Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Yuu Tea in Columbia City is all about options. They’ve got matchas, smoothies, milk teas, coffee, and a lineup of bagels with tons of housemade cream cheese flavors. Vast selection of drinks ranging from a variety of outsourced Japanese matcha, Espresso based drinks (5 grouphead machines) and topping selection! The matcha brûlée was very good and my reccomendation if you stop by here. Big ceilings, wide open window lighting and real plants🌱🪴 is what immediately stuck out to me coming into this place. The area itself is kind of suspect, but walking in, it’s very comforting and it smells good🙂‍↔️. Kind of feels like I’m in one of those cafe’s in asia. The bagels are also vast in options, I can’t name ‘em all but there was at least 5-6+ types including a French toast bagel. There’s also so many options of cream cheese, the salmon spread which I had was very delish. Will come back to try the other flavors! I hope this place survives the area.🤟🏻

Google
The pistachio ricotta was delicious, especially with the outer layer of pistachios on the side. I also ordered the violet passion with normal sweetness which was also very good. Would probably order with less sweetness next time. My sibling ordered one of their milk teas with boba pearls and found that the pearls weren’t soft enough to chew. Other than that, service was very friendly and I would love to come back to try other pastries and drinks like their matcha.

Google
First timer at Yuu tea cafe and they did not disappoint! My pink smoothie was delicious, and I also got a cheddar & parsley bagel with their homemade whipped cream cheese. It was so yummy! The place is newer and very clean, and I’d definitely return to try out the variety of bagels and pastries they offer.

Google
Spacious, clean space with tables and chairs which are perfect for study or work. Parking is available. They have extended tea, coffee, matcha, and some items for breakfast. Tried their oolong and tin guen yin milk teas and both are sooo refreshing. If you like your milktea with a strong tea flavor, this is for you. The tea shop is serviced by a nice and friendly Vietnamese old lady. Definitely come back and support this cute little business.

Google
Great little boba place! We live near by and have been a few times already since they opened. Great variety of drinks and they were able to customize for my daughter. We have loved everything we’ve tasted so far. For food I’ve only ever had the bagels which were very good. But all the sweet and treats look delicious!! The staff are all really nice - super friendly and welcoming. We’ll be coming back often!

Google
I've visited 3 times now, and have had some hits and some misses. The cafe is modern and comfortable, and the employees have always been really friendly and helpful with the menu. Boba - both times I had it, it was overcooked. Queen matcha - unfortunately I couldn't drink it. It was oddly thick in texture, and very tart and vegetal. Apple peach tea - tea brewed too weak. Some tartness would have been nice. Thai tea - good Titan oolong milk tea - tea could have been stronger. Still enjoyed it though. Matcha lover - sweet and creamy. Not the strongest or most premium matcha, but I enjoyed it! Piña colada - tea brewed too weak, flavors pretty good otherwise. Egg waffle - good flavor, well cooked. Would prefer a bit lighter and chewier inside.

Google
We had a great time at Yuu Tea Cafe on our trip to Seattle! They are newly opened and deserve all the love! We took the suggestion of the owners son and tried the Vietnamese coconut coffee. This tasted like an almond joy in a cup and we returned the next day for the same thing! We also got a BEC and a homemade bagel (if you love garlic get the roasted garlic cream cheese, will keep the vampires away and tastes amazing!) Bottom line: they know what’s up at Yuu. The staff is friendly, helpful, and takes time out of their day to chat with you. Their food is reliable and fun. The coffee and boba are flavorful and presented well. The next time we visit Seattle we will be back to try even more food <3

Yelp
Great cozy bubble tea place in the Walgreen's parking lot. They have a ton of fun flavors and options to choose from. Service was great, and she mentioned they sell homemade bagels that looked yummy. They also have a case full of other treats, and make bagel sandwiches. This is a great addition to the area. It's my new go to spot for boba because it's in such a convenient location!!

