Small restaurant located in Casa Linda. Parking is abundant and the location is easy to find. There’s a couple of tables for indoor dinning, although most were doing take out. The curry fried rice was really good, you can pick your level of spice for each dish. Level 4 out of 5 was good and tasty, expected it to be spicier but it was fine. The beef jerky was also tasty. Make sure to get a Thai tea and sticky rice with ice cream for dessert. Super yummy!

Google
I was initially hopeful because the reviews on Dash looked promising, but Google is telling a different story, and now I see why. I’m giving 2 stars because customer service is a huge part of the experience, and this place completely dropped the ball. I called the store to make a simple request: no ice in my drink. The guy on the phone sounded annoyed and short with me over something that small. Then when I got my order, they only filled the cup halfway…. like leaving out the ice was such a burden they had to punish me for it? It was a weird, off-putting experience over something that should’ve been no big deal. Won’t be back. Follow up: I called the store back and the guy said "that's just how they come." So, before you drop $8 on a drink… just know this is what you're paying $8 for.

Google
I ordered Pad Thai with Tofu and Red Curry with Tofu both at a level 3 spice. Overall they were good but ran on the sweet side. The red curry had lots of tofu and sauce in it but just a couple pieces each of bamboo shoots, peas, peppers and basil. I definitely would have liked more fresh vegetables as authentic red curries usually have. Was served with Jasmine rice.

Google
We had DoorDash deliver the food. It was out of so tasty! The crispy rice salad was like nothing I have had before. It may be my new favorite dish. The chicken noodle soup with the home made noodles is so so so good!!! A really great flavor. We had tried them when they first opened and was super disappointed but not anymore! Yea, it was super good!😊 I did spend 75.00 on crispy rice salad, chicken noodle soup and pineapple fried rice (with extra vegetables and mixed meat so those were add ons). 2 big waters ate it for dinner and lunch. That also included a nice tip. I’m very happy with the amount of food that was given for the cost.

Google
I have no idea how the few recent negative reviews regarding the food could be possible, unless I'm just extremely lucky. This place is quickly becoming my favorite! We have been ordering from them through the delivery apps (primarily, DoorDash) at least 2-3 times per week for the past month or two and the food is consistently fantastic! Everything arrives piping hot, tastes fresh, and is perfectly cooked. In this house, we're addicted to the Pad Thai (with pork, both 'medium' and 'spicy' spice levels), Pad See Ew (with beef, 'medium' spice level), Laotian Fried Rice (both with tofu and with chicken, 'mild' spice level), and Curry Fried Rice (with beef, 'mild' spice level). We sincerely haven't a single complaint to date... nothing but praise. Truly, a gem of a restaurant! EDIT 07/18/25: I'm gonna just come back here to add another well-earned shout out. I've ordered two or three times since my original review above, and it remains fantastic! Today, I got two of our staples from above (both of which are always amazing) but also added an order of Pineapple Fried Rice (with chicken, 'medium' spice level), to try it. Y'all, this shit is DELICIOUS! Seasonings are perfect; spice level is perfect; pineapple chunks are juicy; rice texture is perfect; cashew texture is perfect; and onions, carrots & peas are hot, yet crispy. The raisins, I could honestly take or leave. However, that's simply because I'm not a big raisin person. There's nothing wrong with them. They taste just fine and add even more texture to the dish. I just don't think I would enjoy it any less if they weren't there. Once again, a triumph! If you're looking for a place to eat, you can't go wrong with this one.

Google
We were finally able to try this place out ! Did not disappoint, the red curry (spice level2) was delicious, sweet, savory, spicy! The drunken noodles (spice level 3) were so savory. We also had their cream cheese rolls, crispy and flaky, they are thin and a few come to an order.

Nina Hernandez

Google
seriously disappointed. I ordered fresh rolls and they left out my peanut sauce but added two oils instead which i’ve never had before. The only thing i ordered for lunch right before i go to work deep nights, so i’m stuck with this trash.

