The Best Cafes in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Known as one of the top micro-roasters in Montreal, Zab’s café-boutique on St-Denis is a great place to fuel up on caffeine or grab a bag of beans while riding the REV. While its indoor space is quite limited, this small shop is a solid destination for some good old-fashioned retail therapy — coffee equipment, tote bags, apparel, and other assorted merch." - Daniel Bromberg

I've had some of Zab's awesome roasts in other coffee places and even at home, and it's always been solid. Had the chance to stop at their cafe today and it did not disappoint. My latte was delicious, just the right dosage, and the toffee chocolate cookie was to die for. I'm not a fan of alternative milks myself but I think it's neat they offer the oat milk at no additional charge for those who prefer it. I also like their dedication to reducing waste by encouraging people to forego single use cups. They have them if you need one but they charge an extra, which I think is fair.

After seeing their beans around town I decided to pay a visit to their cafe. Not disappointed - the service was great, they had an interesting selection of espresso dialled in, and their staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. A good feature: they have coffee (in bulk) available for purchase and you can bring your own container or bag and purchase however much you need. They have several of their coffee varieties available for purchase in bulk or pre-packaged, along with a good selection of coffee brewing equipment. If you like coffee and have seen Zab’s beans around town, definitely stop in for a visit.

Charming coffee dispensary with knowledgeable staff. All beans are roasted locally and you can taste it in all of their coffees. Oat milk is used by default on top of that!

Having worked with their coffee, I know it's really amazing quality stuff. The Barista was very nice and helped us out with buying some new beans.

Every time I come here, I wonder why I don’t visit more often! The service is friendly and kind, their nitro coffee is beyond, the atmosphere is nice and it’s a perfect spot to people watch.

Decent expensive coffee. Tiny cafe space. Did not see any Gluten Free options.

I tried Rose miel latte and it was good. It was my first visit, the barista was nice and I liked the atmosphere of this cafe.

The coffee is so good, the vibes are great, I recommend getting a pastry from a close by shop and getting a nice coffee hit here to accompany it!
