The 19 Best Restaurants In Anaheim

"Located one block from the 5 freeway, Zait & Zataar is our pick for a quick meal before getting on the road. The order-at-the-counter Lebanese spot is 100% halal, with a gigantic menu with dedicated sections for breakfast, mezze, salads, lunch bowls, and fresh baked goods. If you’re in a rush, go for the Arabi-style wrap. We love the slightly sweet, marinated chicken shawarma, but you can’t go wrong with any filling, because the flatbread wrap itself is so good: warm and buttery, with crispy golden edges that crackle with each bite. If you see us driving down Brookhurst with one of these in our hands, mind your business." - brant cox

So delicious! The food was absolutely bomb! It was our first time trying Lebanese cuisine, and we were blown away by the freshness and healthiness of every dish. You can truly taste the quality in every bite. The chicken was marinated to perfection, with a blend of spices that danced on our taste buds—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor! The roasted potatoes were a delightful surprise, with a zesty lemony twist that added a refreshing brightness to the meal. Each piece was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, making them the perfect accompaniment to the savory chicken

First time trying Lebanese food and really enjoyed it. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned, in addition to the portion sizes being quite generous in my opinion. The restaurant was clean and the staff were super kind and helpful. Definitely coming back to try their other menu items.

I love family run restaurants that show you a love of their food and culture. This restaurant is small yet has so much to offer. The service is attentive and a smile was always offered. The menu is sure to offer you a few must have items. The menu is full of so many delicious options including bowls, wraps, salads, sandwiches, plates and bakery items. As they are all homemade you simply cannot go wrong with anything you order. The olive oil is sourced from family in Lebanon and their herb mix and sumac are also homemade. You simply cannot beat the carefully crafted recipes and authentic flavors that come out of their kitchen. To make your meal even more traditional all their breads are cooked in house as well. Their saj breads and pitas simply cannot be beat as they are so soft and pillowy. Vegan options Outdoor seating available

We loved coming here the food was delicious. Lebanese food is just one of my favorite foods and here you could taste the authentic flavors. Aside the delicious food the ambience literally transports you. We can’t wait to be back and try other food here. The Lebanese pizza here is a must.

Found this delicious food by accident when I was attempting to get coffee at a drive thru and the was too long. The empty parking space in front of. Zait & Zaatar was a sign from the universe that I was meant to have a healthy, flavorful lunch and try authentic Lebonese food. The host was so friendly and funny and welcoming . Now I have to order everything on the menu and come back several times to do that. The patio is so relaxing and the indoor dining is super quaint and charming. They even have a drive-through if you’re in a rush and need to eat some hearty meals on the go . The music is at the right level so you have Lebanese vibe you get one extra to it but not super loud. It’s just loud enough to give it a nice relaxing atmosphere . You have to eat here !!!!

My first time trying Lebanese food and this place made me love it. The beef shawerma was very delicious. The portion was huge I finished it in 2 meals. The cheese starter was also very good. The cheese smell was extremely appetizing. They used a few types of cheese which I don't remember but it's the smell I never tasted before in other food. The server was very friendly. I noticed this is probably a local's favorite because at least 10 people came here to buy in the duration 15-20 minutes I was eating there.

This spot is a hidden gem for anyone craving fresh, flavorful Mediterranean food. The falafel plate was vibrant and satisfying, with crispy falafel, creamy hummus, and an assortment of crisp veggies and tangy pickles that balanced the dish beautifully. The warm, fluffy pita and the grilled wrap were both well-prepared and packed with bold spices. Everything tasted homemade and thoughtfully prepared, and the outdoor seating added a cozy, relaxing touch to the whole experience.

If you're craving delicious, authentic Lebanese food, Zait & Zattar is a must visit. At first glance, the space feels small, but it’s warm and inviting with a cozy charm. The few tables are surrounded by thoughtful, eclectic decor, including charming little items hanging from the ceiling. Ahmed (apologies if I’m spelling that wrong!) was incredibly welcoming and friendly, which made the experience even better. We ordered the Combo, Spicy Potatoes, Falafel, Beef Bowl, and Sheesh Tawook. Every dish was full of bold, well-balanced flavors, but the standout for me was definitely the Spicy Potatoes. They were crispy, golden brown perfection with a surprising and delightful citrusy kick. Absolutely addictive.

Yelp
Service, food, ambiance. All is amazing! Definitely recommend the beef and chicken shawarma plate to share with someone. Some of the best Mediterranean food i've ever had and they always do it right.

