their other branches as well. Service is great and the space is big and pleasant. You can also watch the chefs cook your food in the kitchen behind the big glass! You’ll forget that this location is in a strip mall. Eat in or carry out. The next best thing if you can’t make it to Chinatown Chicago!

Update 2/2025 Excellent quality Chinese cuisine. Nice lunch special with many selections on the menu to meet all diets and restrictions! Update 8/3/2024 Old standby Chinese - can't go wrong. Always fresh and generous quantity on your entree's. Service is fast and friendly. Professional Chefs are their trademark. Yumsville !! ————— Update 3/20/23: We’ve been coming here for over 15 years. Food and service have had its good and not so good times but, it has picked back up significantly as of this review. The dining rooms need a little bit of renovating as some booth seats are torn. They’ve gotten away from providing the thicker nicer Yu’s napkins and also don’t give you enough chili oil like they used to with your entrees. You have to request hot tea as it’s not automatically brought or suggested when ordering. It’s these little touches to dining at the old Yu’s that I miss a lot. They still make the plum sauce which is great with the egg rolls and crab rangoon. The egg drop soup is better than other places as it not only has tofu pieces but little baby shrimps too. It’s served piping hot to your table. The main entrees of walnut shrimp, Kung Pao chicken and Rainbow rice were all delicious with generous portions . Signature provincial flavors are delicious made by the team of professional chefs with over 100+ years of collective experience each with their unique food specializations! You really can’t go wrong here as all the food is consistent and you can watch them prepare your order. thru the glass. They make their own handmade noodles daily as well as offer some Korean dishes. Good location, great food and still one of the best Chinese in the burbs. ———— Yu's is still the great standby where quality remains the key ingredient to all the dishes. Carryouts have been great over the last 2 years and with dining out being back in full swing it's the best. Portions are great and we live that they now offer a take out large garlic chili sauce condiment. Everything from signature Walnut Shrimp to Kung Pao Chicken is still delicious! ———- Been coming here for years. Food is still very good but has gone down a little and has been under new management for some time now. Portions are still about the same maybe a little less but ingredients are fresh that they use in the dishes. Service was just ok. They got our order wrong and it took them awhile to bring out our appetizers. Plus, they didn’t bring all entrees to the table together. My husband had to wait awhile for his entree. Tea was luke warm not hot. Plus, one entree came to the table that none of us ordered and we had to tell them to take it back. A little disorganized with food and timing of bringing it. It was not busy so they should have been on top of things better.

I enjoyed the dinner, nice atmosphere, the food was the best Mandarin I had in the area. I had the Kung pao chicken good but a little dry. The orange beef was a little dry also. The curry chicken and the sweet and sour chicken were perfect. The service was decent but they didn't follow up with refills.

I’ve been going here for several years now and quality and service has gone down. I ordered a pick up for food and two bubble teas. when I went to pick up I also ordered an extra taro bubble tea with boba. My food was ready for pickup but that extra bubble tea took 20 minutes for them to make, almost the same amount of time it took for the food. Finally came back home and saw all three of the bubble teas have literally 5 tapioca pearls in each. I called and complained and they asked “does it have 5 tapiocas or none, which is it” I said what difference does it make there’s 5 in there and that’s basically nothing in it. They said there’s boba in ut. They said they have a measure that they always use, I told them no I’ve gone here for several years and the portions are more than 5 in each. They said to come back, I told them no that I didn’t wanna drive an extra 25 minutes back for it, but they didn’t do anything else to try and help, no compensation or refund. They were no help nor did they care about my issue with them.

This place was amazing! Fantastic service. We had several waiters during our lunch and they were articulate, attentive and fast! The kitchen staff works behind a huge window in the dining area. It’s cool you can see everything being made! Also there is a robot that brings your food out! As far as the food it’s some of the best in Chinese in Chicagoland

