Food was okay I’d say 7/10 wasn’t nasty but I wasn’t crazy over it. Customer service was good though I’d go back.

Our burgers was juicy, hot and flavorful. They will load you up with plenty of nice warm flavor French fries in a cup inside a bag, the french fries flavor remind me, when I used to get boardwalk french fries back in the day. The milkshake was flavorful as well. Great staff and friendly atmosphere.

Owner greeted us and made us feel right at home. Great burgers, seasoned fried are awesome, and the best onion rings ive ever had. And go for the black and white shake, was perfect! Will go back again 100%.

A burger, fries, and shake will run you 30 bucks. Burger is not made to instructions sometimes, shake is pretty good, and fries are considerably subpar. Not worth it.

Great burger, had the double with bacon and all toppings. Reminded me very much of five guys. Decided to try the half onion rings half french fries side, did not expect the super generous portions. The onion rings were more like funnel cake with onion inside, so if you like that sort of thing, you will love these. Fries were delicious. Service was great, everyone super friendly. Bathrooms could’ve been a little cleaner. Overall, though, definitely a five-star experience! Note: parking nearby is limited, I was on foot, having just gotten off the metro.

Great fast food place. They have a great selection of toppings you can add to any item and they have a huge selection of shakes and concretes. I had the cheesecake all the way with a fried egg on it. And it was absolutely delicious. Really big portions for the price. Also, they give you a lot of fries which is a great for sharing. Lastly, the Orio shake was absolutely fantastic. Definitely would come again.

A little pricey, but aren't burger places elsewhere. Z-Burger is my treat going to the city. The burgers are great - comparable only to Five Guys. They pretty much will make the burger to order, meaning for me, messy with a variety of toppings. The shakes are extra special with more combination choices than we have toes and fingers. Nowhere else can I get a chocolate-marshmellow flavor, except Swirlies in Manassas, but the shakes and malts at Z-Burger are thicker. The atmosphere is good and restaurant clean.

One of if not the best burger around town. service was excellent. The owner Peter was very nice and very welcoming he even gave myself my daughter and her friend a free milkshake. He didn't have to do that but glad he did. Now the burger and fries were delicious and so was the milkshake. Peter thank you for a very pleasant meal and a nice atmosphere. will definitely be back. Also they had a carotid juice drinks that were different and Dee-licious!!!!!!!!

The owner, Peter, is an absolutely wonderful host! We came for a midnight snack and he was so gracious and welcoming. He was thrilled when he learned we were locals. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in his burgers. He warmly invited us to dine in instead of taking carry out. He told us a lot about the history of the area. And he gave us a bottle of water. The burgers and fries were definitely yummy. The old bay fries were perfectly seasoned and salty. The burger was z style and nicely prepared. The portions were generous. You see a lot of AU students coming in at night which is expected but it was a great place. I would love to come back.

Went for shakes after the diner we visited had a broken ice cream machine. The service was fantastic! Very friendly, prompt service. The only trouble was having my daughter choose what kind of shake she wanted from the huge menu!

This spot very closely resembles Five Guys. I constructed my own burger, fries were served in a greasy brown bag. The main differentiator I would say is the 75 different flavor milkshakes that they offer, although I didn't order one on this visit. I ordered a Double Bacon Burger ($12) with lettuce, tomato, and fried onions (which were just cooked onions). For sure a great go to for those late night trips and it's very filling. Their Z Style Fries for regular size ($6.50) serves two people. So if you're eating by yourself, I recommend getting the size smaller, which I don't recall what they called it. Overall, they're nothing really too special. FYI: They offer student discount to AU student.

Worst burgers with burnt fries and over recooked onions rings, I/We ever ate! The mint shake had mint flavor passed over the blender. Z Burger was a "No,No Don't Do It!" We took one for our generations..don't,don't, do it!!! Why charge a package fee, $2.28 and this was a dine-in "almost regurge-a-meal?"

