What To Eat At Market 57

"Plot twist: this food hall Zaab Zaab is just as good as the Thai restaurant’s two brick-and-mortar locations. The menu here is condensed with just three sections: som tum, larb, and curry. We love the duck larb with a side of sticky rice, as spicy as they’ll make it, but any of their som tum options make a perfect alternative to the sad desk salad. Come here when you need to get out of a lunch rut. Or pick up dinner on your way home and make everyone in your household love you even more than they already do. " - carina finn koeppicus

I only tried their French fries, good size portion for $6, they were really good and came with a yummy sauce, if you’re need a quick bite, I recommend

Good taste! Busy weekend but the two staff are friendly and nice 🥰🥰

Really disappointed, all the food here were frozen and reheated (maybe given the limitation of the space). Crab curry had very little crab and the noodles were falling apart and soggy. The chicken curry puffs were mediocre as well. Their original restaurant carries a good reputation and this pop up unfortunately was a huge disappointment.

Was recommended this place and decided to try. The food was quick and good with plenty of seating at the bar across the way. It's a little hard to find since it's not in the middle of Market 57. It's off to the right side facing the water. We ordered the papaya salad (Som Tum Pla Ra) with the fermented fish sauce. It offered a vinegary almost pickled flavor which nicely offset the rest of the meal. We tried the curry crab which was delicious, one of my favorites. It was a rice noodle with curry topped with a soft shell crab and half a hard boiled egg, bean sprouts and raw string beans. The larb beef was also good, which was more tangy and best eaten in the lettuce wrap. The chicken curry puff was perfectly golden on the outside, but soft and pillowy on the inside with coconut, a bit on the sweeter side but very good another favorite. It was enough food for 2 people for dinner and came out to $64. Apparently they are known for their spice and we did not go spicy enough as you can choose your spice level when you order. But if you like spice, definitely try this out.

Would give a zero if I could. Terribly long waits (45 minutes!!), tiny portions, and microwaved food: nothing redeemable about this place at all. Expect to shell out $20 a person (or more!) for microwaved food. The portion is inadequate for an adult, but you’ll be grateful because it tastes so bad. The noodles are soggy, the meat is tough, and the curries are flat with a mono-taste. The staff is very rude and doesn’t care about the diners, which tells us something about the owners of Zaab Zaab, I suppose. If, like me, you read the reviews *after* you paid them, please heart all the many 1-star reviews for visibility. As a side note, the five star reviews for this place are quite suspicious and seem to have no written content.

Really really terrible experience. Food was not tasty at all, portions were stingy, and extremely overpriced. For an order of 2 things for a takeout, it took 45 minutes for them to prepare. We waited there just standing… Food was already pre-prepared in the fridge (not fresh) so all that needed was just heating up from what we saw. For the insanely long wait, no apologies or anything to make up. We were very disappointed and also late to our concert. Never going back again. Don’t use this business, they don’t deserve your time and money.

Disappointing Experience at Zaab Zaab I ordered the beef noodle soup at Zaab Zaab, and my experience was pretty underwhelming. First, they skipped my order, so I had to wait longer than expected. When it finally arrived, I was surprised at how small the portion was—especially for the $16.33 price tag. For that cost, I expected a lot more. You’re definitely paying “Google prices” here, not getting value for what you’re spending. Not a place I’d recommend if you’re looking for good portion sizes or reliable service.

Food was decent. However, the service was terrible. I ordered from the kiosk. The workers just sat there doing nothing. When I asked them about my food, they started to prepare it. In the time they took to prepare my food, the bibimbap place next door served three of my family members. Sigh.

Yelp
Wow. I love when home-cooking and catering come together in a perfect space. Zaab-zaab means "delicious-delicious" in Thai so this play on words is literally that! I really appreciate the no-contact ordering as it makes things move along much quicker. The food was delicious and mild enough for my little one (we asked for all items with extra chilies / chili topping to be on the side). The server today was very kind and followed up if anything was too spicy. The Thai Tea is spot on and refreshing! The boat noodle has the perfect beefy flavor, some surprise tripe, plump meat balls and plenty of sliced beef. The Kao Soi curry noodles was the right amount of sweet and salty. The added crunchy from the fried rice papers was a nice touch. My favorite the nam kao tod does come with peanuts so those with allergy should request to not get this added as a topping. I wish it was served with more fresh lettuce as the dish is on the saltier side and deserves some fresh lettuce to balance it out (lettuce wrap style). All in all, a great spot for quick eats and flavorful food!

Yelp
After making a few indecisive trips around the Pier 57 food hall, I stumbled upon Zaab Zaab! I ordered the Lychee Frosé and it was delicious! It comes with 2 pieces of lychee and was just what I needed on a hot summer day. I will say it melted pretty quick and was priced at $14 but it hit the spot. You can taste a bit of the alcohol but not at all in an overwhelming way. I'd come back and try some of the food options!

Yelp
saw fresh ingredients behind counter and typed on a screen for green curry chicken -- 2 of them -- requested one to be mild (typed in a note) -- but they both came regular spicy (mild not an option) -- which was ok after all I liked the fresh lil' thai eggplants - sort of look like a combo of cherry-tomatos n' figs.. quantity was nice too - not too lil' not too much.. hit spot.. price $36 (includes tip) for two for a drink, I strolled to nearby Harlem Hops bar, got a quality brewski from tap.. ate at pulled-together marble tables with some church friends, to my left just beyong giant windows was Little Island, dwelling in green water under grey skies

Yelp
I'm a big fan of the Queens location and was excited to check out this outpost near my office. Came for lunch one day and tried the larb beef, which was absolutely incredible, and the sticky rice, which was great. Thai iced tea was a little sweet, so wouldn't get that again, but overall it was a super tasty meal. Will definitely return for more larb!!
