"An early-2000s-hipster-core joint in Plaza Midwood, Zada Janes is an eccentric breakfast-and-lunch-only spot. It’s got funky art, an old-fashioned hand-written waitlist, and an eclectic mix of coffee mugs. It’s casual and comfortable, making it a busy, but not impossible, spot to snag on the weekends. It’s got the classics, but also some Southern flair — hefty portions of sweet potato hash, local pork sausage, cheesy grits, or amaretto french toast." - Kayleigh Ruller, Nikki Miller-Ka

"It's impossible to be in a bad mood inside Zada Jane's, where golden-yellow walls display pieces by local artists—and where even the exposed ductwork has been painted purple. The menu at Zada Jane's reflects the kitchen's creativity and breakfast is a big deal. You'll find Mexican influences aplenty, plus some fun twists on standbys. Don't leave without trying the sweet potato hash browns and a frozen frappebeano." - Nancy DePalma

Oh my gosh!! You have to stop here. First time here today, and it was GORGEOUS out on the patio. The atmosphere- AMAZING. Food-So DELICIOUS. I got the chicken salad wrap and roasted potatoes. Drinks 100000/10. And our server (I believe their name was Ryan) was an absolute GEM!! Love them! They made my time there absolutely incredible with their recommendations and wittiness. 100000000000/10 recommend coming here.

This place in Charlotte NC is a must breakfast visit. Staff was on point with quick visits to table. Very knowledgeable of menu items. I had vegetable egg omelet with goat cheese- wowza, AMAZING, & super flavorful! Also, the special Amaretto pancakes they recommended? The compound honey butter? You can drop in and have this for dessert with coffee. I am making this restaurant as one of my favorites! Pictures do not do justice for the coolest vibe I felt. Go there! The biscuits are homemade, delectable, and melts in your mouth goodness! Try this. I hope you have my cool experience.

When it comes to brunch, Zada Jane’s is up there for me. This was my third visit & while it was a busy Sunday morning, they got us seated pretty quickly. (I do wish they took reservations for larger parties.) We all tried a variety of dishes & everything was delicious & full of flavor. I had the Bunny Rancheros (pork sausage) with a side of habanero grits and they were everything I was hoping for. The staff was friendly & accommodating! All in all a great experience yet again!

Google
Cute atmosphere and the food was decent. Our waiter was a total sweetheart and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. The only thing that we didn’t like were the pancakes. It literally tasted like cinnamon (very strong cinnamon). Also it did take awhile to be greeted. We stood at the door confused for about 10 mins until we went and found someone. (This could be to many places being understaffed)

Google
Wonderful brunch! Great service too! I started out with a cappuccino which was pretty frothy and delicious. I had the grande quande with potatoes and toast. The potatoes were yummy. I also loved the sourdough bread. The pancake was the winner. It had a wonderful flavor with some extra added cinnamon. Yum! I also tried my friends jalapeno grits. Also a winner. I could eat those with every meal. Our server told is they're even better with goat cheese! Next time! Overall very cute spot with fun decor. There is parking out back but not a ton so be prepared. I was there on a Friday for lunch and it wasn't very busy so I scored a spot. It is handicap accessible but the lot is gravel so keep that in mind. Will definitely be back. I love the local ingredients!!

I enjoyed brunch here with 6 friends today. The decor is funky as are the waitstaff. Next time I visit, I'll have breakfast. Food was mixed opinions.. Two people said they liked it, but only ate half and didn't take it to go. Our table had both breakfast and lunch items. For portion size, its quite expensive.. Even for organic! I had the green mindmelt, which was very small (I expected to be burger size with 2 portabella mushrooms if one was small, which it definitely was). With that being said, it was very good. The side potato wedges were edible, but dry. The sweet potatoes had a strange flavor like maple syrup.. They were a flop for 3 of us. My friend asked for a medium well hamburger and it came out dripping blood. Thankfully, they remade it and she liked it.