Yelp
Soooooo... had an interesting experience here. I heard from my sis that they have several kinds of matcha here and that their bagels and other pastry items are fresh and made in-house every day. We both decided to go together on a Tuesday around 12pm affter having an early lunch. This is in Columbia City and shares its parking with nearby businesses like Walgreens and Domino's Pizza, and there's a bunch of it. Given that, this area is sketchy... I'll just leave it at that. The inside of the place says otherwise; there's big windows that let in a ton of natural light, comfy seats with wooden tables to go along with them, and a very quiet and peaceful vibe despite all the cars roaming around during lunch/rush hour. There are two entrances to this place, one just outside the sidewalk and the other closer to Walgreens from the parking lot. You could easily relax here and/or do some work. You order up at the front, and the menu for this place spans several panels, with offerings like milk tea, coffee, matcha, specialty drinks, bagels and pastries. We found it odd that our server didn't ask me or my sis for any adjustments on sugar and ice levels, or milk substitutions on either of our drinks; we had to ask for them ourselves. I decided to get their matchamisu, and my sis got their taro milk tea with less ice and sugar. My matchamisu was very sweet, though both the matcha and tiramisu flavors were noticeable and never totally overpowered the other. I liked the taste of my sis's taro milk tea as well; it was fresh and aromatic, and was not at all artificial like some other milk tea places. Sad part about this is that she two very small flies that somehow made it into one of the ice cubes in her drink. We were disturbed and pretty disgusted and wondered of anything else made it into my drink even though I drank most of mine. If I get those flies off my mind, then the flavors here actually hit really hard. I'd be down to come back for their other menu items and also try their other matcha drinks! I'm pretty happy there's another milk tea place that's within a comfortable driving distance as well.

Yelp
Nice owners but I really dislike false advertising... The bagels are listed as homemade and I heard the owner state this to the person ahead of me in line and I really cannot believe that. They've got 20 types and they taste and look like Sysco. Which is completely fine to have! But when you lie to your customers, it doesn't feel like you're being respected and that you're being overcharged. The boba was mush and the tea in their milk teas is very weak.

Yelp
Clean and friendly. Nice seating area. Good bagels. Recommend!!! They maybe need some more customers so drop by soon!

Yelp
Yuu Tea Cafe is a newer cafe on the edge of Columbia City. It is a Cafe that has baked goodies and bagels. I didn't get the chance to try their food but there is a small seating area. I could see it as a good spot for studying or maybe doing work. There is ample and easy to find parking. I would typically opt for more of a tea forward boba spot next time. Staff: nice (5/5) Sanitation status: (4/5) Matchamisu (3/5) I didn't really taste that much matcha flavor in this drink, the tiramisu portion of it really overpowered the taste of the matcha. It was really sweet so I would reccomend ordering less sugar. Taro Milk Tea (3/5) This drink didn't really taste like they used fresh taro in it. It was okay but nothing special. The pearls were really chewy in consistency.

Yelp
The staff that helped us was very sweet and patient while we decided and was great about questions. Apparently they have nondairy everything so pretty much anything can be dairy free! I really liked my drink. My partner was not as much a fan of his Thai coffee one though and said he thinks those are best separately. There were lots of places to sit if you were staying and it was very clean and well lit. They gave us little carry straps which was lovely! Would recommend.

Yelp
Plenty of seating and natural sunlight with a huge menu. The service was a bit slow as there was only one staff and another being trained, but that's okay. Gyokuro milk tea with pearls (50% sweetness) - 3/5. The milk tea was very milky, lacking the tea flavor and umami of gyokuro.