Bennie

Google
I don't like leaving reviews like this, but most of the food was inedible while being really expensive for a casual spot. We ordered 2 papaya salads-- both of them tasted rotten and were browning and somehow managed to be mushy. The mango sticky rice was super salty, and the mango on mine tasted rotten as well. I was also shocked at the half filled take out container for the $15 tomyum soup. The pricing would be considered high even if the food didn't LITERALLY taste rotten, so it was even worse that we had to throw out half of it. Seeing the other reviews, there is clearly a quality control and food safety issue going on here.

Yelp
This is a great little Thai place! Curry is EXCELLENT. Lots of variety, friendly and fast. The pineapple rice is outstanding. The riblets weren't too tasty.

Patti R.

Yelp
Have visited this location 4 or 5 times since they opened. Really enjoy the fresh food and great service! Pineapple fried rice is a favorite!

Yelp
The place started off okay, but i'm not sure if management changed or if the owners and managers got lazy. The front staff is great but the food is just horrible, i mean if you love the taste of roaches then be my guest, all the power to you (more protein). As an asian i've had my fair share of all kinds of asian cuisine, and im all for a hole in the wall, but this is like a dumpster with golden paint. avoid at all costs. don't even get me started on what they presume to call "thai tea" i mean for god's sake it should be illegal to sell that.

Yelp
Very delicious. My soup was very sweet. A bit too sweet and I have a sweet tooth. It came out piping hot so be careful not to just dig in. Def coming back.

Yelp
Thai & Laotian food is fresh, yummy, and plentiful servings! Service is responsive and quick. Ambience is nice for a store front operation. Love the pineapple fried rice ! The pork ribblets are super yummy!
google avatar

Yelp
Omg the Panang curry here was just delicious. The pad Thai is also very delicious. I will be back for sure

Yelp
This place hits the spot. Very clean and convenient location. Food comes out quick, and is delicious. Great portion. I'm a huge chicken fried rice fan, and this is some of the best I've had! Husband got the drunken noodles spice level 2 - not too spicy. I'm a baby, and thought it was fine. Will be back!

Yelp
We stopped here after going to the Arboretum since we are always in the mood for Thai. The restaurant is very small. We did the sit down experience and there are 5-6 tables although it seems to be primarily a take out place. This is definitely a dive kind of place the Guy Fieri would love. The prices are similar to a regular sit down restaurant. You order at the front and they bring you the food. Everything is served in plastic containers and spoons/forks are plastic which is not exactly environmentally friendly. The wife and I both got Yellow Curry--her's medium and mine mild. The flavors were very good, deep and rich. Mine was a bit sweet from the coconut milk while the wife's was pretty spicy even for medium. All in all, it was good Thai food. We liked the food and would consider doing take out again because some items on the menu look intriguing.

Yelp
**Edit after restaurant's reply: the restaurant they share a building with had power... I'm clearly not an electrician so not sure why one would have power and the other wouldn't. Most unprofessional establishment I've ever had to deal with. For reference, I order catering for our office every week. This week, we ordered from this specific Zaap location. Today, they were without power and did not reach out to myself or the catering coordinating team until 30 minutes AFTER the order was set to be delivered. So now I have nearly 50 people without lunch. Thankfully Dominos was able to accommodate us. I would have no issue if the restaurant gave us notice about this cancellation, but there was no communication until it was far too late. I would never recommend anyone to visit this location. I'd try my luck somewhere else first. Chiloso, located next door, it's delicious and never disappoints.

Yelp
This place never lacks flavor! This is our second time in this chain, this one is just different location but the flavor is consistent.

Yelp
Slow service. Wok wasn't cleaned. Food tasted burned. Not enough protein. Definitely could use some improvement.

Levi A.