I have come here a few times, but it has been a while. I did an online order off their website, and I got charged right away because I saw the notification. I drove the 25 minutes there, and when I got there, they said they didn't have my order and that this had happened to others before. That the charge was pending, but an order didn't go through. The girls i had talked to were nice. They assured me that It won't post to my account. I will edit this if it doesn't. They told me if it does to contact them or my bank. So I have more work to do because their website doesn't work properly and is not very good for ordering. So I had to reorder pretty much and was told a 15 to 20 minute wait. It was very busy when I had arrived with many people waiting for their food or to dine in. About 5 minutes after I put my order in, it was pretty empty by the front. About 35 minutes went by before I actually received my food. What really bothers me is that they didn't seem to care too much that I had an additional charge, and they didn't really do anything to make it up to me. They had no problem with me having to wait the extra time since I had to reorder. I don't know if it was because they are young or just the restaurants policy. As you can see from other reviews, when they mess up, they don't fix anything or have any real customer service. When I finally got home, after almost 2 hours, only the noodles out of the 4 dishes were any good, and the food was cold as well. The biggest issue to me is customer service after the problems because that's how you get returning customers, and after this, I don't think we will order from here anymore. The food here is already quite pricey, and then all the additional problems with no real solution plus downgrade of what the food used to be.

I don't know WHAT happened to Yu's but the last two times I have really been horribly disappointed. EGG ROLLS: I ordered the vegetable egg rolls and they smell absolutely HORRIBLE. They smell like very old grease out of a drain, literally. I split one in half and it's not even cooked on the inside and has slimy appearance (see photos). This is even worse than the last time. The last time the egg rolls were just greasy but edible. This time they actually stink right through the bag and I gagged when I opened the bag. I swear on all things holy they LITERALLY smell like a grease trap. HOT & SOUR SOUP & CONDIMENTS: The hot and sour soup is ALWAYS good. I ESPECIALLY enjoy their jars of ginger and hot mustard (they absolutely ROCK and I literally have to have a jar of each in my fridge at all times). BEEF FRIED RICE: The beef fried rice is SHOCKING! I intended to feed my little dog the beef and myself the rice & veggies. She was all excited when I got home and I immediately opened it to get the beef out for her. The following picture shows how much beef was in the WHOLE $10.99 container! It is a bunch of rice with frozen peas and carrots and NOTHING else. No egg or scallion or anything but frozen (obviously) peas and carrots. I have never even SEEN beef fried rice with frozen peas and carrots! This is literally all that beef that is there and I literally scraped through every grain of rice with a fork. BTW: She was so excited when I got home and she eagerly awaited that plate. She sniffed the pieces of beef that I put in the plate and picked one up in her mouth and dropped it and walked off. She LOVES egg rolls and I offered her a bite thinking maybe it was just my nose. She stuck her head up into the air rather dramatically. It definitely wasn't my nose that's off. 😓 I need to also add that I never would have offered it to her if I thought she would have eaten it because I won't feed her anything that I wouldn't eat myself (yes, she is my little love and gets premium food and we ALWAYS dine together 🙂). I was kind of thinking that maybe my nose was just over sensitive but she confirmed that it was not. She ordinarily absolutely ADORES egg rolls. I only wish I took video of how she stuck her nose up at it. I will be ordering the hot and sour soup again and of course replenishing the ginger sauce and hot mustard but that's ALL.

Very good service and nice atmosphere! The Taiwanese noodle soup was spot on. It had one special ingredient I was craving for, which made me so happy. The soup was very rich and flavorful. The meat was so tender, it literally melts with every bites. The shrimp dumpling was ok.

Yelp
Such a fun experience! We started with the clam soup for 2. Clams were fresh and the broth was hot, seasoned well, and had great flavor. We got the spicy maypo tofu and the beef and scallops to share for the table. Both came with rice and had wonderful flavor. All the ingredients were fresh and cooked expertly. This place is lovely. I had a great meal here and will be back!

Yelp
Yu's use to be the best Chinese restaurant in the Schaumburg area. For the past 20 years I have been going there for special life events like my friend's wedding shower and my 18th birthday to name a few. Each and every time the food was high quality and tasty at an affordable price. Now it's not even a shadow of its former self. My family and I ordered 5 different dishes this week and they were all bland. The honey walnut shrimp which use to be the best honey walnut shrimp I ever had now taste bland like it was taken out of the freezer. What happened Yu's? I'm sad to see this place go down in quality. I see I'm not the only one who feels this way either. I went on a Friday night and it was barely 1/4 at capacity. Before I would have to wait for a table for at least 10 minutes and sometime even 30 minutes. Back then it was always worth the wait. Never thought I'd see the day this place would be this disappointing.

Michelle F.

Yelp
Always excellent quality food made fresh and served hot. Service is always great and food is served fast! Great place for lunch, dinner and meeting up with friends.

Joshua W.