I'm feeling so fortunate that I happened to visit for brunch on the last day ever ... What a great atmosphere, vibe.... And excellent food. Sad to know I can't return another day ... Grateful I made it just in time! I wish everybody well.

Delicious breakfast! My wife and I were in Charlotte for the day and came here for breakfast. It's a small spot that has a very "everyone knows everyone" kind of atmosphere that made us feel at home. I got the pancakes because pancakes haha! They came with honey butter which was a major win. My wife got eggs frittata style. The eggs had a sweet potato bottom- delightful! This is a great place and well worth the visit.

Yelp
Came here for Mother's Day and I really enjoyed my meal! Zara Jane's can be a hit or miss at time but today was a hit. I had the avocado toast but I do the guacamole over just avocado which adds great flavor. Bacon was good too! It was busy but our waitress was on it!

Kellie D.

Yelp
So glad we discovered this little gem for breakfast. They had standard dishes as well as more unique ones. I ordered the Booker T's East Side Hasher which was described as sweet potato hashbrowns topped with frittata style eggs with your choice of meat, green onions and cheese. I chose the chipotle chicken. There was an up charge for it but that was noted on the menu. I would not have described the swee potatoes as hash browns. They were softer with the flavor of a sweet potato casserole, but I like all sweet potatoes so still enjoyed it. Husband ordered the Blazin'' Saddles omelette. He said it had a bit of kick with the fresh jalapeños which he likes. Husband really like the apple butter on his biscuit. Overall service was good and portion sizes were generous. I'f like to return and try some of the other menu options.

Yelp
Visited one of my BFFs from college and she took me here for breakfast. She asked me if I wanted a local, hippy-ish vibe with good food and I said yes! I love myself some shrimp and grits so when I saw it on the menu from brunch I could not say no. So glad I ordered it because it was one of the best shrimp n grits that this Northerner has ever had! It was hearty and so tasty I think I licked my plate clean. We also ordered a bottle of champagne and orange juice to make mimosas, cuz why not I was on vacation! Pretty good decision in ordering the bottle instead of just a glass, as it was a better deal. Our server was very helpful and outgoing and very prompt. Overall it was a great experience for me and the food was delicious. We even got to sit outside as it was a beautiful day out!

Yelp
A small group of friends went for Saturday brunch. Everything was just ok. Parking was challenging on a Saturday afternoon, but we were able to park in the parking lot diagonal to the restaurant, which was two-hour parking. There is some parking in the back of the building, as well as street parking available. The ambiance and decor is eclectic, which I appreciated. It was a busy time for the restaurant, but we felt forgotten at times. We received our food a little cold, and one of the group members sent the food back to be heated again. We ordered the cinnabuns to share, which was the best part of the experience. We were very hungry, so I didn't get a photo. The pecan compote was the perfect compliment to the cinnamon rolls- they were just right. I ordered the basic breakfast, and was distracted and forgot to take a picture before I started eating. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese with the sweet potato hash, turkey sausage, and a biscuit. The texture of the hash was not what I expected, and it reminded me more of candied sweet potatoes. Everything else was just ok. It was a nice place for friends to gather, but the food didn't draw me in.

Yelp
This is quite a wonderful restaurant in Plaza Midwood, one of the coolest areas in Charlotte. FOOD: The food is delicious and what you'd typically find in an American breakfast restaurant. I had the regular breakfast meal and a latte and both were delicious. There are other options from French toast to pankakes and more. SERVICE: The service was amazing! Our server was super friendly, very colorful and helpful. AMBIANCE: This place is on the corber on Plaza Midwood's main street, so it was busy, noisy and diverse. This is not your place if you like quite places. PAKING: Zada Jane's is located in an standalone building with its own free parking lot. Beware, it's a small parking lot, so it gets full fast and parking becomes a challenge during busy times. Overall, good stuff and can't wait to come back.

Brynt L.