Yelp
My wife and I have been loyal patrons of this place for years, but our recent experiences have compelled me to share our disappointment. The service started off slow but improved under Danny's management. However, since his departure, this establishment has been rapidly deteriorating, reverting to the chaos of its early days. The service is now abysmally slow, and the staff is outright rude, particularly during peak hours from 7-8 PM. The former manager, who has returned, is evidently incapable of managing effectively. Her attitude is consistently unpleasant, even when they repeatedly mess up our orders. Her response to mistakes is dismissive, and there is currently a new manager in training who appears lost and annoyed most of the time. On a recent visit, I ordered online for pick-up. Despite allowing ample time, our food was not ready upon my arrival, and it took an additional 45 minutes. During this wait, I observed other customers receiving their orders promptly, highlighting a clear lapse in service. When I finally received my order, it was incorrect. Items were missing, and my wife's dish, which needed to have no spice due to her allergy, was zaap spicy like my own. When she called to complain, the staff was dismissive and refused to offer any compensation unless we returned the food, which was impractical given our 20-minute drive. This isn't an isolated incident. In the past week alone, we've had incorrect orders on three separate occasions, each worse than the last, and we only called on the last order. Adding insult to injury, I've seen chefs and cashiers drinking in the back and outside, even with multiple orders waiting and customers in the lobby. This behavior is unprofessional and utterly unacceptable. The ambiance is also disrupted by loud Spanish music, further diminishing the dining experience. I strongly advise against visiting this location. The service is atrocious, the staff is unprofessional, and the management is utterly incompetent. This is the worst Zaap location, and we will never come here again. We would rather drive an extra 10-15 minutes to go to another Zaap location. Where the food is about the same quality and has more items on their menu, and the other Zaap customers service experience is better overall. I would recommends to go to Fitzhugh, Abrams, or Greenville location. I doubt it since I've heard the owner is rarely around and not involved in managing the restaurant like the other zaap, but I hope this review helps him understand the situation and finally take action or think about letting someone else from the other Zaap location manage the business because this is truly unacceptable.

Yelp
Not going to front, I was a sad seeing Szechuan Pavilion tap out, I mean, c'mon, it wasn't all that great, but quite nostalgic, my twin sister and I, at 10 years old, slurping down lukewarm low mein consisting of year old veggies, the bland fried rice and soggy sesame chicken....   Out with the old, in with the new! Zaap Kitchen is all that and more! Online ordering is such a breeze, here. The Zaap combo with the garlic riblets called my name. Ready in 10 minutes?? Oh yeah!   Masked up, ran in, grabbed my food faster than one could say, "Mask off".....   The riblets, delicious! I wasn't too sure on what I was eating so I casually, popped one in my mouth. DON'T DO THAT!! I almost needed some extensive dental work, because there's a bone! They were fried a little harder than I would've liked but still exuded great flavors. The sticky rice and cabbage was....uhhh....sticky rice and cabbage!   Call me "ignant" but I would've appreciated a dipping sauce...but what do I know?   Meh, I don't miss Szechuan Pavilion so much anymore.....

Sunny ..

Yelp
The food is excellent but I can't eat inside because the smell of Lysol is overwhelming. Take it to go.

Yelp
Holy crap!!!! This place is worth the high stars. God bless America that their spice level is ACTUALLY SPICY. I think some other Dallas places with a spice scale start with nothing and the second level is salt and the spiciest is just a ~little~ bit of spice. I got the level 4 (out of 5) and it was PERFECT for me. The red curry was real tasty and they gave a huge portion, also a ton of rice. Did I really only pay $10 for all of this? I'll order again for sure. Glad to have this place near.

Yelp
It's very small and they play Mexican country Music very loud. You walk up to the counter to order and wait at a table. They don't give you a number or anything. The art is awesome. They have a chock board wall that has drawings. Adding better music would really help. The cooks play music too loud and it's pretty awful ambiance as a result. This was our first time here and first impressions. The food took forever to come out. They do not give you a receipt unless you ask for it (hopefully). We got pad see eew and it was good. It comes with very big but thin slices of carrots and broccoli. We added chicken and it was overcooked and hard. It's sliced so thin that it can overcook easily. The carrots were soft and I enjoyed that. The sauce was very savory and tasty. The portions were decent for the price of around $28 for two w tax. It's a carry out kinda place with a few tables. Very well located. Overall I liked it but it could use improvements.

Yelp
I ordered Pad Woon Sen and Tom Kha Soup with noodles. Everything was great except that when I got home with my order, they put Pad Thai noodles in there instead of thin rice noodles which soaks up all of the liquid and isn't very tasty as a leftover .
google avatar

Greg R.