Yelp
Very disappointed for our first time. We ordered takeout (~20 minutes away), and it wound up being about 10 minutes later than they stated. Not a big deal. But we get home and five items in a $100+ order are not there! They seal the bags so well you can't easily check them. They're (supposedly) giving us store credit, but I'm not sure I want to try again. It would have been better service to comp a meal or deliver the missing items, not make you even when you give them more business... The food was okay, by the way, but only as good as not having your entire meal you ordered...

Danielle D.

Yelp
Food is always good, service is always fast and I love the restaurant. I ordered to go last night. I love love love this food. Every time. Solid choice for food in the burbs.

Gina V.

Yelp
Yes I been coming here for years I love the food and the ambiance the cooks are all in front of you The service here went down the servers look like They are angry to the point they spill The hot Yea all over the table And Sis not wipe it out

Yelp
07/07/24 - After a day of shopping @ Woodfield mall we were hungry so we went to Yu's in Schaumburg for dinner. We just ate at the Yu's on Milwaukee in Wheeling about 2 weeks ago and found the food to be pretty good and the service exceptional. I have eaten at this location before (why no review?) & found both the food & service to be subpar and slow. We were seated & sat for a good 10 mins before our server came & took our order. Finally the 2 dishes we ordered came about 15 mins later. The Szechwan eggplant (which we loved at the Wheeling Yu's). This dish was subpar at the Schaumburg location & tasted like it was reheated. The other dish we ordered was the salt & pepper smelt which is one of my favorite Chinese dishes. Smelt is a small fish to begin with. The smelt we received were tasty but about 1/2 the size of the smelt we always order? I don't understand why? This smelt was served on a bed of lettuce which seemed like a filler to bulk up the serving size. Again I never had salt & pepper smelt on a bed of lettuce. The server started out as kind of sullen until later in the meal when it came time to pay & receive a tip lol ). I'm not sure why the drop in food & service quality as I have eaten here before & felt like it was better the last time. On a side note the washroom was filthy. Why isn't there a standard for hygiene? Not fit for human use. They need to have someone to maintain the cleanliness

Yelp
Yu's Mandarin was suggested by my Korean co-worker for jjajamyeon and jjampong and she wasn't wrong! Yu's Mandarin's jjajamyeon and jjampong are delicious, and the portions are generous. Also, Yu's Mandarin make their noodles in house! If you ask, you can get yellow pickled radishes, and onions with black bean paste on the house! Again, my review is only on those two dishes and nothing else.

Eugene B.

Yelp
It was a cold Sunday afternoon lunch. I'm glad there was no wait and we got a booth. The string beans was surprisingly favorable. Can't believe it was the most memorable dish.

Jason C.

Yelp
Service sucked on this day I visited. Ordered online as I wanted to get some lollipop chicken and also got a mushroom dish and hot n sour soup. The food is decent - depending on what you get but yeah don't bother with the hot n sour soup. The thing that's messed up.... Got a notification saying food was ready, got there and waited 5 minutes to talk to the person working the counter... was told the food wasn't ready. 30 minutes later I asked if the food was ready, he did a quick check and told me it's not ready. Well, as he was looking for other persons food, he found mine, sitting there getting cold for the last 30 minutes. No apologies nothing and they were nice enough to NOT give me any napkins or utensils!! The guy was more interested in picking up the phone and taking calls than helping the 8 or so folks waiting to pick up their food. They need another person to help out when it's busy.

Shuk A.

Yelp
Well yu's mandarin it's been a while but this is my go too Chinese place when I am in town. Place is still fantastic same inside and out for a long time still looks nice. Let's get to service came in a little later for lunch very attentive and quick service. Pricing on food is still very reasonable about 11 to 12 dollars a person. Food wise I ordered the garlic chicken fantastic flavor comes with fried rice, egg roll and fried wonton good portion for lunch. The person I was with got the Mongolian beef he enjoyed also. The lunch also comes with soup egg drop or hot sour both great. This place still in my top for Chinese you can't go wrong. Will be back soon.

Denise G.

Yelp
The food here is really good The workers were nice I would recommend The orange chicken And the white rice I love all the panting and Love the little kitty robots

Eric B.

