The 17 Best Caribbean Restaurants In Philly

"Zion’s Cuisine is one of our go-to spots in the city for Jamaican food. The oxtails here are extremely succulent, smothered in a tangy gravy, with the perfect amount of peppery spice. Each platter is made-to-order and comes with your choice of two sides. Our favorites are the rice and peas and a creamy mac and cheese that will have you considering getting a tattoo of an elbow macaroni. " - candis mclean

Zion’s Cuisine Review - Germantown - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Zion’s Cuisine is one of our go-to spots in the city for Jamaican food. The oxtails here are extremely tender and smothered in a tangy gravy, and each platter is made to order and has the perfect amount of spice. The platters also come with your choice of two sides, our favorites being the creamy mac and cheese and cabbage that’s both smoky and well-seasoned." - Candis R. McLean

Omg amazingly delicious! And and the wife really enjoy The Whole experience. The curry jerk and rice with ox tail juice was the best combination ever! First time customers and definitely will be back. It’s dine in also. And you don’t free rushed. Suggest a medium because it’ll fill you up and some to take home 😂 love this place

It’s very rare that I find a Jamaican restaurant that hits the nail on the head when it comes to quality, taste and pricing. I ordered a large oxtail with rice and peas, mac and cheese and candied yams. What I appreciated the most is that the food wasn’t overwhelmingly seasoned ( like too sweet or too salty ) to the point where I couldn’t actually enjoy the food. It was absolutely delicious! Portions are very generous, oxtail was cooked perfectly where they fell off the bone. Service was kind and warm. Will definitely be back again!

Absolutely delicious food. Great prices! The best Jamaican/ carribean spot in Germantown without a doubt. Order from here you will not be disappointed.

I normally get stuff from here off of the togoodtogo app. If you have not checked out the app, your missing out. Most delicious Jamaican cuisine in the area.

Meat was very savory and rich in bbq and the rice was nicely seasoned. Very nice staff. Go support small businesses like these!

Oxtails, mac n cheese, and collard green are great. The rice n peas could use more flavor. People there are nice. Portions are big.

Honestly, this place disappointed me 😐 very unsatisfied. It looked so good. like ooo let me post this but it was not tasting very Jamaican. I expected it to BUSS and it didn’t. Yams was ard thou. not worth my $24 😩😩😩 I had the oxtails rice & peas, collard greens & yams. I had to add salt that’s a first 😮

I love Zion's Cuisine. It is a neighborhood gem and I will miss it if/ when I move out. I usually get brown stew chicken, beef stew, or pepper steak. The food is affordable, delicious, and healthy, and a large platter is good for 2-3 big meals (I do use rice from home to stretch it). Zion's is my go-to when I don't have the time or energy to make something decent for myself. No restaurant review is complete without a criticism, so: I wish they made it clear what is available each day. This goes for all Jamaican spots, but it seems like every day there is something they don't have. Knowing what's available with an updated list (instead of an interrogation at the order counter) would also give me the opportunity to try dishes I haven't before, such as their soups and breakfast items. Also, although their cabbage is the best Jamaican cabbage I've ever had, when I get cabbage and greens as sides I wish they would put my greens in the little slot for sides instead of always the cabbage. I end up with enough cabbage for two meals but only one meal worth of greens. Maybe greens are more expensive for them.. I will ask to pay extra for this next time and see what they say. Overall, Zion's is my favorite restaurant in the area and I am already looking forward to the next time I fall woefully behind on my food prep.