Yelp
I like hot and spicy. So I went for the ZAAP Spicy level which is their max hot and spiciness. Now with other places you can order the max spice level and barely get a bite. So disappointing, yet understandable since some white folk can't handle the bite. But not here. Their spiciness is a sweat breaking, mouth burning pleasure. And just for that, they get 5 stars!! Oh, by the way, the foods good, too.
google avatar

Durutti C.

Yelp
Got the Tom Ka and the flavor was watery and the chicken tasted tough and stale, as if it was cooked last week. This should be such an easy signature dish. Worst I've ever had. The Papaya Salad was served with half of a raw cabbage. I asked for recommendations and they said "most people don't eat the cabbage." Great, $10.99 for vegetables I'm not supposed to eat. Dining-in means wobbly tables and eating out of plastic containers with plastic spoons. I'll never return.
google avatar

Ning T.

Yelp
Tasty Lao food in minutes, sign me up! Love the variety of both Lao and Thai food. The spicy levels being offered definitely lights up your taste buds. Highly recommend the ribblets and drunken noodles, but only get level 5 spicy if you can handle your spice.
google avatar

Nadia A.

Yelp
Bad customer service from the young guy at front. The Thai tea tasted so bad, ordered drunken noodles w chicken and no chicken was in there at all. Noodles were oily and had no flavor. Go to Thai Thai and support a family owned business!
google avatar

Yelp
Really happy that this Thai restaurant opened in the Casa Linda area since the only other closest option was Pei Wei, which is not that great... This place is in a small shopping center off of Buckner Rd/Garland Rd. Not much seating inside, but because of the pandemic situation right now I wouldn't probably dine-in anyways. Online ordering is quick and easy: choose what entree/appetizer/side and pick the level of spiciness on a scale of 1-5. Very user friendly. I ordered 6 Zaap wings, Khao Poon Chicken soup, Chicken Panang Curry, and Chicken Pad Thai. To sum up the food: everything was delicious! Very fresh ingredients and creamy sauces. This place is much needed in the area, and I hope that the restaurant continues to provide great quality in food. My new go-to for Thai food!
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
More Thai than Lao, but that's fine, too. A quick and reliable place to get the classics like Pad Thai or Pad See Ew or try some Lao fried chicken.

Bhav P.

Yelp
Worst service ever. I placed a mobile order for pick up and was quoted 15-20 mins and have been waiting 30 mins and my order is still not done. We have been frequent visitors(a few times a month) and won't be back after today. After seeing someone after me pick up their order I asked what the delay was and they were never working on my order. Wtf. I get they're busy but this is unacceptable. I expect some sort of compensation for my wasted now 40 mins. I could've went to a sit down restaurant at this point.
google avatar

Teresa L.

Yelp
In response to the owner calling me out for asking for chili oil when complaining about the soup being too spicy, asking me why I would I want chili oil and then think the soup was too spicy. Why did I want chili oil? Because I LIKE hot food. Hence the problem with soup so being so spicy, I couldn't eat it. The owner also calls me out on the pricing. Here are screen shots of your menu. YOU sir are wrong. I paid over $20 for soup & egg rolls. Soup being inedible. Very bad business model to project it to be me. And I don't think your staff are mind readers, they couldn't get their noses out of their phones, while on your payroll. You are a smart a** and foolish to speak like that in a public forum. That soup was so nasty I wouldn't have asked for another bowl. Good luck with your sarcastic and condescending treatment of your customers.
google avatar

Mari A.

Yelp
Today my family and I tried the the Basil fried rice and chicken pad thai and they were delicious. The portions are a good size. The restaurant is clean. They also have joy ice cream sandwiches. The staff is courteous. I will definitely be back soon.
google avatar

Todd W.

Yelp
Boiled chicken and broccoli is not stirfry. And when someone ask for brown rice you should probably shouldn't give them white rice.
google avatar

Angel T.

Yelp
Tom yum soup, bomb! Got it with glass noodles! Pad Thai, bomb! Super good Pork riblets, super good!!!! Sausage, man this is the best Thai food in the area! Must try
google avatar

Nancy N.