Yelp
At all of Yu's locations, it's always fun to observe the wok mastery through a large kitchen window. Their combination lunch and dinner specials are a better deal than ordering a la carte. Lunch entrées, which average $10-$12, include a small egg roll, one wonton, fried rice, and a choice of soup or green salad. I ordered the chicken chow mein and barely finished half of the mountainous portion. The hot & sour soup was excellent. The accompanying egg roll and won ton were not quite as tasty. Like so many restaurants nowadays, Yu's is shorthanded and the servers appear harried. We had to flag down our server several times for items that should've been brought or replenished automatically. If you come here at a busy time, be prepared to wait as they do not take reservations. But Yu can cook!

happy c.

Yelp
Stopped in while in transit through this area. Food is solid but oh my place was notably dirty and waitstaff completely disappears. No one coming to take your order in a reasonable amount of time. Dirty salt and pepper shakers, tables, and wooden screen in front window that looks like it hasn't been dusted in the longest time. Hard to recommend.

Brian F.

Yelp
I'm old school. I've been coming to Yu's with my parents, since they were in the strip mall across the street, in a building that has since been torn down. I know ownership has flipped, but some key dishes have remained largely unchanged. Namely, the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, which was my go-to dish in the early 80's. Since then, there's been some modernization, some Korean influences and dishes, and even a robot going around to serve your food! Favorite dishes for me currently... Szechwan Eggplant, Noodle Soup (spicy!), and Noodle Platter (spicy!), and Salt and Pepper Smelt. Regarding service... this is a Chinese restaurant. You don't come for the service. They want to serve you quickly, so they try to get your order fast and then dishes come out as they're ready. This is not to say that anyone is rude, but don't expect someone to stop by every 5 minutes to ask you if everything is okay. Once you get that, you'll realize that coming to Yu's is about getting excellent food and relaxing with your family. I recommend coming with a big group and big appetites and ordering family style so that you can sample several dishes with several flavor profiles. The cost is higher than the divey Chinese counterparts, but the quality is worth it.

Selma L.

Yelp
We visited on Christmas Day and it was extremely busy. That being said, we were still able to be seated promptly. While it was difficult to get service (water refills order taken etc) the people here were apologetic, friendly and did eventually get everything taken care of. The portion sizes were big for us to share and take home. Our son enjoyed the "open" kitchen and watching chefs cook food. He also enjoyed seeing the "robot" delivery system. All of our food was to our liking. Some meat quality in certain dishes were better than in others, but still all acceptable. All things considered we were happy and would come back again!!

Raymond Y.

Yelp
I am a regular at this place. All of the dishes are consistently good. Most of the offerings are Cantonese, but other regions are represented as well. They have a limited, but excellent selection of dim sum. The service is usually good, unless the restaurant is crowded. A bonus is that the kitchen is within full view. This is the best Chinese restaurant in the area.

Cristel M.

Yelp
This location was fairly busy during a Friday night dinner visit, but we had no trouble getting a table. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken entree and really enjoyed it. My friend ordered beef noodles, but was initially served the wrong dish, so we had to wait a bit for them to bring what she ordered. We had planned to also order dessert, but never got the opportunity -- our server brought us our check without asking if we wanted anything else. There were several items on the menu that I'd like to try, so I'll be back at some point to sample more dishes and hopefully ice cream, as well!

Dan N.

Yelp
Since it's been 10 years since (how is that possible) I last reviewed Yu's it's time for an update. We have been coming here for close to 30 years! I said in my review 10 years ago that it may not be what it once was, I think more accurately that the competition from other Asian restaurants has just raised the bar. Yu's is still very very good, and I dont get here but a few times a year this trip really reminded me of that. Both my wife and I left thinking it was so good. Has it improved? maybe but we had a wonderful meal whatever the case. I usually get the noodle platter which I love, but since the weather has gotten colder and I noticed a table of older gentlemen all enjoying the Noodle soup I decided on that. It's really the noodle platter with soup and maybe a bit less seafood and vegetables. It's wonderfully spicy and warm like a big warm hug on a cold day, so comforting. It is also huge, so I had plenty to enjoy again later in the week. My wife got garlic chicken with I don't believe either of us had ever had before, it was really well done. That is one thing I will say is they do the classic american dishes so very well, my dad got mongolian beef and again is just a perfect version of that dish. When we go as a family we get the appetizer sampler, it's such a fun throwback. I never see or get shrimp toast but it is just fantastic, it also has spring rolls, crab rangoon, and beef and chicken on a stick. I need to get here more often, we had such an enjoyable time. They also now have a cute little robot that delivers food from the kitchen to the table so the wait staff doesn't have to leave the floor. The staff comes and takes the food from the robot and sets it on the table. Everyone was taking pictures of it, it's fun and i'm sure a big hit with the kids.

