The Best Things Infatuation SF Writers Ate In May 2025 - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"By day, you’ll find fantastic coffee and tea drinks at this SoMa Japanese spot, and at night, it becomes a restaurant with a flawless uni and sweet shrimp donburi. Gently nudge the jewel-like jammy yolk in the center and stir it throughout the entire bowl to bind everything together. The uni has the texture of a warm pad of butter, and the shrimp has a barely-there chew before melting in your mouth. Just take a big scoop, cradle it in a toasted sheet of nori, and take a moment to appreciate your handiwork before eating. Whether you go during the day or at dinnertime, we suggest getting a reservation. Walk-ins are accepted for cafe and restaurant hours, but you may end up sharing a booth or having to stand at the bar. The good news is that reservations, particularly before 7pm and after 9pm, are easy to snag just a day in advance." - julia chen 1, patrick wong, julia chen 1, patrick wong, julia chen 1, patrick wong, julia chen 1, julia chen 1, patrick wong, patrick wong, patrick wong, julia chen 1, patrick wong, julia chen 1, patrick wong, julia chen 1, patrick wong

I absolutely love Yuzuki! Every time I come here, the food is incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared — you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The sushi is delicate, the flavors are well-balanced, and the presentation is always thoughtful. The staff are warm, attentive, and make you feel genuinely welcome, which adds so much to the experience. The atmosphere is calm and authentic, perfect for enjoying Japanese cuisine without feeling rushed. It has quickly become one of my favorite places in Toronto, and I always look forward to coming back. Highly recommended for anyone who loves real Japanese food!

Google
Visited on a Saturday lunch time and was greeted by friendly and efficient staff. I was surprised there wasn't so many tables occupied, so I had my choice of sitting next to the sushi display. I was served some nice tea whilst I waiting for my order to arrive. I received a small side salad and miso soup which was nice. The order of pork cutlet (katsu) on a bed of rice was large. The don had an accompanying egg with the cutlet and all was full of flavour. The price was reasonable given the location of the restaurant. The wash room facilities were well maintained as was the restaurant.

Google
Yusuki is always excellent. If you are looking for an authentic experience of Sapporo sushi, you are at the right place. The Hokkaido Don is sublime! No, it is not inexpensive. But food of that quality won't be unless you fly to Japan. And even then, it won't be. So, be thankful yusuki does this for us here. I can't wait to go back.

Google
Some of the best sushi I’ve had in Toronto. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality mostly reflects that. They have a bunch of unique dishes and fish options that you can’t find anywhere else! Staff were super friendly too

Google
I'll keep this review objective--but brutally honest. Pros: The ambiance is admittedly excellent: a clever mix of western bar and Japanese izakaya. The sushi counter, manned by actual Japanese chefs, delivers fresh ingredients with obvious skill and respect for the craft. And of course, the location--Bloor and Yonge-couldn't be more convenient. Cons: And now the ugly truth: 1. If you're dining solo, prepare to be invisible. My food took an eternity to arrive. Yes, even something as basic as a grilled mackerel. At some point, I wondered if they were waiting for the fish to swim back from Japan. 2. The open-kitchen chefs clearly know their art. The back-kitchen? Not so much. My mackerel came with the bile sac broken--rookie mistake 101--so one side tasted like a spoonful of bitter medicine. Anyone who has ever grilled mackerel knows how amateur that is. 3. The waitress serving me deserves a special mention--for sheer arrogance. After making me wait an age, she dismissed my complaint with a straight face, claiming this was "normal." Translation: either she doesn't know her job, or she thinks the customer is an idiot. When I pressed, she refused an exchange, refused even a token refund, and finally walked off pretending I didn't exist. For context: I was a single diner spending over $100. If Hermes down the street treated customers this way, they'd go bankrupt in a week. You are more condescending than the SA in the Hermes fair lady! Verdict: This place could be worth it--if only the back kitchen and floor staff cared half as much as the sushi chefs. Maybe it was a bad night, maybe it was bias against solo diners. Either way, it turned what should have been a good meal into a lesson in patience and bitterness. TLDR: What a pity! まあ、仕方ないですよね(笑)

Google
We came for dinner and had high expectations of the place. Honestly i wouldve probably given a higher review if it werent for the small portion sizes. Honestly i understand that fish is expensive etc. but for the amount of food we got, they shouldn’t be charging these kinds of prices. Small portions but was fresh and delicious. No actual complaints about the food just seemed extremely expensive for what we got. Might as well gone to omakase.