Yelp
Zait & Zaatar is a casual eatery in Anaheim, CA that's serves up Lebanese fare: baked flatbreads, wraps, sandwiches, shawarma (or protein of choice) plates/bowls, appetizers, breakfast, salad; and a variety of baked goods. All made-in house. We got a few things - Vegetarian combo: Hummus, baba ghannouj, tabouleh, falafel, pickles & tahini sauce. Saj flatbread included. Love it! Chicken Shawarma Plate: marinated chicken, salad, hummus, rice, pickles & garlic sauce/chili sambal. Good. Some baked goods: mini Zaatar flatbread, mini spinach and cheese pies. We loved the Zaatar flatbread! Overall, we thought everything here was good and made with fresh ingredients and nicely packaged for takeout. Service was helpful and friendly. Parking inside a mini-mall shared with nearby businesses.

Yelp
This was my first time having Lebanese food and my favorite was the Chicken Shawerma Arabi. The worker recommended us a couple of items to try off the menu and everything was good. We got to try a drink that was similar to Coke, but a lighter flavor. There are a couple of tables inside to enjoy your meal. The restaurant is very well decorated and the parking lot is super easy to find spots! ig: @cravingswithcat

Yelp
First time having lebanese food & it was so good! Its pretty small inside and a few tables still had stuff on it so we waited around for a bit for a seat. I think there was only 1 girl working the front. We got so much food and it was just so good. I didn't have any expectations going on but the flavors took me for a ride. Cannot wait to go back and try out other items

Yelp
We recently had one of the best Lebanese feasts of our lives here. This restaurant & bakery has a custom built brick oven, and they make everything fresh with all the best ingredients. The whole team is so warm and welcoming and take your order fast. They have seating indoors and outdoor with cozy vibes that make you feel at home. We tried: Cheese & Zaatar Manouche Spinach & Cheese Pie Kofta Pie Kibbeh Falafel Cucumber Yogurt Dip w/ Saj Bread Shawarma Plate If you've never tried Zaatar, it's a flavorful blend of thyme, oregano, sesame & olive oil. Simple as it may seem, it is just bursting with flavor and combined with the fresh baked breads this was some of the best we've tried. The cucumber dip, and hummus that came on the shawarma plate were so creamy and delicious with the thin saj bread. We loved that the kibbeh and falafel here both had nice outer crunch but weren't too dried out, and they were delicious with the house made sauces like pomegranate molasses, Tahiti, garlic sauce and spicy aioli. The little pies are so warm and fluffy, and I loved the touch of sour flavor from sumac in the spinach & cheese pie. The ground beef kofta was also spiced just right. For the shawarma plate we got a mix of both chicken & beef, and it came with rice, salad & hummus. The meats were so juicy and flavorful. They serve breakfast till 1pm so we need to go back to try that. They also sell pastries by the dozen so it's a wonderful option to consider when you're looking for something unique to bring to your next gathering.

Yelp
Authentic and Delicious Lebanese Flavors! Real, authentic Lebanese food that truly hits the spot. The shawarma was flavorful and perfectly seasoned, and the other sandwiches were just as delicious. The hummus presentation was incredible, smooth, fresh, and beautifully plated. The tabbouleh was vibrant and well-balanced. You can tell everything is made with care and tradition. Highly recommend Zayt & Zaatar for anyone craving genuine Lebanese taste in Anaheim!

Yelp
Zait & Zaatar is such a hidden gem in Anaheim! It's a cozy little Mediterranean spot with fresh, made-to-order dishes and some fun, unique twists. One of my favorite parts was watching the food being cooked right in the fire oven--you can literally see everything coming together in real time. I tried the cheese and zaatar bread, and it was so delicious--crispy, flavorful, and super comforting. The potatoes were to die for! so crispy on the outside and so fluffy on the inside. They also have a mini bakery section, perfect if you're just stopping by for a snack or something quick to-go. Their drink selection is also unique--lots of options you won't find at your typical spot. On top of that, the owner and staff are incredibly friendly, and the portions are generous for the price. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to--can't wait to try more from their menu!

Yelp
Just a few minutes from Disneyland -- way better value than most spots nearby! This Middle Eastern gem really impressed me. Everything is made fresh to order -- you can tell by the way it looks and tastes. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a slow meal, they've got you covered. Tons of bakery items too! Combo Cheese & Zaatar Manakish - Loved this one! If you're a cheese lover like me, you'll be obsessed. The zaatar adds a nice herbal twist without overpowering the gooey cheese. Felt like a perfect little fusion moment. Kibbeh (1 piece) - My first time trying kibbeh and I really enjoyed it! Crispy on the outside, warm and flavorful inside. Super fresh, and even the kids liked it. Spicy Potatoes - These were a hit with our little foodie friend too! Crispy outside, soft inside, and they don't taste like your average preservative-filled fries. Clean and simple - perfect side dish. Shawarma Plate Combo - The meat was sliced thin and grilled beautifully - juicy and tender with every bite. The plate comes with a bit of everything: grilled meat, salad, rice... Balanced and satisfying. If you're doing low-carb or keto, it totally works too!