Yelp
The staff here is personable and friendly! I got a few recommendations from the staff but now I always get the chicken noodle soup as well as the tofu curry fried rice! I love it super spicy so the 4-5 is really good to me but I recommend with people who are okay with spice to be 3 or lower. Definitely check them out!

Ellis M.

Yelp
Horrible service. Ordered two entrees for pickup. I got there, told them my name, and the dude finally found it. He said it would be ready in a few minutes. I waited for around 20 min. Nothing. Finally, the same dude came up to me and asked for the name of the order. I told him the name again and he didn't say anything and walked away. I was fed up with waiting because the order was promised 25 minutes ago so I went up to the counter and asked what was up. Turns out, they never started preparing my order even though it went through! I got a refund and got out of there. What a waste of time!
google avatar

Lori W.

Yelp
Worst Thai food in Dallas. I hate grub-hub they are the worst. Messed our order up and no way the fix it. I would look else where.
google avatar

Wayne H.

Yelp
Perfect for curbside. Huge portions and tasty. The staff was very friendly. We had fried rice, chicken pad Thai , crab Rangoon ( weird here) and spring rolls.
google avatar

Alida R.

Yelp
I'd been to the location of Zaap on Greenville, and stopped by the Casa Linda location for take-out before going to the Dallas Arboretum for a picnic. My guy and I got the yellow curry with tofu (amazing: very slightly sweet, super flavorful even at spice level 1, and with well cooked vegetables and potatoes - my yellow curry pet peeve is under-cooked potatoes!) and pad thai with tofu (also delicious; tangy and sweet but not cloying sauce). They take social distancing seriously, and are open for pickup or takeout but closed for dine-in for safety reasons, which I appreciate. Great option for Thai food in an area without other Thai places!
google avatar

Chris U.

Yelp
Okay, second time is the charm. Tonight we zero'd in on some of the better things on the Zaap menu at the new Casa Linda location. First note; be sure to order early on a weekend night as they are doing booming biz and a half hour wait time is to be expected. They do a TON of Uber Eats, so don't be surprised to see a ton of bags lined up on the wall that are not for you (or for Linda, or Ken, or Fred over there.) Having said that, DO order the Panang Curry, the Thai Spicy Basil Stir Fry (not with wide noodles as you might expect; though they offer one with rice.), the Spicy Stir Fry with added veg, the Nam Khao with a side of Bang Bang Sauce. (this is a wonderful fish sauce with a sour bite and red peppers...sooooo good!). What did we get last time that were not great? The Garlic riblets (lots of bone and fat, not so much rib), and the cream cheese rolls (very greasy... just pass and use your calories on something good... like the mango sticky rice!) Will look forward to a third trip to test some other great stuff. Judging from the lines even during a covid-y, strangely stormy August night, I would say this place is making east Dallas a great food destination!
google avatar

Cathy H.

Yelp
My favorite Thai restaurant in Dallas. Try the Panang Curry. The ice cream sandwiches are a perfect match as dessert. Delicious!!
google avatar

Yelp
Just tried it. Wow. Terrific. The Garland Road location has takeout. We are big fans of Thai and Asian food in general. Price was excellent. Food was fresh and tatty. The yellow curry was superb as was the Tom Kha soup was spot on. Support this new venue in Casa Linda area. We will make this part of the rotation. Takeout was smooth and safe.
google avatar

Yelp
Too salty larbsalad! Was not eatable. Too sweet curry soup, it was sweet like candy, and half filled container with two small potatoes and two baby carrots, that's a rip off. And rice was overcooked.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
Very friendly, always helpful. Will come back. Has a great selection of merchandise. Fun for all

Yelp
Love love Zaap. Great local Thai spot! My favorite dish is the Khao Poon Chicken. Its delicious and super flavorful. The Basil Thai rice is yummy but their Drunken Noodles are not great. So I would pass on those if you are picky with your Drunken Noodles. Great local spot and quick service.