Google
The menu has many interesting options to choose from, several of which I haven’t had before, so I ordered the ones that I have not yet tried in other restaurants. While the selection of fish is indeed interesting, the final result isn’t good. The rice was dry and crumbly, which took away the taste a lot and made the experience unpleasant. The cut of the fish itself isn’t that great either, but the rice was the main issue for me. Shirako Grilled I’ve had this in ponzu, and on sushi, but not yet as tempura or grilled, and grilled seemed interesting to me, so I gave it a try. Indeed, ponzu is better. The grilling seemed to make it shrink, and I just don’t like the texture as much. The shirako here seems really overpriced, when I could have gotten good tasting shirako for less elsewhere. Iwagaki Deep Fried Tastes alright, nothing special. I ended up paying ~$150 at the end for this lunchtime meal. Not worth it…

Google
The atmosphere is calm and inviting, with a minimalist design that perfectly reflects Japanese aesthetics. The staff are attentive, polite, and knowledgeable about the menu, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. The sushi is incredibly fresh, with perfectly balanced flavors, and the presentation is beautiful. The ramen is rich and comforting, with a deep, savory broth and tender noodles. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Yuzuki takes sushi to the next level with its selection of premium fish. Each piece is sourced with care, offering a variety rarely seen in many other places in Toronto. Located a few doors down to the right of the W hotel. The fish is exceptionally fresh and of premium quality, with every bite melting in your mouth. The chefs clearly prioritize quality and authenticity, and each dish is beautifully presented. The menu includes delicate cuts of fatty tuna (otoro and chutoro), buttery Hokkaido uni, and beautifully marbled salmon that practically melts in your mouth. They also serve rarer options like golden eye snapper (kinmedai) and amberjack, Otoro, chutoro, unagi, amago, and more; each prepared to highlight its unique flavors and textures. The chefs at Yuzuki use traditional methods like aging and lightly searing certain cuts, enhancing the natural flavors of the fish without overwhelming it. Every bite showcases freshness and expertise, making it a must-visit for sushi enthusiasts. Yuzuki in Toronto is a gem for sushi lovers. From the moment you enter, the elegant ambiance and servers in traditional kimonos set a refined tone. The service is impeccable--attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Yuzuki provides a truly authentic and luxurious sushi experience, perfect for special occasions or anyone looking to indulge in top-tier Japanese cuisine in Toronto. Highly recommended!

Yelp
A beautiful downtown Japanese restaurant with good food, nice presentations, and great service. The Toro Bafun Uni Ikura Don was absolutely amazing! Total satisfaction for a good quality Japanese bowl. We ordered some other food too like a Katsu Don and some Deep Fried Oysters. Nicely done and not oily at all. Lovin' it! Beautifully dressed waitresses with authentic Japanese politeness in great a manner. Pretty nice dining experience and we enjoyed it very much on our anniversary day. There was a parking lot conveniently located right across Bloor Street. Literally 1 minute of walk to the restaurant. Flat on weekends. Wait till 6pm on weeknights for a flat rate if you park there. Folks, it's a good-quality Japanese restaurant in downtown Toronto. Recommended!

Yelp
This place lives up to its name and other good reviews. It was so pleasant to enter a tranquil space with low music, graceful waitstaff, and prompt but unhurried service. We did not go here for sushi, though they did have a full service sushi bar with many, many different fish offerings that you don't see in a lot of places. This place obviously takes its Sushi seriously. We enjoyed our green tea to start, then the pork gyozas with dipping sauce. Excellent. We followed with some shrimp and vegetable tempura pieces-served hot and crispy with another dipping sauce. Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab was also very good. Finally, some Udon noodles in broth were served piping hot and delicious. This is an authentic Japanese place with all Japanese staff, a mellow and calming spot to eat at, with wonderful service and delicious food.