Yelp
Oh Zada... I really wanted to like this place. For starters, the location is great and the dog-friendly patio is much appreciated. The service was great, but the food left much to be desired. We started with the cinnamon rolls, which boasted a pecan compote. What they brought out was disappointing to say the least. The compote was not very appetizing and tasted mushy. The cinnamon rolls themselves seemed to be canned and entirely not worth the price. My omelet was very dry and lacked flavor. We also had the biscuits which were rather dry. The apple butter certainly helped. Overall, okay cafe but the food didn't quite hit the mark.

Cierra M.

Yelp
A great spot for breakfast or lunch. I typically go for lunch. My favorite item (pictured) is the Druther's Clucker. Which is their grilled chicken sandwich with Mozzarella cheese, caramelized onions and mayo on foccia br get your choice of side, this time I chose a salad with honey balsamic vinaigrette. (All dressings are made in house btw)

Giovanni V.

Yelp
It was pretty good on a Saturday noon. The French toast was average even though it was pretty hyped. Good service. Friendly staff.

John Z.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere, located in plaza Midwood the restaurant is situated right along the strip of bars and brunch spots. The interior has the vibe of a local diner and the servers are very friendly. The service is really good! We had very attentive servers who made sure we got our food and orders in a timely manner. The food itself was the highlight. I've never had a biscuit as flaky and butter as the one I had there. Additionally the omelets were very thick and flavorful. If you want; you can make your own omelet which is elite. Will definitely come back to this restaurant again

Audry G.

Yelp
The staff and service were awesome. The selection. From the menu are incredible. The quality of the food is superb. Then why 4 stars? Who ever was on the grill that morning needs retaining My scrambled eggs were browned in some parts and uncooked/raw-slimey on other parts. The turkey sausage was a dry hockey puck. But.... my tequila sunrise made up for it.

John D.

Yelp
I ordered pancakes to go. They burned the pancakes. When I called to get refund of what was burned they only offered a gift card. Why would I want a gift card to spend my time going to a place that does not care about their food quality?

Mandy G.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time here and loved the outdoor seating. Was a great spot for morning brunch and enjoyed watching the city wake up on a Sunday as we ate our breakfast. Only bummer is the North Carolina doesn't allow mimosas to be served before 11am. I've been in NC for over 5 years and still get taken off guard at times so just heads up. Good food & good coffee. All around solid brunch choice.

Michael M.

Yelp
Shrinkflation has come to our place we loved. We get the same thing each week. Pancakes have shrunk, omelette no longer makes sense and prices to high. Sorry to say goodbye, so long Zada. Good ride for a long time.

Erin S.

Yelp
Wasn't impressed with Zada Jane's. We went for brunch. I tried the Zada's Cinnabuns ($9.25), which were good, but I don't feel the need to get them again. I got the Belvedere ($10.95) with the sweet potato browns as my side. I wanted the sweet potatoes to be more like hashbrowns, but they were just boiled or something. My sister also got the Belvedere and her omelet was overwhelmed with goat cheese. The overall experience was average.

Lindsey V.

Yelp
I came here for brunch one time and was blown away! I had never heard of it but my friend suggested it. It's definitely a hidden gem of Charlotte. It's not like the typical brunch spots where you either need a reservation or have to wait an hour to be seated. We sat right away and the service was quick. You can just tell when you eat their food that it's very fresh ingredients and not soaked in oils when it's being cooked. The food was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The hash browns had a perfect crunch, the biscuits were so fluffy (get apple butter with your biscuit!), and the breakfast sausage had so much flavor and a crunch to the casing. Will be back for sure!

Justin W.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting this establishment, and I was well pleased. The food was cooked exactly to my liking, and the fun music, and aesthetic made the experience that much better. Sarah, our waitress, was a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be back.

Tiffany T.