Best fast food in the neighborhood. Friendly staff, consistent quality. Great onion rings and shakes.

Joe is an incredibly hard worker, the food is always fantastic and the owners are super nice!

We went here while visiting Washington DC. There were lots of choices which was great. We asked the clerk what he recommended and he couldn't offer any suggestions. We asked again and he reiterated that he doesn't recommend any. While waiting for our order, we also observed flys in the kitchen. The shakes were still pretty good, but the service was poor and we were all concerned about the bugs when we talked on the way back to the hotel.

I had not been to ZBurger in several months but went last night for a cheesesteak and fries. It was apparent that the staff, management or ownership had turned over since the establishment's grand opening last year. The facility has not been well maintained - it is dark and unclean. The food was not only disappointing but, the next day myself and my friend who ate there experienced severe gastrointestinal issues including stomach pain and diarrhea. Furthermore, the meal wasn't even worth the $35 or the pain and suffering it caused us. The french fries were completely unseasoned - it was essentially a paper bag full of grease. We had to throw away the entire bag. The cheesesteaks were at least edible but also, unseasoned and dry. To say that I'm disappointed is an understatement. I won't even speak of the "milk shakes" - they are simply syrup flavored iced drinks. So long ZBurger!

Zburger is for lovers. It's grilled to perfection I go here every week and it's the only thing I look forward to in my life.

The burger was delicious and the bread and topping were nice and fresh. The two of us each got the half fries & half onion rings - goodness! Totally unnecessary! The portions are huge! The upside is that they will be delicious in the air fryer tomorrow! We will definitely go back to try the shakes!

Had a turkey burger, fries, and fried spicy chicken sandwich. Everything was great. Portion sizes were reasonable.

I visited the Third Street SE across from the NASA building 6/15/24 for lunch. The burgers were delicious, but the onion rings were the bomb. The batter was unique and very tasty; they weren't greasy. Just the BOMB! The workers were courteous and efficient! I highly recommend this place! I didn't take pictures..oops!

Always such friendly kind service!! This is seriously my favorite burger place ever. I'm a very picky eater so take it from me if you just want to grab a bite and get excellent service this is your place.They also offer vegan,doubles, turkey and chicken sandwiches.Grab a milkshake and enjoy. By the way it's extremely clean.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE! First the prices are expensive compared to the main fast food chains (that have better food). 10 dollars for a hamburger and 7 for regular fries. My main concern is that they gave someone else my son's order, he had to wait 20 min and the employees did nothing about it except make a new one. When we asked for small fries because of the incident the employee argued "NO", "are you for ring me too" in a harsh attitude when I was talking nicely. Then the new burger had the wrong toppings. Finally when we left he said bad things, hoping to never come again. DO NOT EAT FROM Z BURGER IN WASHINGTON DC

Been here multiple times and have always had a good experience! The food is good and love all of the multiple options. Usually I get overwhelmed by so many choices but at a place like this and with the great service that you get, it makes it a lot easier. I've had the burgers, chicken burgers, cheesesteaks, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, LMAO almost a little of everything haha. I still haven't been able to try the shakes though. It reminds me of Cookout (if you're from the south). Of course be aware you're not coming here for something (necessarily) HEALTHY but you're coming here for something GOOD. Great fast food in Tenleytown~ I particularly love the photo collage of the staff on the wall. It warms up the environment. Also there's plenty of spaces to sit, even outdoors. Again, the service is what makes this place extra awesome. And I know they support the community in various ways too so support them back!

Extremely disappointed with the customer service, especially from the manager. I placed an order on Uber Eats and my order was given to someone else. My Uber eats driver was super helpful and tried to tell them they need to remake my order. When she wasn't getting anywhere she called me to explain what was happening and had me talk to the store manager. He was very rude, completely unhelpful, and absolutely refused to have a new order made so my driver could bring it to me. It is his store's responsibility to make sure customers pick up the right order ahead items. He just told me "go to Uber eats and they'll refund you" - didn't want a refund, just wanted my meal and I can't believe he refused to remake it. I was attempting to try something new with getting z burger instead of the same places I always go (5 Guys, Ghostburger, Lucky Buns - all amazing!!) and that was a mistake - Will never go here again.