Yelp
A gem of a Japanese restaurant with fresh sushi offerings and great service in downtown Toronto. The ambience is more quiet and the decor is more traditional. The prices are on the higher end but their fish quality is some of the best I've ever had. We enjoyed their assorted nigiri, dons, and more. Plating is impeccable. Keep an eye out for their seasonal offerings if you're a sushi lover as they may have harder to find options. They also do occasional deals on various items on Uber Eats.

Yelp
Authentic sushi very fresh very good. It's pricy (which is why I gave 4 stars not 5) but you get what you pay for. Everything is a notch above. The hand rolls aren't cones they're open at both ends. Don't lose your stuff out the bottom!

Yelp
This is definitely one of the higher end sushi restaurants in Toronto. I've probably eaten at over 100 places in Toronto and Yuzuki is in the top 10 for quality of food and presentation. Being the retail restaurant for a Japanese fish market means they have access to different seasonal types of sashimi that most restaurants don't. Food was high quality and done in a traditional Japanese manner by actual Japanese sushi chefs and staff (4.5/5): Tested out the Sashimi items and was impressed: - Hotate was fresh and buttery soft flavour - Hamachi was fresh and very flavourful - Chutoro Bluefin was fresh and just right amount of fat content - Sake was fresh and nice cut from close to belly - Shako was prepared nicely and not too sweet or bold Can tell from what was available they try to follow seasonal patterns for types of sashimi. Service was attentive and prompt (4.5/5): Atmosphere is pretty understated and on the smaller side. Interior tables and chairs are similar to what you would find at a run of the mill sushi restaurant. Hours are somewhat restricted too so check before booking. (3.5/5). Overall 4/5. Just keep in mind, it is at the high end of sushi menus in Toronto from a price perspective - a sashimi dinner will run you $60-100 a person a la carte.

Yelp
Dropped in for a quick dinner only to be met with the sweetest waitresses and better dressed patrons. Service and food was attentive and good. We ordered a dinner set and some side salads and nigiri and every single mouthful was delicious. Yuzuki is great for a quiet dinner date with really fresh ingredients.

Yelp
A little pricey compared to your average sushi joints, however you can definitely taste the difference in fish quality! I also liked how there isn't a markup on Ubereats for this venue.

Yelp
My favourite non-omakase sushi in the city. Visit Yuzuki for an authentic Japanese experience with excellent sushi, seasonal dishes and great service. The sake list is also extensive and staff are very helpful. I always order the premium sushi set and usually try one of their special appetizers and am never disappointed. They even use real wasabi! Chef Akira is attentive and friendly. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Small nondescript Japanese restaurant on Bloor Street east side of yonge. The website shows authentic Japanese food so I was definitely motivated tot try! Called at 5 pm on a Friday night and reservations still available. Small zen like interior space. Menu has typical traditional items. There is a daily special for seasonal items. We ordered the premium sushi set, Japanese fried oysters ( from Japan ), California snow crab roll, tamago sushi and teriyaki salmon dinner. The fish tasted quite fresh in the premium sushi set. Tango and California roll nicely done. Didn't really like the fried oyster heavy on breading and tasted like a regular oyster. Salmon teriyaki standard. For this price this restaurant falls short of expectations compared to other authentic Japanese restaurants. For me this restaurant didn't really impress and this is a 3 star experience.

Yelp
Yuzuki's hamachi kama shio-yaki ($13.50) was brilliantly done, the skin on the fish grilled until crispy with the meat flaking off and moist. There's that delicious meatiness on the first bite that you just want to savour. Fish jaws can be delightful. In quick succession the premium sushi set ($57) arrives with 10 pieces of nigri and a negi-toro roll that's created from fish flown in from Japan. Each piece was deftly prepared and small enough to be consumed in one-bite or savoured with two smaller nibbles. The lightly warmed rice could have been seasoned more but had a nice consistency - not too densely packed yet compressed enough that it held up being handled. The pieces of hirame, kanpachi, Hamachi, madai, and jin-kinmedai, were all light on the palette choices. Ideally, with 10 pieces the set could have benefited from including a stronger fish like aji or non-fish protein to create a greater contrast in flavours. There was a trio of tuna (oma akami, chu-toro, and o-toro) that's typical in a premium sushi set. All were good except the o-toro contained a chewy bit, so I didn't experience that sought after melt-in-your-mouth effect.