Yelp
We came here because of a recommendation for our Airbnb host. This place did not disappoint. I had Benny's rancheros and my husband the shrimp and habanero grits. Both were amazing!! We sat outside our server was great. We would return if back in the area.

Laura W.

Yelp
New to clt and have made Zada Jane's my go to brunch spot so far! Super eclectic, food is yummy, the pork sausage is worth the up charge! Nice service and the parking lot in back is a plus. This will def be a spot to come eat outside with my pup when the weather warms up

Stephanie J.

Yelp
Zada Jane's was an okay option for breakfast. I ordered an apple juice and the amaretto french toast with a side of fruit. I wasn't huge on the flavor of the french toast but my friend really enjoyed her meal. I also thought that it was a touch slow to get our food but the service was good.

Tori E.

Yelp
I came here for brunch at 11:30AM with 4 people for my birthday. When we got there, I was told it would be about a 30-45 minute wait. Everywhere else I wanted to go, the wait was somewhere between an hour to 2 hours, so this was going to be fine in my book. The hostess took my name and phone number and my sisters, friends and I walked across the street to get some coffee while we wait. By the time we got back, we had about 15 more minutes to wait until we expected to be seated. 15 minutes went by and we watched 3 other tables get seated outside on the patio. At this point, we figured we must be next on the list and the hostess came outside about that time. She confirmed we were next. Well, after about 15 more minutes, we were all starting to get "hangry," so I went to find the hostess to find out how much longer it would be. She apologized and said she is trying her best to get these two ladies to leave who have been there since 10AM. We all recognized that none of this was truly her fault and we appreciated her concern and politeness, so we just assured her it was okay. We waited about 20 more minutes and at this point, we couldn't leave. Even if we wanted to, there would be another wait elsewhere! If I had known I was going to wait this long from the get go, I would've just gone to the other place I originally wanted to go to before Zada Jane's. Suddenly we saw a couple get up from their table and the man actually told us to take their table because they were watching us from the moment they got sat, to the end of their meal. Clearly, they pitied us. We thanked them just the same, but still waited for the hostess to bring more chairs to the table and tell us it was okay to sit there first. By the time she confirmed it was our table, we were so relieved and ready to eat and drink, after all that mess. Then, our server came to take our drink order about 8 minutes after we sat down. He had seen us waiting to be sat the whole time and despite that, he still came to our table with a very snappy attitude. At this point, I was just hoping and praying the food was good so that I could actually enjoy it here. Good news! It was good. It was actually the only good thing about this place. Our server ended up apologizing to us for his snappy attitude when he came back to take our order. To me, an apology goes a long way so I appreciated that. To make a long story short, we got there at 11:30AM, got sat around 1PM, got our drinks around 1:20PM & food around 2PM and left by 3PM. Seriously, if the food wasn't good and the hostess wasn't as genuine, I would have easily given this place 1 or 2 stars. I'd like to say I'd come back here again, but I just don't know if it's worth all of that hassle again. By the time we left, I felt like a good chunk of my day was lost.

Rob D.

Yelp
Cool place with Funky Vibe. All the staff were super nice. The Rancheros was amazing. I got it with the Local Sausage, which was a little spicy (YAY) and very tasty!! The B.E.C. Biscuit was big and delicious.

Savannah H.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were out of town due to Hurricane Dorian. We stopped in Charlotte on our way back to Charleston from Gatlinburg. I have friends who live in Charlotte who let us stay with them for the weekend. They took us to this restaurant for brunch on Saturday. I ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy. I also ordered a fruit cup and extra crispy bacon. Everything was sold separately, seemed like. As always at brunch time, I ordered coffee. The refillable kind. Which always seems to be regular ole coffee. The restaurant had a lot of art work for sale on the walls. The art work looked pretty cool and was actually reasonably priced. It was art I would buy for a price I can afford. That part was cool. The food tasted pretty good. The sausage was a little spicy. The looks of the biscuits and sausage gravy almost scared me off with the huge puddle of grease floating at the top. I ate it though, and later regretted that. I felt sick to my stomach for most of the rest of the day. Also, my bacon came out rubbery. Therefore, I did not eat it. I asked for extra crispy bacon... The service was decent. I liked the art work there. If grease bothers you, I recommend getting the biscuits and gravy minus the sausage. My friend got that and hers looked way less greasy than mine did.

