The 21 Best Indian and South Asian Restaurants in Los Angeles

"This humble market and takeout restaurant has a smaller but excellent array of mostly Pakistani dishes, starting with flavor-packed biryani. Chicken tikka, beef kabab, and plush naan are also on the compact menu, along with chicken karahi. Weekends bring some specials like lamb pulao. Call in to order ahead, and take home a packet of dried lentils from the attached market." - Virali_Dave, Eater Staff

Looks empty at first. I think it is because of huge area they have. Good prices on halal meat. Groceries are fine too. They have okay veggies. Small prayer area if you are traveling and need a place to do your salah.

The establishment offers an extensive array of Mediterranean products. The food court provided a surprisingly positive experience, despite a limited menu. We sampled the chicken biryani, beef kebab, and chicken tikka, all of which were exceptionally fresh and flavorful. The bakery selection is extensive and flavorful. We highly recommend experiencing this during your visit.👌 We highly recommend this establishment and plan to return.😋

Great place to buy fresh halal meats. Updated on 08/19/2025 For the past three days, I’ve noticed that the shanks haven’t had price tags each day. Today, I went at 6:45pm, and a Spanish guy was mopping the meat cutting section. I requested him to put price stickers on two shanks, but he rudely refused, saying the section was closed and I should take whatever was available outside. It would have only taken a minute to help! This attitude felt very unprofessional and disappointing.

This 5 stars is for the bakery at Zamzam bakery. It was my first time ordering the pies from there. It’s so delicious and worth the drive since I don’t live close by. The person who was taking my order is very respectful and made sure to give mine on time even tho I didn’t place it ahead of time. Highly recommended

If you’re looking to buy moldy fruit, rotten vegetables, and expired candy—Zam Zam Supermarket is the place for you! It’s like they specialize in selling garbage. I don’t know what’s worse: the disgusting smell from the produce section or the fact that they still stock expired food on the shelves. This place is a health hazard, not a grocery store. Stay far away.

That grease trap smell as soon as you walk in, YUCK! The bakery inside is the only reason we went here. Couldn't wait to get out of here. That smell was enough to give me PTSD 😀 Slow understaffed service, limited selection but some unique items in the tea aisle.

Zam Zam Supermarket is a fantastic gem in the area, especially for anyone looking for high-quality halal meats, Middle Eastern products, and bulk items. The selection here is impressive – they carry everything from fresh produce to a wide array of spices, grains, and authentic foods you can’t find at regular grocery stores. Their halal meat section stands out in terms of both variety and quality. The cuts are always fresh, and you can tell they take care in sourcing the best products. It’s a big plus for anyone who wants the peace of mind that comes with buying from a trusted source. I also love their range of Middle Eastern products, from pantry essentials to unique ingredients for specialty dishes. Another highlight is the bulk items section, where you can stock up on essentials without breaking the bank. And don’t miss their prepared foods section – their fresh-made dishes are perfect for when you want a quick, delicious meal with authentic flavors. The staff is always friendly and willing to help, making the whole shopping experience even better. Zam Zam Supermarket has become my go-to spot, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

Yelp
Good selection of spices, halal meats, and fresh produce. Other helpful vendors located inside as well.

Yelp
Great mediterranean grocery market, very reasonable pricing on spices and food. We always Shop here for our restaurant (Yummy Mummy) whenever we're in Dallas. We get enough stock of sumac and molasses for our menu items. The reason I'm giving them 3 instead of 5 stars is because the place stinks and dirty. A huge place like this shouldn't be less clean and tidy as a target or Walmart neighborhood place. I hope the manager or the owner read this and take some actions and hopefully on my next visit to dallas I see the change and upgrade this awesome place to 5 stars.

Yelp
There is never enough products there. All the shelfs are empty. You would think that store is closing down and they are doing their final sales. It's waste of gas to go there.

Yelp
This place has really gone downhill. It's dirty and it smells awful! Triple check every food product. A lot of it is expired. The produce is mostly rotten. The only thing I come here for is their pita bread. The restaurant inside used to be decent. Now it's lacking and the food doesn't taste good at all.

Yelp
It was Madame's birthday and I wanted to do a nice middle Eastern dinner. Yes, we could have gone out, but really we just wanted to sit at home on the deck, with middle eastern food (one of her favorites) and a nice bottle of wine. But where to buy the stuff I wanted? Zitunas had closed, Andre's is dull and a long way away. I remembered a local grocery store from years ago. The Kasbah. Sadly that is now just a restaurant. But they told me about Zam Zam. It's kind of funky. The shelves aren't brimming with stuff, but what they have seems to be pretty good. I found labne, nabulsi cheese, fava beans for foul moudamas, za'atar, radishes, taramasalata, tahini. So I had what I needed . This isn't your average Whole Foods or Central market. It is a pretty basic Palestinian (mostly) food store with great prices and lovely people.

Yelp
I like this place for the simple fact they sell Bulgarian feta and kashkaval. They have a lot of other foods I grew up eating as a kid in Bulgaria. Prices are reasonable and they have a small kitchen that serves food at cheap prices. One downside is their fruits and vegetables don't last as long but that's probably because they're true organic.

Yelp
Mediterranean store with South Asian groceries with Meat section - Beef, chicken and goat meat - reasonable priced for Dallas metro area. Store also has Mediterranean /Arab/ South Asian café - they serve Chicken biryani - Beef, chicken and goat curry. Their chicken tikka is good. few times a week they serve half Mediterranean style baked chicken for $4.99 - prices are good

Yelp
I've been coming to ZamZam for about 3 years now. It has changed a lot, in a good way. the shelves are stocked up. New products. Even the food from the cafe has gotten better. If they keep up with the improvements, it would definitely be a 5 star international food supermarket.