Yelp
Yuzuki is a Japanese restaurant around Bloor/Yonge serving a variety of fresh fish and Japanese food offerings. I saw their food first on social media and was curious to try their sushi as others had said it was fresh and delicious. I was able to order ahead of time by going through a delivery app where I opted for pick up at the restaurant. For food, I ordered the premium sushi combo for one. It is pricey but only because of the variety of fish they have in the combo. The tuna, chutoro and otoro are definitely the highlights along with the uni and ikura sushi. The rest of the fish, like the hamachi and hirame, also tasted very fresh. Overall, food is solid and delicious. It was a nice treat to have such fresh sushi at the heart of Bloor and Yonge. Definitely do go try if you are looking for a place to get good quality sushi!
google avatar

Mandy A.

Yelp
With Yuzuki having their own fish market, their fish was undoubtedly fresh. I loved the presentation and the cute sushi boat it came in. In terms of the seafood, my only complaint was the uni-- the sea urchin wasn't as sweet as I hoped it to be. ⁣ Also, the quality of the sushi rice was very nice-- the rice didn't fall apart and had a nice bite to it. I would've enjoyed a bit more seasoning, but nevertheless, the rice was still enjoyable.⁣ Overall, I enjoyed my sushi from Yuzuki and I'm looking forward to trying the rest of their menu.⁣

WY N.

Yelp
Their sushi is average. I would recommend this place for their wide selection of sake.

Yelp
Hooooooooly moley. I am in pure bliss. I think I'm only just now recovering from the surge of dopamine I had after eating my takeout from here. I was running an errand downtown today and noticed this new Japanese restaurant in the Bloor-Yonge area (Bloor/Church to be specific). I believe they opened sometime in August so I'm genuinely surprised there hasn't been a Yelp review yet! I found their menu on Ubereats with some accompanying photos and I was immediately captivated by the uni ikura don ($45). My partner was also eyeing the maguro don ($45) so we bit the bullet and decided to try this restaurant out despite not having any benchmark or reviews to go off of. AND BOY AM I GLAD WE DID. The donburi bowls were ab-so-lute-ly mouthwateringly DELICIOUS! The maguro don had amazing fresh cuts of maguro akami, chu-toro and o-toro while the uni ikura don had THE perfect balance of juicy salty ikura and sweet creamy uni. The portions were very fair as we were both stuffed after our bowls. We also tried the 2 pc hotate (scallop) sushi and 2pc anago (salt-water eel) sushi ($10/ea). Both were fresh and tasty but otherwise nothing to write home about - I still prefer Jabistro for my a la carte sushi. All in all, the two donburis we tried were fantastic and I would definitely recommend that you try them out if you're looking for that quality and caliber of donburi. It's pricey but it's worth it!

Yelp
Absolutely loved it!! It was a last minute date night on a Wednesday, we managed to get reservations for 2 and I was not disappointed!!! All the fish were fresh!! The nigiri were mainly tuna melt in my mouth. The Hokkaido don was one of the dav! There were a good quantity of uni, scallops and salmon roe. But the negi toro were bit thin, but still good! Would recommend to sushi lovers!

Yelp
Not quite omakase, but close in terms of feel, quality and price. A visit to Yuzuki transports you to a tranquil place where the seafood is of the freshest variety and the people are humbly proud about their offerings. This place gets packed and we didn't have a reservation so went just as they opened at 4. Tried a few things: - Mozuku Vinegar: A different take on the typical seaweed salad. This was not seaweed but more something conjealed and the vinegar sauce was heightened. Texture was really weird and it was a bit tricky to get a spoonful, but for some reason it actually worked! That was easily the most unique dish we tried. - Spider Roll: This was just a tad disappointing. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing bad about it. The filling-to-rice ratio was good, and the soft shell crab was fine well. I guess I was just expecting more wow or different for the price. - Deep Fried Octopus: Really well done. The coating was tasty, and the octopus melted (versus being rubbery). - Premium Sushi Set: Great quality, thoughtfully curated. Cost a bit but easily the standout of the night. - Japanese Pancake with Taro Ice Cream: The pancake was light though a tad crumbly. The ice cream was divine (actually thought it was homemade but they source it from somewhere else). Would definitely recommend this place and experience.

