Amazing staff and food! Super friendly and welcoming with very comfortable booths! Everything is made with love with amazing portions! Reasonably priced! The lamb (if you are likeable to such) is fall off the bone amazing! Yummy! Best Mediterranean (in personality opinion 👌) in Latham, NY!

This place is decent if you're looking for something fast, healthy, and inexpensive with a nice area to sit down. I wouldn't call it excellent though, and there might be better options in the area. I had a gyro bowl, fries and hummus. The gyro meat was dry, with some parts reminding me of beef jerky. The vegetables were all very nice and fresh. The fries, I must say, were perfectly crispy. The hummus was ok with some nice EVOO on it. I liked the garlic sauce and the tahini toppings. Watch out for the hot sauce - it has a sneaky burn that you'll feel in your stomach more than your mouth. Weird incident with the tap water: it tasted... spicy. The manager tried it when I pointed it out and said it tasted fine. What can you do at that point? 🤷 Fyi, I tried it before I ate anything. For the most part staff were friendly and accommodating. You order your food at the counter and pick it up there. The dining area is bright, clean and spacious. Overall it was an acceptable experience but the dry gyro and weird water kind of kept it from being exceptional. Reply to the owner: The request I made "outside the menu" was to have a bowl made with a cucumber salad base instead of rice. The cucumber salad is an available topping for the DIY bowl, so I'm not sure how special this is. The beef gyro is a regular item and was sub par. It wasn't so bad that I was unable to eat it, and it did absorb a little moisture from the salad. Still, this meal was overall in "average" territory. I write honest reviews to help fellow travelers; saying this meal was 4 or more stars would be dishonest. 3 stars isn't bad. Maybe address the issues I mentioned and my review will become a distant memory, obscured by all the perfect reviews you'll get.

I’ve been here a few times and it never disappoints, 10/10 experience. I ordered the beef and chicken bowl where you can choose whatever toppings you want and it was delicious!!

I recently visited Zaffron Kitchen in Loudonville and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was the highlight — every dish was bursting with flavor and freshness. The hummus was silky and perfectly seasoned, the Steak and Chicken Kebabs were tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The Shrimp Bowl was delicious with just the right amount of heat. The spices were well-balanced, giving each bite a rich depth without being overpowering. Service was excellent as well — the staff was welcoming, attentive, and happy to explain the menu and recommend dishes. I especially appreciated how quickly the food arrived and how everything was presented with care. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal with friends or a special night out, Zaffron Kitchen is a gem. I’ll definitely be returning to try more of the menu — the Lamb Chops are calling my name! Zaffron Kitchen definitely need a spotlight on 'Diners, Drive-In & Dives' !! If you haven't stopped in - you don't know what you are missing. We will definitely be back! Thank you! Karen & Jerry

If you like fresh and heathy food this place is great. The vegetables are always done nice the lamb and steak is high quality and delicious. Also if you want some good cart style stuff or classics like a burger and fires they’re are awesome. I’ve gotten lunch and dinner here many times one of my favorite orders was the triple cheeseburger which is shown in the pictures below. A must try for anyone who likes halal or Mediterranean. Falafel is also great

My wife and I decided to go out for dinner with the thought of finding a new place. We happened upon Zaffron Kitchen...and so glad that we did! The atmosphere is was exactly what we had in mind, something not too big but plenty of dine-in seating. The place was clean and the staff was both helpful and friendly. The owner was very pleasant and shared his passion for not only making delicious healthy food but also showed his desire to make sure that each customer is pleased. In short, this place is amazing an we will certainly be back for seconds and thirds! Speaking as a "foodie" who's frequented many places, this place rates a 5 star in our book!!!

Had the zafire burger. It was super moist and delicious. It isn’t thick, more like a smash burger. Bun is really good.

Great service, the food was done in a reasonable time frame. Price was reasonable for the large quantity of food.

Yelp
My first visit the staff was very friendly, they explained their menu and help me order. I ordered a chicken kabab bowl and it was great. I have been back to get the Zaffron Burger, hummus appetizer and the chicken and beef gyro over rice. Everything was fantastic. Most of their menu does not contain Gluten. This is a really good option for anyone with a gluten alergy.