Peter C.

Yelp
We were a party of 8 recently. We have been coming for more than 20 years. No complaint with food. The problem are wait staff. The staff appeared to give us attitude which made our visit very unpleasant. One incident in particular involved with seating. 8 of us were sitting in a very tight table ( 2 tables put together ) and decided to grab a chair from one of empty adjacent empty table. Wait staff for some reason insisted that we could not do this and took the chair and put it back into empty table. 70 percent of tables were empty which just made no sense. In general just gave us very bad attitude and can see general bad reviews with service. Likely will just go to Chef Ping nearby in the future.

Tikku G.

Yelp
Chinese cuisine is my family's favorite and we always heard great things about Yu's so I was excited to finally try it. The servers are so nice and the service itself is fast and efficient. I was really pleased with the shrimp fried rice and garlic chicken entree. The soup was average but that's about what I expect from most restaurants. Overall, pretty solid food and great service.

Michelle W.

Yelp
I saw on Yelp that Yu's Mandarin has gluten option, but could not find such indication on their menu online. So we fist stopped at the front desk, and the host told us that just tell the wait staff, and they will tell us if the dish can be done. We were excited for the possibilities. So we decided to dine in. I like that you can see in the kitchen. It's always cool (maybe not for the chefs) to see the actions in the kitchen. However, it was a bit disappointing that all the dishes we were interested in were not able to be prepared for gluten free. So we opted for what stir fry pea pod tips and cashew chicken. They were OK. My rating is really based on the gluten free option, so perhaps Yelp could be clearer to avoid disappointment.

Sarrang P.

Yelp
Been here twice now and both times were very good and good service. My favorite foods here have to be the fried eggplant dish, the jajangmyun, and jjampong. They have a wide variety of options and mostly everything I've tried was all good. The resturant is pretty big and has lots of seating so it's great for families.

Dennis W.

Yelp
The food came out pretty good. I was very impressed by the fish, pan fried noodles, and lollipop chicken a lot. The squid and beef was over cooked. However, the service was a bit lacking... Quality- I like coming here for the broiled fish dishes and lollipop chicken. Both are so flavorful and compliment each other well with a bowl of rice. The hou fun and fried noodles are very good. You can really taste the wok hei from the chefs cooking and the textures go great together. Shrimp vegetable sauce dish also goes great with rice. I love the vegetable sauce they create because I can just layer it on top of crispy noodles or rice. I tried two new dishes today, the beef with scallops and the salt pepper squid. Both were over cooked and very salty. I was not a fan of those two. Quantity- what you see is about 150 bucks tips included and can feed a party of 7 people. It is not bad for the price. Atmosphere- I love the view of the chefs cooking. It never gets old. Service- when our party arrived, there were quite a few seats still available but it took a while to get the attention of someone to seat us. That's ok but then when we got seated, they were very slow to get us any tea and we had no refills because they kept forgetting. They also gave us the wrong check so we had to ask for the right one which added time to our stay. And then, we had to ask a few times for boxes to take home left overs. They're quite short staffed during peak dinner time.

Ruby Q.

Yelp
Great food. We had the crispy duck - wonderfully crispy and cooked perfectly. Also ordered the Deng Xiao Ping pork. Apparently the former Chairman likes things spicy, and so do I, but this dish just did not hit well (too vinegary?) its hard to say. The restaurant is clean, light and bright. The service is brusque and efficient - as you would expect from the purpose-driven Chinese. The dishes come out on a robot dish runner- which is kool and kitschy - just the right amount of AI - for now. Makes me wonder if ordering on your tablet is next. The price came in a lil high - $49 for lunch for two with water - but that is everything now

Remia S.

Yelp
I was there last Christmas and it was so busy. I usually like their food but that time, everything was rushed and the quality of food were not the same. Some of our orders came after we're done eating and after we made a follow up so many times.

Claire L.

Yelp
Yu's Mandarin has been a staple Chinese restaurant in the northern Chicagoland suburb area for many years. While they have gone through various owner/chef changes, which have resulted in ups and downs (in terms of the taste) over the years, I was surprised to find that after a recent visit to the restaurant that their noodle soup (jjampong) was still pretty decent. After all, the restaurant originally became well-known for its hand-pulled noodles (there even used to be noodle shows on the weekends long ago...), so it's good that the noodles they use still are freshly made (with a nice chew to them), along with a flavorful, spicy broth filled with sauteed vegetables and seafood. Their service is not that great though...the server we had didn't appear to be all that enthused to be working there, and was sort of abrupt in his responses to our questions/requests. Business isn't as good as it used to be (many years ago, you would see lines/crowds in the front lobby waiting to get a table for lunch, especially on the weekends), but now on a Sunday during lunch hour, a lot of tables are empty. Will think about coming back to try some of the other dishes on the menu - hopefully we won't be disappointed then.