Yelp
Honestly beautiful interior, awesome service. Even with restaurant closures they still stand up to a high standard. Prices are a little above average but that's because of the high quality fish they provide. I ended up getting the premium sushi box which comes with a variety of tuna nigris (otoro, toro etc), tuna roll, uni. It was too good I forgot to take a picture. I also got kaki fry which is fried oyster. Compared to most other places, it wasn't as plump or sea tasting. They're just average though, not bad but not great. Definitely coming back to try their uni dons, salmon dons etc. Can't wait.

Keith E.

Yelp
The specials menu is remarkable and features dishes rarely seen outside Japan. Attentive service by the all Japanese staff. Ambiance is casual and easy going.
google avatar

Clyde C.

Yelp
Ordered through UberEats last night. Sushi was fresh and the presentation was nicely done but the sushi was not of the highest quality which doesn't reflect the slightly higher pricing of this establishment. Asked for utensils but they did not deliver with utensils so I used a spare set of chopsticks I had at home.

Yelp
Had a quick trip to Toronto and was craving some Japanese food. We checked this place out since somehow 4 other sushi places were closed??? The servers were all wearing traditional Japanese kimonos which was pretty cool. We ordered unagi don, katsu don, and 2 sake rolls. They give us free miso soup and salad to start. The unagi don was SO good, eel was succulent and flavorful. Katsu don was just mediocre, not enough flavor. Sake rolls were fresh but nothing too unique. Overall had a good experience, restaurant itself gave a homey vibe.
google avatar

Billy L.

Yelp
This sushi spot serves up some amazing, fresh, sushi boxes to go at an affordable price. The premium sushi box is a must get. It'll leave you with a full belly and your sushi craving satisfied. Within the box you get a variety of nigiri, most importantly, 3 different cuts of tuna. The o-toro literally melts in your mouth. This is the go to spot for take out, can't wait to come back for dine in. I can only imagine how much better it will straight from the chef to your plate.

Yelp
Another Toronto restaurant that makes me wish I lived here. This was the best and freshest sushi hubs and I have ever had. By far the best spicy tuna roll! Light and utterly delicious. Soft shelled crab! Miso soup! Gyoza! Even the humble edamame is delicious.
google avatar

Nathan L.

Yelp
Last minute Friday find, this was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the 2 dons, and a selection of sushi that are usually not available at your common sushi joint. Despite being pricey, the ambiance was pleasant and the food was superb. Would definitly visit again.
google avatar

Lucia L.

Yelp
So happy this place opened up downtown! It is more expensive but amazing fish quality. Their premium sets are so much food and my favourite is their chutoro and scallop sushi. Their uni is super fresh too.
google avatar

Kopi C.

Yelp
I ordered delivery from this hidden gem! The uni are very sweet and fresh in the ikura and uni don. I also ordered the Hokkaido bafun uni sushi, it's famous as the best uni in japan, I'm so glad I can eat it in at home! I can taste the uni are very fresh as they promoted! Highly recommended! Must try if you love uni! Another highlight of this place is the soy sauce and wasabi. It's not the package soy and powder wasabi other restaurants used. The wasabi is fresh and the soy sauce is specially matched with the seafood. It can bring out the taste of all seafood. Yes all these little details matter! They elevate the whole meal! I also tried the spicy salmon roll, it is not the best roll I've tried. The salmon isn't fat and it wasn't all coated with spicy sauce. They just added the sauce in the roll. It's spicy enough, it tastes ok.

Susan W.

Yelp
We ordered 2 combo, regular sushi, assorted tempura, shrimp tempura rolls, Yam tempura rolls, black sesame ice cream and sake . The material is very fresh and high quality. You can taste the taste of the food not the spice. The rice is so delicious. Everything dishes are very well done. My whole family enjoyed it.

