Beautiful rooms and grounds. Very quiet with several well appointed rooms on the ground floor for relaxing. Fun outdoor fire with s'mores provided nightly.

Zabriskie House is absolutely gorgeous. From the moment you enter and are greeted by the innkeeper you realize that your stay will be a special experience. Rooms are beautifully appointed with exquisite bedding and toiletries. Restaurants are within walking distance and superb wineries dot Cayuga Lake for those desiring wine tasting adventures. A special treat was the lovely fire pit ringed with Adirondack chairs & comfy cushions.||Fixings for Smores are provided for a fun activity while meeting other guests at the inn. Our two night stay was fantastic and our innkeeper, Gerri, couldn't have been more welcoming. We hope to return to this beautiful inn one day for another stay. Highly recommended for a truly memorable visit to Aurora, NY.

My husband and I spent a weekend at the Zabriskie House for a combined birthday/anniversary celebration. It was restive, luxurious and just what we were looking for.||||We were unclear from the Inns of Aurora website exactly what to expect. We discovered a campus of large, gilded-age homes renovated to perfection and decorated expertly to blend modern art, light fixtures and bold furnishings with the traditional setting. Depending on the particular house you choose to stay in, you will either enjoy west facing (sunset) views of Cayuga Lake or be located right on it’s shoreline. ||||Each house has its own style and character. Zabriskie was decorated in bold but stately blues and green, peppered with modern art and lighting. Amenities including balconies, private fireplaces, heated bathroom floors and wet bars were available depending on the particular room reservation. ||||Each morning a continental-plus breakfast was painstakingly laid out by the Zabriskie innkeeper, Gerri. The array of coffees, teas, fresh fruits, oatmeal, local yogurt and the house special breakfast bars (surprisingly delicious), made for a wonderful start to the day. Wine by the glass was on offer each afternoon and in the evenings, Gerri drew up a fire pit with s’mores makings, hot chocolate and mint spoons. ||||Service was polished from check in through check out. Our questions were answered, recommendations were on point and the one minor issue we experienced (glitchy fireplace) was promptly fixed and Gerri insisted on bringing us a bottle of wine, of our choosing, for the “trouble.”||||Gerri’s ability to make guests feel pampered and at ease cannot be overstated. She attended to our every need (anticipating many of them) without interrupting our getaway weekend. Really thoughtful service is so rare at the moment and this was what set our experience apart from those available at comparable boutique or larger luxury hotels. ||||The nearby Rasa Spa, part of the Inns campus, was excellent. We spent several hours each day receiving treatments and taking advantage of the six thermal pools, hot and dry saunas, cafe and other relaxation amenities. The prices are high - at least for this part of the country - but the extras offered are well beyond any other day spa in western or central New York.||||We will be back and enthusiastically recommend the Inns to friends and family looking for a quiet, luxurious getaway.

We have been to Aurora a few times but never stayed. We did an overnight at the Zabriskie House and fell in love with it! The Inn has been beautifully restored a the decor is an awesome blend of traditional warmth and bold modern. We were upgraded to a room on the third floor that was cozy and a view of the lake across the street. Our Innkeeper Sue was an outstanding host, giving us a lot of history of both the home and the town. Out dinner was exquisite at the 1833 kitchen and bar, ,just a short walk from our Inn. We cannot wait to book our next stay in this charming village!

Great place for a short getaway… inn was recently renovated. Steps to the lake and surrounded by wineries. Everything you need for a long weekend or mid-week getaway is at your finger tips. The service quality at the restaurants and the in were fabulous. Gerri was our inn keeper, and she was extremely pleasant and on top of her game. Can’t wait to go back.

In the time of Covid and with NY state having the lowest infection rates (as of 11/19/20), my friend and I decided to stay in the state but get out for a much needed Girls' Trip. We put a drive time of 4 hours max into Google and the Inns of Aurora popped up. The place looked amazing and the price was on budget so we booked it. We'd heard good things about the Finger Lakes region, so that was a plus. But we were blown away by the Inns and their customer service. ||First, we got a call that we were upgraded from our twin room at the main house to one at the Zabriske House. We arrived to meet Margie, our Innkeeper, who greeted us at the door like an old friend coming for a visit (albeit, she--we--were all wearing face masks). She checked us in, showed us around this amazingly renovated house and to our beautiful room. It's just like the pictures, but gets even better when she told us the marble floors in the bathroom were heated!!!! The beds were so comfy and the pillows so plush. ALL the choices they made when renovating and decorating this house were on point. We put our stuff down and walked back down this amazing staircase, highlighted by a beautiful light installation and the first landing brings you to a gorgeous picture window with evergreens on display. Margie meet us at the bottom of the stairs with wine and a smores kit... No joke! The firepit out the back door, with gorgeous views of the setting sun over Cayuga Lake, was perfect for us to make our smores and relax after our drive in with our amazing wines (Treleaven semi-dry reisling and Lamoreaux Estate Red ||Cuvée). During the entire stay, regardless if we ate in the main Inn at the 1833 Bar & Restaurant, with the amazing meals (and wines, of course) or grabbed a home made granola bar--ahhmazing--and coffee at the House, the customer service is unparalleled. I've stayed in amazing hotels around the world, and by far, the staff of the Zabriske House exceeded those experiences! Especially Margie. She was amazing. She provided recommendations for wineries in the area to try (Bright Leaf and Quarry Ridge) as well as suggestions for an outing we had to Auburn (home of Harriet Tubman) and Seneca Falls (home to Women's Right movement) and recommended the Belhurst Castle for wine tasting and lunch... All on point and perfect for our adventure. We extended our stay another night and were lucky to have availability as they are usually booked. Being a romantic spot, getting a twin room was perfect for us. The food was amazing as well, from brunch to dinner, you have to eat at the 1833 Bar & Restaurant, the make simple, like an omelette or chicken, into devine meals! I will most definitely be coming back to the Inns of Aurora and the Zabriske House or any of their properties. These folks know how to do customer service right!!

We stayed in room 1 in ZH for two nights and loved every second of it. The entire house is cozy and has a nice and relaxing vibe to it. Our room was very spacious and had plenty to offer including a queen bed, twin bed and two nice chairs to relax in with some morning coffee. The bathroom included heated marble floors and a very nice shower. The innkeepers were amazing and super welcoming. Wine and cheese each afternoon near one of the fireplaces in the house was very relaxing and our innkeeper gave us great recommendations for wineries and eateries around us. Would absolutely recommend staying here! Also we took a tea blending class offered by the Inns and had a blast learning how to make our own batch of tea from scratch.

From the moment we arrived at the Zabriske House we felt like we were staying at a friends home. Gerry the innkeeper made us feel so welcome. The inn is beautifully furnished and our room was beautiful. There is a light continental breakfast in the morning with juice, coffee and homemade delicious granola bars. At 5:00 we enjoyed complimentary wine and cheese. In the evening s’mores sew provided by the outdoor fire pit. The lake is stunning across the street and there is free use of kayaks and paddle boards. Complimentary bikes are also available. We toured the new spa which hasn’t opened and it looks like one of the nicest I’ve seen anywhere. I can’t wait to return to try it. Dinner at 1883 was delicious. Overall an amazing few days.