Tyler G.

Yelp
I can't believe this week was my first time visiting. I've always seen this cute restaurant in Plaza. So glad I was able to stop by. The food was delicious! My friend came back the very next day. I'm excited to try other menu items.

Johnny B.

Yelp
I travel extensively, spending nearly every morning in a coffee shop/breakfast spot both here and abroad. I LOVED the vibe of this place. Owner waited on me as I sat at the counter. delightful! fun music, great energy. knocked off one star for two reasons. If $20 for black coffee and breakfast, the portions need to be heartier. my two skinny, scrawny pieces of bacon were sad. the sweet potato hash was not what I expected. it was like boiled sweet potatoes, not hashbrown like but still tasted good. the other thing is they charge for soda water, that's a hard no. But overall, still great experience. I'd go back.

Yelp
I was blessed to visit Zada Jane's during a visit to Charlotte for an initial meet-up with my realtor. Luckily, Zada was just located about 5 mins from where I was staying in the Plaza Midwood area. We sat in their outside seating and let the heat burn our arms while people watching I call it LOL. After about 5 mins, a gentleman came out and took our order. While we waited we were given some ice cold water to quench our thirst. Luckily, it didn't take long for our meals to come out. There was a lot to choose from but I ended up ordering the "Blazing Saddles", which consisted of an perfectly made omelet filled with chicken, black beans, pepper jack & jalapenos (watch out for the heat!) topped with salsa and sour cream. The sides consisted of toast & herb roasted potatoes. This was by far one of the best brunch meals I've ever had & can't wait to come back! So if you ever have Charlotte on your list of travels be sure to bookmark this place & enjoy the view !

Callie C.

Yelp
Our server, Jamie, was more than attentive and kind! Recommend the shrimp and grits. Make sure to make a reservation on the weekends, super busy for a reason!!

Nishi S.

Yelp
I would give it a 3 star since I only liked 1 thing out of 3 we ordered. Loved loved loved the sweet potatoes side dish and French toast . The yellow curry dish was really weird, you could literally taste the turmeric. Omelette was just okay. So overall it's good but it depends ur taste and what you order.

Abby L.

Yelp
A very bad experience here at my last visit!!! It was a weekday breakfast that took over two hours!!! There were 2 parties ahead of us, yet it took FOREVER for the staff to clean tables and get us seated. And then on top of that wait, it took FOREVER for us to get our food. It was just my sister and I, so it's not like we had some big extravagant order. The waiter spilled drinks cups breaking the glass and sending soda all over my sister. I don't even think he realized he got it all over her and our table. When the food finally came out we found a hair in the eggs. So then on top of the ridiculous wait, we had to wait even longer to get another set made. When the final set came out, it was not cooked correctly!!! The waiter said that had been going on all day. Well maybe you need a new chef! I wasn't a huge fan of this place before hand, but now I'm just disgusted. I don't think I will be coming back anytime soon.

Cameron F.