Yelp
Yuzuki's definitely got the wow factor. To be honest, I don't consider their pricing to be sustainable over a prolonged period (especially during the pandemic), but at the current state, it's an absolute steal. I've only had their $48 (uber eat) premium sushi set so far, and I can assure you that it'll cost you just as much, if not more, to get the same quality sushi in Japan. Most other menu items are also the kind of Japanese food you would actually eat in Japan, as opposed to most other local sushi restaurants, which are often heavily tailored towards Canadian palates. By no means am I saying Yuzuki is the best Japanese restaurant in GTA. Places like Kaji, Zen or Yasu are clearly better. However Yuzuki will not bankrupt your bank account in the same way - at least not for now.
google avatar

Ruth H.

Yelp
Before covid, I used to go to a great restaurant at Bloor and Church. I couldn't stop raving about it, but I also had no idea what the place was actually called. I simply knew it as That Great Sushi Place on Bloor and Church. Fast forward to the pandemic and I started ordering from this restaurant called Yuzuki. I raved about this place too, to my cat and my boyfriend (since I wasn't exactly socializing anymore). It did not even begin to occur to me that I was in love with the same Sushi restaurant. I mean, is this the best rom-com or what? Anyway the food is great - amazing even. but the care these folks put into their presentation is also pretty awesome. I don't know if the way they sometimes package their food with fabric is a reference to The Ghost of Tsushima video game but I can safely say I squee-Ed like a giant nerd the first time I received a neatly tied purple package. If the restaurant operators see this, I hope they can confirm yea/nay.
google avatar

Jason P.

Yelp
Great quality fish, below average salad, average miso. The saki steamed clams were very good. The blue fin tuna don was also very good.
google avatar

Signe L.

Yelp
I chose this place because it was the only organic or wild salmon offering of sushi. I did not call to check up on the authenticity, but taste and freshness was excellent. Takowasabi was not as strong, but cleaner tasting with larger chunks of octopus than you usually find. The only disappointment was the green salad which was all iceberg lettuce (soaking wet with water) for $6, with 2 tiny plum tomatoes. Nice touches with the perilla leaf and calendula flowers-- all edible!
google avatar

Angela Y.

Yelp
Was craving uni and coincidently IG read my mind and got lured in by this "Uni ikura don" promo. The presentation was nice, and the bowl came with a small salad and miso soup as well as a green tea bag which was a nice touch. Though when it came to the seafood itself, I found the Boston uni to be extra fishy with a weird aftertaste. And compared to other similar restaurants such as Hana don, their portions are even smaller, yet pricier. Little disappointing cause I was still hangry after
google avatar

Christopher Z.

Yelp
Sushi is the perfect takeout/delivery food as it doesn't have to stay hot/cold. Happy to see Toronto step up their sushi game with more premium offerings, and Yuzuki is a nice addition to the Yorkville area. The price is worth it (especially for the premium) and although the portions are bit on the smaller side, the taste of their fish leaves you feeling more satisfied. Savour each bite and treat yourself!
google avatar

Jenny K.

Yelp
Wanted to try a new sushi place and came across this one. We had the premium sushi set for 2, fresh daily sashimi, tempura shrimp and chicken karaage ($168 in total including tax). The fish was really fresh, especially the uni - it was one of the best I've had in Toronto so far; creamy and zero fishy taste. The otoro was really good as well, super soft and buttery. Same for the hamachi - it was so "oily" (in a fish kind of way) and fresh. The only thing I thought could improve was their variety of fish - the white fish were all kind of similar so there weren't very distinctive "tastes" to the meal. I would definitely want the uni, tuna and hamachi again though!
google avatar

Victoria L.

Yelp
I've had their uni ikura bowl and chirachi don. Everything was immaculate down to the house made soy sauce that was a bit lighter and sweeter than regular soy sauce. Excellent value for the quality. It's by no means cheap but it's as close as you'll get to the quality of sashimi in japan! Highly recommend. Very consistent.