Yelp
My first time trying Lebanese food. What a hidden gem in Anaheim. I love supporting mom and pop and this place was amazing. Service. Top notch. Guy who helped me was so nice. Patience and helped me pick my lunch. The food. So good. Chicken shawarma wrap was so good. Good flavor from the oven. Really good garlic saice. Got myself a chicken plate with hummus and lettuce. Everything fresh. The wrap they give you is so fresh and thin. Sauces really good. I love the pomegranate balsamic. Zaaatar with the sauce was good also. They warm it up really quick in the oven.

Yelp
Such a beautiful interior and yummy restaurant! I got the beef shawarma plate and I really loved it. The salad paired so well and my only complaint is I wish there was more hummus!

Yelp
Love this spot. Everything is made fresh everyday and amazing. Service on point and just a great family run business. Gotta get their cheese naan bread it was addicting! Also got their chicken shawarma plate and it was delicious healthy goodness. They packed so much chicken in with their garlic sauce. It came with fries, their cabbage, pickles and more garlic sauce to put together the perfect bites. Definitely coming back every chance I get!

Yelp
the tasty haul: - zait & zaatar pizza - combo kabob plate - veggie combo plate - chicken shawarma "zait" means oil. "zaatar" means mixed of spices. put them together & you've got Zait & Zaatar - a spot that doesn't just serve food, but serves an experience. Sam, the owner, was incredibly warm & welcoming, helping us navigate their extensive menu so we could get a real taste of Lebanon. it's both a restaurant & a bakery, with a legit brick oven that makes everything feel extra authentic. everything is made fresh to order. i had my first ever zait & zaatar pizza. it had a good amount of cheese inside. the herbs, the oil - all house-made. it was another level!! even someone like me, who normally skips on falafel, was blown away. their falafel was freshly made & easily became my favorite dish of the day. we got the combo plate that had ribeye steak & chicken slowly roasting on the shawarma spit which also had the zaatar. it added this earthy, herby flavor that brought everything together. add in garlic sauce, hummus & babaganoush, then wrap it all in fresh saj bread? that was the perfect bite. oh, exciting news!! they've got a new location in aliso viejo opening soon. will 100% make the drive cos when you find the best lebanese food, you go back for more!

Yelp
I've had lebanese food a long time ago so I forgot what was in store but wow, I was very impressed. Upon walking in, I was a little worried because the store was small and only had 1 person working. There were a few dirty tables that weren't cleaned yet and I stood around for a bit. The girl working did come by and clean the tables after and soon enough the food began coming out. I don't remember the name of things, but the cheese something was so good. It was probably my favorite dish.

Yelp
Stopped in yesterday on way to Disney's California Adventure to grab some shawerma on the run to get better food for less than in the park. (Thank you 98.7fm for the tickets to their Private Party!) Staff was very friendly and attentive and had our order ready shortly after we arrived. The kids thoroughly enjoyed their shrimp wraps. I could even hear my daughter's (mmm-mmm's) in between bites. The wife and I really enjoyed our chicken shawerma "sandwiches" (wrapped in lavish, I believe). Flavor was fantastic and the addition of French fries, spices, garlic sauce and pickles made it a real winner. I recommend getting a side of the delicious garlic sauce to dip in when you need a little extra kick. The size of the wrap was ample as well; one is definitely enough and is very filling. We watched some diners in the restaurant get their combo orders and the portions with fries and a side were enormous. The decor of this small little restaurant was nice, too, and the stone bathroom was gorgeous and clean. I'd definitely go back!

Yelp
Honestly, idk where to start with this restaurant. I was born in Lebanon and trying to find authentic food that tastes like home has been really difficult, until I tried this restaurant. Sammy, the owner didn't even know I was from Lebanon and treated me with amazing service. Walked me through the menu and the food tastes amazing. Each item tasted like home and ambiance of the restaurant brought back a lot of memories from back home. I highly highly recommend this restaurant. It's my new daily Sunday brunch! MAKE SURE YOU ORDER THE FLATBREAD (manakeesh)

Yelp
Service was amazing! Love this place! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious--crispy, flavorful chicken with just the right amount of spice. You can tell everything is made fresh and with care. The restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was casual and fun, perfect for a quick bite or a relaxed meal. We left full and happy! Can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu. Highly recommend YoYo Chicken!