Yelp
I have been going to Zada Jane's for 10 years and I unfortunately won't be returning. There is clearly a management/ training / service issue that needs to be addressed. This past Saturday I went for breakfast with a small party of 3. We kindly waited for about 15-20 minutes with coffee before being seated. The hostess was really nice and welcoming. They let us sit outside while we waited with our coffee, which we also appreciated and thanked them. Here is where the experience goes down hill - we get seated and immediately realize we don't have a server. The staff was running around like crazy and you could see empty tables throughout so we were really confused as to what was going on. 20 mins in we ask the hostess if she can find our server, which she begins asking around, and magically our server decides to walk over and ask for our drink orders. We order water and coffee, and our server disappears again. 20 mins go by - wondering when we will ever get water/coffee. Server finally remembers my coffee order, brings just my coffee to the table, and nothing else - which then makes it very irritating because we have now been at the table for 40 mins without water for the table. We then proceed to order food because we have zero idea when she will be back. She writes everything down, but then disappears. After 1hr 15 mins of waiting I walk up to the bar to tell them how disappointed I am and that we are leaving and to cancel our food. They apologized several times but there was no sense of urgency in that restaurant, especially with our server. She could have cared less - wish I could remember her name. I normally don't post stuff like this with restaurants I really like, but this needed to be said in the fact that maybe these issues can be improved upon. Have servers check in with all tables, even if it looks like they may not need anything. Water should be something that's just automatically brought to the table. Coffee takes 2 mins max to bring to the table. These are really simple, easy requests.

Allison W.

Yelp
We went for breakfast and it was great. The grits and the pancakes were fantastic! Parking is scarce, so be prepared to take some time finding a spot

Hema K.

Yelp
Long wait on a Sunday with seating being a bit unorganized -- it seemed several people who came after us were seated first. Cute eclectic vibe, and once we were finally seated the service was excellent. I wanted to stray away from my usual brunch go-to items and try something unique, so I ordered the Booker T's East Side hash with soysage. This was not great for me - strange combo of sweet and savory and enough [unmelted] cheese that I could feel my arteries clogging as I ate. I didn't find the dish to be particularly flavorful until I poured on a ton of hot sauce. I will say the TLC biscuit was fantastic. Portion sizes are big, lots of veggie substitutions are available, and the servers are friendly... but the food missed the mark for me. If I returned, I'd stick with Benedicts or rancheros.

Kim S.

Yelp
This place like many other restaurants is clearly understaffed but the skeleton crew is trying to do a good job under the circumstances. The food of course suffers as a consequence of the shortages. I had shrimp and grits that was on the greasy side. However as a group we managed to have a great time amongst ourselves. Can't wait to regain some normalcy like it was before covid. I am hesitant to rate this place because everyone is trying to keep their heads above water. If you're realistic and have reasonable expectations and if you need a place to get together with friends I would give this place a chance.

Brittany S.

Yelp
I do like this place but as many times as I've been here, it's usually hit or miss. Generally the food is good, with some seasonings depending on what you order. Food is priced well for the quality (get what you pay for in a sense), drinks here are pretty overpriced- especially if you're wanting mimosas, they don't have drink specials or anything. Sometimes it's busy, sometimes it's not. I recommend calling ahead just to check for sure. It's an 'old faithful' kind of small spot. As for the service, the servers are always nice, not the cleanest establishment (there have been flies flying around the past two times I've been here).

Jaiah W.

Yelp
From the outside it looks like a small breakfast cafe and the we ended up here because the wait at our other place was still over an hour long although we had already been on the wait list. We walked up and asked if we could be seated at the bar and were seated right away. The food smelled amazing walking through the doors. I asked the server for suggestions and she said the Orange Amoretto French Toast was a favorite if customers and I ordered it and had a side of home fries and turkey sausage. EVERYTHING tasted so good and was fresh. I cannot wait to go back!

Cassie O.

Yelp
Friendly staff food is made with love and atmosphere feels like you are surrounded by friends. I came here for mother day breakfast and was greeted with a rose. Sat the bar and they were making mimosas first thing in the morning almost bloody Mary's seem to be very popular but I've never had one. We chose 2 breakfast platters with eggs and a protein and potatoes. It was the best we have had. If u eat at Waffle House just stop it and give this place a try the QUALITY of the food is phenomenal and the atmosphere will make u stop by Just for coffee or for brunch. Whenever I want breakfast food this will be my go to place. I just wish they were closer to me but don't worry it's worth the 30 minutes drive.

Shannon W.