Yelp
Quality sushi around Yonge/Bloor (not quite omakase but definitely elevated from your 2 for 1 california rolls) with authentic and hard to find Japanese foods. Quality, type of fish, and size of nigiri is obviously less than other omakase restaurants around the neighbourhood, but they serve premium sushi as well as your classic rolls, as well as interesting authentic Japanese menu items that make it similar to a combination of Shunoko and Koyoi. Premium sushi set ($48), 10 nigiri, 6 negitoro maki. This set seems to only be available via Door Dash/Uber Eats, as I couldn't find it on their normal menu. Nigiri includes the akami, chu-toro, o-toro, red snapper, uni, ikura, and a variety of other fish. Very reasonable for the price compared to the other options in the area. Floral decorations and seemingly fresh grated wasabi definitely elevated the whole experience. Anago (salt water eel) side order ($10): This is one of my favourite nigiri; it wasn't warm like when you dine in, but it was still soft, fresh, and delicious! Ankimo, Monkfish liver ($9): Hard to find at other Japanese restaurants, creamy and salty but firm. Maguro with natto ($12): Again, natto is a hard find; perhaps only at places like Koyoi. I think you were supposed to eat this with rice, but we found that we had to add a touch of soy sauce as we mixed everything together - the novelty of it made it interesting but not sure if I would order again (though perhaps we just aren't used to eating natto!) Kurage, Jellyfish ($6): light, refreshing, tasty and salty! The imitation shark fin was a bit firm and the jellyfish was a bit scant, but it was still delicious and very pretty, and the novelty of it made it a great experience! Pick up experience was quick and simple at the entrance, order was prepared a bit ahead of schedule, packaging was pretty as well! I also appreciated that the Uber Eats/Door Dash menu prices were the same as their actual menu, though we did do pick-up. Would love to dine-in again once everything opens up!

Yelp
We really enjoyed the dine in experience. No fancy indoor renovation but offers a simple and warm vibe in a cozy environment. Very attentive service from server and chef. Food is good, from appetizer to sushi, noodle to grilled dish. I especially enjoyed their specially seasoned soy sauce. Parking is right across the street, $10 flat rate after 6pm. Also easy TTC accessible.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant, great service, portions and prices. I've been here many times and I'm a fan of the sandwich menu and great breakfast. They also have the option of home bread, definitely recommend!

Yelp
On the NW corner of Bloor and Church streets, from the shadow of Ichiriki, emerges Yuzuki. The interior decor of the new restaurant still retains all the elements of the previous establishment. The new menu consists of a selection of appetizers, donburis, teriyakis, sashimi, sushi and combo sets. Having heard about the quality of their fish offerings, I opted for the Premium Sushi Combo for One (Bluefin tuna akami, chu-toro, o-toro, hirame, snowcrab with kani miso, hamachi, kanpachi, ikura, uni and negi-toro roll). The presentation was very cute, reminiscent of furoshiki wrapping style. The container in which the fish was served had a delicate outer wooden box, which was a nice touch, elevating the experience. Honestly, the amount of food was smaller than I expected. The negi-toro was lovely, both in terms of texture and flavor. The Bluefin tuna akami (from Uwajima, Ehime maguro farm) was one of the best I recall having, so flavorful. The chu-toro was nice and rich; the o-toro was ok, but not as good as I've experienced before. Uni sushi was fresh enough, with creamy buttery texture and good flavor. Somehow a tiger shrimp that comes in the regular sushi combo ended up in my order. Take out service was friendly. Easy TTC access, one block east from Bloor subway station. No street parking on Bloor, some street parking south on Church St. Photos: https://thomassu.smugmug.com/Food/2021/210307Yuzuki/n-wmgVqj/ TLDR; recommended, good premium sushi, high price

Yelp
One of the best tasting sushi spots I've ever been to. Melts in your mouth and authentic. Top three for sure! Will be back next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Don't let the high price tag scare you off! It's worth it. One of the best sushi sets I've ever had the pleasure of trying in my life- comparable to Yasu, minus the experience. Fish is unbelievably fresh, presentation is spectacular, and it's abundantly obvious how much care goes into every order. 11/10 will order again

Yelp
Quality of the sushi and sashimi is top notch. Service is also really friendly and they have great recommendations. The place itself is quiet and well designed. Price is a bit high and plates are small for the price. Still, my hubby and I really enjoyed our visit to Yuzuki!

Yelp
Excellent quality uni - sweet and creamy. Jelly fish is good. No bitterness. Monk fish and dynamite rolls are just ok. Order from here if you are craving uni u won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Having ordered a few different things, I think the real star is the maguro (the varieties of tuna) that differentiates this restaurant from the others.