If you can skip the grease, the food would be better tasting. The amount of oil used is astronomical. By far, it was the greasiest meal of my life.

After receiving advertisements in the mail frequently, I decided to give Z-Burger a try (though I didn't use the promotions, as they weren't to my liking). The location is clean and inviting enough, but the food is average at best so I'm not sure how they tout themselves as one of best in the DC area. I think I am more partial to Five Guys. They have a lot of customization options which I appreciated but otherwise were only average. Additionally, the fries were quite unfortunate and borderline flavorless. Perhaps their strong point are the shakes. Either way, nothing to write home about overall.

It was our first time here and it did not disappoint! The portions were generous, the food was flavorful. We had the Koobideh Kabob (with rice, salad and bread and yogurt), the chicken Philly cheesesteak and our son had a cheeseburger, fries and an chocolate oreo shake. Everything we had was excellent! Azi took our order and even checked in on us. She was wonderful! We are visiting from Tucson, but if in the area again before we leave we will definitely eat here again!

Burgers are great, juicy, great toppings (maybe my favorite local burger), fries are ok ( not noteworthy but edible), the onion rings are horrible, the only onion rings I have ever disliked, just fatty batter.

Looks can be deceiving. Attached to this review, you'll find a standard burger with a sad-looking bun (transport was not kind to our dear friend). What you don't see is all the greasy goodness this hamburger delivers. Craving something more than the typical chain burger that gives you something flat and made of mostly bread? Z-Burger will hit the spot. With all the necessary toppings and a substantial patty, this burger is everything you're looking for when you want a quick evening bite. Not original, not unique, not healthy. But dang, is it good when you've got a grumbling belly at 10:00 PM.

Had to try out an AU favorite nearby school. It was great! Exactly like Five Guys, but a cheaper alternative. They package your to-go bags nicely too. The service was very quick as well.

Visited new Olney location at 1:30 today. legal parking is a real challenge. I ordered the Lamb kabob for takeout. it was well prepared and delicious however I had to wait 25 minutes for my order . I will try a burger next time

Met up with the crew for a burger like brunch at Z-Burger and let's just say we all left with a food coma. No, they do not offer a brunch but it was breakfast/lunch time when we all arrived so we dubbed it a Burger Brunch!! A hungry bunch we are, we tried a little bit of everything from the menu!! These are in no way you average burger, either and if you are a one patty wonder, come and elevate you burger bite!! The patties on the burgers are fresh and made with care. Juicy and tender sirloin meat that will have you doing a double take, all for good reasons. Toppings are fresh and plentiful and actually match the size of the burgers. If you are not big on bread, you can get a bun-less burger as well, all you gotta do is ask! The fries are amazing!!!!! Double fried so wen you break it in half you hear the snap yet it is still a pillowy potato on the inside. Dip them in the Z sauce and you are in business. Literally, you can put the Z sauce on dang near anything and your taste buds will thank you!! Take the onion rings for a spin as well because they are satisfying as well. Did I tel you how crispy the chicken sammie is? With or without bacon, your choice of course, you have never had a chicken sammie like this!! The flavor is pure!! Not too much crispy exterior, juicy and tender meat interior and just down right yummy!!! The chicken is actual chicken breast, no thighs here at all!! If you love a cheesesteak, come and get it here!! Whether its steak of chicken you will not be disappointed!!! Fully loaded and fantastic you will find that you are full yet you continue to eat because the food is just that good!! You need a drink now right? You need a milkshake!!! With quite a few flavors to chose from they are sure to have one that catches your eye. Do not fret,the shakes are thick so they do not melt easily. The staff is the best!! Peter went out of his way to ensure our large party was taken care of and to make sure we had everything we needed during out stomach filling session. Luckily, they have a lot of space at this location so you are able to find somewhere to sit even when they are busy between the indoor and outdoor seating. If you are looking for a good burger, look no further and do it the Z way!!!