Yelp
Tried Lebanese food and the first thing I chose was a Lebanese Pizza. Similar to other Mediterranean places, you have your wraps and meat dishes but I went with the Pizza since it seemed like an oddity. The pizza was fresh and crispy with loads of goat cheese and feta with a unique tart flavor. I did feel a bit basic but the flavor was awesome and definitely a good vegetarian option if you're into that thing. Topped with some weird but sweet flavored soda from the Mediterranean. Place has some interesting decor on the inside and plenty of outdoor seating. Also, they also function as a bakery with multiple kinds of baked goods, had a cheese pastry as dessert. Service is nice, the lady at the cashier stand was very helpful in explaining the dishes to me.

Yelp
Update! I have to say--the food here is great when they get the order right. But the customer service? Absolutely unacceptable. I spent $51 on three sandwiches and hummus, and I expect three basic things in return: 1) the correct order, 2) good customer service, and 3) quality food. They only got one of those right. Whoever was working the front was rude and careless. My order was wrong not once, not twice. but three times. They added chicken tawouk to my hummus order without asking, and completely messed up my sandwich. Worst of all, they opened the sandwich I returned, removed the fries I had specifically asked not to be included, and handed it back instead of making a new one. I'm pregnant and have severe reactions to fries--this is not just a preference, it's a health issue. When I brought the sandwich back a second time, she argued with me and denied there were fries in it at all. I requested a fresh sandwich, and she slammed it down on my table and walked away without a word. I'm leaving this review because the restaurant needs serious quality control--especially when it comes to how staff handle food orders and treat their customers. A good meal doesn't make up for disrespect and negligence.

Yelp
LOVEEE zait and zaatar. The person who took our order (Mohammed) - I believe he recently started working there- was absolutely lovely. He was so nice and receptive. The food per usual was delicious. My fav is the cheese jibneh. The falafels were extraordinary. I wish the baba ganoush has more of a roasted flavor. Tabouleh was excellent. Overall loved it. Highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Nikole D.

Yelp
If you are in need of Lebanese food, this is the place to go to. Though it may seem more expensive, the serving sizes are good enough to share with another person. More pros about the place include: plenty of parking, variety of seating (inside and outside), fast food output, late closing times, and average customer service. A con may be the local ambiance (which is also the appeal) as it's very casual and families come in and out). There was a minor dispute at the cash register. This would be a nice go-to place if you wanted to try something new and unique!

Yelp
This is my favorite spot for mana'eesh, and one of the top places for shawarma. I don't go here often because I live about 50 miles away, but whenever I make a trip it's always well worth it. The food, service, and cleanliness of the place are all top notch. Thank you guys for always being kind and friendly and for always putting love into your food

Yelp
Best shawarma in Anaheim from the fresh bread to the juicy tender beef with so many flavors and the melted tomato inside and the tahini sauce I can eat it daily it's that good, the fries also came out hot and crispy with the perfect amount of salt. They have a nice little outside seating area that has heaters and service was great we waited little but it's not bad since it's all made fresh to order. Also the sandwich is really big you can share it also I loved the pickles. I felt I was eating in lebanon :)

Yelp
I randomly pulled off the highway starving as I was heading to the Anaheim Convention center and didn't want to choke up double the price for half the quality of food there. First time at Z & Z. And pleasantly surprised. I ate the halloumi, which has light seasoning and even the dough was delicious!. Which was perfect and hard to find in a restaurant in OC and LA. I also had the mini Zaatar which is spot on. I think all the dough here is handmade including the Pita. Which I rarely find anymore. And this place makes good dough. I had the mixed plate which was yummy. The ambience looks like a good family business and the set up is cool, signs in Arabic and the bathroom even looked nice. The meats and sauces taste very authentic and delicious as well. Service was great, when I told the guy it was my first time here he treated me to a side dish. I'll definitely come back when in OC. Thanks Z & Z!

Yelp
Oof the food was delicious and so was the service and ambiance. If you enjoy sitting outdoors in a lowkey place this location is for you! Their plates, fries, and flat bread were amazing!

Yelp
The best Lebanese food that I tried! The owner here was amazing and very sweet. We got to chat with him a little bit and I can see how hard he works to keep this place going. The service was great. The owner kept bringing out food after food for us to enjoy and see. Ambiance is like a cozy mom a pop shop. Definitely give me the vibes of being there in Lebanon. I highly recommend this place. Thank you again for the delicious meal.