Roger D.

Yelp
Not sure what happened to Yu's, but food is not good anymore. The noodle platter was bland and tasteless. The lemon chicken seemed like it was not fresh. Service was slow. They gave us crushed fortune cookie. Won't be back. Sad, because it used to be very good.

David A.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered through DoorDash and the food wasn't ready for over 2+ hours! I realize they are busy but if they are that busy they should not be accepting DD or other take out orders.

Brenda K.

Yelp
We came here for my mother-in-law's birthday! I was really disappointed with the food, especially the "peking" duck! The pieces were cut really thick and the pancakes we're just a plain flour tortilla (taste more like store brought)! We ordered cold beef shank (pieces sliced too thick), Sweet and sour pork, noodle platter (didn't have too much seafood, more veggies), stir fried crab with ginger and onions (this had a lot of flavor), Mongolian beef (beef was too dry), stir fried green beans (the best dish, had a lot of flavor and it was crunchy), snowpea tips (not very tender) and the beef with flat rice noodles (needed more flavor)! It took awhile before getting all our food and when we got it, the food was just luke warm. Maybe they have a new staff of chefs! Before the pandemic, as I remembered, everything were much better!

Monica S.

Yelp
Service was a bit slow But the food we ordered was great from Shuma, Kung pao chicken, steamed greens in oyster sauce were the best I have had. Fried scallops were also very delicious Ambiance is a bit chaotic and the robot seems to be more i the way than helpful

Wendy K.

Yelp
We've been their long term customer for decades, their quality of food is consistently good. We have several favorite dishes and sometimes we will order something new, and they rarely disappoint. Their service is usually really fast and prompt. After the pandemic, they have no hostess, so you just go and seat yourself unless they are real busy then you have to wait. They are our goto Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood.

Jeff F.

Yelp
Great Mongolian beef, not too spicy and very tender beef with large portions. Farmers plate had large quantity and variety of fresh vegetables. Egg rolls and Sashimi were excellent. Food and service are always top quality here.!

Tasty K.

Yelp
What could improve? They could close. Last time I stopped in, about 8:30p, the dining room was still half full. The host sat me at the bar after I said I was dining instead of picking up. The dirty bar topped with about 30 used glasses and menus thrown everywhere, obviously not even ready for a bar client. Then he disappeared in the back. Okay, Yu, you've convinced me. Bye.

Shar S.

Yelp
Love this place! Probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in Schaumburg. Shrimp fried rice, lollipop chicken, and honey walnut shrimp are always a hit. I have also hosted a party here before and they are very accommodating and super affordable family style.

Vicky A.

Yelp
Nothing can go wrong in this restaurant. We move to Lake in the Hills and still coming here. Food super delicious, excellent service. I'm in love with this place for few years already. Fish casserole is amazing. Chicken lollipops a must have, noodles with black beans and cucumber great everything is so fresh. Never disappointed. Going home happy, coming back happy I will recommend Scallops with beef & vegetables and shredded pork with green chives and bean Curd. Also noodle soup. Everyone who likes Chinese food will enjoy it

Yelp
Food is great, I live in the Las Vegas area now. Whenever I go back home to the Chicago area it's a must stop. My wife and granddaughter are there right now! We have been going there for over 20 years! Again great food!