Yelp
Monday nights are hard to go out with so many businesses closed. Zaffron was one of the few small businesses open and serving food. We've eaten at many Mediterranean venues and will be adding Zaffrons to our list. I ordered a wrap expecting to get a pitta stuffed with the usual lettuce, tomato, onions of other wraps plus the protein. Yes, it was a wrap (not pita) stuffed with a tender delicious marinated chicken. So tender, I had to look at it to be sure this was indeed a chicken breast. It did have some sauce on it, but extra is provided in the event it wasn't enough. I also got a Pina colada virgin smoothie. SO got a rice platter of lamb Kabobs, rice and a salad, which was more than plentiful. Parking was plentiful since this strip mall was basically closed except for Zaffrons. Food was plentiful and (as said before) delicious. Staff at Zaffrons were more than pleasant and food is cooked and brought to customers quickly. Well worth a first time and return trips as well.

Yelp
Don't miss out on this small Halal take-out joint if you are in the Albany area. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice and modern, and the customer service is 100%. I came here for dessert, ordering the Rasmalai (cheese balls in saffron-flavored condensed milk). The server went in the back and prepared it fresh. The five minute wait was worth it. It was so delicious. I am new to Halal cuisine. Zaffron Kitchen is definitely the place to go if you want to experiment. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Tried this new Mediterranean/Afghan restaurant for the first time tonight. We ordered takeout. Two got bowls. One the Chicken Kebab Bowl and one the Ground Chicken Bowl. Both came with mixed veggies (corn, onion, cucumber, tomatoes, chickpeas), hummus or baba ghanoush, and a choice of seasoned brown basmati rice or white saffron rice and white sauce. Both of our diners chose the well seasoned hummus. One had the basmati rice and one the white saffron rice. The meats were tender, tasty and decent sized portions. I ordered the Chicken Gyro over rice. It was a large portion that was customizable. I included onions, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, chickpeas, black beans, hummus, zafire sauce and white sauce. The meat tasted and had the texture of dark meat which I enjoy but some might not. The spices were good and I think I tasted some mint. The prices are comparable with similar places in the area. It's good to have another reliable option in the Latham area.

Yelp
This place is FIRE. Me and my girl were here last summer, and they have the best Mediterrinean food ever. I got the Chicken Kebab Bowl, and so did she. It was awefully delicious with all the good seasoned flavored tasting meat and sauce. Their dessert is amazing too. Nice looking family owned restaurant type. I also like the Kadoo. It taste really good and rich. Place is inexpensive as well. We will be back for more.

Yelp
Food was good. Portions size are big, price is just like any other New York restaurant. I liked that they gave me a bunch of humus and chopped salad. Ambience was quiet. It's really new and there were less people around for lunch. I do think they can do bit better with beef chopped, it seems like they used a beef patty and cut it up and put on top of my rice. I wished it was more like shawarma or steak type shredded beef chunks. For $$ yes I would like something next level. That's the only comment I have.

Yelp
Delicious and mouth watering. Good service and atmosphere. I had a lamb dish and the meat was tender and savory. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Got the eggplant app (forgot the name) and it's absolutely delicious. Wish they had it in entree size. Also got the falafel bowl with brown rice and toppings as well as the beef bowl with white rice and toppings. We both loved our food. Tzatziki sauce on both. If I had ONE thing to be super picky about, I wish that I had asked for more sauce on the falafel as falafel is sort of dry. But the food was great and the girl behind the counter was helpful and nice. Will return asap.

Yelp
Wow! We found this restaurant on Yelp and decided to give it a try as there were so many good reviews and the menu looked interesting. The food was delicious with generous servings, we both had to bring some home. We tried the butternut squash and pita appetizer which was unique and a great way to start the meal. We both had basmati rice bowls, one with shrimp and the other with chopped meat kabab. You have a wide selection of yummy items to add to the bowl including grape leaves, babaganush, two kinds of hummus and many others. The food is Afghan which is a first for us. We're visiting from California but if we lived close by this would be a regular place to eat for us. The chef and his family were exceptionally welcoming.