Yelp
Can you say cheap brunch at Zada Janes?! I would say the brunch menu is not as extensive as other places I've seen, but there are some standout dishes as well as lunch options as well. Sometimes this helps narrow down what you want to eat though! The nachos sounded super appealing, what I liked the most about it was that it is inherently vegetarian, coming with SAUTÉED veggies and guac on top of everything else, for just $9- only an extra dollar for meat, equaling $10! How many places give u sautéed veggies and meat on top of blue corn tortilla chips?! When I saw the size of the thing I was blown away by a mountain of food waiting to be explored. It was so yummy and felt very healthy and fresh too. Not only that, but it balances out the boozy brunch mimosas that are a great deal too.. among us 3, the whole bottle of champagne was only $15- literally that's like 3-4 glasses per person! To top it all off, they gave us complimentary cinnamon buns because they were taking a bit of time to come out of the oven, but honestly I was having too much of an amazing eating adventure. Bravo Zada Janes!!

Julia M.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. My boyfriend and I came here for brunch and we both cleaned our plates and wanted to order more. The avocado toast was fresh and delicious. Everything was amazing!!

Alisha B.

Yelp
Zada Jane's is such a cute, yummy brunch place! Great service and food. Definently overestimated how much I can eat. The portions were quite large for the meals. The Brooker T's East Side hasher was great! Loved the biscuit to go with it and great pancakes. This place has some dishes you may not see in every other brunch place. The sweet potato hash below the entree is different and oh so good. Located in Plaza Midwood, I highly recommend

Danielle M.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. So we went in with 7 people and the waiter said she couldn't seat 7 so we said ok well we can do 5 and 2 and we don't need to sit to together. She cut us off and started slamming dishes around. She said 5 of us with two waiting then people came in behind us and it was a group of two and she sat them ignoring the two left in our group who were there before and sat them lol. She was so rude and we will never be back because of her. Worst service ever.

Yelp
Visiting from Tampa FL for a long weekend. Came across this place on a whim. The outside doesn't seem very appealing, but the food is fantastic! I ordered the Bunny Rancheros and I have to say it was the best thing I have ever had for breakfast! My friend had the Amaretto Almond French toast and said it was delicious! We had a lovely server, Kris with a K! She was very attentive and personable! Zada Jane's is a gem! I can't wait to come back and dine here again! 10 stars, if that's possible!

Yelp
Parking is sparse. Up charge of $3.25 to sub a pancake for the dry, overcooked biscuit. Server said I get a side with my meal and I chose fruit. Got my bill and it's an up charge. $1.50. Why wouldn't you tell me that? I asked and he said oh sorry. The pancake came after I had finished the rest of my food. It had like cinnamon or something in it which also isn't specified on the menu. The biscuit could serve as a rock as well. All bad.

Yelp
Before I hit the road on Sunday to return to the DMV, my friend and I stopped in Zada Jane's for breakfast. There was a 20 min wait, so we walked to a local coffee shop to burn some time. We were seated (inside) soon after we returned. The restaurant is quaint, but bright, and its motley decor adds to its Southern charm. Soft spoken Steven was our server. He did a good job covering the featured items and answering questions. We ordered a few things to assess the menu. My entree was the crab omelette with herb potatoes. We also ordered jalapeño grits. The potatoes were well seasoned and those grits were really good with so much flavor packed into that little cup. However, the omelette didn't live up to my expectations. The egg base was really thick and over cooked. Also, the Boursin cheese that adds the creaminess was not evenly distributed. That omelette could have been a lot better with a little attention. My gf had this local favorite bookmarked for quite sometime so I was glad to try it out. Not sure when I'll return but it was a pleasant experience nonetheless.

Yelp
We ordered 2 Grande Quandes! I ordered over easy egg, habanero grits, bacon, sourdough, with a plain pancake. He ordered scrambled eggs, clearview sausage, herb potatoes, with a banana pancake! Everything was perfect!!