Yelp
We've been watching this location slowly prepare to open for a while now. Having a local coffee/tea location this close to the parks is great. There are some other options in the Columbia City historical district but parking there isn't nearly as easy without dropping a few dollars for paid parking. They have a lot of options from cold tea to milk tea to coffee shop favs. Food wise a lot of sandwich options and it's ALL DAY- as it should be for breakfast anythjng. The kumquat lemon tea was really refreshing and light sweetness option was perfect for this tea. The sandwich gives the option to pick your bagel type-sesame for me. It's all made when ordered so set your expectations accordingly- this ain't Starbucks! Anyway the service was friendly and they didn't mind answering questions which are typical when opening a new place I'm sure.

Yelp
First of all- service was very friendly. The restroom was clean, and the owner saved my bag that I accidentally left behind. Now about the drinks- teas were fresh, and perfect sweetness. Definitely worth stopping by!

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Tie Guan Yin and sun Moon Lake Milk tea were good. You can taste the tea. Super friendly staff offered free samples. Location is in one of the more challenging neighborhoods in Seattle. The space itself is spacious, high-ceilings with lots of light.

Yelp
Family run business mom started. Sons gave us the background. Teas are made fresh. They use fresh ingredients as in the purple twist using fresh taro root. Laid back and good vibes all around. Bagels looked fresh and the desserts displayed looked amazing but we had just ate so we will be back to try those. This place did not disappoint. We will be back.

Yelp
I work in the area and needed breakfast. Fewer eateries on this corner and block, making it accessible via a short walk for me. The space is quite large and has such large windows. Beautiful jazz music was playing. This would be a great place to study, or dine-in while catching up with friends. They have quite the selection of boba tea, which I will be back to try! I ordered a Vanilla Soy Latte and a Breakfast Bagel. They have multiple cream cheeses and a full espresso bar. The woman helping me was so kind and patient while I reviewed my options. I paid $15 for my items, excluding tip which I think is average. I will be back!

Desiree J.

Yelp
They had a variety of drink options and you can customize to your liking, March is ceremonial They also had breakfast sandwiches that are made to order, I recommend ordering ahead if you're in a hurry, and a variety of little pastries to choose from.

Yelp
This sandwich that I got was amazing, I'm not sure if mayo was an option(I don't ask) but that would've brought it together although it wasn't dry or needed. Service was amazing once again. Being greeted once you take a step in. Nice calm vibe. Afrobeats and R&B music playing throughout the cafe. This is my 2nd time going and i definitely will be going back!!

Yelp
I've been waiting FOREVER for this tea shop to open. It's conveniently located right across from The Beacon theater, my fav cult movie joint. Ordered a Golden Matcha. Oishi desu! Can't wait to try them all. Also serving coffee, bagel sandwiches, desserts, and egg waffles...
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, great prices, friendly service! Lots of sunshine through big windows. Highly recommended.

Yelp
The tea here is fantastic- you can tell they're using quality teas, and the staff shared their story of how the teas are sourced. We tried the Matcha Lover and the Titan Oolong milk tea. Both were great, I especially loved how fragrant their oolong is. Previously tried the tie guan yin milk tea and Golden Matcha as well and both were good. Their matcha drinks are specialty drinks that remind me of chè dessert in a sweet, homey way. Beautiful and spacious store as well. All the staff were super friendly and gave great recommendations!

Yelp
Healthy matcha drinks! Healthy and yummy. Friendly staff. Good music. Wifi available. A great bubble tea place in our neighborhood.. at last.

Yelp
What a fun new spot! Air conditioned with lots of natural light. They have an interesting selection of teas and they are all customizable with toppings, sweetness and ice. The Yuu Tea section of the menu offers their signature flavor combinations. The staff was very helpful talking through each item. They also have a big selection of breakfast sandwiches on your choice of bagel. My favorite part? There is more than one option without meat for the vegetarians. They also have standard coffee and espresso options making this the perfect stop if, like me, your partner isn't team boba. Finally, it open past 5 which is not super common for coffee places in the area making it a great place for an after work meetup. Very excited to have them in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Customer service here was however I didn't like the purple twist drink I ordered. The space is laid back and has lots of seating. Overall, I don't think I'll come back here and I don't recommend it.