Yelp
I've been coming to Yu's for over 20 years. After today, I will never go back. Service has deteriorated over the years. It was horrible today. I left without my food. I hate bad service. I hate lying even more. I was lied to multiple times then gaslighted by the young man at the front. I placed an online order. Don't order online. It doesn't provide an estimated time. I showed up 20 minutes after my order. When I arrived, I was told it would be 5-10 min. That's fine. I hear him telling people who called in their orders, it would be 30 minutes. About 30 minutes after I placed my order, I asked how much longer. He responds with 5 minutes. He proceeds to tell me it takes 35 minutes, why didn't he tell me that initially?? He responds with, "I told you shortly" in a very annoyed tone. I told him he told me 5-10 minutes. Given his tone and response, my patience ran out. I told him to cancel my order and to refund my money. After huffing and puffing, he told me I had to cancel it online. I knew there was no option to cancel it. He just didn't want to refund my money. I decided to go to the bar to ask someone else to help me. I explained what happened. He seemed to have understood me and told me he would take care of it. But he needed to go to the kitchen to cancel my order so they don't waste food. Fine. Then he comes back and tells me my food was going to be ready in 5 minutes. At this point, I'm mad. I told him again, I don't want the food. I just wanted my money. He was trying to manipulate me into taking and paying for the food. I kept telling him I just wanted a refund. He told me I was being rude. My voice was raised, but in my defense, I didn't appreciate the lies and manipulation. Anyway, finally I received the refund. And ironically, after all that, my food came out. I didn't take it. For the record, it was 40 minutes after I placed my order. All of the could have been avoided with an apology and respect. I would have waited. I do not put up with lying and disrespect.

Yelp
Yu's Mandarin was a childhood favorite with lots and lots of great memories with family and friends. I think it was really popular because of the quality of the food and the tasty options! Their Korean-Chinese food was one of the best in the area. Unfortunately, their quality and taste have gone downhill over the couple years. Recently, we ordered our usual favorites, like jjambbong, Mongolian beef, and mapo tofu, and they were not like before. The jjambbong was extremely disappointing overall and the quality of the beef in the Mongolian beef dish was really low and hard to chew. We are definitely not going back any longer due to the disappointing drop in quality.

Yelp
We have been coming to this place for almost 10 years. Love everything about it from the noodle show to the ambience and large selection on the menu.

Yelp
We have dined here many times. It's one of our favorites. Some of the food tonight was not as good as usual. The ping pork. Was very, very spicy. it's never been that way before. The Mongolian beef was very dry. The sesame chicken was perfection. I'm hoping it was just a fluke

Yelp
The food is spectacular. I had the spicy doodles and my partner had the sesame chicken. They gave big portions for the lunch specials. Food was phenomenal! Though the only thing I didn't like was that the servers felt like they were rushing us to order. Also we waited long to pay for the food. But other than that it was a great experience and I will definitely come back!

Yelp
NEVER order from here! They will give you the wrong food & make you bring it all they way back in order to get your $. Then they never actually credit your card!!! They steal the money instead!! The manager then avoids you so u can't reach him. Again so they can steal your money.

Yelp
I phoned order a Mu Shoo Pork, but received a Xiao Pin Pork. I called back they insisted that they took the correct order and said I was chaning my mind for my order. It seemed I made up the story. I was not even ask for exchange or coupon for compensation. The lady was keeping arguing with me. She even asked if I can speak Chinese (discremination? ). That's the typical Chinese resturant.. She treated you bad if you can Speak Chinese. Considering I have been the customer in this resturant for the past 35 years. They should imporve their customer service. The guy took the order need to take the training or admit the mistake he made. One more thing, be aware of that they wrote down your order habits subjectively which meant it is all the customer's faults. You've better make up your mind while ordering dishes. If you are in deciding the dishes and sized while ordering, they recorded you as "chaning your mind all the time". What a terrible customer sevice! Please check your note, have I returned your dishes ever? Terrible, terrible, and a really terrible customer service. In staed of arguing with your customer, you should imporve your customer service and reduce your mistakes. A very unsatisfied customer.

Yelp
What a fiasco. This place used to be good. Came back this year to a tacky robot bringing food out and approximately 4 servers for a slammed restaurant on a Saturday night. Floor is sticky, tables are sticky, service is HORRIBLE as well as outright rude. Our server came to take our order and never returned. When asking another server to get our waitress, we were ignored. We also asked the bartender directly for drinks and he said they'd be right out... never came. The food was not good. No Chinese spice or flavors at all, just salt. Loads and loads of salt. Kung pao beef was like salt cured beef chunks with extra salt served with saltwater rice... best food I had was the sweet and sour sauce....which comes out of a jug. Just a bad experience all around.

Yelp
I havent been to thos place for a long time. We celebrated my husband's bday. Reservation is easy. The table is ready when we came. Just slow in getting orders but understandable since shortage of workers nowadays so I am not taking star off. We order one of each. My favorite surprisingly is the eggplant entree. So yummy. Though everything we ordered was delicious. The price is affordable and the quality of good is superb!