Yelp
Ordered the beef/lamb cart style meal for lunch. There was only one other table seated who already had their food, but still ended up waiting 15 minutes for it to be ready for 5 of the same orders. The meat portion was a little disappointing, which made the meat to rice ratio a little off. However, the taste itself was good as there is also a large selection of toppings. I got the mild sauce which was perfect as it wasn't too spicy and added great flavor. I typically can never handle the red sauce associated with cart style dishes. I feel as it is a bit overpriced but come check it out for yourself.

Yelp
This place is amazing. I had a chance to talk to the owners who are passionate about their food. The meat is flavorful, tender and cooked to perfection First time we ordered the Barg Kebab (steak) and Chicken Kebab. Today we got the travelers platter for the whole family. While waiting I had a Zaffire burger which is a lamb/beef mix and was amazing. I am a big fan of this restaurant, give it a try. My wife has a few food allergies and they were very accommodating.

Yelp
The customer service was great and the food was fresh & delicious. I ordered the shrimp bowl, butternut squash soup, and chicken plate. I appreciate the kindness of acknowledging my grandson's birthday. Restaurant and restroom were clean.

Yelp
Stopped here on drive from NYC to Vermont. Delicious! The meats were so flavorful, juicy, and tender. The sauces and toppings complemented the meats and rice so well! The server was very nice and helpful. Thank you for a great meal!

Yelp
Just finished a delicious meal at Zaffron Kitchen. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming. The staff is friendly and eager to help when ordering at the front counter. We ordered falafel, eggplant appetizer, chicken kabob wrap and chicken kabob salad. Everything was fresh and plentiful. It was evident that they take pride in the food they serve. In a sea of unhealthy pub food, this is a welcome, healthy addition to the fast casual space. Will definitely return.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The falafel was so fresh and I had never kadoo, so that was an interesting treat!

Yelp
Excellent and super friendly service. The food was very fresh, tasty, and I like that they have late hours.

Yelp
My sister and I were looking for a place to go out to dinner, and the place that we thought we were going was completely packed and had a 45 minute wait so we decided to look elsewhere and we landed on Zafron kitchen. The proprietor was very friendly and very accommodating, and he guided us on how to order. We both had a chicken kebab bowl it was great. There was more food than we can finish and it was all very fresh and tasty. It seems like it's more of a lunch place than a dinner place, but it would be great for takeout either way and we plan on returning. Great experience!

Yelp
This is my new favorite restaurant! Been here three times in last few weeks. Food is consistently excellent. Fresh and perfectly seasoned. Especially enjoyed the Badenjan (eggplant) and beef kofta. Rice is superb with actual saffron! Hints of sumac and onion, just love it. Restaurant is clean and tidy. Prices are correct. A welcome addition. Love the staff here, super friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is excellent in quality ingredients, portions and presentation. The staff/owners or anyone I interacted with, are ALL vested in pleasing and providing the best service. The facility itself is not impressive (they are located in a somewhat dreary small strip mall on New Loudon Road in Latham) but have, albeit economically, dressed it up inside with ethnically themed murals and fixtures which make it pleasant to (informally) dine in house. They put their resources into the food which is fine with me! Incidentally, they prepared a large amount of food for me on a Sunday afternoon at the last minute which I proudly served at a pool gathering this past September and it was the hit of the party! Thank you Zaffron! I'm looking forward to my next meal!

Yelp
Delicious food and great service! The worker was very patient with my family who had some restrictions. Will definitely be returning

Gwen K.

Yelp
The ambience is great, the service was super nice and they were pleased to patiently explain the menu. Food was AMAZING! If I didn't live 1000 miles away, this would be my regular joint. Superb stop on a road trip passing through that area.

Yelp
What an amazing find , was hesitant to visit with low count of reviews but glad I did. If you haven't visited this place make sure you do. Apart from the regular fare you should also give the kabuli topping( just be aware that it sweet) a try we also tried the fish and the chicken kebabs . The host treats you like family and is very caring and polite.

Pejman A.

Yelp
The food is great and the staffs are friendly! I had tried their Beef Kebab (Barg) and also their chicken kebab, which they were both delicious.

Yelp
Fantastic Zafire Burger! Just spicy enough. So much flavor. Felafel was on point. 10/10

Shakera Z.

Yelp
Food was average but too expensive for the amount they give, place was nice and clean.