Don't let the four stars fool you, this place is pretty good. I think Z Burger is definitely a special occasion place or a place to go to really late at night because of the prices (this is why the review is 4/5). The food is pretty good and the shakes are absolutely phenomenal! If this place were cheaper, then it would be a really great place to go. If you're a large group, order a large fries!

This was my first time here. Burger is my go to and favorite food. The regular and veggie burger were both delicious. Strawberry shake hit the spot and the large fries were YUGE. Also, staff was friendly and accommodating.

Unbelievably kind servers, and the food is good too. I enjoyed the retro diner vibe. Wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often.

Stopped by the new New Jersey Avenue NW DC Z Burger. The chicken cheesesteak with "two" cheeses was excellent & generous. The onion rings were awesome there. Everything is fresh, and the staff is unusually friendly and helpful. I can also recommend their 75 flavors of milkshakes (I prefer strawberry). The store was spotless. Street parking was easy, but DC has parking meters not to be ignored.

Dude this place is wack as hell. Not like my childhood experience at Z Burger. All I wanted was to try a little bit if my childhood and Z Burger robbed me of that. I decided to get a chicken sandwich because I love me some chicken sandwiches but this is the atrocity I got. I don't know if I am crazy or this is a rat burger because this looks very much like a rat. It's got whiskers, a tail, and feet. like bro come on man. I just wanted some good chicken man and I got this.

26 minutes for a single chicken sandwich on a not very busy night? Sorry, not worth the wait. Likewise, the chocolate-raspberry shake was thick but - for the second time - zero taste of raspberry. On the plus side, they have oodles of seating to handle the long wait.

I ended up finding the spot on accident and boy am I glad I got lost in this area . I have been here a couple of times since and the burgers are fantastic and original and the portions are great the onion rings and fries are delicious . They give you a lot for your buck . And the employees are fun and funny ! Come try these guys out you'll be glad you did .

It pains me to give it 4 and not 5 stars. I love their burgers and usually the shakes. This last time we went just for shakes and one of them was terrible. Like the banana was spoiled or something. The other was just as divine as they usually are though. If it weren't pandemic-land I would have gone back but we'd left by the time we tasted it and couldn't go back by that time. In short - this time wasn't their best but I look forward to updating this the next time we go as every other time we've had good burgers and shakes.

Great food, great service and support for the community! The store supports local schools such as Janney night to help raise funds for the school. We enjoyed the burgers with endless toppings, fries, onion rings and milk shakes. Certainly will come back often.

You can go to the place known for its arches a couple of blocks away or enjoy a juicy burger far more satisfying at Z Burger. Once you decide on the type of burger - number of patties, bacon etc., you can choose to add optional toppings at no additional charge. If you don't want a burger, they have other choices (e.g. cheesesteaks and hot dogs) as well as fries and onion rings for sides and malts and shakes. The fries have an option of "Z style" or seasoned and they give you plenty! No need to order the large size unless you are with a group to share. I normally like seasoned fries, but I opt for the Z style and it makes the fries tasty enough without the extra seasoning. Unlike some establishments in D.C. there is plenty of room for seating, so during dinner time you shouldn't have an issue finding a seat.

Total rip off joint. Got some two for one coupons and having never eaten there decided to give it a try. Online chicken sandwich shows price of $5.99....in store price was $7.79...30% higher. Plus the payment pad immediately hits you up for a 15% or 20% or higher tip for a "carry out" order. It gets better...they charge a 10% "packaging fee"...not disclosed. About a 10 minute wait for order. About the only positive is the give you a couple of mini cups of ketchup and what appears to be their Z sauce. Steer clear unless you have more money than brains. Never going back!!!! P.S. They did get the toppings right but chicken patty was only fair and not worth the price.
