I came here for a birthday dinner with a large party of 8. Our waiter, Scott, was very helpful and gracious given that there was a lot going on at our table. This restaurant is in Grandview where street parking can be difficult, but heads up, you can park across the street in the post office parking lot for free.
We were here on a Tuesday and they had a tapas special going on with several small plates available for $5 all night. I thought that was a great way to try certain dishes on their menu before ordering a full plate, so we ordered the seafood risotto, beefstriped tomatoes, and fried shrimp. Out of those tapas, the shrimp was my favorite. The tomatoes were just okay (topped with crabmeat which was a yummy addition) and the risotto didn't have much flavor or creaminess. One guest also had the cucumber ricotta which was also just okay. Another had the house meatballs which I enjoyed. They gave me a meatloaf vibe. Let me say that the bread with the red sauce for the table was soooo good! I'm honestly not sure what was in it other than some kind of oil, but it really had so much flavor that I had to ask Scott if they sold it by the bottle!
My dinner was the smoked chicken ravioli which was a very solid choice. Inside was some sort of minced chicken, moist and flavorful, outside was spiced cream corn, Ohio sweet corn, and a candied tomato with a very rich and tasty cream sauce. I enjoyed it very much!
The reviews from the rest of my party were mixed. Two ordered the veal short ribs but didn't like the flavors and thought the meat wasn't tender at all, one ordered the sea scallops and also wasn't impressed.
Still, we had a lovely evening and this is a solid spot for upscale Italian food.