Yelp
I typically love this place, however, I've boycotted it once before for awful customer service and now I'll be implementing this boycott for the SECOND time. No only was my order, that was placed online and picked up for togo, was wrong but the staff seemed confused by what I was trying to relay when I came in with my receipt, they ARGUED with me about my ordered and proceeded to tell me that the pangang curry I ordered was in fact correct. My fiancé and I both got curry, his red and mine pangang which is what I typically order and tastes of peanut sauce, both of which tasted EXACTLY the same, had the same vegetables and the same spice level which was a few spice levels above what I ordered. I wouldn't even be writing this review if they had just apologized and proceeded to provide me what I had originally ordered and sent me about my way but I was faced with not one but TWO employees who wanted to argue about the mistake. Don't go here if you're expecting good customer service or your complaints to be taken into consideration. There food is flavorful, but don't count of it being correct every time. Additionally, the first time I boycotted this establishment it was because they lost our order ticket and had to wait an additional 40 min for our food. I will not be back for awhile if ever again, which is disappointing because it's a great, convenient , East Dallas establishment. Get it together.... And at LEAST be considerate of the people keeping your establishment is business. Guest service is everything and it's really slacking here at this point. UPDATE: When I got home, it appeared that they just replaced the lid that was previously written on with a new lid and placed the container in a new bag.... This is the exact curry they gave me, which I should have known considering it came out 5 min after they argued with me about the dish. This place was completely disrespectful to me and honestly, you should consider taking your business elsewhere.

Yelp
This place is so yummy and our new go-to in the neighborhood! The pad Thai is perfect and they even got the heat levels down I also highly recommend their macaroon ice cream sandwiches for a sweet finish to the meal. The coffee toffee flavor is awesome and the texture is out of this world. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
First time eating here during lunch break it was really good, great service, friendly staff, very hidden place but the flavors of the food are really good. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
Had a party of 10 last minute. Ordered ahead.Food was very good, loved the soup.delivery was very punctual Will order again

Yelp
Just a star away from a 5 star review. But I'm giving a pass for the pandemic and great management that reached out to address my concerns. Everything was amazing except for the time it took for our takeaway to be ready. Unfortunately we could have had the whole meal in the time waiting. Ok. Now that I'm done complaining, the basil noodles were delicious. Great sauce and fresh vegetables. My husband loved the Thai Fried rice and my friend enjoyed the tofu pad Thai. The spring rolls were a hit at the table but I did not care for them as much as others I've had. They were a bit dry and stringy. The Shrimp Tom Kha was amazing. And I enjoyed the papaya salad for several days as I'm the only one who likes it. We will be back!

Sahel L.

Yelp
Great service and great food!!! Authentic lao/South East Asian flavors!!! 10/10 would recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Another unfortunate takeout experience. They did not include all the items ordered online, and we just found out when we got home. Had to go back to the store and get the remaining items. Obviously they are bad on quality checking their deliveries.

Rachel T.

Yelp
I ordered pad Thai with chicken and shrimp. The noodles were very stuck together. The tofu was severely dry. The chicken was severely dry. It looks like they basically had this for days and just put it in the microwave and reheated it. No fresh flavor.
google avatar

I Was Here L.

Yelp
The pad kee mao with tofu was delicious! I got spicy level five and it definitely cleared my sinuses. I also really enjoyed the tom yumm with tofu. I asked for bean sprouts instead of rice, and they honored that request; it was perfect. I really appreciate their service. Because of all of this I am giving them five stars. I will probably order from them at least once per month.

Yelp
I have been a customer of them for a while now, but today they lost a customer. I placed a pick up order as usual. When I arrived I walked to the area clearly labeled as "pick up". The man behind the cash register was busy checking out a customer. I was understanding. He then took the order of the next customer. He saw I was there and at no point was I assured I would be next. He proceeded to take the order of the third customer. Finally, I spoke up and let him know I was there for pick up. He said, "please go to the back of the line." The line has at least 8 people waiting to place an order. I left. They do not deserve a loyal customer. If you place an order expect to wait in line with the rest of the customers waiting to place an order. This business needs to work on their customer service and how they approach customers.