Yelp
~ WOW JUST WOW ~ It was my first time trying Lebanese food and Zait & Zaatar did not disappoint!! I've tried other MEDITERRANEAN cuisines prior, but oh my, nothing like this! I grew up just down the street from this spot, but they unfortunately opened right when I moved out for college. Thankfully, my mom introduced us to this wonderful spot just recently! I'll for sure be back again when I visit my hometown. ~ FLAVOR TOWN ~ This spot deserves 5 stars for several reasons. One of them is that the dishes are super FLAVORFUL and the SERVINGS are HUGE. I got the FALAFEL SANDWICH and every bite was just spot on. I also snuck in a few bites of the fresh SAJ BREAD and dipped it in HUMMUS from my husband's plate. You can tell that everything was made fresh. They really got the balance of flavors right with every single dish. ~ FRIENDLY STAFF ~ I'm a little surprised to see some of the negative reviews here. We experienced nothing but friendly and accepting vibes from the staff. We had a chance to mingle with one of the owners and he even hooked us up with some fresh not-so-MINI ZAIT. I'm already looking forward to my next visit here. Can't wait to be back again!

Yelp
I used to live in the area years ago and would always eat here. Food was always good. My parents still live near so if I'm craving, I'll stop by. Well, it's been a while since I've been here. Stopped by today and prices went up on their plates. Use to be 15 now it's 20. The quality of their food is not what it used to be. Chicken was so dry. I don't think it was worth the price. Won't be coming back unfortunately.

Yelp
I was there the day the new beautiful wall mural was being hand painted. They have decor that makes you daydream while you eat. I've been going there for 9 years. One of my most favorite restaurants of all time. The saj bread is super soft. The toum is made so well and fresh. Staple orders that are made fresh and always ordered by me: Baba Ghannouj, Hummus, Grape Leaves, Zaatar Plate, Tabouleh, Falafel Plate, and Veggie Combo. Service is quick. Depending on the time of day, you either will get a seat inside, or not. There is also seating located outside. To go orders are packed with care, and packaging is very nice.

Yelp
Authentic flavors that hit just right. Their manakish and shawarma are packed with bold, real spices, and the portions are generous. The owners are super friendly, and you can tell they care about quality. It's a hidden gem that deserves more attention.

Yelp
Once again, this was amazing. So yummy. Fish wrap- MUST GET. Beef schwarma bowl. So good. Great portions. The hummus is so creamy and luxurious with the olive oil. We love their saj- so soft and flavorful.

Best beef shawarma wrap I have ever had. Most wraps I get are dry but this one is juicy and moist and delicious. Best one in town

Yelp
My husband has very fond memories coming here with his family in the past and was excited to share the experience with me and my sister for her birthday. We ordered 4 items and shared family style and everything was excellent and we left very full and happy. My sister said it was the best hummus she has ever had (don't tell my mother in law haha) and loved that the burger was mixed with lamb. I loved that there was still plenty for me to eat as someone who is gluten free. I loved the ambience, we felt so welcome like we were invited to come eat at family's house and service was great and gracious and kind. My sister said it was an excellent birthday present to eat here.

It was just one of these days where I was craving shawarma and trust me I have a lot of those days lol. Probably one of the best beef shawarma in So-Cal! I'm so happy to work close by and I'll definitely be stopping by more often. That wrap (bread), the ingredients and that perfectly marinated beef was just so good! Small and elegant interior with nice decor. You should definitely give this place a try if you're a shawarma lover like me!

Yelp
My favorite place for shawarma. Authentic, fresh, and delicious I wish I lived closer so I could have it more regularly but I only get to have it when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Abundant portions and tasty! I ordered the Chicken bowl and it was very good. Nice sauce on it. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because the French fries were lukewarm and a bit soggy.

Yelp
If you're craving a Lebanese escape, this spot transports you straight to the Mediterranean. The hummus is as smooth as it gets, the shawarma practically melts, and the falafel--crispy perfection. Every bite bursts with authentic Lebanese flavors, rich and vibrant. The Halal options are hearty and nourishing, like a feast made just for you. The owner is such a wonderful person, and you can feel the passion he pours into this place. I'm proud to support his business. The ambience is warm and welcoming, making it an experience you'll want to repeat. Left full, happy, and already planning my next visit!

Yelp
Food was great but service was lacking it was a simple week night too!! They were not busy but our order took a while to arrive and they still managed get it wrong. They forgot one of the items that we ordered!! Unfortunately the service was a little behind and they weren't even busy at all. I would come back hopefully things will be better second timer around