Yelp
Really swanky type place with a super cool vibe and great food! So since my cousin said this was one of the best food places in town, we decided to stop here for some breakfast. Upon walking in, I noticed some really cool art work on the wall and a bar in the middle of the restaurant. When we came we had to wait a few minutes because there was no one here to greet us or show us to our seats. After a while, the waitress came around and let us know it was ok to sit wherever we wanted. Once we sat down, we were greeted and served by "Megan" (I believe that was her name) who was the general manager of the restaurant. She let us know that they were a little short staffed and that she would be our server for today. We both ended up ordering the "Shrimp and grits" along with the "Fluffy biscuits and gravy" and the "Sweet Potato Spuds". The food was DELICIOUS! The flavors in the "Shrimp and Grits" and cheese was really good! Additionally, the whole time we was there they played some really good "soulful" type music that really set the vibe for this place. Overall, it was a great place to be! The only reason I didn't give it the full "5 stars" is because we had to wait around a little bit for the host and the waitress however this would not steer me away from coming back.

Yelp
Visited this morning for the first time and will definitely be back. I had a biscuit sandwich with goat cheese and turkey sausage and the Mr. had the Slice of Life Benedict. Both were tasty and eaten before pics could be taken. We also ordered some cinnabuns for takeaway and look forward to digging into them later.

Yelp
This place was overly hyped after a 45 mins wait got a chicken on foccacia with caramelized onions that appears it was a part of. Hlf m soup half sandwich deal, but it wasn't. My wife ordered pancakes and turkey sausage, where the pancakes came burned on one side and the turkey sausages were extremely rubbery. I wil not go again or recommend to anyone else.

Yelp
Our server Ryan was timely and polite as well as attentive. He came and checked on us throughout the time of our visit. I asked for my food (Billy Jack Grits) to have no green peppers or green onions as a garnish on top (I have frequented this location many many times so I knew what to ask to exclude) Upon the delivery of my food I saw that there were green onions garnished on top and said that i asked for none of that to be on top of my food the woman who served our food told me it was only green onions and to pick them off and asked if I needed tweezers to pick them off. I am so infuriated that a person who is supposed to be preparing my food felt the need to provoke me based off of a preference for my order that was prepared incorrectly.

Yelp
My family & I ordered, Billy Jack grits, Booker T hash, and Zadas basic breakfast. BILLY JACK GRITS had little to no grits, it was a bowl of dry meat with burnt cheese on top. BOOKER T HASH, was also very dry & the sweet potato bed was not a hash at all was more like mushed candied yams. ZADAS BASIC BREAKFAST, eggs were over cooked, sausage was over cooked making them both dry and flavorless. All pork was replaced with Turkey, and it was all over cooked. My family and i only ate about a quarter of each dish and that was because we were hungry, it was that bad. The habanero grits which were served room temp and potato spuds were the only decent things about our meal. I had high hopes, but unfortunately for Zada Jane's I will not be back.

Yelp
This is such a quaint and easily overlooked cafe! The atmosphere is very chill, the employees are super nice and it has an amazing neighborhood vibe. We were planning to go somewhere else but I it was way too crowned so we found Zada Janes. We were immediately seated when we arrived and I ordered the Chai latte. It was served in an very large mug (they have a mixture of mugs which is awesome) and was so delicious that I ordered a second. For my meal I had a breakfast burrito - eggs, bacon, spinach, mushrooms and cheddar. It was very tasty and the side of guacamole made it perfect. My husband had pancakes that tasted like French toast and turkey sausage. The pancakes were crispy on the edges just like I like them (they were his but I tasted them). The turkey sausage was very good and seasoned well. Will definitely be back. These neighborhood spots are gems and have to be supported.

Yelp
The food is delicious and eclectic. They also have great options for vegetarians, which can be hard to find in Charlotte outside of ordering a salad with fries. Good atmosphere, friendly staff.