Yelp
Love all the organic and house made food (perfect bagels) and drink options, as well as the staff's interest in educating customers about the business and its origins. What a great addition to the neighborhood!

Yelp
I was hoping this place will be my next go to tea Cafe but nope. I ordered brulee matcha and I was looking at how it was being made which he pour milk into match powder and mixed then line the cup with brulee cream then pour ice to top and add matcha mixed and this point he try to remove ice because it was over flowing and he used his finger to remove instead of utensil. I saw him doing that to another customer drink too. The taste of matcha not even there. mostly that egg pudding taste. And in menu pic they pour brulee cream on top but my drink as you can see in photo none. and their online ordering menu is so different for brulee matcha. you can see from the pics I post. Drink does take long time to come out. It's not worth $9.

Yelp
The drinks are tasty and made fresh to order. The bagels are made in house and are a great snack

Yelp
Delicious new boba shop! My fiancé and I stopped in for a quick drink while we were out running errands. I got the fresh start matcha and he got the sky dust; both were excellent! The tea is all freshly brewed, which really makes a difference. We were served by the owner's son, who was very welcoming and gave us a great intro to the shop. Between the music playing (loved the Ghibli scores!) and the super cute decor, it made for a lovely little break spot.

Yelp
Extremely nice staff, excellent service and delicious tea. Bagels were excellent and they serve homemade cream cheese. We will be back!

Alana V.

Yelp
Incredible drink selection and the owner's son, Da, was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming! They also have freshly made bagels each morning at 5am and they serve breakfast all day long! So fresh and yummy! Their special is lox bagel, which looks absolutely delicious. Their store is super clean, spacious, and has abundant sunlight!

Yelp
So yummy, so good. I got the Oolong Milk Tea with boba, which was Delicious. Really nice staff, learned that it was family owned which I liked. The shop was cute and a great spot after being out and about all day. :)

Yelp
Was excited to check this place out after it opened recently, and it seems great. Very, very friendly, and a nice open space with lots of lighting. Menu looked exciting -- gonna be fun coming back and trying different drinks. Wife liked her Purple Twist and I like my Tiramisu wave.

darlene v.

Yelp
Very nice hang out spot with modern comfortable furniture. Perfect boba and looks like a nice vegan bagel sandwich is also served. Very nice presentation as well. This spot seems nice for studying and hanging out as well as getting great boba and great service. Prices seem typical of Seattle boba shops. This seems to be an undiscovered gem.

Yelp
Too much ice in my drink, pretty expensive for a simple drink. New spot gonna give some time to get better. Love to see this place improve.

Richard K.

Yelp
Have been here twice now to get regular iced tea or boba tea and it has been top notch both times. Especially stands out because the staff are so friendly. Their bagels are home made! Amazing neighborhood spot that definitely deserves a visit.

Grace G.

Yelp
The Thai tea is amazing and not too sweet! The customer service is also very welcoming. Happy to have a good tea spot in the neighborhood.

Yelp
cute family owned place that opened up! they are vietnamese so they do vietnamese coffee and standard coffee drinks along with fresh brewed tea drinks! locally sourced bagel sandwiches are very reasonably priced as well you can tell the family cares a lot about the business and it's refreshing to see! support local!

Olivia R.

Yelp
The inside was very spacious and clean with plenty of seating and they had a huge menu. The drinks were pretty solid and the bagels were great! The service was super friendly, spoke with the owner's daughter and she was really helpful answering all the questions we had. We'll definitely be coming back to support the lovely family owned business!

Cameron S.

Yelp
I very rarely feel compelled to write a review but the staff here was so friendly and the drinks we got were fantastic. VERY reasonably priced too! will definitely be coming back to support this family business!

Katia N.

Yelp
wonderful location with lots of natural lighting, good for studying! large menu with lots of variety, i recommend the coconut or salted viet coffee!! wonderful service as well, family run business
